RADIUS Forwarding
Hello,
We're changing the solution from RSA/ACE Server to an ActivCard for
eDirectory solution. Now we would like to make a smooth change for the
users - so for about 2 months both solutions should keep up running.
Is there a way, to forward the Radius Requests from the NMAS/Radius
Server to the RSA/ACE Server when it is not a ActivCard login?
I know about a special server from ActivCard (AAA Server) which is able
to do that, but we don't like the idea so much to install a server just
for a couple months and break it down afterwards.
So if somebody could help us, that would be really great!

Unfortunately, there is not a way for the RADIUS server to know if it's
processing an ActivCard login or an RSA SecurID login. The simplest solution
would be to create an NMAS "OR" login sequence that includes the ActivCard
method followed by the RSA method. (I assume you would want ActivCard first
in the sequence since RSA has to forward the request to a remote server and
IIRC ActivCard does not.) You can create new sequences in ConsoleOne from
the "General" tab on the Login Policy Object.
While you have this sequence configured for your DAS object, users will be
able to login with either their ActivCard tokens or their SecurID tokens.
Once you've completed the migration to ActivCard, remove the RSA method from
the sequence, and users will be able to login using their ActivCard tokens
only.

How to change MS IAS PROXY-STATE length

NAS <---> MS Windows2003 IAS(Proxy RADIUS) <---> nttacplus(main RADIUS)
but there is a problem, when IAS proxy RADIUS forward an ACCESS-Request with 10 octet PROXY-STATE length to the nttacplus RADIUS, the nttacplus reply ACCESS-ACCEPT with first 6 octet of received PROXY-STATE, so the IAS proxy RADIUS doesn't accept the message
and try to send similiar ACCESS-REQUEST for another two times.
is there any way to reduce the PROXY-STATE length to 6 octets in MS IAS proxy RADIUS?

I can’t find any document about changing this attribute.
But obviously, there is something wrong with your RADIUS server.
According to RFC 2865, the Proxy-State
is available to be sent by a proxy server to another server when forwarding an Access-Request and
MUST be returned unmodified in the Access-Accept, Access-Reject or Access-Challenge.
Therefore, if your RADIUS server obeys the RFC 2865, it should have the ability of reading the length of Proxy-State and replies to proxy server with a
unmodified Proxy-State.

We have seen issues with a Cisco 5500 and 2405 WLAN controller with older and the latest controller firmware(8.x) of not forwarding the first EAP Response frame to the radius server on 802.1x WLAN devices doing full authentications. The first EAP Response frame from the WLAN client is supposed to be forwarded to the Radius server but a Wireshark trace shows that frame is never sent by the WLAN controller. The WLAN controller does ack the first EAP Response frame but the EAP response frame when the problem occurs always seems to be a retried packet. I do have all RRM and AP scanning turned off. This is an intermittent issue and only occurs on devices doing full authentications and does occur on multiple vendors products. This produces a 18-20 second drop-off until the station recovers by sending an EAP-Start frame and then it associates properly. Since the first EAP Response frame is never forwarded to the Radius server and the EAP Response frame is being ack’d on the retried packet, this seems to be a WLAN controller issues but I’m looking at all possibilities. Does anyone have any thoughts?

H323 cisco attributes not being forwarded to Radius accounting server
I have enabled a Radius server to gather AAA Accounting CDR records but I don't see any of the Cisco h323 attributes. The following is an example of the list I WANT to see.

3750 switch not forwarding EAPoL to RADIUS server
I have a 3750 switch stack running version 12.2(53)SE2 IPBASEK9-M. I have dot1x configured on the switch and have a Windows 7 PC connected with 802.1x configured on the interface. I see the EAPoL start message from the PC, but I don't see any RADIUS packets from the switch to the RADIUS server. I have a simple dot1x config just to try to get it working prior to adding additional features such as guest-vlan...
Config and debug file attached.
I don't know if the ip dhcp snooping and arp inspection configuration is causing an issue with this or not. I see the EAPoL packet received on the switch as seen in the debug attachment, but I still never see the RADIUS packet. I did set both to trust on the interface but still the same outcome. I can't disable it since it is a production switch with a test interface.
Any ideas?

The config seems to be OK, nothing I would miss if I assume that mandatory
commands not shown in your config are in place
aaa-new-model is required for dot1x to function, I don't seee that command.
I have configured dot1x just a few times but I always used the commands
aaa authorization network default group radius
and
radius-server vsa send
(honestly, I'm not sure whether they are required, it's just a template which
I know as working)
Careful if this is a production system
AAA New-Model will radically change every authentication behaviour on the
switch if it is not already configured
The main issue seems that the catalys is not sending an "EAP-Request/Identity"
back, Radius-Packets will only be sent after the "EAP-Response/Identity":

Do you have any other dot1x client?
You can use a cisco router for testing dot1x if you have
test system at hand:

Another approach:
use the classic config (not auth-manager but "dot1x syntax") you are

ASA 5510 with Cisco 2811 Router Behind it - Not forwarding traffic
Hi all,
Some might know that I have been dealing with an issue where I cannot seem to get forwarded packets to reach their destinations behind an ASA 5510 that has a Cisco 2811 connected directly behind it.
Some examples that work.
I can SSH into the ASA.
I can SSH to the Cisco Routers behind the ASA.
I cannot reach items beind the Cisco Routers.
My Configuration is this (I am sure I included a bunch of info I didn't need to, but I am hoping it'll help!):
I have a static Ip assigned to my Ouside Interface Ethernet 0/1
It has an IP address of 199.195.xxx.xxx
I am trying to learn how to shape network traffic (this is all new to me) via the ASA and the Routers to specific devices.
The Inside Interface on the ASA is 10.10.1.1 255.255.255.252
The Outside Interface on the 2811 is 10.10.1.2 255.255.255.252
I can ping the router from the ASA. I can SSH through the ASA to the router.
BUT I CANNOT ACCESS DEVICES BEHIND THE ROUTER.
So, I wanted to BAM that statement above because I just don't kjnow where the issue is. Is the issue on the router or the ASA, my guess is, the router, but I just don't know.
Here are my configs, helpfully someone can help.
ASA errors on the ASDM when I try and hit resources; specifically a web device behind the ASA and the 2811. It's Ip address 192.168.1.5 it's listening on port 80.Static IP, not assigned via DHCP.

As long as the statements ip nat outside on the Fastethernet 0/0 is off and the ip nat inside is off on the vlan and the overload statement is taken out, I cannot hit the internet.

As I understand , you need to know if you can assign static ip to a user and also is there any other way of assiging a ip other than local pool.
There are three ways of assinging an ip address to VPN client: using local pool, AAA server,DHCP.

SSL VPN on C2821 Radius auth issues
I've been looking through the discussions and I can't seem to nail this one down. I'm implimenting SSL VPN on a 2821 to do SMTP only. I need it to auth off the radius server and it is only asking for local router login P/Ws. It will not auth against Radius. I've created a seperate aaa auth group to no avail and tried a few different tweaks. I'm throwing science at the wall and seeing what sticks at this point.
I've made a new group server for Radius to test it, not working. I've tried variations in domain, not working. Can't use SDM, nor want to.

Can't change "no inservice" to "inservice" and I can't figure out why. Any help with this?OK, upgraded IOS to most current stable version and I'm now able to do inservice on the context and gateway. I'm trying to go through the SDM route, but Java crashes with ValidatorException errors. I'm going to try updating the SDM since it's the original version to the 2008 version since all the little "fixes" for this do not work. Any ideas on that?

ISE 1.3 not receiving Radius requests from WLC 5508 ver 8.0.110.0
Hello all. I just implemented ISE 1.3 at a customer site. added a WLC running 8.0.110.0 using its mgmt address with a RADIUS preshared key. On the WLC, I created to SSIDs, corp and guest.
For corp I configured WPA2 and AES and forwarded Radius requests to my 2 ISE node PSN interfaces
For the guest I configured MAC filter with advanced features AAA overide and Radius NAC - per Cisco's documents
The corp forwards Radius requests to ISE, the guest does not. I get nothing from the guest.
I configured the WLC step by step from the Cisco document. I have completed over 10 ISE implementations in the last year using ISE 1.2 and WLC 7.x and have never run into this issue before.
Any help will be much appreciated.This issue has been resolved. The issue was that for the guest SSID MAC filtering was enabled as required, but they had the test PCs on a mac filter bypass list for that SSID in the WLC. This was automatically authenticating the PC, and therefore not forwarding the RADIUS to ISE.
Once we removed the PC from the MAC filter list in the WLC, the authentications were forwarded to ISE as desired. -
Ise Authentication to two different forests second using External Radius, Not LDAP
Hi Guys,
I am hoping someone can help me. We currently have two AD forests one for staff and one for students. These forests do not have a two way trust between them nor do we want to. We currently have Ise 1.2 integration with our Student forest using AD working just fine. The ipads and other devices are playing nicely and cooperating well. We want to get our staff to be able to use ISE as well. Currently there is no way to use two AD forests so I was directed to use LDAP instead for the second domain. Unfortunatley after playing around with it LDAP doesn't support mschapv2 which our mobile devices like ipads do play nicely with. This causes an issue only because we would have to utilize certificates to get everything to work correctly. This is not the route we want to go. So i was speaking to Tac and they recommended using an External Radius server. Then modify my auth profiles to look for the domain name in the authentication string. If it starts for example student\ then i can have ise forward the auth request to the AD integrated PSNs for auth. If the auth string starts with staff\ for example i should be able to forward this request to my external radius server.
This sounds all good in theory but i have not found any documentation to support this to help me configure it. Has anyone tried this approach? Or have any leads on where i can find some good documentation as to what radius servers are supported. I am hoping Windows server 2008 R2 with a radius role installed, but i am just not sure.
If anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it.

JoeyThat is correct! Cisco ISE supports integration with a single Active Directory identity source. Cisco ISE uses this Active Directory identity source to join itself to an Active Directory domain. If this Active Directory source has a multidomain forest, trust relationships must exist between its domain and the other domains in order for Cisco ISE to retrieve information from all domains within the forest.
However, you may create multiple instances for LDAP. Cisco ISE can communicate via LDAP to Active Directory servers in an untrusted domain. The only limitation you would see with LDAP being a database that it doesn't support PEAP MSCHAPv2 ( native microsoft supplicant). However it does suppport EAP-TLS.

Cisco ISE with both internal and External RADIUS Server

I have ISE 1.2 , I configured it as management monitor and PSN and it work fine
I would like to know if I can integrate an external radius server and work with both internal and External RADIUS Server simultanously
So some computer (groupe_A in active directory ) will continu to made radius authentication on the ISE internal radius and other computer (groupe_B in active directory) will made radius authentication on an external radius server
I will like to know if it is possible to configure it and how I can do it ?

BlaiseCisco ISE can function both as a RADIUS server and as a RADIUS proxy server. When it acts as a proxy server, Cisco ISE receives authentication and accounting requests from the network access server (NAS) and forwards them to the external RADIUS server. Cisco ISE accepts the results of the requests and returns them to the NAS.
Cisco ISE can simultaneously act as a proxy server to multiple external RADIUS servers. You can use the external RADIUS servers that you configure here in RADIUS server sequences. The External RADIUS Server page lists all the external RADIUS servers that you have defined in Cisco ISE. You can use the filter option to search for specific RADIUS servers based on the name or description, or both. In both simple and rule-based authentication policies, you can use the RADIUS server sequences to proxy the requests to a RADIUS server.
The RADIUS server sequence strips the domain name from the RADIUS-Username attribute for RADIUS authentications. This domain stripping is not applicable for EAP authentications, which use the EAP-Identity attribute. The RADIUS proxy server obtains the username from the RADIUS-Username attribute and strips it from the character that you specify when you configure the RADIUS server sequence. For EAP authentications, the RADIUS proxy server obtains the username from the EAP-Identity attribute. EAP authentications that use the RADIUS server sequence will succeed only if the EAP-Identity and RADIUS-Username values are the same. -
IKEv2 AnyConnect and Pool allocation via RADIUS
I am configured a CSR1000V (03.09.00a.S.153-2.S) for AnyConnect with IKEv2. I am storing username and IKEv2 authorization policy on the RADIUS server. Clients are dropped into their own iVRFs through RADIUS attributes passed back to the NAS.

However, it appears that the RADIUS attribute specifying the pool is ignored; I can see the RADIUS attribute (IETF 88) passed back to the NAS in the RADIUS debugs:

Thank you for your response; sending "ipsec:addr-pool" does work. I did a bug scrape, but didn't find this (if I try to view it in the new Bug Tool, I get "Insufficient Permissions to View Bug"), but it was possible to paste the Bug ID into the old Bug Toolkit to get the detail.
As an aside, I also found that "include-local-lan" doesn't appear to work with IKEv2 AnyConnect and isn't likely to be fixed; according to CSCud65859, the workaround is to use split-tunneling ("ipsec:route-set=prefix prefix/len").

But I couldn't find out how to configure my Windows Server 2012 in order to authenticate my mailbox users from Exchange Server 2013 with a RADIUS server which is not on my Windows Server 2012. I have to use their RADIUS server, the RADIUS server from the
company where I am doing my internship.
I already created a NPS and added the RADIUS Client + Remote RADIUS Server Groups. I created a Connection Request Policies with the condition:
User Name *
I forwarded the Connection Request to the Remote RADIUS server that I created in Remote RADIUS Server Groups and then I registered the NPS in th AD. But it's still not working.
Maybe I did something wrong or I misunderstood something or does this even work with Exchange Server 2013? To authenticate mailbox users with a RADIUS server before they can login into their mailbox and use their mailbox?
