RAID 1 support ENVY 700-515xt desktop

  Does my new ENVY 700-515xt  ( product # K7X03AV) ,MSI Kaili2 motherboard, Chipset Intel Z97/Z87 ,OS Windows 7 support RAID 1 and if so what must I do to configure it.

Hi, This posted article will give you some background information so read though it at least twice.Make a complete image of the system hard drive as a safety precaution.All data on the target drive will be over written so back it up before proceeding.Install the Intel Rapid Storage Technology RAID driver (IRST).Go into MSCONFIG and set boot to Safe mode and save the change.Power off and reboot your PC in the BIOS menu (tap the ESC key after power on).Select F10 for BIOS setup and then go to Storage Menu-->Storage Options and change the SATA Emulation to RAID.  Save the change and boot up into Safe Mode.If OK at this point then go back into MSCONFIG---> Boot and uncheck Safe boot, save the setting change and reboot.If OK at this point then your PC is ready to configure for RAID.Go into the Control Panel and select IRST.Go to the Help screens and review how to setup a RAID 1 volume.

    Here is the Product Specifications page for the computer.  If you look at the picture of the computer in the link, I believe that the front cover below the Red band slides down to expose the USB ports.  This is how it works on my Envy 810-135qe.

  • Very poor sound quality on bluetooth headphones through HP Envy 700-074 desktop

    I recently purchased a pair of Bose AE2W wireless bluetooth headphones to use with my HP Envy 700-074 desktop computer. After successfully pairing the headphones the sound quality is extremely poor. I know the headphones are not the pronblem since they sound beautiful when paired with my iPhone or iPad.
    I have tried updating the driver, but I have the most current version installed according to the computer. Adjustment of the Beats Audio controls or any other sound controls does not help.

  • HP Envy 700-214 desktop drivers not ready for Windows 10 Prime Time

    Really disappointed in HP for not being ready for W10 rollout.  I upgraded my HP Envy desktop PC 700-214 and after the upgrade, I could not connect to the internet.  Didn't recognize the networking hardware.  Went to HP Support (on different computer) and found out here aren't W10 drivers yet for this machine.  Very Poor.My wife has a Dell laptop and we have another older Dell that upgraded no problem.  Why because Dell is on top of their $__t when it comes to this stuff.Won't by HP again.

Also with the lastest Windows HP will probably not support redoing drivers for older system as that will be cost prohibited to do. And it will be up to the Endusers to find the right drivers and software that matches their system to work with Windows 10 assuming they work with Windows 10. As to Dell that is something only Dell can answer that question and since we don't know if this is Dell Consumer or Business product since this falls outside of HP forums to discuss. You can't expect to have drivers if your system is too old to support Windows 10.

  • Hard Drive Failure Envy 700-074 Desktop

    Could not get the computer to boot this morning and spent most of the day going through any test or recovery I could get access to and finnally in the System Extensive Test I got a failure Id: PGE2XV-00714-9XPJXF-61VV03, Product ID: H5Q09AA#ABA,  Hard Drive 1.
    Is this a failure type that has a work around?      Purchased computer right around Nov 20, 2013.

  • HP ENVY 700-074 Desktop - what graphics card do I need to install to use a blu ray player?

    I purchased an external blu ray player - "LG 14x external blu-ray/dvd writer super multi blue be14".  For some reason I thought my system was compatible.  However, it's not - apparently the Intel(R) 4600 won't work.  What graphics card would I need to install to allow using this blu-ray device?  What else do I need to know?

    Ah, I should add, the Blu ray player's support site (for Cyberlink) suggested a pile of different drivers - 30 or 40, but didn't offer any specifics regarding my particular system. What I really need to know is what would be the best option for my particular system.

  • Envy 700 060ea desktop pc crashing after short time playing games on it

    ive only just had this pc for one day 
    but ive had pc for over 10 years so know a little about them, 
    now this said it should have come with a gtx 660 card but my one has got a gtx 760 card inside 
    turned it on done the updates and other installs,
    then i installed steam and a few games i own to see how much better on this pc over my old one ,
    the games boot up play fine for a 1 or 2 then i think its the graphic card crashing 
    but it reboots no warning or anything 
    so ive played with it a bit made sure all HP updates are installed and that i have 
    Geforce Experience  installed with the latest drivers for the graphic card gtx 760  331.93 driver
    but as soon as i play a game with full settings on eg . HD 1980x1080,(just a update here its playing in any settings)
    it crashes on every game i try and all do within the same sort of time 
    leading me to think its more a graphic card problem but ive tried everything on there site and the 
    problem is still going on

    Born2, welcome to the forum.
    I know that Steam normally updates the games, but has this been done to them.  Also, install all of the patches for your other games, as well.
    I had the same problems with one of my computers when the games were not patched.

  • HP ENVY 700-049 Won't Update to Windows 8.1 - 0xC1900101 - 0x20018

    I recently purchased an HP Envy 700-049 desktop and have updated to the latest Windows 8.  I have re-downloaded and installed all of the Windows 8 drivers listed on the support page.  I disabled the wireless LAN in Windows (no way to do so in the BIOS that I can tell).  After all of that I went to the Windows App Store and ran the 8.1 update.  The machine reboots and begins to configure the devices, but stops prior to completion with the error SYSTEM_THREAD EXCEPTION NOT_HANDLED.
    On reboot I am given
    0xC1900101 - 0x30018
    This is showing up in Google...and I tried common reccomendations (install updates, install latest driver, disable WLAN)... are there any additional suggestions or am I just going to have to hang tight on MS to fix this?
    My wrist is getting tired from bouncing over to the quickbar. :-)

    I am on 8.0, trying to update to 8.1.  I can't install the 8.1 drivers.  It is for all intents and purposes a new OS.  The 8.1 drivers clearly indicate to me that the OS is not at a compatible level "Your system does not meet the operating system requirements. Update has been cancelled. (9998)".
    I did note that the intel onboard driver was not good, don't know where that fell by the wayside, but I re-installed the HP Win8 driver and things were good.
    There are two graphics cards, onboard and radeon.  I updated the catalyst drivers too.
    All of the HP drivers were up to date, all of the Windows Updates are installed.
    I disconnected ALL devices except for the mouse and keyboard.
    The drivers are installed fine for 8.0.  But the way that the windows 8.1 update is delivered is through the Microsoft App Store.  It downloads, installs and reboots.  There is a second reboot where it starts updating the drivers.  I know that it's a problem at that particular point, but without being able to isolate the driver that it's having a problem with...it's a crapshoot.
    I researched a bit and looked at the winstore.log files, but nothing in there seems to indicate a specific driver...I think this is the log at the point where the update chokes...

    I'm not sure where that "travel log" is written to, but that may have more information in it.  I'm not seeing anything obvious in the Event Viewer.  I tried to narrow down the time, and I see some errors popping up, but I'm not quite sure if they are related.
    I may keep troubleshooting, I think I may just clean out the app store cache and give it a try again.  There was a comment that I read that seems to indicate disabling file sharing settings can resolve the issue.  I also saw a suggestion on downloading the preview and then updating from that.  This is a fairly new box (at least to me), and it's running fine otherwise...but I would like to get 8.1 running to get the integrated tools.  Worst case scenerio I could just download from DreamSpark and reinstall.

    I have no sound at all on my pc , either with my headphones or with the basic sound of the pc . I can not access the volume mixer. I have verified that my drivers are up to date . In recording device there is nothing, no audio device is installed in recording and sound.

    I understand that your HP ENVY 700-339 Desktop PC has no audio and no audio devices installed even with your drivers up to date. I suggest that you try a back and factory recovery of your computer to ensure that you do not have a hardware issue.
    To backup your personal information and ensure that it is not lost I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), which will ensure your personal files are up to date.
    ***WARNING!! If you want to keep any emails or bookmarks/favorites you will want to back those up as well as I do not believe they are backed up in the HP Backup process.
    Next, I would like you to review and follow the steps set out in the HP Support document: Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 8), which will you through recovering your computer back to factory settings.
    *** IMPORTANT - Your personal files such as libraries, personalization settings, user accounts, and desktop themes are permanently removed. As well the computer settings are returned to the defaults (the way it was when it came from the factory). All apps and software that were installed on the computer when it came from the factory are reinstalled, and their settings are reset to the defaults. Additionally, software, apps, programs, and everything that you have installed or saved on the computer are permanently removed.

    Most of these PCI Express x1 - 1394 Firewire Cards should work in your HP ENVY 700-109c Desktop Computer. Install it in any open slot and move it to other slots as needed.

    The computer came with Windows 8 preinstalled.
    I'd like to downgrade it to Windows 7 64 bit, however HP website only has Windows 8 64 bit drivers available for download.
    I tried it but it doens't run on Windows 7 64 bit.
    I was only able to find Windows 7 64 bit drivers for Network Card and ATI.
    I still need the rest in Windows 7 64 bit drivers for my HP Envy 700-059CB.  Can someone help?

    You're very welcome.
    Only Pro versions of Windows are eligible for downgrade rights to the older versions of windows.
    And the downgrade has to be performed by the PC manufacturer.
    In other words, your PC would have a W8.1 Pro license, but W7 Pro would be preinstalled on it at the time of manufacture.
    So you cannot purchase a downgrade license per se.
    You will have to purchase a full retail or full OEM version of Windows 7 64 bit.
    The difference between retail and OEM is that the retail version can be transferred to another PC as many times as you want provided it is used on one PC at a time, and as you read, the OEM version cannot.
    The retail version of Windows cost about double the OEM version of Windows from what I recall.

  • Where is the HP Envy 700-529?

    Best buy used to carry this model: HP ENVY 700-529 Desktop PC
    However, for some reason, it has been noticeably absent. I like the fact that it has a good Intel and Nvidia card in it. There are other brands that carry systems with similar specs, however, what I've found with HP is that they offer very reliable computers, and they also have good customer service.
    Therefore, I am wondering what the reason for not carrying this computer any more are? Is bestbuy waiting on a new higher tier model to come out, or is the reason you no longer sell it because it just wasn't selling well? Is there any chance that you will be getting it or something like it in again?

    So I don't have the best news for you today  The HP Envy will not be back in stock. However, I did get you some comparable options that will hopefully steer you in the right direction! 
    If you are looking for a computer in the same price range, check out the Acer Aspire TC Desktop PC, these next two are a bit of a step up: ASUS M32AD PC and Dell XPS PC. 
    All these units have the same processor as the HP model and comparable graphics, the difference is the HP has AMD branded graphics where these options have NVIDIA branded graphics.

    On my Envy 700-230 Desktop PC, there is an Unknown Device with a yellow triangle next to it. This occurred after installing Windows 10. What needs to be done to remove the yellow triangle?

    Hi: I have never come across that device before. The only thing I could find was this thread with a related device. http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?37535-An-unknown-device-discovered-while-installing-drivers-for-the-Maximus-VI-Formula If indeed that device needs the Intel Widi driver, then here it is below. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25153/Intel-Pro-WiDi-Software-for-Windows The product specs for your PC indicate it is Intel WiDi capable, so not having the driver for that device makes sense. If that doesn't work, unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.
