Radio remote hold button

Hi. I have the 2nd gen 4GB nano and the radio remote and my problem is that after leaving the nano alone for a day, I try to turn on the nano through the remote and it will not work. I have to turn on the nano first before I can use the remote.
But this does not happen with the 1st gen nano or the mini. The remote works fine with these two.
Can someone help?

I have the same thing, but it's never bothered me.
I don't find having to turn on the nano from the iPod itself instead of the remote that big a deal.

  • New in-ear headphone NOT COMPATIBLE with RADIO remote!!!

I bought some days ago on the apple store the new in-ear headphone but it seems that are not compatible with radio remote control.
Infact if I connect them, the volume is very very very low. The volume is correct only if I take out just a bit the jack from the radio remote or if the central button of the "in-ear headphone" is hold down pressed.
Do you know something about this problem? Because these headphones are NOT very cheap and nothing is indicated on the apple store.
    Thanks!!!

According to the description, it is supposed to work as normal earbuds when connected to older iPod models. So it seems like it should work that way with a Radio Remote. You said it works properly if it is not pushed in all the way? Maybe the one you have has a minor defect. If you bought it online, you may want to call the customer service number at shown at the upper left corner of the online Apple Store web page and see what they can do about it.

  • When "show remote content" button is clicked remote content does not show. If I go back to the same email later "show remote content" is not on page.

The "Question" basically out lines the problem.
No remote content shows when the "show remote content" button is clicked. Once it has been clicked on a specific email, if I come back to the same email, the "show remote content" button is not on the email page and again no remote content shows in the body of the email.
I am running an up-to-date version (24.4.0) of Thunderbird.

Was able to load Windows in Safe Mode by pressing and holding F1 then F8. Then loaded Windows in safe mode with networking, but had no effect; no remote content in email and no "Show Remote Content" button.
It was suggested the body of the email is "Plain Text" and the remote content is "HTML", so I checked the setting in "View" - "Message Body As" - "Original HTML" was togged on.

  • The "hold" button conspiracy

Is it true that putting your ipod on hold wastes battery life?
People i know say it does, and so far,(i'm testing this hypothesis), it seems to be increasing my battery--pretty good actually.
But also, is it really worth it? I mean, does the hold button really take that much battery power?

Check Tips and tricks to get the most out of your iPod's battery.
Set the Hold switch on iPod and its remote to the Hold position whenever you are not using iPod. This will keep iPod from accidentally waking from sleep and playing songs if its buttons are pressed while in a pocket or bag.
A slight amount of battery charge is lost when an iPod is turned off. If fully charged, the battery will be completely drained in 30 days or so even if not turned on.

  • Recetn iTunes update = no Radio or Airplay buttons.

I was prompted to update iTunes a couple of days ago.  Since then the Radio button and Airplay button have disappeared.  How do I get the Radio and Airplay buttons back?

    Hi,
Yes I have the update page and for a field in the database
that holds a value yes or no .
Just now when I call the edit page it opens and the recordset
fileds are pulled into text boxes.
So I tried changing one of the textboxes for a List box and
when the edit page opens I cant seem to bind the list box to the
recordsets origional value so its opening blank or with the initial
value set in dreamweavers properties at design time.... I looked in
the listbox properties for a way to set its initial vale to the
recordset as the text boxes do but its not letting me i dont seem
to have the option to do this?
so when you hit the update button you have to make sure your
option is set to yes or no again before you update using the list
    box with no initial binding..
I hope that made better sense
    Thanks

  • 5th gen and radio remote sync error

I've had this ipod since 2006,Since April 2009 I have been using the radio remote to replace the fact that the earphone dock was damaged in December of 2008.
Yesterday I plugged in my i-pod to add more songs and first a firmware error appeared which lasted about 5 minutes and went away after a while but then when I went to plug up the radio and the headphones; the radio remote takes control of the volume even when it is disabled. No matter how many time I plug and unplug it's as if the radio will auto turn my ipod on; control the volume setting and start a song.
Can this be fixed manually or will I have to get a new ipod? :[

yes, you can, i've used the radio remote (model MA070G/A) with my 2nd gen nano
but i don't use it any more, because i got one of these...
    http://www.blueye.co.uk/
    http://www.gear4store.com/productdetails.php?&productsid=237
it costs a bit more than the radio remote, but...
turns your ipod into a bluetooth hands-free for your mobile phone, when the phone rings the ipod is paused and you push the button on the remote to take the call via your earphones (the microphone is in the remote)
seems to give better fm reception than the apple remote (finds more stations), no rds though and the tuning isn't as slick as apple's
has its own amplifier so you can get a useful volume boost on an eu volume-limited ipod

  • READ BEFORE RETURNING RADIO REMOTE

Howdy, i came across an issue which i have a simple answer for(see below),
i was looking through the reviews on the apple store website, and noticed that alot of people return the radio remote because they were dissapointed that "it only got 4 stations, and they were all fuzzy", one thing, read the manual on how to run the thing, it is included in the box that it comes in, please read it.
And if you dont want to read it there listen to me. What i am thinking you are doing that you only get 4 stations, is that you are only hitting the forward and reverse (<<|>>) only, which goes through the factory presets which give you a few stations, which are usually unused, to select stations hit the middle select button on the ipod(this knowledge is conveniently located in the manual)
and use the click wheel to select your station.
Please think and read the manual before you decide to return it, check out the problem throughly.
If you have this problem, please listen to what i have wrote, it will help.
    Derek.

Yes, you can us eyour own. The ones that come with the remote simply have a shorter cord than the stock headphones, otherwise they are identical.
Also, the Radio remote works only with the Nano and the 5G.

  • Radio Remote not very durable?

    Hi,
I bought an apple remote a few months ago.
I haven't mistreated it - just general, fairly careful usage.
The spring clip was the first thing to go - not quite sure how, but it doesn't spring any more.
Now the wires near the dock connector appear to be coming loose - have to hold the wire at a certain angle or don't get sound!
Seems a bit poor for an accessory costing £35!
Am tempted to return it but was wondering if anyone else had similar problems or is it just me?
    Cheers!

i've just had the same thing happen tome. got an ipod radio remote for christmas, the wires came loose so i had to buy a new one, now the new one will not work. the radio doesn't even come up as an option when its plugged in.
    have you resolved your problem?

  • Is the Touch compatible with the old radio/remote control?

I was wondering if anyone knew if the new Touch was compatible with the clip-on FM radio/remote control
    http://www.superwarehouse.com/AppleiPod_Radio_Remote/MA070GA/p/729855
(it plugs into the dock connector) I would like to be able to control my iPod without taking it out of my pocket. Thanks in advance!

    boooooo...!
well, i'm a little disappointed. at least they added the Home Button doubletap feature. I guess I'll just memorize the button layout i've been using a touch-sensitive 3G iPod for 3 years+, so i'm not a stranger to that kind of thing
and wait for a third-party solution
    thanks for your help

  • Can I use non-apple earphones with radio remote?

I have a new Ipod 3g and want to buy the radio remote. Must I use the earbuds supplied with the radio remote or can I use non-apple earbuds and earphones? Will I still get good radio reception with a non-apple earphone?

Yes you can. I use Sennheiser PX100's and they work just fine.
Plug the headphones into the remote rather than the iPod to get the best reception.

  • Problems in compatibility of iPod radio remote with iPod classic 160 GB

    Hi all,
I have just bought a iPod classic 160 GB and want to buy a iPod radio remote as well. However, after I have done my research, I find the radio remote is not compatible with iPod classic perfectly…
Do you think it is a good idea for me to wait a new radio remote (maybe) or later Apple will release update?
    Thanks

I use my Radio Remote with a Classic; it does everything that it had with my 5G-Video EXCEPT it will not allow me to set radio stations, either with the Radio Remote's control or the iPod's control.
I have spoken with an iPod specialist (Apple Care) and according to him Apple has acknowleged less than 100% compatibility/functionality with the Radio Remote and the Classics. One of the reasons, he stated, was that several 5G-Video iPods were "getting fried" when the Remote was not fully connected to the docking-port. So Apple has decided to reengineer the port [for better a connection, I gather]. What puzzles me the most about the new generation of iPods is why they were rolled out without warning customers that their Car-Charger, Video Player, dock, AV Cable, or APPLE'S OWN Remote will not play nice with each other!
This go around, it's find out the hard way.
