Ran iTunes as administrator

i accidentally ran itunes as the administrator(right click- then run as administrator-oops)... now my microsoft home and student 2007(microsoft office 2007) isn't working. can someone help me? everytime i try to open something, it starts trying to download some thing and then it fails. I really need help!

If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset and are running any kind of net monitoring software like Bsecure, Net Nanny, AVG Family Safety, Safe Eyes, Covenant Eyes, Norton Online Security etc... I would suggest that you try uninstalling said software and reinstalling iTunes 10.5 to see if that corrects the issue.
The other option is to use Microsoft Fix it tool 50203.

  • Running iTunes as Administrator fixed "iTunes has stopped working" error.

I have this problem with iTunes.  Whenever I try to access the iTunes store, I get the Windows "iTunes has stopped working and needs to close" error.  I am running Windows 8 64-bit.
If I run iTunes as Administrator by right clicking the iTunes icon and clicking "run as Administrator" I no longer experience the issue.
I'm running the latest iTunes version as of 10/11/2013.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Music disappeared after i ran itunes match

almost half of my music disappeared from my desktop folders after I ran iTunes match. Now iTunes can't find the files to play them. What happened? and most importantly, Why? I've had a lot of this music for over 6 years

I have the same problem. And it feels like it is getting worse. I do not understand what is going on.

  • Hi, I purchased itunes match in order to convert the previously purchased songs that reflected copyright and would not copy to other device.  Ran itunes match however, I can not find a way to obtain my 62 matched songs to place on hard drive to copy.

    Donna,
You have to delete the DRM copies from your library first.

  • Itune needs administrator rights to install updates in win xp sp 3

I have an issue with ITunes application with user profile and administartor profile. ITunes needs administrator right to install updates.
Under normal user profile , ITunes not able to install any updates.
It required manual works from administartor to run the application as "Administrator". Application level permission ( itunes.exe ) has full rights to the user,
but still ITunes needs administrator rights.
Please advise on how to install iTunes updates without Administrator rights.

It can't find the uninstaller. Use Revo uninstaller for the PCSuite and all Nokia related driver software and clean the registry with Ccleaner.

  • I just ran iTunes match on my library and only 31 out of 1570 songs loaded

New to forums and mac, so not sure if I am doing this right but seems to be my last resort for support on my apple products according to Apple.  Having a multitude of problems doing just basic things on my mac and not even sure where to turn.  I have a mini and ipad and synched them last night so now ALL my music and ALL my photos live on my ipad now and it is FULL.  Thought I would lighten the load on my ipad by subscribing to iTunes Match so the music would reside in the 'cloud' but after iTunes chugged on through the night last night, only 31 songs of 1570 song library has the little cloud symbol.  Was told by Apple that as soon as I get them formatted correctly it should all work like magic.  Not a clue what I need to do.  Can anyone help?

    Hi,
    I don't think you're crazy.
I think that you have fallen into the same trap as many other posters.
First and foremost, you can only use Match on a computer that has itunes with your music on your hard drive (or extenal drive). If you had not applied match to your old computer, you have lost your music except for songs previously purchased from the itunes store.
If you have a back up, you can restore the music to your new computer.

  • Is the iTunes U Administration Guide out of date? Info on private sites needed

Am I missing something or is the iTunes U AdministrationGuide out of date?
    http://deimos.apple.com/rsrc/doc//iTunesUAdministrationGuide/Introduction/chapte r_1_section_1.html
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes_u/
It seems to refer to the ‘old’ iTunes U instead of the new public site manager. I must admit I find the iTunes U documentation quite consfusing and unitiuative. The web layout of the PSM and Admin guide in particular is very poor.
I was looking for some information on iTunes U private sites, specifically how they differ from public sites and how to go about setting one up, but I can’t seem to find any information at all in the iTunes U documentation. Could someone point in the right direction?
    Thanks

No, my understanding is that it's for all the channels.
    Thanks

  • Screen Resolution Issue, Itunes? Vista?

    Hello!
Ok, so every time I open Itunes my screen resolution gets automatically switched to the lowest possible resolution. An itunes pop up keeps saying:
"For best results with itunes, use a screen resolution of at least 1024x768. You can change this setting in Display Settings".
Which doesn't make sense to me anyway because why would it be switched to low when its saying it needs to be higher?
I go into control panel and switch it back to a higher resolution only to have the same problem EVERY time I open itunes. I'm using vista but the pop ups are definitely from itunes. A second pop up message that shows up is:
"Itunes.exe has been set to run in compatibility mode for an older version of windows. For best results turn off compatibility mode for itunes before you open it."
So, I check under properties for itunes.exe and compatibility mode is NOT checked off. I can't figure out where to turn off compatibility. This issue and the pop ups only started after I ran itunes "as administrator" so vista would let me edit song information.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanx

So I've answered my own question. In the properties tab of itunes.exe I went into Settings for all Users and unchecked the screen resolution option. Relatively simple, but it proved exceedingly frustrating. I guess in Vista you just have to uncheck everything twice. I still can't get rid of the compatibility mode message, but that was the least of my worries.

  • Authorization isn't working!!

Every time I try to play a song bought with iTunes, it wants me to authorize it. I do, it succeeds, but the song won't play. I click on it to play, and it says I'm not authorized to play it. I authorize. It is successful. The song won't play, it says I'm not authorized!
I'm on 3/5 machines authorized to play my music. Ive never had this problem before now.

    Thank you for the suggestion.
I did not do it exactly as you suggested, that is, turning UAC off- but I did something just as good. I ran iTunes as administrator and it worked perfectly.
Thanks a lot for the idea- I would have never gotten this fixed.

  • Itunes/Bonjour/Apple Mobile Device won't Install even though I'm the Administrator

Since late February I have been unable to reinstall ITunes.  It all started when I tried to update it, and it wouldn't work.  Ultimately I uninstalled ITunes and tried to reinstall it, but I kept getting this message that the Apple Mobile Device could not be installed(?), and that I have to verify that I have sufficient privileges to install.
    Since then I have:
    Ran as the administrator
Made sure that 'everybody', 'my user' and the 'administrator' (pretty much just me) have full access
Turned the User Account Control off
Cleaned up the registry using CCleaner
Used Command Prompt to check the C drive?
Used the SubInACL tool to repair any file and registry permissions (from here)
Nothing worked.  I also went to the ITunes music folder, made myself the administrator, and it still wouldn't work.  Recently I uninstalled Quicktime, Bonjour, and the Apple Mobile Device, Apple Software Update, Apple Application Support....everything Apple.  Still couldn't install Itunes.  In fact, now I can't install Bonjour or AMD.
When I tried to install Bonjour, I got the message:
"Service 'Bonjour Service' (Bonjour Service) could not be installed.  Verify you have sufficient privileges to install system services.".  If I hit 'ignore', then it'll just do the same thing except replace 'Bonjour' with 'Apple Mobile Device'.
    I'm at a lost.
    I have a Hewlett-Packard laptop
    HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC.
    64-bit operating system.
    Windows 7 Home Premium
    Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
    Processor:  AMD A4-3305M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, 1900 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Locations
Installed physical memory (RAM) = 6 GB
Total physical memory = 5.48 GB
Available physical memory = 1.98 GB
Total virtual memory = 11 GB
Available virtual memory = 7.39 GB
    BIOS Version/Date = Hewlett-Packard F.49, 12/25/2012
    SMBIOS Version = 2.7
Hopefully, that's enough info.  Any help will greatly be appreciated.

    Hey mrsslick,
This section contains information that might help your situation if you're using Windows XP:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Quit the following programs if they're running:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Choose Start > Control Panel.
In Control Panel, open "Add or Remove Programs."
Select iTunes from the list of currently installed programs and click Remove.
When asked if you would like to remove iTunes, select Yes.
After the uninstallation is complete, don't restart your computer if you're prompted.
If other program entries were listed for iTunes in Add or Remove Programs, remove those as well by repeating steps 4-6.
Remove all instances of these applications by repeating steps 4-6:
    iPod Updater
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Restart your computer.
You should be able to remove Apple Mobile Device Support by following those steps above. The article you came from however is for Windows XP - if you're using Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8, follow the directions in here:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
The steps in "Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel" and "To remove these components, follow these steps" are the most pertinent.
Let us know if following that article helped at all.
    Regards,
    Delgadoh

  • I have a new PC and I am getting the message "The iTunes Library File cannot be saved.  You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."  I am the only one using this PC and I have Windows 7 Pro and have an administrator account.  Help

Can anyone help me with this problem.  ITunes message," The iTunes library file cannot be saved.  You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."   I have administrator account and transferred files from old PC.  I downloaded new iTunes program on new PC.  I synced my iPhone to new PC, no problem.  I deleted old account after indicating shared files to new admin account.  Can anyone help?

A belated reply, as the problems itunes has have discouraged me from using it much. If you uncheck the "read only" box, it doesn't stay that way! Next time you use it, the box comes up checked.
I'm still having that problem, even when I open iTunes as administrator.
I've yet to see the answer to this problem. I use itunes mostly to download audiobooks, and I'm ready to download more, and want to save them!
