Radio Button color
Hi,
When my program displays, the radio buttons are gray in color.
Is there a way I can set just the circle to white without making the whole label display white?
Thanks in advance.
Carol.
try this
JPanel panel = new JPanel();
JRadioButton button = new JRadioButton("button");
button.setBackground(Color.WHITE);
button.setContentAreaFilled(false);
panel.add(button);
getContentPane().add(panel);
setSize(200,200);
setVisible(true);

When hovering over a radio button, how do you change the fill color of the radio button? The default appears to be a shaded orange, but I want the flexibility to change colors, as needed.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
jason@jonesTry using the setBackground or setForeground methods. If that doesn't work, look through the docs for any other methods that change the color. If those don't work, look into writing a custom ui component, which is not trivial.

Required Radio Button Colored Red in a Dynamic Form
Hi again
Okey, like the headline said, I've got some problems with required radio buttons right now. In static fields they have a border when they are required.
In dynamic forms they neither have, nor get any border.
I tried already:
1) to make a border with script (unfortunatelly it takes in the text too and is much smaller than the normal required border and will include the text => looks really ugly)
2) to paint a border with lines (unfortunatelly the box itself overlaps the border only for 0,02mm (couldn't fix it) and it looks damn ugly )
3) Cut the text out, write it in a textfield instead and border the complete box (Best solution right now... though a lot of work and won't look very good either)
Since I needed to change 25 of my forms to dynamic and all of them have some of those required radiobuttons in it, I would appreciate ANY solution that would look a little bit acceptable.
Anybody has any other idea how to get such a border (or anything similar) for these boxes?
Thanx already
Lisa
(PS.: I only use quadratic check-fields
PPS.: Sorry to bother you in the last time that much... I really try )Sorry to say, but I think you got me a bit wrong.
It's not the radiobuttons that got in my way, it is the way they are displayed. (A field to enter information and a text. If you refer with a colour in it and it is in a dynamic form both, the input part and the text will be highlighted.)
I wanted to accomplish the following thing:
Make some kind of radiobutton or checkboxfield where only the little input part is red highlighted (with a border or something).
But neither in radiobuttons nor in checkboxes it works, does it?
Therefor it is no use in using checkboxes I think. If I do wrap those into subforms and highlight those again, not only the input part will be highlighted but also the following text. (That's why I don't understand how subforms could be of any use )
Right now I seperated the input part from the text and just highlighted the input field. Though it still doesn't look as good as I would like it to do.
If I got you wrong plz say so I am a bit tired right now and my English gets worse ;D
I'll have a closer look at those pages you suggested me on tuesday. (I'm a bit in trouble right now)
Thanx for providing me with information though
I'm allways greatfull to learn some new things ;D
(Silly people (like me) just can't learn enough so they could hide how dump they are ;D )

How to create a radio button that changes colors
I'm using Acrobat X and ID CS5 on Mac OS X.
A couple of years ago someone on the forums explained to me how to create a button that changes color with each click. You can view a sample PDF at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/52882455/colorcycle.pdf. They gave me the document JS and showed me how to set the properties of the button. I've integrated the button into a particular series of PDF forms and it's worked out very well.
Now I would like to do the same thing, but using a circle instead of a square. Can anyone tell me the best way to do this? Can I somehow set a radio button to cycle through colors in the same way? I design my forms initially in ID CS5 and then activate and format the fields in Acrobat X. I've tried using circles instead of squares in my ID document, but when I export to an interactive PDF, they're converted to squares.
Any ideas?I understand how to make buttons cycle through colors-- the problem I'm having is that I'm trying to figure out how to make a circular button cycle through colors. When I export my ID document to PDF, my round button maintains it's original appearance, but when I click on it to cycle through the colors, it behaves like a square (see new PDF at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/52882455/colorcycle2.pdf).
If I use a radio button, I can get it to cycle through colors, but I don't want it to have a black dot in the middle. Is there a way to format the radio button to not show the black dot when clicked? -
Skin or change color of selected radio button or selected checkbox
I'm creating a custom CSS and I want to change the color of the checkmark (or the icon used) for selected radio buttons/checkboxes. Right now it's green (because it's using the simple stylesheet) but I don't know what element I can use to change the color or skin it. I've tried the af:selectBooleanCheckbox and af:selectBooleanRadio (even though they say they are only for disabled and read-only) but they don't appear to do anything... what do I use?
Have a look at
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/jsf/doc/skin-selectors.html
Searh e.g for
af:selectBooleanCheckbox Component

Changing The Text Color In a Radio Button Component
Hi,
I'm using a background in my frame , so I need to know how
to change the color of the Radio Button Component. I tried using
the Property Inspector , but in that the color option is disabled.
The Flash version I'm using is Flash 8. Kindly provide me a
solution for this.
Thanks In Advance,
Lokesh RThere's a topic about this in the Flash help, about changing
components. You need to edit the file inside your Flash
installation folder, and make a copy of it to your liking.
But about radio buttons: is there any way to include them in
your project while maintaining the possibility of on(Keypress)
events? -
Custom Color Picker using Radio buttons??
I'm trying to create a custom color picker as Apex color picker has tooo many colors. I thought a radio button would work if I could program the text to also display the color, but the following sql shows the formatted text in the result.
SELECT '<font color="'||color_id||'"><b>'||color_name||'</b></font>' d, color_name r FROM colors
<font color="#F0F8FF"><b>AliceBlue</b></font>
<font color="#FAEBD7"><b>AntiqueWhite</b></font>
<font color="#00FFFF"><b>Aqua</b></font>
<font color="#7FFFD4"><b>Aquamarine</b></font>
I know I can make text different colors in a report using this technique.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

The font element has been deprecated for many years, is now obsolete, and must not be used by authors.
To control the presentation of text, use a suitable semantic text element with CSS. If no suitable semantic text element exists, use span:
<span style="color: #00FFFF; font-weight: bold;">Aqua</span> -

Radio Buttons w/ Multiple Values on a PHP Form
Hi,
I have an Online Registration form with several options that each have their own prices. I want the form results to show the name of each option the user selects, and the total of all the prices combined. My question is how can I do that when each radio button only allows you to attach one value? Is there a way to somehow retrieve the option name and price as two separate values?
<input name="option" type="radio" value="Cotton - $10" />
<input name="option" type="radio" value="Suede - $15" />
<input name="option" type="radio" value="Leather - Black - $20" />
<input name="option" type="radio" value="Leather - White - $20" />
For example, if they select 'Leather - Black - $20" I want to be able to retrieve one value of "Leather - Black" and another value of "20.00" (to add to the total price) rather than simply "Leather - Black - $20" in one value.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've only had to deal with one value for each radio button in the past.
Thanks!
PaulYes you can do this. If I were you I would eliminate the space in the value just to eliminate confusion. Then when you process the variable use the Explode function ( http://php.net/manual/en/function.explode.php ) to separate the values in your string. So if you eliminate the space your code would look like:
$_POST['option'] = $option;
$option = explode ("-",$option);
print $option[0]; //This would print the material
print $option[1]; //This would print the price
The only trick is your first two options don't have a color. So your arrays would be different. To offset this I would recommend that you use the same format for all options and make some sort of null value if nothing will be added for one value in the array, ie: color. -
Using a dropdown box to change the specified value of a radio button?
I have a form that generates the body text for an email.
First there is a dropdown box in which the choices are either "red" or "blue"
Further down the page, there is a radiobutton list with 2 items "available" and "unavailable".
The specified values for these items (as defined on the binding tab) are "have blue hats" or "do not have blue hats".
This value is concatenated in the email body textfield which is to be copied by the user to an email body:
Concat("Dear", NameField, "," We ", RadioButtonList, " today. ") // Dear Persons Name, We have blue hats today.
Is there any way to change the value of the selected radio button based on the selected dropdown choice?
So if the user selected "red" in the dropdown field, the radio button values could become "have red hats" or "do not have red hats"?
Or perhaps there is a better way from the start?
Thanks!Ok, so now I've done that...
But is there a way to change that value with another field (ie when a user chooses "red" or "blue" in a dropdown box) so that the concatenated message reflects both the users choice of color and the availibility?
I'm guessing I should probably use an intermediary text box and put
InterText.rawValue = Concat ("We have ', dropdown1, " hats today") in the change event of the available radio button and:
InterText.rawValue = Concat ("We do not have ', dropdown1, " hats today") in the change event of the unavailable radio button.
then concatenate that box in the final textbox. -
Hi Everyone, I have posted this question in the past and made huge progress with Denes Kubicek's help: https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=31517:294:115851992029365::::: based on my earlier question posted: https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2537494
I am struggling with one item in my tabular form. It is a radio button. The choices all appear properly, but the value is not saved in the collection (and hence, not saved in the table). All other items in the tabular form save properly.
here is what I have for the query. It is item c024 (which maps to ;'f03'), which is defined as a radio LOV based on an existing LOV.
Currently I have:
2 page items:
P110_ID
P110_VALUE
Dynamic action called CHANGE COLUMN:
event: CHANGE
selection type: jQUERY Selector
jQuery:
jQuery Select = input[name='f03'],select[name'f08'],select[name='f09'],input[name='f10'],input[name='f11'],input[name='f12'],select[name='f40'],input[name='f21'],input[name='f22'],input[name='f23'],input[name='f50']
event scope: Dynamic
true action#1: set value P110_ID javascript expression this.triggeringElement.id
true action#2: set value P110_VALUE javascript expression this.triggeringElement.value
true action#3: execute pl/sql code

safis_collections.update_column(v_seq,
v_member,

the tabular form is based on the query:

I have noticed the following:
when I change column C011 (price) the following values are set in the dynamic action:
P110_ID = f11_1
P110_VALUE = whatever I change the price to.
when I change the column C024 (hms_flag), the following values are set:
P110_ID = f03_0001
P110_VALUE = whatever I change hms_flag to.
the region is refreshed in my dynamic action, and the change for hms_flag does not hold. I have tested the SQL query that generates the value for v_SEQ in the dynamic action. In both a change to price and HMS_FLAG it appears valid
select ltrim(substr(:p110_ID,5,4),'0') into v_seq from dual;
if f11_1, v_seq:= 1
if f03_0001, v_seq := 1
thank you!solved. sort of.
field c024 references f03.
the Dynamic ACtion, step 4 calculates v_member by taking a substring of P110_ID...and in all other fields, the column and the field (fxx) are the same value....except for c024.
I am not certain exactly how to resolve, but see the problem. -
Report should executed based on the radio buttons on the selection screen
Hi everyone,
Greets....................
My scenario is I have 2 selection screen blocks on same screen..
One selection screen block contains input parameters as follows
Company Code - S_BUKRS
Business Area - S_GSBER
Customer Code - S_KUNNR
Fiscal Area - S_GJAHR
GL Account - S_HKONT
Posting Date -S_ZFBDT
Ledger Type -P_RLDNR
Open Item Key Date - P_ZFBDT
Another selection screen block contains 2 radio buttons with the option as follows
Collection Plan
*Credit days summary.
If i click Collection plan the report output should come based on the input parameters in first selection-screen block.
If i click Credit days summary the report output should come based on the input parameters in first selection-screen block.
Pls send me the sample code for this.
Thanks in Advance
Regards
Raj kumarSee the below folling example : it will have radio buttons and depends on radio button it will show output.

Acrobat 9-forms-Radio buttons print different than check boxes
I am using Acrobat Pro 9 to create forms.
I've used both radio buttons and check boxes (that are circles).
Forms were designed in InDesign with Zapf Dingbats as the open circles to be filled in.
I used radio buttons when the user had to pick one over the other.
I used check boxes when there were multiple choices or I wanted the user to be able to uncheck a box. (I used the circle style so they would look like radio buttons).
The radio buttons are printing differently than the check boxes. It looks almost like there is an overlay on top of the actual open circle created by Zapf Dingbats.
I checked the "appearance" window and there is no border or fill color on the radio buttons (same for the check boxes).
Under the <general> tab, <common properties> is visible. I'm assuming it should be in order for the radio button to appear on the form.
I would appreciate any input as to how to fix this.
Thansk!
MaureenThat's just the way radio buttons are, and one reason I rarely use them in preference to check boxes. If Adobe wanted to, they could allow you to use any appearance you want for both the selected an unselected state of a check box or radio button, but they've actually further restricted your options over the years.

Radio Button Widget Highlight Options
In Captivate 5.5, is it possible for the standard radio button widget (RadioButtons.swf) to not have a highlight color behind the text? I just want a transparent background with text so the master slide background shows. Adjusting the Alpha Channel only effects the radio buttons themselves, not the highlight color.
Hello and welcome to the forum,
But I have bad news, having explored this widget a lot, and struggled with that 'highlight color' a lot. I try to put it on a uniform colored background and apply the background color as a Highlight. Didn't find another way.
Perhaps a tip: do download the enhanced version of this widget, that allows you to control it more (variable can be changed by advanced actions and displayed). It was created by Jim Leichliter (CaptivatePro) and it is FREE:
