Rail kit for S20 to rack mount

Does anybody knows a company/provider who has the rail kit that can be used on S20 workstation.
I am looking for some way to rack S20 and the best way would be using rail kit. I am not interested in the shelf mount.
Thanks

the S10/S20 chassis is much too narrow for a typical 4U or 6U rail kit.   you'd need to use a 1U drawer.
i've never encountered a server farm that didn't allow upright server space outside of the racks.   does the S20 absolutely have to be rack-mounted?

  • What is the correct rail kit for x4170 m2?

The x4170 m2 Sunfire server, despite numerous Oracle documentation claims to the contrary, is not designed to fit a 19" rack.  The body of the server is only 16.75" wide, and the entire server, faceplate and all, will fit through the opening in a 19" rack without touching the mounting plate on either side.  The railkit is advertised in various places as 350-1502-01, but the server side rails in that kit (I have one) won't attach to the sides of my x4170 m2 server - the pins and holes aren't even close to lining up.  Does anyone know the part number for the correct kit to mount an x4170 m2 in a standard 19" rack?

  • RE: RD 330 Rail Kit too long for the application space

This is my first time posting, I hope I have submitted this to the correct forum..
    My situation:
We have a Middle Atlantic Rack system model RS-46-28, with 46U and a center unit depth of 23.5 in, the Lenovo servers we are using (RD340E1Us, 3 of them) have a minimun span on the mount rails of 29.5 in, in order to get the servers mounted (correctly!) is there a alternate rail kit for the smaller depth of 23.5 inches, or do I need to purchase 3rd party rail kits.  The servers are configured and production ready, switching them, is not a workable option.
Any experience with this rack system or situation?

    Hi Gus,
I am not familiar with the rack you specified, however here is some information on our rail kit:
"The rack cabinet must meet one of the following requirements:
    • Standard 4-post (square-hole), 19-inch rack configuration compliant with EIA-310-E as defined by the
    Electronic Industries Alliance
    • Standard 4-post (unthreaded round-hole), 19-inch rack configuration compliant with EIA-310-E as defined
    by the Electronic Industries Alliance"
More information on the rail kits / installation can be found here.

    Hi,

  • Rack mount kit for SRW208P?

Hello all -- anybody with 2 x rack mount kits for a SRW208P that they don't want? I need to rack mount these devices but my predecessor very wisely decided to throw them out and Cisco does not sell the racks as a separate SKU. Thanks.
    Victor

Hi Victor, you're right the separate skus aren't for sale. However, I'd recommend to call the SBSC team. A lot of times, if your product is under warranty, they are able to ship a replacement unit to you then you can remove the rack mount and just return the package. It's worth a shot!

  • Mac Pro Rack Mount Kit?

Come on Apple.  If you are change from Xserve to Mac Pro for servers, at least offer a rack mount kit or a case that has attachable rails.  I don't want to use 12U of space to stand up a Mac Pro on a shelf in a rack.
I apologize if you already offer this as an optio, but I sure couldn't find it.

Some rumor sites are saying that a new Mac Pro cabinet is being developed which will change rack mounting. We may know more about it by the end of the summer.

  • Anyone have a used rack mounting kit (076-1234) ?

I bought a great Early 2008 Xserve from a guy. I'm building it up now with fresh ram, new enterprise hard drives etc. It's coming out great. But I need to get a square hole rack mount kit. I thought that would be the easy part, but they're really hard to find. The only places that carry them online, are price gouging the crap out of them because apple has stopped selling them. I don't need a nice shiny new kit though. A well used, paint-scraped rail kit would be perfect.

    Hi stephenberry,
I have 2 Right brackets because it was shipped wrongly from a reseller as well. Would you be willing to trade a left bracket for a right bracket?

  • Rack mount kits doesn't fit the depth of Agilent rack

I have a PXI 1085 Chassis which I want to mount in an Agilent rack.  I purchased the front and rear rack mount kits, the height and width are great, but the depth of my rack doesn’t allow me to use both the front and rear rack mount kits.  Is there some kind of adapter I can buy which will extend the rear rack mount so that it can reach the back?

    Hi Chall,
Unfortuantely we only offer the kits for a certain size range. If this does not fit your rack then you will have to create a custom rack mount.

  • T4-1 rack mount server as a remote server for disaster recovery setup.

    Hi,
I would like to ask some basic questions, as Solaris is not my area.
    1)
T4-1 server is a rack mount server.  Now, we would like to use it for DR purpose.  Can we keep this rack mount server on remote location without conversion kit (to use it as a tower server).
    2)
As I am new to this, would like to ask a basic question. This T4-1 server has 4 * 300GB hdd.   To expand storage capacity, we would like to add hard disks to this server.  Do we have to add 300gb hard disks only ? or we can add 2 new 600 GB hard disks.
    Thanks

    1) Yes, it does not need to be racked to run.  Putting it on a wire rack should work fine. Just verify the power and cooling requirements.
    2) You can add new internal disks, the system holds up to 8 internal 2.5" disks. Using a zpool, I would consider adding 4 more 600G disks for a RAIDZ pool, though you can add 2 600G disks and mirror them.

  • MCS-7835H3-OFFER= Is a rack mounting kit included?

I have a customer who is getting their MCS7835H2-DMM51K9 server replaced with a MCS-7835H3-OFFER=
All I need to know is, does the MCS-7835H3-OFFER=  come with a rack mounting kit or not? If not, could the existing MCS7835H2-DMM51K9 server's rails be reused?
I'm assuming that it's the same chassis but with a faster processor and more mem/disk and would be a straight swap but can anyone clarify if this "H3" part number comes with a rack mount kit?
    Thanks,
    DR

All currently shipping Cisco MCS 7800 servers include a “generic/third-party rail kit”.
    ● Compliant with 19-inch Industry-standard EIA-310D
    ● Depth range of the slides is from 440mm to 790mm
    ● Threaded racks: M6, 10-32, and 12-24
    ● Also enables punched round and square hole racks

    Thanks!

    Hi Chris,
Mounting kits some with a new product or a RMA (replacement ) product.  I am not aware of a p/n you can order for spare rack mounts.

  • Extras from the Rack Mount Kit

With the XServe rack mount kits sending us parts for both the shallow and deep racks, is there something we can do with all the extra parts we do not use? Does apple have a recycle/reuse for them or do we just send them down to the local recycler along with the soda cans from install night?
I also keep thinking there has to be some good use for that large white plastic shipping cover that comes on the XServe but we only have so many doors needing propped open.
    Any suggestions?

Your local Apple Authorized Service Provider would probably love them! If you gave them to him free, he would be your new best friend, and you would strike up a relationship with someone who may work with you when it comes time to procure new hardware.
