RAM Compatibility Issue

Hi all,
I tried to purchase a RAM upgrade from Crucial.com for my Mac and was told they do not sell RAM upgrades for my model due to compatibility issues. I am lost and don't know where I should go for a quality product or if it's even worth upgrading at this point.
This is what I need:
1.0GB (1024MB) PC4200 DDR2 SODIMM 200 Pin Memory Module 128x64 533MHz for *NEW October-2005* PowerBook G4 'Aluminum' 15" & 17" 1.67GHz Models using DDR2

OS 10.4.11 and HP Officejet 4500 compatibility issue (scanning)

I am having a compatibility issue with a G4 (OS 10.4.11) and a HP Officejet 4500 (all-in-one).
(Sorry if this is a little long, but there are many specs and many attempts listed here).
Problem: I cannot scan from the computer (upon opening HP Scan, a Browser Device window pops up, asking to "Choose a scanning device" the model is not listed, and it continues to search for a device but cannot find it) or from the scanner control panel to the computer (I tried selecting Open in HP Scan and Open in Preview from the panel –it then says on the panel "Starting scanning" but it doesn't scan even though the power button flashes (it then reverts to date and time), and the program it's opening in on the computer just seems to hang).
Still, some functions work fine:
- I can print from the computer to the printer (it recognizes the printer)
- The HP fax test seemed to run fine (via computer)
- As a stand-alone device (without the computer), I can photocopy in B&W and color –so there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the scanner itself.
Here are the specs:
Computer specs:
- PowerPC G4, 933 MHz, 512 MB SDRAM, running OS 10.4.11 (no Intel Core processor)
(the hard drive is partitioned into 3 –one runs 10.4.11 (the others Jaguar and OS9 –for compatiblity with other programs/peripherals) –21GB space remaining on 10.4.11 partition
All-in-One specs:
- HP Officejet 4500 G510g-m (USB, not wireless) all-in-one (printer/scanner/fax/copier) with USB 2.0 high-speed A-B printer cable (says in literature and on box it is compatible with the G4 running OS 10.4.11, 256 MB RAM, 500 MB HD)
I contacted HP Tech Support. They suggested the following which were tried and failed to work:
- shutting everything down and restarting (many times)
- they checked to see if there was any update to the HP software –there didn't appear to be
- plug power cord directly into wall outlet
- switch to USB 2.0 cable (from 1.0)
- unplugging and replugging the USB 2.0 cable
- plug USB directly into the G4
- turning off the firewall (under System Preferences - Sharing)
- "scrub" or complete uninstall of all HP software (twice)
- search and removal of files via system and user libraries pertaining to HP (and some Epson files)
- verify and repair permissions (twice)
- reinstall of HP software (twice, second time after scrub/uninstall and verify/repair permissions)
- Software Update (via Apple menu) –only found Java 1.3.1 and 1.4.2 Release 2 (version 2.0) which they suggested might fix the problem –I downloaded and installed them, and then J2SE 5.0 Release 4 (version 4.0) which I downloaded but could not install (error message)
I then contacted Apple Tech Support and they said to go to support.apple.com and do a manual search for "HP 4500" –I did not find any drivers.
[I did previously have an Epson CX 4600 all-in-one which scanned fine with a USB 1.0 cable, even after the printheads had clogged shut –and I had had a HP Officejet J4580 which worked fine (which was for a family member) –this software would've been removed with the current HP installs and scrubs]
I am on the verge of returning this –it has also gotten several very bad reviews on the Apple site (for the wireless), however, I may have trouble finding a compatible device, as one running 10.4 is getting hard to find (unless I buy used, then no warranty and potentially other problems).
If anyone knows of any drivers or has any other information as to why this is not working, I would be most grateful (BTW, I am not much of a tech guy, so please bear with me).

MSI R9 290X Lightning & PCIe 2.0 Compatibility issues?

A week ago I purchased the 290X Lightning from Amazon (Sadly, their logistics service was horrendous and is another reason why I returned both), Instantaneously I had issues. I thought the card must have been faulty as I have a 700W Cooler Master rated PSU which could easily handle the load I would have thought... (Correct me if I'm wrong here. I did try both cards with 8+8+6 and just 8+8 Pins), so I returned it for a replacement.
Sadly, the second card also had these issues of constant rebooting or freezing/stalling on light loads or heavy loads (more frequently lighter loads oddly enough?) e.g. Using VLC or Web Browsing.
It occurred to me today that the 290X has a different method of power delivery and uses the PCI express bus slot for power too, is there any reason to speculate that my Motherboard (ASUS M4A78LT-M) with Generation 2.0 PCIe x16 slots have compatibility issues with the 290X lightnings power delivery?
I would love to try and get a working 290X lightning but I cannot waste my time and money constantly sending them back...

I myself am running an 850 Watt PSU, and with the beast of a card the Lightning is, 700 May truly not be enough.
PCI-E Gen 3.0 cards are backwards compatible with Gen 2.0, so that is not the issue. Up until last week I was running the Lightning on an Asus Saber-tooth 990 FX R2.0 board which is Gen 2.0 and had no issues. But my UPS battery alarm would go crazy when I fired up a game. This never happened when i had even 2 x GTX 780 cards in SLI, so this card alone is still pulling more juice than my system ever had (even with SLI 780's). So I would really suspect your PSU is the culprit here.
What drivers are you running? I had Bluescreen with the latest 14.6 betas and eyefinity......
(And why don't you like Amazon's logistics, I find amazon the be one of the BEST on-line e-tailors I have ever used)

FireWire Compatibility Issue

I have a '12 PowerBook G4 1.5 GHz with 1.25 GBs of RAM with Super Drive running 10.5.5 that I'm backing up to a OWC Neptune using Time Machine. It uses a Oxford 911+ chipset. My previous external hard drive used a Oxford 911 chipset.
Recently I've started getting Time Machine error messages related to some sort of chipset related FireWire compatibility issue. My OWC Neptune's firmware is up to date too. What could possibly be causing this to happen?

I already tried zapping the PRAM due to my ethernet not working on my '12 PowerBook G4 1.5 GHz & it didn't fix my FireWire issues either. I'm also still getting the "Unable to complete backup. An error occurred while copying files to the backup directory." error.

Compatibility issues between iMacs running CC Cs6 Premiere Projects.

I have a 27" iMac at work, it has 3.4 ghz processor Intel Corei7, w 8gb 1333 mgz DDR3 ram, and a Radeon HD 6970m 2048 Graphics processor, it has OSX 10.8.3
at home I have a 21" iMac, with a 2.7 ghz Intel Core i5, 16gb 1600 mgz DDR3 ram, Nvidia GEForce GT 640 w 512mb running OSX 10.8.5
I want to work on same project in both locations. The 27" will not open a project started on the 21" and I have updated both Premiere's on the same day. Is this a hardware issue, or how the imac preferences are set up? I also have issues running Magic Bullet with Premiere on the 27" and no issue integrating it on the 21".
Any help would be appreciated.

My concern is going back and forth between the versions... I read somewhere there are compatibility issues with Premiere....Can the user working in CC go back to premiere CS6? and vice versa?

MSI Twin Frozr GeForce 770 Compatibility Issue?

My new system crashes intermittently during any game. I normally can play for about a half hour but the times very greatly. Also the way the game crashes varies. Sometimes the game will just shut game. Sometimes it will freeze. And Sometimes the computer will turn right off.
I think it might be a compatibility issue because when I put my other video card (A GeForce 550ti) into this computer it runs fine. Also when I run the GeForce 770 in my other computer it seems to run fine there too.
Do you guys think this is a hardware compatibility issue? Or do you have any troubleshooting suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated.

E-MU 0202 or 0404: Questions before I buy (latency, compatibility issues)

I'm currently considering buying an E-MU 0202 or 0404 (probably the 0404). Before doing so, I'd like to ask a couple of questions to those who already have one. I have an Athlon x2 3800 with an Asus A8N motherboard, Gefore GT6600 display card and 1GB RAM. This should be enough for fairly good performance, but I wanted to find out what others are experiencing. I plan to use the interface for recording high-resolution audio from an audiophile turntable setup as well as home recording of electric guitar and MIDI keyboard so I need both the high-res 24/96 (and even 24/192) for the vinyl recording, and good MIDI/ASIO latency performance for recording 24/96 guitar
1. What kind of latency performance are you getting from the E-MU ASIO drivers?
2. With my current soundcard, an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum, there have been compatibility issues with the nforce4 chipset. Has anyone run into any such problems with the 0404 yet? The 0202?
3. I have three external hard drives running through USB. Could these compromise my performance to any great degree?
4. One other option I've considered because of the hard drives is running the 0404 SPDIF output into the ZS SPDIF input. Is it possible to record this way to the PC instead of through the USB port?
5. Finally, how about overall compatibility with the Audigy 2 ZS. I plan to keep it for surround playback. Has anyone run into compatibility issues with the drivers for either the ZS or the 0404? How about between the 0404 driver and the kxproject drivers for the ZS (I currently use them).
Thanks for your help. Both E-MU USB products seem tremendous. I read a fantastic review of the 0404 recently so I'm looking forward to picking one up, but I need to make sure I'm not disappointed if it doesn't meet my needs.

I've posted it here and in the unofficial forum and no one has answered any of my questions, yet I see that people who posted similar questions after this one got answers right away! Hey I don't expect special treatment or anything but why ignore my message and answer the others, especially if you work for Creative/E-MU and have a potential sale? Or are the answers likely to prevent a sale?

I'm planning for my new rig with the MSI X79A-GD65 (8).
I found in the memory compatibility guide page 7 that the "G.Skill [RIPJAWSZ] F3-12800CL9Q-16GBZL" kit that has 4 dimms as advertised.
filled the 8 dimms in the test
does it means i can use two kits of this with no problem???
please advise cause i'm on a harry to buy.

3. G.SKILL guarantees module compatibility within this specific Quad Channel kit. Combining with other memory kit or module (even with same part number) is not recommended to avoid any compatibility issue.
In fact, 8 memory modules is not a good idea at all.
There will be a huge bandwidth demand and you'll need to raise the voltages and/or to slow them down.
Otherwise you'll get into stability issues.

Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 and OSX 10.6 - Compatibility issue

I've bought a new MacBook Pro (2,53 GHz, 4 GB RAM) and OSX 10.6.4 . With the old one (MBP 2,16 GHz, 1 GB RAM, still with OSX 10.6.4) the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 went perfectly.
Now I'm experiencing a major compatibility issue: the same mouse, even with the same OS version but only a different MacBook Pro, won't be recognized.
Bluetooth: activated
Bluetooth firmware: latest
Mouse: ON with batteries OK
OPERATING SYSTEM: same (first restored via Time Machine and then updated with Apple Software Update)

I went through many of the same frustrations as the members above...my mouse had been working after the upgrade and then when I set up for a presentation with a room full of teachers it wouldn't connect. I replaced batteries, etc... so I resorted to the pad.
When I got home i checked the batteries and tried to reconnect following all the "normal" steps until I read the comment above about removing the existing device in the bluetooth preferences. Once I did that - the 5000 connected like a champ! Yeah! This is the one mouse that I have really appreciated, especially since both of the USB ports are side by side and don't allow for multiple USB connections from my "wide" cellular USB card.

Windows 10 Compatibility Issues

I want to upgrade to the new Windows 10 Operating System. Apparently, this is going to be a compatibility issue with my laptop. I have the AMD Radeon HD 7640G Graphics Card. It would seem Windows 10 doesn't like this. How can I correct this problem before the release date in July? Thanks.

8770w - 32GB RAM upgrade issues

Hi there, I just upgraded my RAM memory on my 8770w from 16GB to 32GB using corsair Vengeance CMSX16GX3M2B2133C11 and was really hard to my laptop to recognize the whole memory and when it got it. after several minutes i always get the bluescreen with different kind of errors... i already used the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI and the RAM memory is good. and i already updated the BIOS. but the same result.

Definitely compatibility issue. Please use the following site to scan your machine. It will tell you exactly what you need and compare with RAM you bought.

Firefox browser compatibility issues webdynpro for java application

Hi,
we have migrated SAP net weaver SP 21 and also to IE8 and Firefox. we have compatibility issues in Firefox like input fields, labels and command buttons are not properly aligned when comparing with IE 8.
Could you please give suggestions to fix this problems.

I am having trouble accessing webmail on TalkTalk (formerly Tiscali) using Firefox 5.0 and TalkTalk tell me there is a compatibility issue?

I had no problem with my previous version of Firefox and I can access my TalkTalk/Tiscali webmail using the latest IE browser. I am able to sign in but cannot access the mailbox contents. When I asked TalkTalk about the problem they have stated the following "If you are unable to access the mailbox using Firefox version 5, then I would like to inform you that there is compatibility issue with Firefox version 5 and Talk Talk webmail, due to which you are getting the above error. You can also try uninstalling the latest version of firefox and then reinstall it to the earlier version to resolve the case." May I assume that between you this difficulty will be resolved? I would prefer to use Firefox and do not wish to revert to IE.

Apparently TalkTalk mail will work with Firefox 4 and Firefox 5 ''if'' you set the browser to ''lie'' to TalkTalk mail by saying that you are still using version 3.6.

Note: when you open about:config the first time, it will display a warning message that you should be careful with the changes you make. That's definitely good to bear in mind.

Has anyone had a chance to thoroughly test the 6.04 version of iMovie (download version if you install iLife 08) and know what compatibility issues there are?
I.E. How well does iPhoto 08 play with iMovie 06, or iMovie 06 with iDVD 08. Are the third party plugins problematic with v6.04?
From what I saw at the Apple store, iPhoto08 and iDVD08 would be the only apps that I would really want since iMovie08 seems to be a step backwards and iWeb is still lacking in everything that I wanted improved. But I don't want to waste the money to discover all sorts of "gotchas" with trying to get iMovie06 to play nice with the rest of iLife08...
Also, has anyone done an install excluding iMovie08 entirely? Do you still need to download 6.04 if installed this way? Are there any pitfalls?
This is like Deja vu or something...When iLife06 first came out, I installed everything but iMovie and stuck with iMovie05 for a long time cause of all the bugs and how long it took to get the third party plugins working...

Of all the things for people to moan about with iMovie '08, the real unfortunate thing is it's inability to import effects, etc. (essentially your completed movie) from iMovie HD. One could somewhat forgive Apple for this debacle, if only it played nice with iMovie HD. Then it could be everything it's supporters say it is, i.e. "a different app," "a simple app for simpletons in a hurry" (although I find it's lack of tools and compatibility issues more difficult to manage).
...and a lot of us feel like this is the thing we're going to be stuck with going forward.
I keep thinking that something else is going to happen, because this can't be right. I think this diver/video engineer who came up with this concept is suffering from the bends.
Apple doesn't need the money, (as in making us buy Final Cut Pro for decent video editing), trust me, so I don't understand why it would take the PR hit.
iMovie '08 spoofs are already on YouTube, etc.
