Raid 1 on HDD got removed

HI,
I've got 4 HDDs with raid 1 setup on two of the HDDs, my system running on-windows server 2008 r2 Enterprise , crashed a few days ago but i was able to restore my system back. But now the HDD that i got the RAID setup on is shown as unallocated
space on the disk management tool and also got the disk as missing.
System OS is on the hard disk without the raid and moreover i cant acces the HDD with the raid on from the explorer.
So what should i do to make my HDD with raid usable as i cant loose the files on them.

Hi
Perhaps you should backup those files, trash the raid and build a new Raid 5 setup, it will give you more redundancy.
Hope this helps. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

  • Translation language 'FR' entires all got removed from table: RSZELTTXT

    Hi All,
We are doing global BI implementation.
We need the reports run in English and French.
We have spent a great amount of time and made the needed entries for translation in French language, in the table: RSZELTXT, for all the english entries corresponding to all BW query elements.
Today suddenly, we have found that all the entries related to 'FR' language got completely removed.
All the BW team members are pretty sure that no body touched this table.
    How could this happen?
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks & Best Regards,

    Hi,
I'm wondering why the app MyKeepass by Qiang Hu got removed from the app store. Did he pull it, did Apple pull it. And if Apple did pul it, why did they pull it?

It's been months since that post, so it would seem that the developer wouldn't or couldn't make the necessary updates.

  • ORACLE_HOME accidently got removed! How can i recover?

    Version : 10.2.0.1.0
    OS : SunOS 5.9
Our entire ORACLE_HOME directory accidently got removed. Since the data files were stored on a different filesystem, we still have it.
With these datafiles Can i recover from this disaster?

create database. Then replace old datafiles with new one Kamran
you dont need to recreate database, just add the entries to/etc/oratab and set the Oracle user environment either in .profile or .cshrc
    Startup the DB
    sql>@/oracle_home/dbs/initprod.ora startup mount(...e.g)
    sql>recover database until cancel;
    sql>alter database open resetlogs'
Try this and let us know
Or else you might need to recreate the controlfile if you have a controlfile in text format (bakup taken by this command-->alter database backup controlfile to trace)

  • HDD is removable now?

ok, i grabbed and installed this nForce4 AMD v6.66 driver from nvidia.com.
everything is installed correctly and smoothly, but upon restart i learn that I had a "Safely Remove Hardware" in my system tray.
To my surprise, it's listing my 200gb SATA hdd as removable. I mean, come on, if i remove it, how the heck is my comp supposed to continue running?
Please tell me wat it is. I'll attached the pic for u guys to see. What should i do?
    thx,
    gildan2020

well...at first it was just so-so ho hum
but after i installed this nforce driver, everything seems to be faster, as if the SATA features were enabled.
now, booting up winxp is twice as fast, even loading games are a bit faster.
nero's test registers it as capable of transfer over 60meg/sec. perhaps this figure may interest.

  • Raid and HDD size incorrect

    Guys,
    Got 2 probs:
    1. I've got 2 Maxtor Diamond Max 10 160gb SATA's.
If I try raiding them I can't boot from cdrom. It goes through "checking dmi..." then hangs. Though used as singular hdd's I CAN boot from cdrom - any thoughts?
    2. Thes drives are 160gb but the bios only recognises them as 131GB

  • Ex-RAID SATA hdd reports old RAID size instead of correct size, k8n neo2 plat

    Hello eveyrone,
I recently decided to de-RAID my system so i can run longhorn and linux easier. I reformatted the drives, flashed my k8n neo2 platinum to 1.9, and removed the RAID array in the bios. The drives were then detected seperetly. After re-installing windows XP, the system is running more or less ok, but im having 2 lingering problems. First of all, one of my 74gb hard drives is reporting its size to windows as 140 gb (this was the size of the old RAID i deleted, it was made up of 2x74gb drivevs). The drive works fine, except for the fact that it says its got 80gb or so of free space it shouldnt have.
This probelm was there even in windows setup, so its obviously a motherboard error of some kind.
Secondly, my MAC address for the nvidia NIC seems to have been erased.
What is the best procedure to restore it? Im using the gigabyte NIC for now and it is fine.
    Thank you for your help.

No motherboard error but windows that's messed up .
Look at this to remove obsolete windows devices : look for drives = 140GB
    http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=Articles&go=read&arc_id=36
    Use the :
set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 and press enter. Now type devmgmt.msc and click enter. Device Manager will open. Inside Device Manager click on the "View" tab and then click on "Show hidden devices .
Navigate in device manager to remove the transperant entrys that match your old raid setup (should be named NVIDIA STRIPE under disk drives - uninstall it ) .

  • My bill got an credit added to it that was not mine, then it got removed

I will try to explain this as clearly as i can.
In December i noticed that my bill was not as high as it usually is. I then went back and saw that i was given a a 400 dollar credit to my account. i was not sure why it was there, but i didn't do anything about it yet because i was traveling for the holidays. i figured i would just handle it when i got back in town. What i did notice was my bill was less for the month of November and October. So on Jan 1st i got a text saying that my bill was $646 then i got the email telling me the same thing. I went online and saw that they took 400 dollar credit back and said I owed all that money plus a late fee. i called up to get this figured out.
    First time i called (1/2/2014):
i spoke with someone that said they took the late fee off and then asked me to pay them all the money right then. i said i could not just drop all that money right there. I asked why i owe all the money when i had auto payment on and they should have been taking it. i also said it was not my fault this happened that it was an error on their end. I should not get penalized because of this. They sent me to their payment specialists to get it figured out. I spoke with two other people before i could get to someone that could do anything for me. The arrangement they gave me was i could pay 317 this month and 55 dollars for 6 months over my bill. This would get me caught up. I was frustrated and said i needed to call back. I really just needed to calm down.
    Second time i called 1/6/2014):
I called up and was told my bill amount. I then realized they never took the late fee off my account, which really made me mad. They said they took it off again, but i really don't know.  Then they sent me to their specialists again and i told them the situation from before about the deal. They said i could do that still, but there would be a late fee each month until i pay it off. My problem is that it is not my fault that this happened and i am being charged a late fee for a bill that i was never late with and i will be charged more until i pay it off. i also have been a customer for about 10 years and i have never been late on one payment.
I realize that i probably should not trust that setting up auto-pay will allow things to work out, but i guess i have learned to not trust it.
What should i do? Who can i call to get this figured out? they won't budge with anything.

I'm sorry you received a credit that was added to your account by mistake thecook26. I can understand how frustrated you are with the entire situation. As stated by Elector, its always a great idea to contact us if you see a charge or credit you're unaware of on your bill. We do our best to correct all mistakes but contacting us when you see the mistake is always a great thing to do. I apologize that you have a late bill but we are trying to help with the payment arrangements so that your account will stay active because of an error cause by us but that still needs to be paid. I'm happy the first late fee was removed but I am unfamiliar with payment arrangements for 6 months. They are usually for 1-2 bill cycles. Please let us know if you have any other concerns.

  • HPE-390t RAID 1 HDD - SSD ??

My HPE-390t machine currently has 2 x 1 TB regular HDD's in them in a RAID 1 configuration (so I get total space of around 1 TB only).  I'd like to move to SSD's since it will give me a big performance boost on this 4-5 year old machine, but am not sure if I can do it easily.  Anyone have any ideas/suggestions/advice?
I want to try and keep the RAID 1 configuraiton with the new SSD's, but only if I won't take a huge performance hit doing it (and thereby counteract the benefits I could get from the SSD's).
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Running SSDs in RAID mode is typically not recommended since it negates the use of the Windows "trim" process.  Additionally, RAID 1 takes additional overhead to write changes to both devices.
I recommend that you back up your data to external media and be sure to create the external HP recovery media. Now boot into the Intel RAID function ctrl+i  and boot time and delete/clear the RAID volume.   Now reboot into the BIOS and change the SATA mode to AHCI and save the changes and power off. Install the SSD. Now boot up the external HP recovery media and load the SSD. I would also recommend that you cable the SSD to the default hard drive SATA boot port (0).

  • Password got removed, need to reset it

After getting my MacBook back from the repair shop, I noticed they removed my password for my main account. This password allowed me to install software that required password authentication. I was given the following instructions to reset it:
    1. Restart the computer holding Cmd-S.
    2. When you get to the command prompt, type: mount -uw /
    3. Then type: passwd username (replacing 'username' with your username, obviously).
    4. Type in a new password (it'll ask for it twice).
    5. Type reboot -r now
However, when I got to Step 4, it didn't ask me for my new password and when I typed it in anyway it didn't recognize the command.
Any quicker, easier way to reset my password?

  • Defrag Detects RAID-0 HDD as SSD

I originally posted this on the Microsoft Community Windows 8.1 forum.  A Microsoft Support Engineer responded by telling me it would be better suited in Microsoft TechNet forum.  So here I am.  Any help would be appreciated.
Anyway, I have Windows 8.1 Update 1 installed on a SSD drive.  I have a second SSD drive that is used for programs that benefit from high read rates.  Finally, I have four HDDs that are setup up as two RAID-0 arrays.  One is used for programs
while the other is used for storage.  Defrag detects the SSDs as SSDs, and the first RAID-0 array is detected as a HDD.  However, the second RAID-0 array is detected as a SSD.  As a result, I can't defrag the drive using the GUI utility.  (UPDATE:
Running Defrag from the CMD line seems to work)
The problematic array is identified as an HDD using Intel's SSD Toolbox and RST driver utility.  So I'm not sure why Windows thinks it is a SSD.  Rerunning WINSAT did not resolve the issue.  Is there a way to overide the Windows drive detection?

    Hi
    DarWun,
    Disk Defragmenter uses the
Windows System Assessment Tool (WinSAT) to evaluate the performance of the device by getting the “random read disc score” of the device. The performance threshold was determined by some I/O heuristics
through WinSAT to best distinguish SSD from rotating hard disks.
Here is a blog for reference:
Windows 7 Disk Defragmenter User Interface Overview
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/filecab/archive/2009/11/25/windows-7-disk-defragmenter-user-interface-overview.aspx
There is a key in the registry, the Defragmenter will recognize the device as SSD when the value is above a specific valus.I recommend you check the values
    of “randomreaddiskscore”.Here is the path:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinSAT
