Radeon 5450 compatible with IdeaCentre?

Hello, I'm looking to purchase the Lenovo IdeaCentre 1169XF1 (Is this the k330?) from Newegg: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883108695 and I'd like to buy a dedicated video card as well. However, the 280 watt power supply somewhat limits my options. After doing some research, I found that the Radeon 5450 consumes very little power. Unfortunately, I'm seeing a lot of people saying that the 5450 is not compatible with the Lenovo ThinkCentre line. Would this also be the case for IdeaCentre systems? Thanks.

I understand that it has a free PCI-e slot and that in theory, any card that fits should work, but like I said earlier, it's been reported by multiple sources that the 5xxxx series of Radeon cards aren't compatible with the ThinkCentre series motherboards. They fit, but the machines won't boot.
Here's an example from these forums:
http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/A-and-M-Series-ThinkCentre/ati-5450-not-compatible-with-ThinkCentre-M57p...
Unless you're saying that you know that the IdeaCentre motherboards don't have the same restrictions?
A 6450 is an option, but it's slightly more expensive than the 5450 where I am, it's reported to have overheating issues and it's only negligibly more powerful than the 5450 for what I need it to do.

Want to install mSATA SSD as primary drive in my IdeaCentre A730 AiO.
I wonder which mSATA drives are compatible with my AiO.
I read som issues with Samsungs 840 EVO mSATA SSD.
    Who can help?

    hi Polleke1952,
    Thanks for Posting!
The only issue I have looked at with the Samsungs 840 EVO mSATA SSD. is Hardware not show on Device Manager, I would say that this is not a Hardware specific Issue but More of a Windows concern.
Where an MS Hotfix would resolve.
    For a straight forward Answer
The Samsungs 840 EVO mSATA SSD or Any other Msata SSD will work on the system.

  • Is the latest version of FCP studio compatible with Radeon X1600 graphics..

I read under the requirements that the latest version of FCP studio is not compatible with "integrated graphics cards"... what does that mean to me with an iMac that has a Radeon X1600 with 128MB and a bus type PCIe? Will it work?
    Thanks!

Final Cut Studio 2 (with FCP 6) runs just fine on my 2.0 GHz 20" iMac CD, which has a 128 MB ATI Radeon X1600 with an external display (1280x1024) connected via DVI.

  • Is AMD Radeon r7 260x or Nvidia Gtx 750 Ti compatible with my PC?

Hi, I have a dell inspiron 3847 with intel core -5-4460 @3.2 GHZ proccessor and integrated intel hd graphics 4600.  I think my power supply has 300 watts but I am not sure.  I was wondering if an AMD Radeon r7 260x graphics card or an Nvidia gtx 750 ti card would be compatible with my PC.  I know that the nvidia card uses less power but it costs 40 dollars more so if an amd card can go with my power supply then I will get that.  Any help would be appreciated thanks.

R7 260X requires much larger power supply.    750 TI versions may need secure boot turned off.
ANY card longer than about 8.1 inches is not going to physically fit into the case.

  • ATY radeon x1900 not compatible with Final Cut Pro X ???

It looks like my ATY radeon x1900 Graphics card is not compatible with Final Cut Pro X and the new motion and compressor?
    I have a Macpro 2 x 3Ghz quad core Intel Xeon with 16gb RAM
Any suggestion to which card I should Purchase?

There are several threads here and abroad that mention the installer will notice and approve the ATI 5770 in older mac pros.
I just now bought a 5770 from Apple's online store for my 2007 Mac Pro 2,1 so I'd have the compatibility if I ever decided to upgrade -- assuming at some point they'll run out of stock and not make any more.
Keep in mind the 5770 has 1 dual link DVI and 2 mini display ports so you might need to pick up necessary adapters depending on your monitors.
Hopefully FCPX will be usable in the near future and an upgrade will be pragmatic.
(I sure hope they don't pull this stunt with the next Logic upgrade.)
I may have a 1900XT for sale soon.

  • Is the IdeaCentre K450 compatible with the GTX 970?

By comptabile I mean, of course, will the graphics card fit in the board? Specifically I have the K450, Machine type: 10120, Config number: 57323871.
Or to make it simpler, I have this board: ( http://flash.newegg.com/Product/N82E16883266696?icid=SE_83-266-696 )
Note that's not my exact PC, but the board seems to be exactly the one I have, only some differences (mine came with 12GB instead of 8GB RAM, for example, etc.)
My main concern being the size of the GeForce GTX 970. The lenght shouldn't be an issue since there's plenty of space below the drive bays, but because it's dual width I'm concerned if the card will be in conflict with where the heat sink down there is located. Essentially if the card passes over it, that's fine, but I'm not sure if that heat sink will actually obstruct the card and not allow it to fit in place, That link I posted has images of the mother board and said heat sink. I intend to upgrade the PSU as well (due to the GPU's requirements), but I'm unsure if this card will even fit in there?

  • Is this 9800PRO compatible with my MotherBoard?

I need your advice to help figure out my problem so i wouldn't simply waste the money on this graphic card.
    This is my current rig....
    MSI Intel 865P NEO
    Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 2.60GHz
    DDR400 1GB
    Western digital 160GB and 80GB
    Enlight 420W
The System Requirements for GECUBE RADEON 9800 PRO 128MB is
A 300 watt power supply or greater is recommended.
    Processor: Intel® Pentium® 4, AMD® Athlon® or higher with AGP 8X (0.8v), 4X (1.5V) or Universal AGP 3.0 bus configuration (8X/4X)
    Memory: 128MB or above.
    Operating Systems: Windows® XP/2000/Me
What I worry is the line that I have highlight. What is the meaning of the AGP 8X (0.8v)? How do I know my rig is with this 0.8v? I need to figure out this first before I get my hand on this graphic card because I afraid the graphic card will burn because of my Motherboard.
And one more thing, if this graphic card compatible with my current rig, does my rig can utilize this graphic card 100%?
    P/S: I don’t play overclock.
    Thanks for reading.

  • Are there any scanners that are compatible with OS X Yosemite?

I just bought the iMac with the 5k screen
    27-inch: 3.5GHz with Retina 5K display
    3.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i5
    Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz
    8GB (two 4GB) memory
    1TB Fusion Drive1
AMD Radeon R9 M290X with 2GB video memory
I also bought a new scanner (Canon Scan 9000F MK II) but it's software isn't compatible with Yosemite "iOS 10.10". I returned that scanner and started searching for another one only to find out that most or all scanners and printers (at this point) are not compatible with Yosemite. So far, I haven't found one.
I was wondering if you could direct me to a scanner and printer that were compatible with Yosemite this way I can start using my new computer.
    Thanks!
    Michael

So I returned the previous scanner and purchased the Epson Perfection V600 Photo. I'm still having the same problems and I downloaded the latest driver for it. I also downloaded the driver for my previous Canon Scanner before I returned it. It wasn't working the way I wanted it to work.
It wasn't the scanner after all but I do like the epson better. When I get it to scan, it's scans faster and has more resolution options.
    Anyway
Basically I want to be able to scan in Photoshop CC but it's not working the way it used to in previous machines/OSs/photoshops.
I used to be able to go FILE>IMPORT>SCANNER NAME and then continually scan until I was finished. That is not the case and I have noticed it's a problem throughout when doing some research to fix it. I can scan continually if I got to my system preferences, select the "PRINTERS and SCANNERS"  and then click "Open scanner".
In photoshop CC I can only get one scan and then I have to close photoshop if I want to do another scan. It's annoying knowing that I was able to in previous machines. Any solutions or plug-ins that I'm missing?
Thanks so much for everyone helping out!
    Michael

  • Illustrator CC isn't compatible with my 2011 imac

I tried downloading illustrator CC tonight, only to find out it's not compatible with my imac. I'm wondering if I have to purchase a new computer. Here are my specs:
    21.5-inch, Mid 2011
Processor  2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory  4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics  AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB
    Software  OS X 10.9.1 (13B42)
I currently own Cs6 and that's running fine. Does CC require more GHZ or memory in order to be compatible? I'm not sure what to do in this situation..

    Hi,
What exact is the issue ?
    1) You are not able to download it through Adobe Creative Cloud application ?
    2) AI CC is installed on your system but it displays a warning dialog of compatabilty when launched ?
If 2nd is the case then can you share the screen shot of the dialog with us.
    With Best Regards,

I can't tell you why, but I can tell you that Apple published the list of supported hardware on its website quite a while ago. The oldest MacBook Pro model that supports Mountain Lion is the Mid/Late 2007 model. You have the late 2006 model.
Details are (and have been) here:

I know that some notebooks cannot be upgraded this way and I know if I can I need one that is compatible with mine. What I need to know first off is IF I CAN and if i can i need either a list of ones that will work or something to refer to when I go to buy one. • Is Fios compatible with Windows 7 64-Bit?

I would like to know if Verizon FIOS is compatible with windows 7 64-bit because I've seen some topics on the internet where there are problems with it. If you need more info about the computer, please let me know, but keep in mind that my computer has pretty decent specs. (corei7 processor, Gigs of ram, ATI Radeon 5770, etc )
Thanks for any help you can give me.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

To expand on the first reply, I do have FiOS TV and internet, and there is absolutely no need to install any Verizon software on your computer to use the service. I do not currently have any installed on my Windows 7 64-bit system that I am typing this on right now, have been using this laptop since Oct 22, 2009 with Windows 7 on FiOS, works fine.
And if you do decide you want to install some Verizon software, my experience is that some probably will work, some probably will not. For example, the Verizon Call Assistant (VCA) client didn't work worth a *&^%#@, at least for me, but I don't need it as I have a very reliable Caller ID on TV setup and if I really need to access VCA I can use the website anyway. (and FWIW, that client didn't work correctly on Windows XP either!). I tried the PC-based In-Home Agent client, sort of seemed to work, but since I didn't have any problems or issues that needed to be fixed I deleted it.
Unless you really need a specific Verizon program, don't worry about it.
And just for completeness, I have not yet found any sofware, fee or free, from anybody, that won't work with FiOS, be it email (Windows Live Mail), browser (IE, Firefox, Safari, or Chrome), Avast anti-virus, etc, etc, etc. Of course I am sure that there is at least one program out there that won't work, but so far I have not found it
Edit: just saw your reply. I pay for 25 mbs down, 15 mbs up service, and I typically get 24+ down and 23+ up, wired or wireless, from multiple speed test sites, no tuning of Windows 7 on my part. It just works for me; some people do seem to have performance and/or connectivity issues, l don't and I don't know why they do. But one thing I will warn you about is that if you have a cordless phone (2.4 GHz) and you decide to use wireless, you may experience some connectivity problems when using the wireless connection, if you do try changing the channel number in the router to 1, 6, or 11.
    Hope this helps.
