RALPH - I know this is redundant... but

My uncle has an 800 meg eMac.
We've always connected just fine, with good speed.
He's just changed from DSL to cable.
I can connect with him, and his picture is good, but he
starts out at 15 and drops to 1fps in about 10 seconds.
I tried giving him PowerBoost, but nothing changed.
We're able to multi, as well, but his speed stays at 1fps.
His cable download is 6k and his upload is 384.
I have other chatters with only 384 up and they work fine.
Any suggestions?

Like Defcom says it could be hang over items from that.
There is a list of stuff it could be in the FAQ.
I would get him to open the Activity Monitor in Applications/Utilities.
When it is open select All Processes in the drop down at the top.
He need to Concentrate on the items towards the top of the list above the DOCK.
IF he has launched Dashboard all his Widgets will be active.
iChat and iChatAgent should be active.
Look for anything that suggests an AntiVirus item (AV)
Look for any Print Manager that might be stuck
If he is sure what the item is like a print manager he knows is not printing he can use the Quit button and Force Quit the item.
(I presume you meant 6Meg down)
Get him to recheck his Quicktime settings.
System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming tab
If he is fastere than T! (1.5Meg) then he should use 1.5 and not the LAN/Intranet one.
He should also check iChat > Preferences > Video > Bandwidth Limit and make sure it is set to NONE and not capped there.
Am expecting it to be the things higher up like an Unsuitable (for Tiger) Add-On.

Well you can't use it. The iOS 7 Activation Lock is pretty secure and you can't bypass it.

It's a sweet little app for deleting, saving and restoring your preferences.
I am guessing that in the upgrade your prefs got tweaked or QT did some finkydinky, there was an old post that referenced FCE, but that may help you...
The workaround is to download Quicktime manually, after removing the "receipts" which indicate that it is loaded. Specifically, I was told to do the following:
1. Navigate to Library -> Receipts on your main drive (not from your personal folder).
2. Remove all files of the form QuickTime*.pkg, where "*" is a version number. E.g. QuickTime600.pkg, QuickTime650.pkg, Quicktime700.pkg and QuickTime701.pkg. This simply tells your system that those packages are not installed.
3. Go to http://www.apple.com/quicktime/downloads and click on the "download Quicktime" link. DO NOT USE THE AUTOMATIC UPDATE UTILITY. Download QuickTimeInstallerX.dmg. Double click this file (probably on your desktop) and then invoke the installer by double clicking QuickTime701.pkg.
4. After your computer reboots, you should be able to restart FCE and see your camera.

I know this Is popular, but PLEASE HELP!

I'm just getting ready to start my very first semester in college, and its time for me to buy a laptop. Here are some of my concerns, hopefully somebody on here can help me decide on which one to get, i'm looking to go buy one tomorrow!
Pros and Cons about getting a MBP vs. MBA?
If i don't use the cd drive, and end up getting a MBA, can it handle just as much memory as the MBP?
What else can somebody tell me? Best battery life, best screen resolution, my spending limit is right about 1600...

True. But do you need that much? Find out. Because given clouds, given what people keep on phones, on-line, on external drives, you may not need as much as you think. My point being, don't panic about space unless you know you really need plenty of it--and need everything on tha laptop at all times. And keep in mind that 8gb RAM (for MBA--definately go for that) with SSD is going to be very fast indeed compared to a regular HD. Also, you can put more on SSD than on an HD.

(2) Play on both. What's most important is that you love your computer. If you love your computer, you'll enjoy working on it. If you don't like your computer, you won't enjoy working on it. The two have different feels--pick the up, weigh them, type on them. The computers may make the decision for you.

I know this is basic but I am lost

I have not used DVDSP in a while (I am using DVDSP-4) so I am a bit fuzzy. I have created the project and set the first play to menu-1. When I play the simulator it plays the first play but at the end of the first play does not jump to my main menu it just repeats the first play.
I recall that prevously this connection was automatic once first play was assigned.
What am I missing? How do I make the connection from first play to my main menu?

The software disk that is included with the scanner may not be up to date, you may have to go to the "Manufactures Support Site" and download the latest update.

Can anyone tell me why everybody is excited about this MTP issue?

The v2 firmware update for the Zen Micro and MTP in general allows you to plug your player into any Windows XP SP systems with Windows Media Player 0 on it and transfer music and manage your media. It's makes everything more uni'versal and means you don't need special Creative drivers on a computer before you tranfer files anywhere.

Many years ago, I had a copy of fireworks and dreamweaver. It seemed like I only worked with fireworks and created websites, links etc. Do you have to have both and somehow they work in tandem?

My suggestion would be to forget about Fireworks, because the application's development was stopped in May 2013, and no updates are coming its way either. It is dead software, unfortunately. It is already experiencing compatibility problems on the latest Mac OS, for example, and it is only going to get worse.
To create a simple website, you have two choices: you either learn basic html and css code (as Mylenium suggested), or you use a visual editor.
I have a feeling you veer towards the visual editor solution, so here are some options:

I know this will sound ridiculous but I have "lost" the arrow key (to go back or forward) at the top on the bar. I swear I used to be able to just click and arrow to see the previous page and now it's not there. Help!?

If this is Safari that you've lost the arrows in, go to Safari > view > show toolbar.
If the toolbar is present and the arrows missing then right click on the toolbar and select "customize toolbar".
Drag the arrows or the default set back to the bar.

please try this (all terms are translated from my German programs to my best knowledge):
1. Did the creator of the pdf file enable the import options?
2. See import options: choose an other visibility option for your layer.
3. Let you show the import options and click into one with a black background and try these out (often a gray is selected).
4. See trimming: try the different modes there. Often works: "Media".
5. Is the pdf file (eg from Word) correctly created?
6. Is the PDF file protected? >>> no import possible.
7. If that does not help, store the pdf file in Acrobat, repair possible errors, run the PDF Optimizer before placing in InDesign.

I don't know what has happened but I now can't open iphoto. I get a caution when I try which says the iphoto library is locked! It was working perfectly fine this afternoon until I tried to upload some photos from my camera and my computer started to run very slow and wasn't recognising my camera. I tried to quit iphoto and then when I came back in to it, this was the message I received. As far as I am aware I didn't alter any settings or put on any locks. Please help!!

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later...
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

In that case, it should be possible. I haven't tried this directly, but I believe it should work.
You'll need to get an actual AirPrint compatible Printer.

Once you have the compatible printer, using the Hotspot feature from the iPhone he'll have to create the Wifi bubble form the iPhone, and connect the Printer to that Wifi network.
Then connect the iPad to that same Wifi network provided by the iPhone. When all that is done, the printer should appear in any of the Apps that can Print under the Action Arrow button.
For instance in email, pressing the action arrow should show a Print option. In there the printer should appear.
Alternatively you can simply buy a wireless router and setup the network through there even if there is no internet attached. Connect the wireless printer to the router network, and connect the iPad or iPhone to that same wifi network to print.

Hi there, I have a personal art website that I've been having trouble with. The website in question is http://www.aidenart.com. The issue that I'm dealing has to do with the concept art page which you can click on using the top navigation bar. On that page there are thumbnails of images and when you click on any one of those image thumbnails you should be taken to a new WEB PAGE with the full image on it. The fact that the link brings you to a new web page is important.   On each of the web pages that shows the full image I want to provide some navigation for the visitor to use. There's going to be a button that will link back to the main concept art page and a jump menu that will let the visitor go to any of the other concept art pages that they want. Both of those things I already know how to do. The thing is I also want put in NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons that will allow the visitor to go to the next or previous page in the list of concept art pages even if they've never visited the page before.
I know this can be done because I've seen other websites that have it. I took a look at their source code and most of them seem to be using some sort of javascript code with an onClick or onChange behavior. If someone could just help me find the basic coding for making this happen in Dreamweaver with maybe at least two or three pages then I could probably figure the rest out from there.
The last time I asked this forum about this problem everyone seemed to think that I wanted to create an image gallery, but I don't. I want the visitor to be able to cycle through the WEB PAGES that have the image and might have more images in the future, not just the images themselves. And using some sort of code that has to do with the web browser's history isn't going to do what I want.

This type of navigation, which can be seen in the upper right corner of stories that use it, is exactly what I've been trying to accomplish for quite some time now.

With this example the website even used images as the buttons instead of just simple input buttons. I'd like to use my own images for buttons if I can.
My computer is a Macbook with the most recent operating system (as far as I know) and I have Dreamweaver CS5 installed on my computer.

Your example uses straight text links. Nothing fancy, no complicated JavaScripts are used. Just a lot of manual linking.
