RAID drive not loading up

Hello,
On Thursday, I upgraded my op to Tiger 10.4.4 from Panther and then installed the new universal FCP Studio software package. Until then, we had no problems with our Huge Systems SCCI RAID drive. Now, the drive won't even load up upon clicking on its icon on the desktop. What do I need to do to fix this issue?
Thanks,
Jordan

HI Jordan,
Click a clear space on your Desktop. Then click Finder/Preferences/General. Make sure the first 3 tabs are checked and see if that helps.
Also, run Disk Utility from Applications/Utilities and Repair Disk Permissions.
Also, depending on the size of the internal disk, a good thing to remember is your Mac needs 15-20% free disk space just to boot. Mounting peripherals takes space also... to view this information open Disk Utility, select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, then look at the bottom right side of the window where it says: Capacity and Available. You can also see this information using the Activity Monitor. Always a good idea when working with large files to keep an eye on available disk space.

    Hi,
the NFSv4 domain name is not necessarily related to the host name or the host's fully-qualified domain name (FQDN). It can be the same like the domain name, but it does not have to.
To find the corrent NFSv4 domain name, you have to look it up in the NFSv4 server's configuration files.
    Kind regards,

  • Usb hard drive not loading after security update

usb hard drive not loading after security update
I can't seem to find any other posts about this problem.
I have three external hard rives connect by a USB hub to my iMac.
Problem is that if I turn on the hard drive(s) AFTER start up I get a message that the drive either was not recognized by the OS or that it was ejected unexpectedly.
I get the same issue but not all the time if I turn them on before I boot the iMac.
I used the disk drive utility to "repair" the drives but they always come back as "probably ok".
If I restart the iMac with the drives connected (on), it seems to work but not all the time.
A bit annoying as I am wondering if the drives are OK or not.
I don't always need the drives as they are for backing up images from my camera using Apreture.
This all began after i did the latest security update.
    is the update to blame?
    mahalo.

Yes, you can still use those instructions to reset the PRAM.
You said that you booted to your install disk and that your primary drive did not show up at the Select a Destination screen? That usually means that the computer is either not recognizing your partition, or it's not recognizing the hard drive itself.
Start with this article and follow all the steps even if you already tried them. I suspect that you'll get to step 4 and you'll end up having to call Applecare. If you haven't done those steps, they're most likely going to make you do them anyway, so you might as well get them done before the call.

  • Device detected driver not loading correctly per windows

Device detected but driver not loading correctly. Windows says to reload driver. I have reloaded driver and the Nidaq software package (ver 6.9.3) repeatedly to no avail.
Upgrading from old machine that had a 1997 version of driver that work fine under this OS (win98SE).
    What could be the problem?

It's possible the copy of the NI-DAQ driver you have is corrupt, you may want to download it again.  It's available from the Drivers and Updates page.  Also, if you did not already do so, remove the DAQ card before uninstalling the driver and then reinstall it before reinserting the DAQ device.
What DAQ device are you using?  Depending on what DAQ device you have, you may want to upgrade the driver, the most recent version of the NI-DAQ driver for Windows 98 is 7.1.  You can see what driver is best for your device from the DAQ Acquisition Installer/Configuration Troubleshooter and then download the driver from the Drivers and Updates page.
Let me know if this doesn't solve your problem!

  • PDF printer driver not loading

Ok...first off I had CS on another laptop and the driver was there. Got new laptop loaded CS and PDF printer didn't load up. Second. I got and loaded CS3 (not just because of the lost printer driver, but...) and loaded it onto the same *new* laptop and STILL not PDF printer driver. I've looked at the downloads and can't find it available there. This is driving me nuts. I develop proposals and other documents in word (not to mention the PIA factor of not being able to print directly to PDF in AI or PS) and have to dump files to a shared directory so that I can use Acrobat Pro 6 on a desktop before sending out to clients. Arrrrrgghhh (and yes, I know that Talk Like a Pirate Day isn't until Sept 19th.)
I have tried reinstalling or 'fixing' ABPro umpteen times now and find myself fulfilling Einstein's definition of insansity. Any ideas on what I can do to get a *&^%# PDF printer driver to load?

  • Sd card module/driver not loaded anymore

    Hi,
since a recent update (linux 3.16 maybe ? ) the sd card module is not loaded anymore.
I have to load it manually :
    modprobe -v rtsx_usb
(or add a module load in /etc/modules-load.d/)
My guess is that the "block" hook is not finding it anymore...
    Any idea why ?

  • Folders in Drive not loading data

I have a 2006 Mac Pro running 10.7 that I use as a Media Server.
Latley when I go to access data from a fairly large folder(several hundred giga bytes) it does not load or takes a very long time to load.
I transfered all data to another drive and the same thing occurs.
Is their a file size limit for each folder? Doing reasearch online I foudn that there is a theoretical limit but it is very large.
    Does anyone have any insight?
    Thanks,
    Jason K

Is that drive full or 60% free? a good solid 7.2k drive of say 2TB from WD Black series or another enterprise drive?
What and where is your boot drive? The best upgrade I made to my 1,1 was the 3rd and newest Samsung SSD. now $160 for 250GB makes Lion (or SL) run like the wind, loading apps, booting, managing, and all the data is and should always, no matter what, not be on t he boot drive. Assume it isn't anyway in your case either.

  • WinPE Marvell RAID Controller not loading

I am having problems with our Marvell SAS Controllers not loading in WinPE on Lenovo D20 and D30. I have added what I suspect to be the correct drivers for the controller in my boot image.

You could test that you have the correct driver by doing the following steps:
Download the appropriate driver from the vendor's site, make sure to get the correct architecture (x86 or x64, depending which WinPE -image are you using)
Copy the driver (the .inf file) to USB-stick (or burn it to CD/DVD)
Enable command line support for your boot image from the ConfigMgr -console
Deploy task sequence using your boot image to the machine in case (make sure you have the SAS controller configured and disks behind it)
When the WinPE boots up, hit F8 to open up command line, you can stop the task sequence progress in the background at this time
Check with diskpart are there any disks connected (diskpart -> list disk)
If there are not any disks, try loading the driver (.inf -file) for your controller by running
    drvload driverfilename.inf
Check with diskpart does the disk show up now (diskpart -> list disk)

  • Video Raid drive not mounting

All of a sudden our Video Raid drive will not mount. I turn on the drive, let it warm up for 30 seconds or so then power up the computer and it has always mounted. BUT now nothing. I've tried restarting several times.
The drive is a HUGE systems 2.3TB Video RAID U320.
It shows up in disk utility but the two "RAID slices" say offline.
    Any advice or comments?
(I tried reading through the past posts but did not see anything that was helpful in regards to this type of drive)
    Using: Final Cut Pro 5.1.1
    Thanks!

If your RAID is down and you do not have a backup, you have a problem. I have one piece of discouraging advice:
Gather your crew and discuss your worst case project recovery scenario. If HUGE can fix it for you, then you will have the cozy satisfaction of knowing you have a plan in place.

  • R5u87x driver not loading firmware for HP Webcam

    Hi everyone,
I have a HP webcam cam.My driver was detected properly as r5u87x outof the box with lsmod command. After doing an update from AUR repo(which was unnecessary) and loading the firmware with the loader command , it failed to load the giving an error.Since then the r5u87x driver is not present in the modules list.
    modprobe r5u87x
fatal error : no r5u87x module
    dmesg | grep "HP Webcam"

Is it possible to undo the changes to bring the system to its pre AUR repo update state and remove this driver update. Now as one can see  in the messages uvcvideo driver is loaded instead.
Any help will be appreciated. thanks

I would be very interested to know the exact procedure you used to determing that your camera driver was identified by lsmod as r5u87x.
Specifically r5u87x is NOT intended for your camera. Your camera is identified from the Vendor ID (0bda) as coming from the Realtek Semiconductor company. r5u87x is only intended for use with Ricoh cameras (identified by 05ca).
Furthermore r5u87x is not even a driver. It is a userland firmware loader. It injects the camera's microcode into it's volatile memory. Even if you were to use the loader correctly on your system you would only get an error message of "No supported devices found!".
A google search of your camera indicates that it is supported by the uvcvideo driver.
Specifically how have you determined that your camera is not working? Is a /dev/videoX device present on your system? test it with xawtv or mplayer.
As the r5u87x package is completely worthless to your system simply remove it by issuing
    pacman -Rs r5u87x-hg
If your camera continues to not work edit the title of this post to something more appropriate, perhaps "HP Webcam (0bda:5801) & uvcvideo not working". I have no experience or expertise with uvcvideo to begin troubleshooting your real problem.

I bet LUM is not working properly. Go to OES setup and run through the LUM settings.
I had the same problem after a partially failed migration from OES2 to OES11. Also make sure your OESCommonProxy_servername users are correct. This got all messed up for me.

    Hi
I recently did an online udpate and after a few hours my groupwise
stopped working. I checked out the issue and it seems my NSS drive
storing my GWDATA is not mounting, I am running a hyper V environment
and the scsi drive has enough storage.

  • Dvd drive not loading properly

when I load a dvd in mplayer I get this message
    Failed to open dvd://1
or totem i get this message
Failed to find mountpoint for device /dev/sr0
I have added my user to optical, hal and dbus and all .
    My drive is in fstab
    # /etc/fstab: static file system information
    # <file system> <dir> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
    none /dev/pts devpts defaults 0 0
    none /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
    /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660 ro,user,noauto,unhide 0 0
    /dev/cdrom1 /mnt/cdrom1 iso9660 ro,user,noauto,unhide 0 0
    /dev/dvd /mnt/dvd udf ro,user,noauto,unhide 0 0
    /dev/fd0 /mnt/fd0 vfat user,noauto 0 0
    /dev/sdb1 /boot ext2 defaults 0 1
    /dev/sdb2 swap swap defaults 0 0
    /dev/sdb3 / ext3 defaults 0 1
    /dev/sdb4 /home ext3 defaults 0 1
    /dev/sda6 /flebarch ext3 defaults 0 0
    VLC also
    dvd:///dev/sr0
I notice tho that they are all wanting or trying to mount it as /dev/sr0 , why ?
I changed fstab to have it as sr0
    /dev/sr0 /mnt/dvd udf ro,user,noauto,unhide 0 0
    but no go .
It seems it might have something to do with rights, although I have added user to video, audio, optical, hal, dbus. but when I press eject I get this error,
You are not privileged to eject the volume 'OPEN_SEASON'.
it must be something simple that is screwing it all up.
