Raised MacBook Pro Touchpad - Bottom Left

Hello there!
So I returned from my month holiday in Thailand to open my macbook to see that the bottom left corner is raised and is stiff and doesn't respond to clicks, see picture here: http://sphotos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/66538_10151248776229841_64962021_n .jpg
This is a mid2010 MacBook Pro, 15", I bought it 2 months ago second hand.
What can I do?

i would just liked to know how you fixed this issue , cause i seem to be in the exact situation.
I just came back from a 6 week Holiday today and when i got back, the trackpad was uneven, and raised at the bottom left corner. It looks exactly like the picture you posted. It's an early 2011 Macbook Pro , 13inches. And i bought it second-hand, mid last year (2013).
Please tell me how you solved your problem, cause i seem to be in a very very similar situation.

If "Tap to Click" is enabled, click should register by tapping on any part of the Trackpad.

MacBook Pro touchpad works for multiple-fingered tapping options but not single-fingered tapping

My MacBook Pro touchpad only works when I use the two-fingered,three-fingered and four-fingered tapping functions but it doesn't work when I try to use the single tap function. I have done PRAM resets but it still doesn't work. Help!!!

I tried the above suggestions but it still doesn't work.
The whole left-click functionality has disappeared - I can't tap to click, use a usb mouse or click normally , and I'm wondering if it's anything to do with the hardware. Any more suggestions?

Macbook pro touchpad/curser problems.

macbook pro touchpad curser problems. typing randomly jumps to wherever the curser is resting at the time. unbelievably maddening. multiple devices same all have same problem. hard to believe we cannot find anything on the apple site about this. MANY complaints outside of this site on this issue... clearly a touchpad/battery design flaw being ignored by Cupertino. during the writing of this post, the curser jumped randomly and started typing in a different location six times. IMPOSSIBLE to use as a word processor since typing becomes quite frustrating. HELP. any ideas? Fanboy and shareholder. three macbook pros in the house...all the same problem. (please do not offer separate keyboard as solution...this is a laptop, not a Surface Pro...)

Go step by step and test.
1. Restart
2. Shut down the computer.
    Clean the trackpad with moist not wet microfiber cloth.
    System Preferences > Point & Click
    Try turning off three finger dragging and then turning it on after testing.
3. Is there any Bluetooth device nearby with failing batteries? If so, replace the batteries.
4. Reset PRAM:   http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14222
5. Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
6. Close all windows and quit all applications.
    Click the Spotlight -the magnifying glass icon- in the menu bar. Enter Disk utility in the box.
    Select Disk Utility from the drop down. When the Disk utility window opens up,
    select Macintosh HD, then First Aid.
    Click Repair Disk Permissions button.
    Ignore the time remaining estimate.

MacBook Pro Touchpad/Volume problem

Hello all, I've just upgraded to a MacBook Pro and Logic Pro 9 and I'm having some problems with track volumes changing when I swipe the touchpad accidentally. Does anyone know how to turn that function off?

Hey, thanks for the interest Jazzhead! I'll try and explain it a bit better here. So when I'm in the normal arrange view, you know how there are two channel strips along the left hand side? The track you have selected, plus the output track. Well when I'm trying to move my cursor around or zoom in/out using the trackpad in the arrange portion of the screen, sometimes what I'm doing with my fingers changes the volume on those channel strips. If I have a full mixer up, it will effect some of those channel volumes all though that is less of a problem. It's just really annoying when you go and zoom out of the session using the track pad, and you accidentally put the 1/2 Output to +6dB and not even realize it.

Macbook Pro weird top left noise.

My mid 2012 macbook pro is making some weird strong noise coming from the top left corner. I tried to speed up the fans. They seemed to work but the frequency of the noise varies so it's definitely a problem linked with the left fan. What can I do ? There is no apple services where I live. Thanks.

Get a pentalobe driver and take the bottom cover off of the MBP and inspect it for possible dust and debris in the fan and other parts.

MacBook Pro -Touchpad & Keyboard Frozen - Can't Unlock

After last using my 13" MacBook Pro, I closed the lid to put it into sleep mode. When I opened it back up the next morning, I get the screen display, but both the touchpad and the keyboard are frozen. I can't type in my password and thus can't fully awaken my unit. My OS is fully up to date.

PROBLEM SOLVED:
First, understand that when it comes to Mac's, I'm still a real novice/noob, having been on the MS side of the house since ACSII days. Yes, I have an iPhone and an iPad, but this is a little different.
I opened the lid and first tried Control+R to get to the IOS, which didn't work. The MacBook went back to sleep. I then woke it back up and immediately did what I presumed was a shutdown method only good on Windows machines: I pressed the ON/OFF switch and held it down, to force a shut down.
It worked! Computer shut down, I rebooted and all is well. Thanks dominic, you started me thinking on some things, and I figured "well, why not, what's the worst that could happen?"

Why only MacBook Pro retainer bottom case shows white particles?

But I sure that at home three MacBook Pro & Air , retainer display , only retainer shows white particles!

Macbook Pro / Speakers (Right/Left) Backwards

I have an Early-2008 MacBook Pro, and have had many repairs done, most recently to change the screen bezel due to the iSight camera not working. After that, everything was fine!
But I have just noticed that the speaker channels are swapped. The "Right" speaker channel is not actually right, but left. Is this normal?

Was it repaired at an Apple Store and if so, was that within the last 90 days? If so, bring it back to the Apple Store to have them look at it to see if the last repair caused the issue. If a different repair shop, ask what their warranty on repairs is.

No, that's not normal. It sounds like someone may have switched wires when reassembling the MBP.

MacBook pro freezes when left asleep

When my MacBook pro is left asleep for prolonged periods I have found it beeping and the screen frozen--any thoughts as to why this might be happening? Running OSX Mavericks.

Finish coming off Macbook Pro around bottom of keyboard

I just purchased my Macbook Pro about a year ago now and there's a spot where the finish is coming off. The little strip below the bottom row of keys has a little spot where the finish is rubbing off.
What should I do about this.. is it fixable? Also my Warranty just ran out.. will this be costly?

When it happened to my PowerBook after about six months, I was quoted a couple of hundred dollars to replace the top. I decided just to live with it, and when I bought a MBP to replace it, my first accessory was some surface protectors from http://apeelz.com.
Warranty wouldn't have covered it anyway, unless you managed to find a particularly sympathetic customer support representative-- AppleCare doesn't generally cover cosmetic issues.

MacBook Pro Touchpad Sensitivity

Hi,
I have a MacBook Pro running Leopard 10.5.5. I was wondering if there is any way to adjust the touchpad sensitivity for one-finger clicking. At the moment I have to touch fairly hard in order to register a click. Is there a way to adjust how much pressure is required for the click to register?
I found an option to adjust sensitivity as it relates to dragging, but I couldn't find anything for clicking.

A clarification of my last post:
The problem seems to be not with the sensitivity of the touchpad but with how much time the OS waits for another touch before registering the click. When I turn off dragging completely, one-touch clicks register almost immediately. I understand that there needs to be some delay when dragging is turned on in order to allow for double-clicks, but no matter what I set the Double-Click speed to, the delay seems excessive before a click will register.

My macbook pro touchpad malfunction?

My macbook pro automatically cycles between opening, launch pad, the dock, and adjusting the brightness, and gets worse the longer it stays on, I have no clue what is causing this, and it was working earlier today. the issue literally started out of nowhere. It may just be the particular screensaver you are using - try another. Is it one of the defaults or one you downloaded or created?
Also, you might creating a fresh user to test.
Create a new account, name it "test" and see how your problem screensaver works in that User acct? (That will tell if your problem is systemwide or limited to your User acct.) This account is just for test, do nothing further with it.
Open System Preferences >> Accounts >> "+" make it an admin account.
If the problem is present in the test account also, then it is systemwide. In this case try repairing this with the 10.5.4 Combo Update . This is a fuller install, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have applied it before.
Remember to Verify Disk before update and repair permissions after update from /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.
Until it's sorted, you can use Screen Sleep in Energy Saver.
