Radeon HD 6970M driver update issue

I just got Battle Field 3 and it said i needed driver updates to my graphics card in order to play. So I went and tried to update like a fool without looking to see how on bootcamp. I updated to the latest driver and now my display resolution is  limited to 1600x1200. It wont give me the option to go up to the native resolution of 2560x1440. I know I probably did a lot wrong, but is there anyway to fix this?

I tried using the update to 9.2 (12.1 Catalyst) update technique, the one when graphic card shows as 6700M, but the drivers still froze my comp and had to manualy restart the laptop (this happens only when in fixed mode, otherwise while in dynamic mode it says the driver stoped responding but recovered and/or it just switches to the working graphic card).
Dont know why, but I am having a lot of issues with AMD drivers lattely and cant seem to get a stable driver setup, even when using the older offical version (in the link above). Acctualy this is also the reason why I would like to update my drivers, since stability was the only reason I was using obsolete drivers in the first place.
Is there any way to update drivers to the latest version, or close to the latest version, that works for all those hybrid HP laptops?
If any more info is needed please let me know...

  • Sol 10 driver update issues!

    Hey All;
I'm trying to install Solaris 10 1/06 (x86) from DVD onto our HP ProLiant DL585--we have 4 scsi disks, and I've configured the basic raid 5 array in the controller interface.
The problem happens when I try the driver update that's required in order for solaris to see the controller and disks. When we get to the 'select and installation type' menu, I'm picking "5 Apply driver updates", then choosing the floppy w/ the DU image from HP. That seems to go fine, but after it's extracted the driver to the miniroot system, I choose e for end (or maybe f for finished) and it goes straight into the interactive setup--there isn't an option to pick the solaris interactive text.
The problem with that is, the install hangs, and the solaris install manager screen says "failed to start the java VM" etc etc. It openes and interactive shell window, where I can run format and confirm that the disks are recognized now, but I can't seem to get any further. There is a note on the HP driver readme that says to select option 4 (solaris interactive text (console session), but I seem unable to specify the install option after doing the driver update.
Anyone have any advice for me? It's driving me slightly nutty at this point.

Now if you want to continue installation with option 4 then, install the drivers, and continue with the installation.
Hit escape when you see the Proposed Window system configuration for installation screen.... to go to the Current or Proposed Window System Configuration screen. Select F3 in the Current or Proposed Window System Configuration and the install will proceed as a text install.
    hope this will help.....

  • Jan 2014 Imaging driver update issues

I upgraded my ZCM Primary server from 11.2.2 to 11.2.4 over the weekend. Today I downloaded the Jan 2014 Imaging Driver update from the 11.2.4 patches page. I downloaded the zenworks11.2.4_MU1_Jan14 that said it was for 11.2.4 and 11.2.4 MU1. I followed the readme.txt file that says to run the imaging_driver_update.bat file. I ran this and I get:
"Applying wrong imagin driver updates........Exiting driver update."
Does anyone have any solutions to get this fixed up? If I go to %zenworks_home%\share\preboot\update and look at the ZUpdate.sig file it shows 112303 for the [zen_client_version] If I go into the ZCC management page and look under the primary server all of the version show correct as being 11.2.4.
Thanks for any information you can give. I also cannot PXE boot at this time as well. It gets through PXE fine and I choose "Start Zenworks Imaging Maintenance" from the Imaging menu screen and then it starts loading but then pops up "cannot connect to Zenworks repository" or something like that. I don't have it right in front of me now.
    Thanks for any help.

yes - read the screen when you go to the November Update you are redirected to the Monthly Update, sure - but at the top, with a bright yellow background are the words
"You have been automatically redirected to this patch because it supercedes the patch you originally requested. The patch you originally requested is still downloadable, click here to download it instead of this newer patch."
if you click on the link it takes you to the patch you want...

  • Satellite C660-23M - graphic driver update issue

New to this forum so dont know if this problem has been covered.
Have installed Photoshop elements 11 and premier elements 11.
The elements program runs ok but cannot get get premier elements to open new project. Adobe advised trying to update drivers which I have tried without success.
When running driver update on laptop it says latest driver installed. 8.15.10.2189
On checking Toshiba update site it shows later version 8.15.10.2353.
Have downloaded this ,I then unzipped it and it says will start automatic installation when finished but nothing happens.
Have tried several times but once unzipped it will not install.
Any help would be appreciated and infact confirmation of latest driver.

Just done a direct x scan and this is an extract of results.

  • HP Envy 15 1050NR Notebook PC ATI Driver Update Issue

    I have the following computer:
HP Envy 15 Notebook PC (15-1050NR)
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4830 Series (Driver Version: 8.712.0.0)
It has the latest driver from HP (circa 2010).
Since we can't use the AMD updates for this card, and HP hasn't updated, I am unable to play games like Titan Fall or Planetary Annihilation, even though I meet the hardware requirements.

I have tried this in the past before, and got the blue screen of death.  Just in case your link was different, I did try it too.  But still got the blue screen of death.

Anyone have any idea what to do?

    Hi @Anni_V
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
It is a terrific place to find answers.
For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide Learn How to Post and More
I grasp that you updated your system to Windows 7 professional. All was working well until an automated Windows update was installed and now the fingerprint reader is not working.
You have tried to reinstalling the original driver but receive an error when trying to uninstall it.
Would you try deleting the driver and not uninstalling it.
There is also a Digital Persona Fingerprint Reader Software(null) ,have you tried deleting/uninstalling and reinstalling it?
If the issue remains, as it was working until the update was installed you can try a restore or removing that particular update.
Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7)
To view the installed updates go to the control panel/programs and features/view installed updates.
If you believe the updates caused the issue you can
If the recovery partition is still intact you could try reinstalling the driver from it.  Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 7)
    I hope this helps!

  • Satellite L670-1KZ - driver update & issue with ARMA II game

    Hi everybody,
I just bought this satellite L670-1KZ in France, and I already found fews updates.

    2) ABOUT THE VIDEO CARD :
Also, before I had a Amilo Xi 2550-8009 that melt last week, I changed it for this Toshiba, but I am facing a problem with a game ARMA II.
The error message I got is : "Error compiling pixel shader", with black screen and a "ping" noise.
I don't understand because I found a comparative test with a GeForce and my current HD5650 that is supposed to support this shader stuff.
Did you manage to run ARMA II on your laptop ? If yes, what did I miss ?
Thanks in advance for your feedback fully appreciated,
    G2MARS

    Hi Syntax,
yes agree, you're so right, I just got 3BDO within 20 minutes today, still trying to understand why.
    Signature du problme*:
    Nom dvnement de problme: BlueScreen
    Version du systme: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
    Identificateur de paramtres rgionaux: 1036
    Informations supplmentaires sur le problme*:
    BCCode: d1
    BCP1: 0000000000000028
    BCP2: 0000000000000002
    BCP3: 0000000000000000
    BCP4: FFFFF8800176EB2D
    OS Version: 6_1_7601
    Service Pack: 1_0
    Product: 768_1
It might come from those damned update I did.... The last one is about the video card on the pilot update through driver device, right click, update.
I was surprised he did it, but, I suspect I had a BDO before that, can't remember.
Then... Still trying to identify the reason, I might go back to the older pilot version.
About Arma 2,on the very good website "Can I run it" it said there was a problem with the video card
    Video Card
Recommended: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT / ATI Radeon HD 4850 with Shader Model 3 and 512 MB VRAM or faster
You Have: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
Upgrade Suggested: Unfortunately, your Video Card does not meet this requirement. In the other hand I found this website with a test that compared the HD5650 with a GeForce, they said :
"La Mobility Radeon HD 5650 se montre ici bien plus performante que le GeForce GT 420M qui se relgu la dernire place par le GT 330M, plus performant sur ce jeu galement."
The HD5650 is more performant than the GeForce GT 420M .... If you understand something let me know cause I don't !
    [TEST ATI and GEFORCE|http://www.clubic.com/carte-graphique/carte-graphique-nvidia/geforce-400-series/article-363820-3-test-nvidia-geforce-gt-420m.html]
Amazing, because this game ran on my Amilo xi 2550-8009 and a ATI Radeon HD 2700 256 Mo.
And Arma II Operation Arrowhead didn't show this error message, but, didn't run so well even with low graphic option,I just downloaded a ultimate patch v1.59, to be followed.

  • NVIDIA GeForce 9400M Driver update issue

After entering the information in the NVIDIA driver search, I'm being told that the latest driver is the "Quadro Mac OS X Driver Release 256". However, after downloading it and trying to install the driver I keep getting an error that says "this computer will not support this NVIDIA graphics solution".
I've installed the latest CUDA drivers beforehand like it says, and that has worked out fine. Not sure what I'm missing with this though.

I'm getting the driver from the official NVIDIA website.
That is the problem. The only place to download any type of updates for a Mac are from Software Update, otherwise you will run into issues such as the one you just experienced. I'm guessing you may have come from the Windows world where it's regular practice to have to go searching for new drivers, with OS X you no longer have to do this. Run Software Update and if it finds updates for your machine install them. You can also set Software Update to check on a regular basis in System Preferences - Software Update.

  • Driver update issues?: wireless LAN no longer works

    Hi,
I'm using an X200 (7458-CTO, XP SP3). For a week (or a couple?) I've been unable to use Access Connections (AC) to get my wireless to work. When I uninstall-reinstall the driver (for the 5300 AGN) I can get Windows to do it for me -- but I have no luck with AC.
Posters with the same problem -- but other makes/models, usually T60's or T61's -- have suggested that it was related to updating several (4-5) drivers; this issue was solved in their forum (see thread titled "Access Connections 4.52 upgrade: fails to detect any WiFi networks"). The solution, however, appears to be specific to the T60-61.
This issue is not debilitating, but it *is* annoying, since it requires uninstalling-reinstalling the driver each and every time I go online, and I can't use AC (which I previously loved).
    Ideas?

    Hi denaliwoman,
    Welcome to the Lenovo forum
If it were me, I would simply remove Access Connections, and use the standard XP wireless tools. But it sounds like you much prefer to use AC... may I ask why?
    Best regards,
    Frank
Edit: Just came across this post, which may help if you want to keep Access Connections.

  • Radeon HD 6770M driver update

    Hi;
I am owner of HP Pavilion dv7-6b21em, and have this problem since the purchase. I bought my laptop a while back (dec 2011) and were unable to update my driver since...i have 8.882.300 driver version from 30.9.2011...I run windows 7 home edition as suplied by HP.  It has ati(amd)/intel switchable graphics.
The drivers are a big issue in my laptop performance and have caused quite a few crashes now, so I would like to update them, but have found no new drivers at HPs homepage (driver suport one) and the driver I am curently using seems to be the last HP suported driver.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=si&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5194...
Has anyone found a stable way to update the drivers to newer versions?
Any help would really be aprishiated, since theese lack of HP suport is really rubbing me the wrong way (since the last offical drivers were released even before I bought my laptop!)...I mean I am using driver thath is older then my laptop is - well atleast from my purchase...I know saying this on HPs forum might not be the best way to aproach to solution finding, but I just cant understand why a big company like HP doesnt make any effort to update the drivers for the products it sells...
    Cheers
    P.s.
Sorry for the grammar, not my native language.
    P.p.s
I also tried a few unofical ones (I think some Russian guy was working on them - sorry but forgot his name...but all credits for the effort in trying to do what, in my opinion, HP should have done though), a while back, but were unstable for me (worked great for some other people, as far as I could tell from the forum posts), so I switched back to official ones. I was reading somewhere the semioffical release of the drivers for hybrid graphic was released by AMD, and it was kind of suported by HP, but cant find the drivers or better the ones I tried didnt work - must have done something wrong during the instalation it seems...

  • Synaptic TouchPad Driver update issue

I am having issues with the touchpad update. I have a HP 15, non touch screen version, and the update will download but fail to install. Is this an issue with the udate it self or is it something to do with my PC?

    Hi there @smiling_guy92
I understand that your touchpad drivers did not update properly. I am happy to help with this.
I assume you are using the HP Support Assistant for your updates. With that in mind,  please see the following, which should help with any issues with that software.

  • ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 video driver update

I updated my video driver using the Lenovo update.  The updated driver, 8.533.3.1-081110a-075168 79d177ww.exe is causing me to have extremely slow response time that I didn't experience previously. I am running with XP Professional (SP2).  Is there a way to go to a back-level driver?  Even typing this note is painfully slow. I have the latest BIOS and Presentation Manager.

you could also download the Omega ATI catalyst driver, which works just as great and have some more features.

    Hello
I have a laptop Toshiba SatellIte A100-220 and I can not find the latest driver for Ati Radeon Xpress 200M, could you help me?

I presume that you know that you should use drivers from Toshiba support page. Have you already checked latest version there?

  • Lenovo G700 Nvidia Driver Update Issue

I have a new G700 which has outdated graphics drivers on it. I've tried both installing the drivers manually from Nvidia, and by also using the GeForce Experience software to install the drivers, and both give me an error that states "This graphics could not find supported graphics hardware."  What do I need to do to install the current drivers for this notebook?

I tried to change the BIOS settings, however the only graphics options I'm presented with are the choice between "Optimus" or "UMA-Only." From what I understand, the latter sets it so that only the integrated (Intel HD) graphics are used and the Optimus utilizes switching techology. I would be fine with the switching if I could actually find a way to see that it works, as I've yet to see it switch over to the nvidia card.
The card was installed by Lenovo and came installed with the new notebook purchase.

  • IMac 27" 2011 with Dead Graphic Card AMD Radeon HD 6970M

    Hello
I'm from Thailand and my iMac 27" mid-2011 model is malfunctioning. I have windows 7 installed and I can use it only on safemode or when I disable the graphic card AMD Radeon HD 6970M. Updating the driver won't help at all.
I talked to the local iservice and he says it will cost me $570 just to replace this card. I find it very expensive.
Now I have learned that there is this replacement program http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5167 for the graphic card issue. I'd like to know if I am part of this. I'm not sure if I'm under any service coverage since it's been after many years of purchase.

You should be covered - usually replacement programs last for 3 years from the latest date of consumer purchase (when apple discontinues the model). This is typical, but by no means concrete as I have nothing to do with Apple or its replacement policies. Your model also meets those specifications. Since the replacement program is stated as wordwide, it should also be applicable in your country.
