Radio station list

I downloaded iTunes 8 to this computer and I cannot get any radio stations listed. On my other computers, I have a complete list available for listening. Any ideas why this one will not show any radio stations?

Hello, I've sxactly the same problems, the Radio option appears in the sidebar ma there is any radio list. The internet connection works because I can enter in Itunestore. In my laptop, I've the same Itunes version and i can play radios without any problems. Somebody can help me?

This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes forums.
But answering quickly, if you mean the streaming stations, click the Internet item:
If you don't see that item, checkmark "Internet Radio" in the General preferences in iTunes.

  • Radio Stations listed in iTunes

Hello, first post, maybe strange question.
I want to use iTunes for listening radio, but there are only a few german radio stations listed.
Is there any way to seek and include my own favorite radio stations, if they were not in the list? Can iTunes somehow 'tune' to find my station?
Or is is better, so use 3. party software, anything which is good und you can recommend?
    THX,
    Steffen

You can import other radio stations into iTunes, but they have to be an Mp3 stream, as iTunes will not support AAC+ . Just go to a site (such as Shoutcast http://www.shoutcast.com) that supports the station in question, paste the url directly into iTunes or you can d/l the file to the desktop and import it into iTunes, as you would a music file. The file in question will be in your main library. I suggest that you make a separate playlist for all of the radio stations that you import; that way you can find the station a lot easier

  • Adjust radio station list on ATV2 & access via Remote App

    Hi everybody,
On my Apple TV 1 I could get further radio stations by adding them to a play list on my MacBook and then synchronizing with the ATV1. Further, I was able to select the radio stations directly on my iPhone & iPad via the Remote App (i.e. without having to turn on the TV).
On the Apple TV 2, it seems like I can neither adjust the defined list of radio stations, nor access the radio station list directly via the Remote App for the iPhone / iPad.
Am I simply not finding the right option or is there really no way to adjust radio stations and/or access them directly via the iPad Remote App on the ATV2?
    Thanks a lot!
    Hobbes
P.S.: I know that a workaround would be to use any radio app on my iPad and then stream to the ATV2 via Airplay, but I'd liek to have that working directly on the Apple TV... :)

While I still haven't found a solution to my original problem (i.e. to adjust the list of radio stations and being able to select them via the Remote App), I found a page of somebody with the same issue who has proposed some alternative solutions:
    Radio Streaming on the ATV2
Still not 100% what I am looking and hoping for, but I thought this guy's suggestions may be helpful for others stumbling across this post.

  • How Do We get our radio station listed in iTunes?

How do radio stations get listed in iTunes. Would be great to have our campus radio station listed.
    Any help would be appreciated

Forget Apple. They have nothing to do with that list - it is just loading a list onto it from the server that is hosting it. Heck not even the machine hosting it is located on Apple's campus.

  • Is there an internet radio station list?

Is there an internet radio station list?
How can I find where specific stations are listed, without browsing through all the menus?

    More specifically this link:
    http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/browsers.evolt.org/browsers/ie/mac/5.1.7_Clas sic/InternetExplorer517EN.bin
However, I would highly recommend using Wamcom Mozilla instead. You can stop popup advertisements, and it is much better support of many newer websites than Internet Explorer on Mac OS 9. It can be found here:
    http://www.wiwi.uni-frankfurt.de/wamcom/20030723/wamcom-131-macos9-20030723.sit
Using it though, I'd close the left sidebar for most optimized speed.

  • Online radio, stations no, Online radio, stations list not being showed sometimes

Sometimes, and when I say sometimes i mean frequently, when I select some radio categories, like for example adult contemporary or Hard Rock, or any other listed radio category, the screen turns black and there is only the category name in the upper right corner, nor radio stations neither any logo is showed.
Does anyone has a clue on what the problem might be? My first guess was connectivity, but everything else seems to work fine (for example, I can watch YouTube videos right after the problem happens).
    Thanks,

Look at the following tread, you're not alone. Quite a few people are having this problem. NO solution from Apple yet.

  • Better Radio Station List??

Is there anywhere online with a better station listing of iTunes available radio stations than the paltry handful that comes with iTunes? I'd like more variety, but I get so tired of having to google through keywords trying to find a place that has the right sort of streaming audio just to find maybe one.
Where do you go to find lists of iTunes stations?

Let me be quite clear about this. I am NOT asking how to add a radio station that will appear in the main library (Music now I guess). I know I can do this but it is not what I want to do.
I want to modify the list of stations that iTunes downloads from the 'tuning service' which is not intended to be editable, hence my request for information about this.
I believe that it is simply a page of links to the URLs of each listed station and as it's just a request for a page on that currently unknown server it can be subverted by use of DNS and/or host files so that my own version of this page is suppled by my server instead - if I know what URL is being requested.
In order to avoid having to snoop around my network traffic to find what the URL is of this 'tuning servce' I asked here if anyone already knew it. But, I get the feeling no-one does.
However, if anyone can supply this URL, I'd be grateful.

  • I have iTunes on my Windows 7 PC. I had to redownload, but I no longer have internet radio links on my radio station lists.

I have had iTunes on my Windows 7 PC for quite a while. I recently had to redownload iTunes, which is iTunes 10. Before, I had iTunes 9. Now on my iTunes, my radio library has NO radio station links. I can still tune into radio stations that I had made into playlists, but no longer any others.

Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.

  • Can't find 'top songs of radio stations' lists

A long time ago, I was browsing iTunes and I came across listings of top played songs by local radio stations. You could browse by location and the radio station frequency. It was a very helpful feature since I hear a lot of songs I love on the radio and would like to purchase them. Does this feature still exist? I can not find it anywhere in iTunes or in the iTunes store. If it does, how do I get to it?

  • How does one get a radio station listed in the iTunes Radio Tuner?

    Hi!
I am CIO for Head On Radio Network, http://www.headonradionetwork.com
We have a live 24/7 Liberal/Progressive political talk radio stream which may be found at http://server2.whiterosesociety.org:8000/HeadOnRadioHQ and we would very much like to have this listed in the iTunes Radio Tuner.
We produce 60 hours of original programming every week, and also have permission to do a "The Best Of The Mike Malloy Show" in the wake of his firing by Air America, and that is appearing at 10pm ET every weeknight. When we are not live, we replay recent shows from the live stream.
I think that having HORN on the iTunes player would be an asset to Apple.
Who do I contact? Is there some sort of application form?
    Thank you all so much!

Sorry, but there's no mechanism for getting a station added to the iTunes Tuner list. No one outside of Apple knows who's running the server that maintains the list since 3Com shut down Kerbango, the previous host of the list, and for some unknown reason Apple has not provided any way of contacting the current provider or administrator for making changes or additions.
I can only guess why this is the case; perhaps Apple doesn't want to bog iTunes down with potentially a huge list of stations (there are after all hundreds if not thousands of iTunes-compatible streams available) and so only provides a sampling.
You might want to consider listing your station through Live 365 or ShoutCast or another such streaming service. That would get it to the attention of a lot of people.

  • Empty radio station list

A friend is using iTunes 10.2.2.12 (current build) on Windows XP. All works except for the radio. The Radio tab is shown, but the genre list is completely empty.
I turned the firewall off to no avail. All prefs look fine and iTunes store works. Internet connection is there.
    Any Ideas?
    Hartmut

Some other threads here suggest that a firewall can do this. Are you using a firewall at work or at home? Try accessing it through some non-firewall internet. Public internet should work.
In my case I'm currently out of the country. I think that's the issue. So I won't be able to try this until I get back.
