Radio doesn't appear in iTunes Library

I noticed that "radio" doesn't appear in my iTune's Library.  I opened up iTune "Preferences" hoping to just check "radio" in "General preferenes" panel.  However, it is grayed out and I'm unable to select it.  What can be the reason and what can be done?
Thanks for any suggestions.

You're right!!!  It was blocked by parental control.  Once unblocked it appeared.  Thanks!!

So I go to file add folder to library,
    Choose the file
    Hit OK
and it doesn't appear in iTunes...
    can any one help

It will be recognised as a camera if you have photos on that were taken with it, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc i.e. it is how you can copy them to your computer - but that shouldn't stop it appearing in iTunes.
Try turning the camera notification off disconnect and re-connect your iPad and see if it then appears in iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1500
If that doesn't work then there is iPad/PC/iTunes troubleshooting in this page which might help http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538

I just installed itunes on a Windows 7 PC. When I click on the Itunes icon the following message appears -
The Itunes Library.itl file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the "Itunes" folder in the "Music" folder.
I have checked and there is a file named Library.itl in the "Music" folder. I'm not sure where to go from here so any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • I have a MacBook Pro, I want to copy Itunes files to an SD card to play in my car, the SD Card doesn't appear in Itunes when I insert it, and I don't know how to convert the files to the correct format, can anyone help?

I have a MacBook Pro, I want to copy Itunes files to an SD card to play in my car, the SD Card doesn't appear in Itunes when I insert it, and I don't know how to convert the files to the correct format, can anyone help?
    Thank you

So it seems from reading the COMMAND manual that my first issue is that I used a 16GB SD card, and the manual says it will only recogize up to a 2GB SD card. I did use my MB Air's SD card slot and crated a folder and dragged the music files to it, then to the card. So I am going to get a 2GB card and try that next. Otherwise just stick with the iPOD connected. At least that is 8GB

  • ITunes doesn't create an "iTunes Library" file

I'm desperate - since a couple of days every time I restart my computer iTunes library is empty, I have to move all the content to the library again. And subscribe to all the 39 podcasts again!!!
Next day... everything starts from the beginning!
I've read the support pages for iTunes and found out that my iTunes doesn't save an "iTunes Library" file in the Music/iTunes folder. Instead, it creates hundreds of temporary files (iT 1.tmp, iT 2.tmp, iT 3.tmp, and so on).
It happened before upgrading to iTunes 10 - I upgraded thinking that it could help, but nothing changed.
Anyone had a similar problem? Please help me!

Yes, I moved the iTunes folder to the shared folder
Made an alias and moved it to my Users/myhome/music and removed the alias symbol.
If you moved the entire iTunes folder and created aliases, that would be the reason that iPhoto and iMovie can't find the proper file. You should only have moved the 'iTunes Music' folder
Many applications don't perform well when files are to be opened and stored using an alias.
I'm pretty sure iTunes creates an updated .xml file every time you make changes, but it's at the wrong location for iPhoto and iMovie to find it.
I tried what you did, by moving my (test) iTunes folder to the Shared folder, create an alias, renamed it to 'iTunes' and put it at ./Users/Username/Music.
Neither iPhoto and iMovie were able to find my (test) music files.
Those apps. will only look at ./Users/Username/Music/iTunes for the .xml file and obviously cannot find it using the alias.
I tried the same procedure using a symbolic link (a 'better' alias) and that worked out alright. You can create a symbolic link by using the Terminal (take a look at this brief tutorial), but it's more convenient to use SymbolicLinker. After installing it, you can then easily create a symlink of a file or folder by control-clicking on it and choosing 'Make Symbolic Link' from the contextual menu.
If you want to know more about symlinks in general, take a look at this Wiki or Google for "Symbolic Link Macintosh" (without the quotes) to find more articles.
While symlinks do work in this case (at least on my system), I will give you the link to the article which describes the 'Apple preferred way' to share your music (in case symlinks don't work on your system).
iTunes: How to share music between different accounts on a single computer tells you two methods. You can use either of them.

  • IPhone 3G doesn't appear in iTunes 10.6.3

After upgrading to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 a few weeks ago, I was unable to see my iPhone 3G in iTunes.  I downloaded the latest version of iTunes, which fixed the problem, and I've synced once or twice since then.  Today the device once again doesn't show up in iTunes.  The cable works, since iPhoto (7.1.5) recognizes the device and downloads photos just fine.  iTunes may not be totally to blame, since it can recognize my old iPod (1.1.2). The phone is on iOS 4.2.1.  Restarting the phone and the computer made no difference.  Any ideas for fixes?

Apple's support is worthless - it tells you what programs are needed on your computer and how to find if they are running, but fails to tell you how to install what might be missing. My iPhone would synch fine until I updated to iTunes 7, but now my computer thinks my phone is a camera and doesn't appear on iTunes. None of the support pages provide any help. It appears that Apple has adopted the Microsoft model for customer disservice! Any third party assistance would be greatly appreciated.

when i try to open itunes ,this written appears :"The iTunes Library file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file. "What does it mean?

To solve this issue all I did was check to ensure that the file permissions were set as described by the earlier posts, followed by simply deleting the iTunes Library Genius.itdb file.  Once the file was deleted I was able to open iTunes without difficulty.  Note that I am running Windows 8.  Hope this helps!

  • IPhone doesn't appear in iTunes - tried everything

    Hi there,
ok, my 3G iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes!!! I have tried reinstalling iTunes, removing the AppleMobileDevice extension, numerous restarts, hard reset the phone a couple of times. I deleted a podcast I tried to download over the air, deauthorised and authorised my iMac. Nothing!
Any other ideas. My phone does appear in iPhoto when opened. I am really lost now. I did change my AppleID recently, is that it?
Please help. I am going to try another Mac this lunch time, see if that helps. Perhaps its the phone?
    Thanks!!

Yahooo! Its fixed. At the direction of an iPhone Developer (thanks to Steve Troughton-Smith!) I installed (or possibly reinstalled) iPhoneSystemComponents.pkg and now I can sync and so on!

  • Ipod doesn't appear in itunes or on desktop - trouble transfering music

When connecting Ipod, it doesn't appear in itunes or on desktop (Windows). Attempted to fix.
Reinstalled itunes and ipod, also upgraded itunes - no success in fixing.
Restored ipod (through computer)- no success in fixing - and of course, lost all songs in ipod.
Now, ipod sometimes appears in itunes, sometimes doesn't.
I've had a little success transfering songs (albeit, inconsistently) back to ipod from itunes, but sporadically.
    Itunes is working fine when playing songs on computer;
Ipod working fine when playing songs on ipod. It's difficult transferring songs back to ipod. I checked cable and port with other equipment. Cable and port appear to be working. When clicking on Safely Remove Hardware, computer identifies ipod as "drive 0." I need help on how to get my ipod to appear in itunes again and fix the transfering problem?

  • Iphone 4s doesn't appear in itunes following iOS 6 installation

iphone 4s doesn't appear in itunes following iOS 6 installation
    can someone help me out?

No dice. See my comment above; I already turned that on before posting.
To get your device to appear in iTunes and to automatically sync with iTunes, simply disable backup to iCloud on your iOS device. Voila! Your iOS device will appear in iTunes and auto-sync the selected content. For example, I'm now subscribing to a ton of podcasts that I used to manually download one-by-one b/c the tethered syncing process was just too painful. Now that my iPhone 4S appears as an always-connected device in iTunes, the latest versions of my podcasts shall auotmatically appear on the iPhone when I awake in the morning before my long commute to work.
