Radeon 128MB 9600XT DDR vs Geforce Fx5700-TD128 8x AGP 128MB

could u tell me what graphicsd card would give me the best perormacnce from my current pc configuration
Radeon 128MB 9600XT DDR
or the
Geforce Fx5700-TD128 8x AGP 128MB

Hi got an Asus 9600xt core speed stock is 500 but can be whacked up well above that, Had mine at 550 and the memory to 340 (680). easy to overclock with the Rage 3d drivers. Gets well into the 4000 in 3d mark and over 32000 in aquamark...Used to use Nvidia but no way now!
And it runs cool and came with masses of software and half life 2 voucher.
Spanks the 5700 in every way including price at just over £100.
But still would prefer a 9800 pro they liquidate all the opposition

  • MSI GeForce FX5700 TD128(non Ultra) MEMORY BANDWIDTH

    Hello to all...
I have 1 question please. I want to know the real memory bandwidth for MSI
GeForce FX5700 TD128(memory: Samsung). I found on MSI website this :
GeForce FX 5700 Graphics Core: 256-bit
    Memory Interface: 128-bit
    Memory Bandwidth: 14.4GB/sec.
    Fill Rate: 1.7 billion pixels/sec.
    Vertices/sec. 356 million
    Memory Data Rate: 550 MHz
    Pixels per Clock (peak): 4
    Textures per Pixel: 16
    RAMDACs 400 MHz
in MSI FX Series Quick User's Guide i found No. for memory bandwidth 8,8!!! GB/sec(MSI GeForce FX5700 TD128)
    Quick User's Guide Version: 5.0, November 2003, G52-V1NFX07
    Please remail and explain.
    Thanks
    TT

14.4 is the bandwidth for the Ultra so I assume it isn't the same on the non ultra.
You can calculate it by finding the rated timing of the memory chips and therfore the memory clock (approximatly).
For instance 2.8ns (should be marked on the chip -28) is 1/2.8ns=357MHz.
Using DDR it is effectively 714MHz, and using 128bit wide BUS you get 11.4GB/S

  • New series GEFORCE FX5700-TD128, 128MB is 64bit!!??

i buy new MSI FX5700-TD128 (not LE) and Riva Tuner show only 64bit memory bus!
performance on 3dmark is very low 2200 points on XP2500+,512MB RAM
if i try other FX5700 from Gigabyte RivaTuner show 128bit and performance is more better!
why MSI lie?!  FX5700-TD128 should be have 128bit memory bus! not 64!

    m4r3k,
Manuals for hardware are generic, and include multiple models of hardware.
If you look at the two links above, I listed both the 64bit memory version and the 128bit memory version and I asked you which one you had. You never told me.
If you do not give detailed answers I cannot help you. If you have a website that says your card is supposed to be 128bit memory, link it. If you have a copy of your manual online, link it. Till then, look at these two links for manuals:
    FX5700-TD128Q (128bit) Manual
    and
    FX5700-VTD128 Manual
(Just in case you did not notice in the links to the two manuals are the SAME LINK. So like I said, generic manauls. This is the industry standard.)

On website is 14,4GB/s , but in Quick Users Guide 8,8GB/s.

  • Msi fx5700-td128 vs td128q

    Hi!
Whats the diference between a Msi FX5700-TD128 and a Msi FX 5700-TD128q?
Why there's no q-less version in the main products page from Msi but yes in
other like msimiami that is from where i would be getting mine?
    Thanks.

Is your card a OEM i.e. the cheaper, no box and/or no software bundle version?

  • FX5700-TD128

When I bought my card -an MSI FX5700 TD128-, I've read at the web page http://www.msimiami.com/spanish/products/detail_spec/FX5700-TD128_spa.htm that the memory interface was of 128 bit. Yesterday I've installed the EVEREST Home Edition software -the update of Aida32- and I saw that the memory interface is of 64 bit.
As I couldn't believe it, I've installed RivaTuner 2, RC15.5, and it says it's of 64 bits too.
I wanna know if these softwares are not seen it's a 128 bits one, or if it's true that it's a 64 bit memory interface card.
    Thanks.

  • Geforce fx5700 Silent hill 3 problem

I need help with my msi fx5700 td128. eversince i bought it i haven't been able to run Silent hill 3. The game ran fine on my old g4ti4200. So far Silent hill 3 and ground control -(which i can run, but is very unstable) are the only games that I'm having problems with. I've tried different driver versions including the latest 56.64. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
    My specs:
    MSI KT4v
    amd duron 1200mhz
    enermax 350 watts
    256mb ddr266

you've made sure to update your game as well if a patch is available...also try unistalling the card (within windows) and using a Driver cleaner to get rid of all nvidia graphic related drivers...then restart and install MSI's 5303 version (for winxp) then see how game runs...otherwise you can try some 3rd party vid drivers...only place i trust though is here...http://www.omegacorner.com/index.html

  • [GeForceFX] Geforce Fx5900 TD128 Issues

Im getting graphical artifacts on the windows boot screen and the chkdsk screen that comes up sometimes on Windows XP SP2. Occurs on boot screen on Linux as well, but everything seems fine in Windows after it boots.  I've tried everything to fix this, bios updates to computer and video card. Also tried various drivers, but no luck. Also thinking of RMA'ing it, but Im worried that MSI doesn't have any 5900's left. Any advice ?

I updated the SiS drivers, Im thinking this is a BIOS issue of some sort. I even tried flashing to the latest MSI 5900 bios version. Still trying to get the time to bring this to a friend's comp to run it in. Maybe an incompatibility with my ECS K7S5A Pro motherboard ? Slot works as I put a Geforce 2MX in there and it didn't bring up the same problem. I will know more as soon as I am able to test in a friend's motherboard and will post the results
I have also managed to capture the problem, here is a link to the jpeg. http://www.evoteam.net/wc/artifact.jpg  notice the vertical line on the lower right of the boot logo. This is also after a fresh install of XP and happens during boot which I suppose rules out a driver issue

  • ATI Radeon 4870 HD with nVidia GeForce 7300 GT dont work

In 1st generation MacPro I have new ATI 4870 in Slot-1 and GeForce 7300 GT in Slot-4 (with second display), but applications (Cinema 4D or After Effects, for example) and Cinebench recognizing only 7300 GT card. Where may be a problem? ATI is fully recognized in profiler, but nVidia shows 0 MB VRAM or "No Display Connected"... Please, help...

Pull the 7300GT. I can find an article on Adobe support and FAQ for CS3 and later.

  • DDR NVidia GeForce FX 5200 graphicis card & 30" Mac HD monitor

I am a new Mac user, having had Dell desktops all my life. Recently, my Dell W1700 monitor/tv crapped out, and (of course) it is just out of warranty.
This prompted me to by a Mac Book Pro with a 30" HD monitor (to work with the PC also).
    MY QUESTION:
Like many in here, I want to use the Mac HD monitor with the Mac Book Pro as well as the Dell PC (8300 series). I suspect that the cable connections may not be compatible (pins appear to have a different configuration) though the Dell LCD TV/monitor did use DVI cable in conjunction with a separate green audio cable.
I've already read and reviewed how to set up the laptop with the lid closed while utilizing the HD monitor. Now I need to troubleshoot the HD/PC connections.
    Help!
PS-is the spell check feature in this forum messed up or what? I've never had so many idiotic "suggestions".

    Hi-
    Welcome to Discussions!
The 30" Apple Cinema Display requires a computer with a dual link DVI equipped graphics card. It can connect to single link DVI, but without a dual link, the 30" ACD will not operate at optimal resolution (2550x1600). The 30" ACD is equipped with a dual link DVI-D connector.
I believe your 5200 has a single link DVI-I (2048x1536 max resolution), which will allow coupling with a DVI-I or DVI-D connector.
    30" ACD supported resolutions:
    2560 x 1600 pixels (optimum resolution)
    2048 x 1280
    1920 x 1200
    1280 x 800
    1024 x 640

Wow $280 for the FX5900XT, that is crazy try newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-127-119&catalog=48&manufactory=BROWSE&depa=0) I don't care where your loyalties lie but don't pay an extra $100 bucks for the same card. newegg.com it great, great rating, good shipping. You should check them out first before you buy.

  • Radeon card keeps losing signal in games in 8x AGP mode.

I have a problem with my boardand i was wondering if anyone else had the same problem.
    i have a MSI K8t Neo2
    Athlon 64 3500+ (Venice)
    Radeon x850xt PE
1 gig ddr 3200 ram in dual channel
In 3d applications my monitor looses signal so i thin ktis a graphics card failure. It only happens in 8x AGP mode, when i use 4x mode everything is lovely and stable.
I have to keep rebooting and its getting annoying, id rather run my system in 8x mode than 4x mode even if i only gain marginal performance increases.
I have all the latest drivers and bios.
the gfx card has fast writes on and vlink 8x on. the frequency is set at 66mhz.  The voltage is set at default ( with higher voltages the problem seems worse)
I am wondering if the problem is related to the Ram as its running in dual channel but the 2 modules are not a matched pair but are by the same manufacturer I belive they run at the same timings.
I know its not the cards fault as i just upgraded fro ma 9700 pro and the same problem occured.
Is this a fixable solution or do i just have to wait for a new bios???
    Thanks
    Adam

I doubt it. Certain ATi cards are known to be at odds with this board. I suspect it can and will eventually be fixed in Bios but I am not an authority on the matter. If you suspect it's your board maybe the better part of vallor is to contact MSI and explain the issue to them. If they feel it's your board then they will give you an RMA. Some folks have done certain testing on an issue in the past and MSI has sent them a specific Bios version to test out as well. So it is hard to say how they will handle the issue unless you get hold of them.

  • FX5200-TD128 with AGP 1x/2x BX chipset mobo

    hi,
I really need to know this, I'am at customer he wants me to install the VGA card to him MB. He bought to the MSI FX5200-TD128 card to him ABIT BX133-RAID motherboard. This MB supports only 1x/2x AGP... I don't know, this VGA card is backward compatible with this AGP in this MB? In the sysrequiements they don't write anything about AGP port. In other MSI card, MX440 is specified in the syserquiments the min. AGP port must be 4x..... At FX5200 this is missing.
Can I put this card to this MB? I don't want fry it...
    please help!
    Thank tou

It *should* work, but these cards usually get very hot in 3.3v slots so if this a passively cooled card you might want to put a fan over the heatsink.

  • [GeForce 6] 6600 GT AGP Problems

I have been dealing with an issue for the past 2 days with this new card. I switched out a 5900 xt and put this card in. Run AM3 @ 3dm03 would not run AM3 and got really bad pixelation in 3DM03.
First thing i do is go into bios and set my fsb back to normal and then uninstall the drivers then reboot into safe mode and run dc3. I install the 71.84 drivers and still does it.
Repeat process and install 71.89 same thing.
Go into bios and turn fast writes off . Same problem.
Try running it at 4X instead of 8X.
By this time I am thinking maybe it is the little cheap psu that came with the case. I pull it out and stick in a Thermaltake 480watt model w0044 and only hook up mobo vid and hd. Still getting the same problem.
I go and download the 66.72 drivers and try them still nothing.
I then decide to download the newest chipset drivers and try them. Still nothing. I noticed when I installed the newest chipset drivers that it didnt install the gart so I unpack the drivers into a folder and manually update using the gart in the package. Reboot run AM3 just fine and 3dm03 just fine. Problem is Only scored 23000 in AM3 and 3400 in 3dm03. So I go to the drivers menu and instead of saying APG Mode 8X it says PCI x0. Run NVHardpage and made sure everything was checked. Go back into drivers and nowhere is there an option for APG rate. Fire up Riva Tuner and get the same thing. So I proceed to rollback my gart drivers and reboot and it shows all APG settings in the driver menu and in Riva Tuner. Fire up 3DM03 and still have the same problem.
I then pull the card out take hsf off clean thermal compound off and appy some AS Ceramique Replace HSF I noticed it was a little loose for my liking so I pulled bracket off and bent it a little bit so the HSF would make better contact with the core. Still gave me the same problem. I go in an under clock the card to 300/600 run 3DM03 still giving me the same problems.
Only way I get it to work is with the gart driver but then it sets it to PCIx0 and no option for AGPsettings anywhere.
Just for my curiosity I pulled HSF back off to make sure I didn't damage when I bent the bracket. Everything was fine, reapplied some AS Ceramique and put back in.
My thoughts are to RMA it and try another one or RMA and get a refund and maybe go up to the 6800.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and Thanks in advance

first off thanks for the help Deathstalker. Tried the fan idea didnt work. I just got done reinstalling xp. Did a clean install loaded 71.89 drivers still ahd the problem. I went in and turned it to 4x apg and left fw turned on and now it is working flawlessly. Got a 7997 on 3DM03 but only a 52,352 in AM3. Everything is at stock speeds. Must have been a driver conflict or something. I am happy now thou. Thanks again for the help.

  • [GeForce 6] NX6600-VTD256 AGP and HDTV output

I am looking for a VGA card for my mediacenter on a HDTV plasma.
On the website it says that the NX6600-VTD256 has an HDTV-vivo cable as accessoire.
Is this cable also available in the Netherlands, and does it come with the package ?

    Thanks for the reply.
although it does not come with the component video cable, can you tell me if it is possible to connect component video to the adapter.
Do you have an picture of the adapter ?
Yes it is possible, but I haven't done it because I don't have a HDTV. Scroll down the page to the bottome you will see the adapter on left side. It's component video output, not input.
