Ram Does not free up on my N73

Friends,
I own an N73 Music edition phone.
2 weeks back , I tried to update my phone using NSU and got it corrupted.
I took it to Nokia Care Centre and they fixed it up. It had the new firmware installed. ie., 4.0839.42.2.1
The problem started from that day onwards.Usually I use Handy Taskman to close applications to free up ram. But from the day, Applications close , but they do not give back the complete ram they consumed. Thus ram reduced to 3-5 mb gradually even though no application is running. Then everything goes out of order. Bluetooth dont work, Cant send sms, cant recieve or make calls. It shows "Memmory full. Close some apps". I have abt 29 mb free phone memmory and abt 600 mb in card. But the ram is just abt 3-5 at that time. This happens everytime and i have to restart everytime.
Someone please give some solution....

Hi there,
after the update have u done the reset(*#7370#) because once i faced this sort of problem where my phone memory automatically reduces and finally ends up by not allowing me to even open a SMS and says "memory full" I found out that when i apply the "Waveform" theme(red one) i face this problem i resetted With *#7370# and things got OK for me and since then i am not facing any "Memory full" problems try this out
Dont forget to back up ur data before doing this
Cheers............................

  • Exfat drive does not free up space after deleting files

My external exfat formatted drive does not free up space after deleting files using a mac....however if I delete files using a PC, it will free up space.
I've even tried the *erase free space* using Disk Utility, but nothing.....
    Thoughts/Suggestions??

    Thanks for the suggestion.
I ran WhatSize and here is the result. Oddly, it says there is 40.2 GB used (in the top-left) which conflicts with the information directly below it: "Capacity 108 GB, Used 103GB, Available 4.27 GB". Not so helpful.
Disk Inventory X solved the problem, however. Much thanks! I wasted most of my weekend troubleshooting this sad issue. Anyway, Disk Inventory X revealed a bug where my external hard drive for photos was still appearing as a mounted volume, even though the HD was no longer connected. Freaky.
After moving it to the trash and deleting it, I've recovered the space.
Again, thanks! Contact me if you're curious about the details, as this might help you diagnose similar problems in the future.

  • [SOLVED} Suspend to ram does not work (with sleep, s2ram, pm-utils)

    Hi.
I would like to ask for one thing: i can't suspend to ram or resume from suspend to ram.
I treid to check over www in order to find some help, some solutions, and how to fix that. Unfortunately, i found these:
    https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread. … 13-2/page2
    https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=913105
    https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread. … S-13-1-x64
Bug 91921 - WD 2TB Caviar black causes hard lock on resume S2RAM
    https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91921
In fact, when i was researching of this problem i wanted to check if my graphic card and memory are failing so a did few changes (removed memory stick and so one) but in doing this i removed almost all of my hard disk drives because i didn't want to hurt them with many reboots or resets.
What did i find? It is strange, kernel version is not important because i checked most of them.
I removed 2x2TB Seagate F14 series along with 4x3TB WD Green. Then i checked s2ram, it went to suspend, and resumes correctly. Everything works. I put it to sleep with s2ram -f -a 1. Works
I attached my 4x3TB WD Green drives. I put computer to sleep with s2ram...it causes hard lock, black screen, i could do only poweroff by powerbutton. s2ram -f -a 1 causes freez. Sometimes, but not constantly, s2ram -f -a 3 -p is being able to suspend...(mostly it does a freez, hard lock computer) but sometimes it is able to put it to a sleep, but resume just freezes everyting - no blinking cursor, no blinking num lock led and so on.
I know that you would suggest me to check logs - this is the main problem. Logs for pm-suspend works when i suspend or resume without WD drives attached. When i have them connected, i'm not able to check pm-logs because computer hangs, freezes and logs are not being stored/writed to pm-suspend.log and pm-powersave.log.
Could somebody help? Point me to a solution? I can't check logs because there are not any when freezing occurs. I checked openSuse thread and many others and for other systems there were some kernel fixex, patches.
They wrote that WD blacks are at fault because they don't have APM. Well, in fact my WD Green have APM with very aggresive factory settings: they park heads over 8 seconds not being used. I disabled it in firmware but disabling it is not the point and not the problem. People have the same problem even with APM and parking heads on other WD drives, i found it that some have it with WD Red's drives and even with very old 320GB WD Blue series - what is more funny, i have 640GB AAKS blue from WD and with this drive i can suspend or resume - APM on this drive is also unavilable, like in Green series because i changed it with wdidle with prebootable cd. I can't  supend or resume with 3TB WD Greens.
BTW - suspend to disk, with pm-utils and uswsusp works ok, in 100% every time. (i had to add "shutdown method = shutdown" to /etc/suspend.conf from uswsusp package).
On Windows machine it works. Can suspend, can resume, can hibernate.

Hm, sometimes i found myself astonished because some things just does not work at all on one machine, while the other one has no problem at all. I was trying to find why suspend to ram won't work at all...and while i was searching i found one topic that was leading to upower dbus. Similar problem with upower i found, by coincidence, on Manjaro forum.
    dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest="org.freedesktop.UPower" /org/freedesktop/UPower org.freedesktop.UPower.Suspend
this command above returns all the time:
Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "Suspend" with signature "" on interface "org.freedesktop.UPower" doesn't exist
    I tried this:
    sudo systemctl enable acpid.service
    sudo systemctl --system daemon-reload
    sudo systemctl restart systemd-logind
As soon as i enabled and started acpid.service...my supend to ram, from kde, works like a charm, without graphic problem, or freezing.
There is few question: why on my desktop suspend doesen't work out of the box, when even archwiki says it should? Why on my netbook machine (Acer AOD270) that has the same package installed it works out of the box? Why on my desktop machine acpid.service was not enabled, was not started and was not running while on the notebook it does?
Anyway...i fixed it by a big coincidence because on Fedora forum somebody has problem with suspend to ram with nvidia GTX750 and this card was new like my card (GTX660). He posted the same problem with upower that i posted in quotes and because of this i found another thing on Manjaro forum and that was it!
BTW - this problem, i now think, is not related to my WD drives because it works with them. I think that there was another one ugly thing that broke my suspend to ram ability - bios of my motherboard (so called uefi bios with support for old one) has no option for S1-S5 stated (like the previous motherboards had) and only have ASPM...and ASPM is in my opinion broken but i will try to veryfi it one again later.

  • IE 10/11 does not free up, hangs - unkillable process

    Hi!
I have a problem with IE since about 2 years now. IE does not close/exit correctly, i have always to do a system reboot!
IE 9 worked fine, never had a problem with this version. Since v10 and now v11 i cannot close IE completely. If i close the open tabs and exit IE, the program window closes, but there are still one or more 'iexplore.exe *32' processes running in the background
(with massive RAM consumption - non growing). I always try to kill the open process(es), with no luck, it will not exit! I can restart IE again and can use it, but after exiting the hanged processes are still running. So i have always to do a system
restart several times a day. This is unacceptable!
I tried following things till now to get rid of the problem (nothing worked!):
    - starting/using IE 32bit with/without addons, IE 64bit (forced mode) with/without addons.
    - un-/reinstalling Flash v10/v11/v12/v13/v14/v15
    - trying to kill 'iexplore.exe' and 'iexplore.exe *32' with "Windows Task Manager", "Process Explorer", "Process Hacker", "System Explorer", "Advanced Process Termination", "taskkill.exe", "pskill.exe",
    "killprocess.exe", "process.exe"
    My PC:
    Toshiba Satellite L670D - Win 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 - IE 11.0.9600.17280
    IE Addons:
    Adobe Shockwave Flash Object
    Adobe PDF Reader

    Class
    Oracle Deployment Toolkit
    Skype Click to Call
    Skype add-on for IE
    Your help is very appreciated.
    Thank you, Frank

    @Robert:
Yes, i just can't believe that i can not kill this process. It could be so easy if any of this 'artillery' had worked.
I had read much about the idea of looking up the "Handles" of a task, but i never got the point of this investigation... what exactly should i am looking for? How should i proceed there?

  • Help needed: Disk space does not free up even after deleting files.

Background information for this problem: I have my iPhoto library on an external HD, and was importing files from that same drive into iPhoto, and began receiving messages that I was very low on disk space on my internal HD. From here, it seemed like iPhoto was using my boot drive for some kind of cache. Regardless of the actual reason, I began moving files from my internal HD to fix this problem temporarily (while I was importing).
At this point, I started fiddling with my files and found that no matter how many files I would delete from my HD, the available space in the finder would not free up. *At this point, I have less than 20GB on my HD, yet it says I have 1.23 GB available out of 108 GB.*
Here is what I have already tried to fix the problem, to no avail:
    a) Original user was using Filevault. I backed up all the files, created a new user without Filevault, and restored the files.
    b) Booted from CD and used Disk Utility to erase free space.
    c) Verified and fixed permissions
    d) Deleted all app and system caches (via CacheOut X)
    e) Fixed/Repaired all user/system preferences (via Preferential Treatment)
*Does anyone have any idea what's going on?*

  • Emptying trash does not free up HD capacity

    Hi there
I just posted a similar question about my SSD problem.  250gb total capacity.  Only found 120gb in files/folders/apps.  Should have 120-25gb free.  But instead I have 25gb free (and SHRINKING).
Everytime I use the trash, and empty, there is no INCREASE in capacity.  This does not make sense.  PS:  I have just had my SSD inspected by Genius Bar, and they created a new partition.  I reloaded my files (etc) from timemachine, and same problem.
    Ouch!

  • New RAM Does Not Run At Correct Timings

    Hey guys,
My package arrived today.  Brand new OCZ PC3700 Gold Edition 1GB Dual Channel kit.
Before installing, I clocked back my CPU to default speed and set the memory frequency to Auto.
I stuck in the new modules and booted up. Booted in dual-channel, but only at 400MHz when they're DDR466. Strange.
I went into the BIOS and manually set the frequency to 466, and they booted fine. My CPU booted at 3.26GHz instead of the default 2.8, I assume because I have 1:1 ratio set and my FSB must keep up with the memory.
According to CPU-Z though, they're running at 2.5-4-4-10, when the website says they run at 2.5-3-3-7.
What gives? I thought they would run at their rated timings when they're at the default frequency.
Also, how do I know what timings I should use for different FSB speeds? I was planning on trying some overclocking tonight to see how far I should get, but I need to know what to set the timings at before I do so.
Also, what should I set the MAT to in the BIOS? he options I have are Normal, Fast, Turbo(MAT) and Ultra-Turbo(MAT).  Does the MAT setting affect the RAM timings?  In what way, exactly?  The MSI website does not explain MAT in any great detail.  Also, what should I set this at when I overclock?

SPD uses info programmed into the ram sticks to decide what settings to use for particular speeds. You can use a utility like Sisoft Sandra to see what is programmed.
Normal, Fast, Turbo and Ultra-Turbo are the performance mode settings. Fast and higher enable the PAT mode (see  P4 Neo Unofficial Guide ). However, at FSB settings higher than 218, PAT becomes disabled. At settings higher than approximately 225, the 'lost' performance is regained. The settings themselves allow the bios to set progressively more agressive memory settings.
When you set the RAM speed to 400 instead of Auto, and set the CPU FSB at 225 or higher, a lot of ram that won't run in Ultra-Turbo at other settings is able to run.
As for the ram speed rating, it isn't the speed the ram runs at. It is the maximum speed it is supposed to be able to run at. When you set the ram speed in the bios, you are setting the speed it runs at when the cpu FSB is at 200. Increase the cpu FSB by 10% and the ram runs 10% faster.
Any time you increase the FSB setting, make sure you go to the AGP/PCI setting. It will be greyed out, but you can hit the enter key anyways. Then select the closest setting to 66/33 you can find. This will keep the AGP card stable and prevent data corruption problems with SATA drives.

  • Mavericks on my late 2013 Mac Mini (8gb RAM) does not recognize my APC650CI UPS as a UPS

I have a late 2013 model Mac  Mini running Macvericks.
I just bought a an APC Back-UPS XS 650CI for it (I have 3 other Back-UPS 650CI for other systems - Windows 7 and 2x Netgear NAS setups).
In the Energy Saver panel of System Preferences the Back-UPS 650CI is not recognized, but it IS correctly listed in the USB section of System Profiler.
I have tried other UPS monitor programs: PowerSave UPS does NOT recognize it, but apscupsd DOES recognize it.
The Netgear ReadyNAs DOES recognize the new unit (I tried swapping the two Back-UPS XS 650CI's around)
I have reset the UPS - still not recognized.
I have tried on of the other Back-UPS XS 650CI's that I have around - not recocognised.
I have reset the Mac's Pram - still not recognized
I have reset the Mac's SMC - still not recognized
I have reset the com.apple.PowerManagement.plist - still not recognized
My ancient Macmini1.1/Intel Core Duo DOES recognize the Back-UPS 650CI in the Energy Saver panel of System Preferences.
    Thanks for your help
    Andrew

    Answering myself
Had long conversations with APC/Schneider (quite helpful once you get past the drones)
They weren't aware of the problem but it does seem that Apple have removed/omitted the code that used to recognize the APC Back-UPS XS650CI at some point after Snow Leopard - Lord knows why.  This despite the fact that it is correctly listed in the USB section of System Profiler.
The only solutions that I can see is either for APC/Schneider to get Apple to reinstate the relevant code (unlikely) and/or for APC/Schneider to issue an updated version of PowerChute for Mac (long overdue), which is possible but don't hold your breath.
I bought the (rather expensive) PowerSaveUPS app from the Apple Store but that doesn't work either (http://www.powersaveups.co.uk/) - I've emailed them to grumble but no reply yet.
In the meantime best bet is to use apcupsd for Mac - it isn't ideal but it works - RTFM.
The latest iteration is available on http://sourceforge.net/projects/apcupsd/files/osx-binaries%20-%20Stable/3.14.11/
    Cheers!

  • Full GC does not free all memory

System is configured with a large heap (~3G), probably much bigger than it needs to be IMHO, but the developers are seeing the following and want to know why:
As the application runs heap is used, we see minor GCs and finally see a Full GC.
After the Full GC very little memory is actually freed:
    14970.654: [ParNew 3192761K->2803025K(3210880K), 0.0796463 secs]
    14980.616: [ParNew 3183162K->2794633K(3210880K), 0.0818737 secs]
    14983.435: [GC 2892773K(3210880K), 0.5296831 secs]
    15006.100: [ParNew 3186595K->2795356K(3210880K), 0.0833804 secs]
    15018.538: [ParNew 3195996K->2805448K(3210880K), 0.0809474 secs]
    15023.679: [GC 3006631K(3210880K), 0.2788505 secs]
    15039.125: [Full GC 3174181K->2766248K(3210880K), 66.1657414 secs]
    15108.029: [GC 3058032K(3210880K), 1.2886333 secs]
    15110.294: [ParNew 3166871K->2782594K(3210880K), 0.0857900 secs]
    15113.205: [ParNew 3183234K->2799956K(3210880K), 0.0949253 secs]
15149.340: [Full GC 3200596K->2781407K(3210880K), 66.4635854 secs]However, if they force a GC from an external source (such as Jconsole) MUCH more memory is freed.
The question is, why is so little memory freed when an automatic Full GC happens compared to a forced (externally initiated) Full GC?

    Hi Jeanette,
Looks like the data is getting overwritten in the DSO. This usually happens when there are records with same Key Fields and also has certain characteristics that are unique but not key fields.
I suggest, you take a subset of a GL for which the data does not match, then compare the entries in the DSO and the PSA.
For Eg: If Business Area is not the key, then the data for all the same business areas will be overwritten. Thus making the BA key would eliminate the problem.
    Hope this helps.

    Gaurav

  • Deleting files does not free space

    Hi!
I'm confused as to how to free more space on my MBP. It keeps saying that I only have 7 GB  free space (I think there should be plenty more...) and often enough says that the start disk is full and needs more space.
I have deleted quite a few films and photos, emptied the bin and restarted the computer.. only to discover that I still only have 7GB free. What am I doing wrong?
The computer is slow, programs keep freezing, the colourfull circle appears and Safari keeps crashing. (I have no idea if these things are related though) Please could you help me? I know it is a stupid newbie question, but I would very much appreciate some help! I tried to find solutions on different forums but have not really understood the answers people with the same problem have been getting.
    Please help?

    Thank you shldr2thewheel and AnaMusic.
A follow-up question: I ran OmniSweeper and do not understand the answer I got.
What on earth is that?? What ever it is it takes enormous space but I dont dare to touch it as I really dont know what it is or does. Can I just delete it?
The second largest post according to the Sweeper is "Caches". Is that just deleteable? Nothing important?
    Thanks a lot!

  • Deleting videos does not free up space

I recently recorded a handful of videos (about 15 minutes worth) that brought my iPhone to full capacity. I deleted them, but didn't notice much space getting cleared up. I needed to record some more videos last night, and noticed I did not have enough space, so I connected to iTunes and unchecked "sync all music" to remove my music from the phone. This freed up about 1.5 gigs of space, enough to record what I needed. I noted at this time in my settings under Usage, that my "Photos and Camera" was listing 3.1 GB. I recorded the videos I needed, synced them to my computer, and deleted them, but now I'm still seeing my "Photos & Camera" as 5.1 GB, and I no longer have any free space, and cannot put my music back on my phone.
I have double checked to make sure they are stuck in iCloud somewhere (My Photo Stream is turned off) and I have quit the Photos and Camera applications, done a Soft Reset, synced with iTunes, but to no avail, I can't seem to get my space back! I couldn't find anyone else having the same issue, but it was hard to find search words that didn't turn up posts about upgrading iOS (which I also need to do!).
Is this a known issue? Is there any way to do a trash collection on the iPhone that will clear up unlinked memory? It's quite a bit of a problem for me to not have any more available space on my Phone even though I deleted the things that were previously taking it up!

Go back into the "Photos" app. Go to "Albums".   Are your videos etc  still sitting there in "Recently deleted" ?   If they are - delete them from there too.

  • Deleting from USB does not free up space

I have a USB flash memory drive and when I delete files from it for some reason the space that the file used is not freed up. For example if I delete a file that is 6MB it will still say that 6MB is in use even though I have deleted it. I exchanged the drive for a different one but I am having the same problem with the new one. Any suggestions (other than going in to disk utility every time to erase the whole thing)?
    Thanks in advance!

Thanks. I got this far, too. I emptied the trash and the 'get info' for a SanDisk USB flash drive shows that it is empty (249.7 MB available). When I tried to load 103 photos all at once I get the "not enough space" message. When I load the files in increments of 5-10 files it works up to a point and then I get the "not enough free space" message, when I try to load one more file. This is after I've loaded about 103 MB onto the drive. Yet, when I 'get info' on the flash drive it shows plenty of space still available.
I have even checked the USB flash drive on a windows machine as well and it also indicates the same amount of free space.
    Any suggestions?

  • Mac Pro kernel panic, RAM does not seem to be problem

My Mac Pro (late 2006) now has kernel panics at startup. Problem first happened while computer was in sleep mode, a second kernel panic happened about 10-15 minutes after reboot the first time. Now it happens at startup every time. Zapped PRAM multiple times to no effect. Tested original 10.4 install disk, as well as 10.5 and 10.6 upgrade disks with all external connections removed and from a cold boot. The 10.4 disk causes the kernel panic every time. The 10.5 and 10.6 disks do too, if the C or D key is depressed. The upgrade disks will hang in a gray screen (10.6) or pale blue screen (10.5) with no keys depressed--computer keeps running but fails to boot. Also tested the RAM (4 X 512 MB) in different combinations of one pair in the top riser board (and switched risers, and removed lower board completely). All resulted in kernel panics. Next option?

To anyone finding this thread in the future looking for help on a similar problem, the CNet forums Mac section gave me the correct advise: replace the video card. The stock GeForce 7300 was causing the kernel panics. I replaced it with a Radeon HD 3870, from eBay, and everything went back to normal operation. (I did also have to upgrade my OS for the new card to work properly.)

  • Time Machine: "Delete All Backups of..." does not free up drive space

When I select "Delete All Backups of..." in the Time Machine Finder window, fiiles get deleted, but no disk space appears to be freed up.
    For example...
Today I deleted all backups of more than 100GB of Movies and TV Recording I no longer want in the archive [the same movies have already been deleted from my Macmini].
But Time Machine hard drive spare space has not increased at all.
    Why...

    Hi Robert J McInnes!
Try using the following information to attempt to delete your backup filed another way:
OS X Mountain Lion: Remove a backed-up item from your backup disk
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11241
Without entering Time Machine’s starfield, you can move, copy, or delete the Backups.backupdb folder on your Time Machine backup disk as you would other folders. You can also delete folders within the Backups.backupdb folder. You can’t delete individual items inside the dated folders.
Important: Do not use Terminal or any application other than Finder to move, copy, or remove items from the Backups.backupdb folder.
