Radio FM in Playbook (again)

I know this issue has been already covered in some threads, but I don't know if the answer is still the same after 2.0 OS and the increment of Apps available since last year.
I ordered a Playbook (to be received tomorrow :-) ) and after some investigation I read the Playbook is equipped with a Texas Instrument WL1283C chip which not only handles the WiFi and Bluetooth, but also a powerful FM Radio.
Is there any app (included in 2.0, or made by a third-part) to turn this radio on?

I am not aware of any "on-device" or native OS FM radio functions. Perhaps it has yet to be implemented, or awaiting a third party to develop an app to use it?

ITunes radio "Station Unavailable" Try again.

Some iTunes radio channels on my iPhone 5S appear with the following message "iTunes radio "Station Unavailable" Try again." I tried the same stations on my MacBook pro and iPhone 5C and they work just fine. I hard reset my phone, removed all the channels, and singed out and in of iTunes, but the problem still persist. Any ideas?

Happy New Year! If you get the "Station Unavailable" message while listening to iTunes Radio, try the following:
1) Close the Music app
2) Restart the iPhone
This will reset the connection between your device and the iTunes Store.

Having trouble charging my playbook again

i am having trouble again with charghig my playbook. it works fine for a ehile then when its time to charge it it wont accect the charger. tried the power + and- volume thing but still wont charge

On iTunes Radio, after a human voice comeson to say, "You are listening to iTunes Radio," there is silence and I need to shut down iTunes and restart it to hear music again. Why is this happening?.

When I listen to iTunes radio, that I love, a human voice comes on not infrequently to tell us, "You are listening to iTunes radio." After that no more music. Silence. I need to close down iTUnes and restart it and resume Radio to hear music again. Why is this happening??

Thanks for the reply. What I found to be the problem was my external hard drive. It would go to sleep and would not wake up when I wanted to get into my media files. This has been frustrating, to say the least. I have a Seagate Network 2TB connected. Seems I've had my share of problems with Seagate. I plan to replace this device with something more Mac friendly.

Multiple sets of radio buttons no longer working

Hello All:
My first post so I apologize in advance if I don't do it
properly.
I have a few web forms that have multiple groups of radio
buttons on them that are suddenly errorring out since we moved to
CF 7. I started tinkering with the one form that I have posted the
code for and kept cutting it down to the simplest code that begins
to produce the error. If I just use 1 radio button group everything
works fine, but the minute I add the second one, the whole thing
throws a "Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression"
message. Each radio button group has it's own group name and a
checked value. It is very simple code and very frustrating why it
has suddenly stopped working so any assistance is welcome.

OK. I took out the extra comma. Put a space in after *survey*
and put "form" in front of the variables in order to scope them. I
got it to work just then and decided to add the next radio button
and once again, the error message keeps coming up.

PLAYBOOK WILL NOT BOOT UP AND NO RESOLUTION IN SIGHT

Hi All,
I bought my PB quite recently and now my PB can not boot up and there is NO RESOLUTION in sight. I don't even know whether my problem is software or battery related.
First my PB can not boot up. The last time I used it , the power level was just under 50%. I managed to charge PB to full power (I knew this because LED showed a solid green light). When I tried to start PB, LED showed a red light briefly (for 4 seconds) then everything went off.
I tried all the solutions appeared in this web site:
1/connect to a power charger then press power on/off button for (10,20,30, and more seconds)
2/connect to a laptop and press power on/off button for (10,20,30, and more seconds)
3/start PB by holding down power on/off and + and - buttons at the same time for 10,20,30, and more seconds
4/start PB by holding down power on/off and + and - buttons at the same time for 10,20,30, and more seconds with friends (several friends will help me pressing these buttons in different combinations while other check the clock for 10,20,30, or more seconds). (we were called victims of PlayBook around the office nowadays).
Anyone has other solutions for us ?

Try plugging the PlayBook into your computer, then open the BlackBerry Desktop Software. Your computer will try to connect to your PlayBook and when it is unsuccessful in doing this, it should show a message on the screen saying that the Desktop Software cannot connect to your device and will give you a few options. Select the option to update the device software. This will likely wipe your PlayBook and return it to factory condition, but at least you will have a functioning PlayBook again.
If that still doesn't work, go to http://blackberry.com/support/, select PlayBook, then choose the Contact Us tab. You should now be provided with a phone number you can use to contact RIM in your country.

Asha 311 radio application does not close.

The radio application in my asha 311 does not close. I tried using the back button first, but when I swiped the screen the radio showed up so I used the end call button and then it showed "Radio Off". But then again when I swiped to check whether the radio has closed, the radio came up once again. I tried switching off the mobile and turning it on. That didn't help either. Tried connecting, disconnecting the headsets and i still have the radio open. I am unable to close it. Any suggestions?

Hey, its nothing wrong. You've added shortcut to radio on the swipe screen. That's why it shows you the radio screen

A radio on lightweight APs periodically go down

We have a 4402 controller running code 6.0.196.0 - APs periodically lose their A radio. Resetting the AP brings the radio back online, but after a few weeks or so, an AP's A radio will do it again. It's not always the same AP, but there is one particular AP that's had this happen more often than others and it's always just the A radio.
Could this be a bug in the code? Or is this a hardware issue?
I can open a case but thought I'd throw it out on the forum first.

If you have other AP's that are the same model and are not having issues, then most likely its an issue with those AP's. You would see crash files in the flash that can give you an idea of what happened. I would upgrade the code also on the WLC, but make sure your ap's are supported on the code version.

Why when iphone 5 locks my sirius radio show also stops

I have listened to sirius/xm for a long time on my Iphone 5, when the phone auto locks it keeps playing, always has
now when it auto locks the sound stops and the program stops (i assume it does, all i know is the sound stops, the instant I unlock the phone the sound of the radio show starts up again)
this happened all of a sudden, if i leave on with no autolock it solves the problem but that will run battery down
anybody help please...

when it was happening sirius would stop but other apps i have would not stop playing the radio show or whatever i was listening to

Video Chat from my PlayBook to Z10

Hi,
I have a Playbook and a Z10, both of which are on separate BBID's. Till about 2-3 months back, I was able to video chat from my Playbook to my Z10. However, I am not able to do that now and I get the message 'COntact's unavailable'. But, I can still do a video chat from my Z10 to the Playbook using the notifications. This is only happening with my Z10. My brother also has a Z10 and I am able to call him from my Playbook.
Can you help resolve this

I know that you have been waiting an exceedingly long time for a reply.
Today I made my first attempt to use the video chat application for my BlackBerry PlayBook, only just minutes before this post.
If you are still unable to receive your video chat between you and your loved one, I suggest that you add details to both your phone and PlayBook again.
I have just experimented with my phone and PlayBook, at that using my phone as a hospital for my PlayBook, I was still able to get a connection between the two.
My playbook did complete the connection but when I replied from phone to playbook, playbook did not seem to connect.
Maybe due to having the same connector had to do with it, but it did attempt.
I believe the connection is made through your BB10 via your BBM.
I hope this will help you and others in the near future.

Playbook reinstalled the OS instead of updated it

Hi, I've been having trouble connecting my playbook to my PC ever since I installed Windows 8. When I ran the Blackberry desktop software it gave me the option to update the Playbook OS. I did this but the install froze on me so after a few hours I unplugged the playbook. However -- and here's what I need help with -- when I turned on my playbook again it acted as though it was the first time I used it. Evidently it seems to have totally reinstalled the OS (version 2.1.0.1753) instead of updating it ---- meaning that I have lost my files and apps. Is there any way to access the information that I have lost? And why would this have happened in the first place?

unless you have a backup the info is lost
how did it happen, there is a question that askes about updating it when not connected and usualyl gives warning all will be erased and maybe you didnt see that pert and just choose next

Mpc 651 radio webupdate failure

hi there
I recently bought a mpc 651 and after installing it, i wanted to update the radio moudule. So i downloaded the radio webupdate program. And unfortunately my computer crashed.
After restarting i noticed that the radio tuner and display didnt work anymore. And the webupdate program says it cant find the radio module.
After browsing this forum i heared something about flashing it in dos. But i cant seem to find the firmware or utilities anywhere. Does anyone know where i can find these? Or is there another solution to get my radio and display working again? I sure hope so.

thanks to wonkanoby, i now have the bluebird firmware, it is attached to this post
the procedure remains the same as before: you'll need either a bootable floppy, USB stick or CD.
extract the ZIP to the floppy, usb stick or CD and boot into DOS. run the flash.bat program. when completed, you MUST power off your mega 651 and UNPLUG the power cord from the unit for a few seconds, then reconnect and power back on.
oh and also please be aware this is ONLY for the Mega 651, NOT for the 180 / 865

FM radio sound stopping intermittently.

Hi I have an Xperia Z1 and the FM radio has started to stop working. There is no pattern, it could work for minutes or seconds and then the sound just stops. Looking at the screen it looks normal and the only way to get the sound back is either switch to Mono or tunr the radio off and on again. This extremely annoying especially as I use the FM app loads. I tried a software reset before and no joy. Any ideas please ?

AirPlay stuttering while streaming radio from iPad

I have a 1st gen iPad and 2nd gen Apple TV. I can stream videos, YouTube, etc from the iPad to Apple TV with no problems, but if I stream radio stations they will drop out intermittently. Some days are worse than others, but rarely does it stream any radio without stuttering. Again, NO problems streaming video.
Any ideas?

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.
