Ramp-Up Projects

Hi
I think it will be good with a list of the Ramp-Up projects with a little information about the project.
Here at VELUX A/S, Denmark, we are today running a 3.5 BW on HP hardware, HP-UX OS and Oracle DB and we are in The Ramp-Up for Netweaver 2004s.
We will in the new system run our reports on an SAP Portal.

Hi together,
Benny's idea to exchange some information within this forum is great.
In addition, we (SAP) will approach the Coaches (and therefore the customers) to set up a distribution list amongst interested customers for the facilitation of this comminucation.
We have to do this formally to prevent distribution of customer details without their consense.
  Best regards

  • Convert Web Report to PDF

    Hi all,
I need a possibility to <b>convert Web Reports</b> designed in WAD <b>into PDF</b>. SAP help portal says: 'You access BEx Web applications and reports in the portal. You can then convert these into PDF files and print them.' (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/03/d8c041a227ca17e10000000a155106/frameset.htm)
But I haven't found any documentation how to do this...could anyone please help me? Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Dominik

    Hi Dominik,
You will need to add a URL or button group to your template and use the command wizard to create the command ("Export Web Template"). You should be able to find more information in the SAP Help documentation for SAP NetWeaver 2004s, which I know you already have a link to.
If you are on a ramp-up project, you should have access also to the Ramp-up Knowledge Transfer (RKT) in the SAP Service Marketplace at service.sap.com/rkt-netweaver. This site contains materials that explain the new features, including the new web items and the command wizard. If you don't have access, check with your SAP consultant for assistance.

  • Class Instantiation Issues...

    Hi,
We are currently having issuses with a Class Interface.  Everything was working fine with it, and now it says that the class is 'not instantiated'.  If you are in SE80 or SE24 and try to test a class (e.g. CL_HRRCF_APPLICATION_CTRL), you will get a pop-up that allows you to replace generic parameter types.  Now with the non-working class, it gives a screen similar to your transport organizer, with the class name at the top with '<not instantiated>' beside it, and a list of methods below it.  This Class is being used through the web.  Also, in the title bar in 6.40, it says, 'Test Class CL_HRRCF_GLOBAL_CONTEXT: No Instance'.
<phew>... so, has anyone else run into a problem like this, and if not, does this make enough sense?  Is there a way of instantiating a Class Interface without calling it from a program, like generation?
    Best regards,
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin
I am also working on an eRecruitment 3.0 ramp-up project. What I have found is that most of the classes etc used rely on other classes etc further up the chain, they cannot be tested in isolation. Instead it is normally necessary to set a breakpoint and then log into the eRecruitment Fornt end via a web browser. The class will then be instantiated in the normal process, as you work through the system pages, and called appropriately.
This is a BSP issue. The class in question is a basic building block of the eRecruitment BSP pages.

  • BPC7M - BPC 7 for Microsoft SQL Server

Does anyone have any insight as to what new features will be available in version 7 (or 7.5) of BPC for SQL Server (not Netweaver), and what their "target" release date is?
    Best regards,
    Greg

    Hi Greg-
You might consider checking out the Ramp-Up Training link in Service Marketplace:
    https://websmp210.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_FRAME=CONTAINER&_OBJECT=011000358700000552182008E
Ramp-Up Knowledge Transfer workshops are designed for consultants and other persons who are actively participating in the Ramp-Up phase of a new SAP product. Your application for enrollment request is given first priority if you are:
Running a Ramp-Up project (for example, as an SAP customer)
Assigned to a Ramp-Up project (for example, as an SAP partner consultant)
Nominated by a regional Ramp-Up owner
Nominated by SAP-internal Field Organization Managers (for example, from Presales, Support, Consulting, or Training)
These RKT workshops will focus on the deltas between the BPC5.xand BPC7.0 [MS and NW] products.   The BPC7.5 release is still evolving and has not yet been fully defined.

  • DRQ : Option to spilt the Batch in Batch Management

    Hi Development Experts,
At present I am working on a SBO 8.8 PL 04 Ramp Up Project, where I come across the requirement of separating few quantities from original Batch No. to new Batch No.
I beleive this is a offerable and most in demad (I read several thread on this topic also) feature.
The feature/function should be offered in Batch management option.Where a new batch No. and Qty. for new batch no. and othe batch details for new batch can be asked.
The scenario is generally my customer procure material against specific requirement and mark the batch no. as per the specific requirement. However sometime my customer procure some material for stock and mark the Batch as Stock, then he is utilising material from batch-stock in batches only against specific requirement.
So if this feature is added my customer can keep on generating new Batches from existing Batch marked as Stock, till stock last in original Batch marked as Stock.
Actually the qty in main batch will reduce so there is no need to create a separate transaction for it, however If required internal automated Goods Issue and Goods Received document can  be generated to record the Batch split transaction.
I end with a hope that development team will approve the request and consider it for the development !!!

  • Running a custom process chain from BPC

    Hi,
I have created a process chain in BW to load masterdata from a BW infoobject to a BPC infoobject. Is it possible to run this process chain using the data manager in BPC ? Do I have to add any BPC process types to the chain in order to make it work ?
    Thanks in advance ...

There is no 'official' documentaton available. What I stated before is just the results of communcation with our SAP Executives ... ramp-up will start on begin december, release expected around end Q2 2010 (depending on ramp-up projects). About content of new functionality: to be expected:
    - better integration BW: DM package for loading of master data from BW, multiple selection options in transformationfile, business process flows and drill though.
as I  said, to be expected, since not official yet ...
    hope this answers your question

  • Documents on Enterprise Search

    Hi,
I wish to know about SAP Netweaver Enterprise Search. So if anybody have documents (pdfs, text files, ppts etc.) ,  SAP Notes and links regarding that please provide here.
Send the documents to the following mail id.
      [email protected]
    /* response will be appreciated*/
    Thanks & Regards,
    Tamil K

    Hi Tamil,
ramp-up means that SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search is not yet released with general availability (GA) but with restricted availability. In this phase SAP works very closely together with customers and partners that are interested in the product, want to use it in a productive environment and commit to provide feedback. As ramp-up projects are looked over very tightly the number of supported ramp-up projects is limited. Customers can apply to take part in the ramp-up process and there are still some open places for SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search. If you want to learn more about the ramp-up process please take a look at: http://www.sap.com/services/rampup/index.epx. If you are interested in participating in the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search ramp-up please contact your local SAP account manager.
    Hope this helps,
    Ingo

  • BPC Questions

Just couple of questions on BPC:
    1) Does anynone know, or heard of when BPC classess will be held in version 7.0NW?
    2) I'm assuming most if not all implementations right now are using version 5.1M (not including the ramp-up projects ofcourse). Is that an accurate assumption?
    3) After reading the great Blog by Ryan, it didn't say much about the planned delivered planning functions (e.g distributions, Currency conversion, Revaluation). Does anyone know which planning functions will be delivered in the standard BPC 7.0NW system?
In BPS was over twenty planning functions, then in IP it was reduced to less than a dozen, so just curious what if any will be delivered with BPC. Or will we be forced to program them ourselves with the logic script (something similar to FOX)?
    4) Besides BPC being a more user friendly development tool where you don't have to rely on the technical staff to do all of the development, what from a functional point of view are the biggest selling points of BPC over IP, that I can express to my current client?
    Thanks all.

    Hi Ehab,
    Here are some answers.
    1. Only Ramp-Up training sessions were offered on the 7.0 NW release so far, the standard trainings for 7.0 NW have not yet taken place.
    2. Correct, only Ramp-Up customers can use the 7.0 releases. The other customers are still using 5.1 for their implementations
    3. No planning functions are delivered in the first 7.0. You will however have all the Business Rules functionality (Currency Conversion, Consolidation, Allocations engine, ...). Specific planning functions can be created in the BPC Script Language or in ABAP (possibility to call ABAP program from the BPC Scirpt Logic)
    4. Here are some selling points:
    - BPC front-end is fully embedded in Excel (+ Word and Powertpoint integration)
    - Consolidation functions available within the same tool
    - Flexibility of the tool (user interface, data model)
    Regards,
    Marcel

  • HPA - feedback

HPA or currently known BI accelarator seems to be quite interesting and all presentations and demos seem to be impressive.
      1. It would be nice to hear from folks in the ramp-up projects about their experience with HPA. Does is show remarkable results that would be visualized by a reporting user?
      2. How would a large data volume active environment change or impact the way HPA offers its benefits? Are there any special items to be considered in terms of change runs on high volume master data and their subsequent impact on aggregate rollup - compression and then vertical decomposition in the HPA environment ?
    Regards
    Karthik

    Hi Karthik,
    1. our first ramp-up customer is satisfied which is best described by the fact that they want to go live with BI accelerator in March. Our second customer tested BI accelerator and found it performing better in all test cases they've defined than the Queries on the aggregates.
    2. You should expect much better performance esp. with the change run but also with the rest of the processes. This was not part of the tests our first customers did, though.

  • EIC Employee Interaction Center Implementation

    Hello
We want to implement EIC. However, I do not have any resource to start with. It is the first time I have come across EIC.
The EIC component is installed with ECC 6.0. We currently do not have Solution Manager.
Can someone assist on how and where a newbee should start for EIC implementation?
    Regards

    5) I believe this is your first EIC implementation Paul. Was there any source of EIC Knowledge for Implementation apart from the help documentation? Could you suggest any online resources or books that have helped you or would help me ? Any cookbooks ?
This question was for Paul so I will let him respond but there are multiple cookbooks as I have been involved in ramp up projects for EHP1, EHP2 and EHP4 (all of which have new EIC functionality) but they are copyrighted and property of SAP and it is my understanding that they cannot be shared. Enclosed are some blogs that I have written that "hopefully" contain some help for a new implementation.

    6) What kind of basis support is needed for setting up EIC ?
Basis support is needed in a part time role for an EIC project to set up environments, copy baseline config from client 000, activate services, apply OSS notes, web dispatcher, RFC destination configuration, enhancement packages, implement business packages, portal definition etc. Sorry about the formatting....not sure it is showing up this way.
