Ran out of user accounts

hi ive apparntly ran out of user accounts even tho ive de-autherised two computers recently is there any way i can reset my account to be able to use my new computer with my account

If you've reached the limit of 5 authorisations you have the option once a year to deauthorise them all in one go and start over. By the way, this has nothing to do with the number of products you've purchased and registered. The reason for this is that you have a limit of 5 computers on which you can play purchased content: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation
If your system crashes or your reinstall your operating system without deauthorising iTunes first, even a single computer can use up your limit of 5 authorisations. See also this article: One computer using multiple iTunes Music Store authorizations

  • 2012 R2 RBA: Remove / Delete buttons greyed out Administrative users account (sec role/scope) clean up

    I am seeing something odd with one of my RBA settings.  Keep in mind I am seeing this as a 'Full Administrator'.
    I created a new test Security scope, Security Role, created a test Active Directory group and then entered that AD group as a new account name under Security>Administrative users.  I added the new Security Role under the Security Roles tab of the
    Account name (Administrative users) properties and also added the security scope that I created under the Security Scopes tab.  I was able to see all the settings I had created/exported in the RBA viewer and everything with the role worked as desired.
    I am now looking to clean that up but I don't seem to be able to.  I am starting under Administrative Users>Account name and trying to unlink the Security Roles and Security Scopes that listed in those tabs.  However, remove and deletes on this
    stuff are all greyed out.  If I add another role to the Security Role tab I can then remove that, but I cannot remove this 1 particular one.  The result is that I cannot remove the custom Security Scope, Security Role and ultimately the Administrative
    user.
    Does anyone have any idea why I can't remove the security roles and scopes from the Account Name?

    I'm able to "delete" one admin user or group (account name) from Administrative users node (\Administration\Overview\Security\Accounts). I tried with custom security role/scope etc....even the same user was part of \Administration\Overview\Security\Accounts.
    It seems something wrong with your FULL admin account ? Do you've any other FULL Admin account? If so, can you try with that account?

  • Java SE Ver 7 Uxx locking out domain user account failing Kerberos PreAuth

    Java SE Ver 7 all updates are failing Kerberos Pre_Auth and locking domain user accounts because of truncated UDP packets.
    When a user opens a page that uses JavaScript their domain account gets a bad password, subsequent openings in the lockout threshold window (5 in 30 minutes for us) results in a domain account lockout.
    I have done extensive troubleshooting of this issue and have root caused and been able to prevent it with a less desirable solution. Oracle fixes for the bug below (basically same issue) do not work for me or i'm implementing them incorrectly.
    This effects XP\Win7 (32Bit browsers with IE 8 and 9).
    Java SE Ver 7 U21 and lesser updates are failing Kerberos Pre_Auth (KRB5KDC_ERR_PREAUTH_FAILED)due to the use of UDP instead of TCP. Starting with the SRV request, UDP exceeds MTU and gets truncated enroute to the KDC. This results in the eventual response from the KDC as bad credential and eventual account lockout if user repeats call for Java.
    We have been able to force TCP by blocking UDP 88 on a test station's windows firewall. This prevents the bad password, but injects a delay while kerberos times out UDP and fails to TCP.
    Java BUG 8009875 lists the "udp_preference_limit=1" value that forces Java to use TCP, but i can't get this working with a KRB5.config or KRB5.ini file in the c:\windows directory. Even utilizing an environment variable KRB5_CONFIG does not work.
    Our expected result is to force Java 7 to use TCP for Kerberos transactions and not UDP. This will be a stop gap until the release of Version 8 next year, which BUG 8009875 says corrects the default UDP call to TCP.

    I had this same issue. My fix was to create a custom jass config file that specific to not use the local tgt cache.
    If you would like I could provide you with this setup.  1.7 uses GSS/SPNEGO as the first method of auth, this will essentially disable this method of single-sign on.
    Http Authentication
    GSS/SPNEGO -> Digest -> NTLM -> Basic
    It looks like you got a fix so this post could be worthless

  • MBP won't log out of user account

    Hello,-
    My MBP won't log out of my user account.  It just sits at a white screen with the apple logo.  I have to reboot it (several times) to get back
    to my user accounts.
    I have done a disk repair and it worked fine for 2 days then back to issue.
    Any suggestions?

    If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. This procedure is a diagnostic  test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything suggested in this comment.
    Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed, as well as some other aspects of the configuration that may be related to the problem.
    Don’t be alarmed by the seeming complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out. Here's a brief summary: In each of two steps, you copy a line of text from this web page into a window in another application. You wait about a minute. Then you paste some other text, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page. The sequence is copy; paste; paste again. That's all there is to it. Details follow.
    While investigating the problem, you may have started the computer in "safe" mode. If possible, these steps should be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing. If you can only boot in safe mode, you can still use this procedure, but not all of it will work. Be sure to mention that in your reply, if you haven't already done so.
    Below are instructions to enter UNIX shell commands. The commands are safe and do nothing but produce human-readable output, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you question the safety of the procedure suggested here — which you should — search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects. I am not asking you to trust me. If you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them.
    The commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it.
    Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. Step 1 should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
    Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
    When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
    Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    PB=/usr/libexec/PlistBuddy; PR () { [[ "$o" ]] && printf '\n%s:\n\n%s\n\n' "$1" "$o"; }; PF () { o=$($PB -c Print "$2" | awk -F'= ' \/$3'/{print $2}'); PR "$1"; }; { o=$(( $(vm_stat | awk '/Pageo/{sub("\\.",""); print $2}')/256 )); [[ $o -gt 1024 ]] && printf "\nPageouts: %s MiB\n\n" $o; o=$(kextstat -kl | grep -v com\\.apple | cut -c53- | cut -d\< -f1); PR "Loaded extrinsic kernel extensions"; o=$(launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|org\.(x|openbsd)|\.[0-9]+$/{print $3}'); PR "Loaded extrinsic user agents"; o=$(launchctl getenv DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES); PR "Inserted libraries"; o=$(crontab -l); PR "User cron tasks"; o=$(cat /e*/lau*); PR "Global launchd configuration"; o=$(cat ~/.lau*); PR "Per-user launchd configuration"; PF "Global login items" /L*/P*/loginw* Path; PF "Per-user login items" L*/P*/*loginit* Name; PF "Safari extensions" L*/Saf*/*/E*.plist Bundle | sed 's/\..*$//;s/-[1-9]$//'; o=$(find ~ $TMPDIR.. \( -flags +sappnd,schg,uappnd,uchg -o ! -user $UID -o ! -perm -600 \) | wc -l); [[ $o -eq 0 ]] || printf "\nRestricted user files: %s\n\n" $o; cd; o=$(find -L /S*/L*/E* {,/}L*/{A*d,Compon,Ex,In,Keyb,Mail/Bu,P*P,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo}* -type d -name Contents -prune | while read d; do ID=$($PB -c 'Print :CFBundleIdentifier' "$d/Info.plist"); ID=${ID:-No bundle ID}; egrep -qv "^com\.apple\.[^x]|Accusys|ArcMSR|ATTO|HDPro|HighPoint|driver\.stex|hp-fax|JMicron|microsoft\.MDI|print|SoftRAID" <<< $ID && printf '%s\n\t(%s)\n' "${d%/Contents}" "$ID"; done); PR "Extrinsic loadable bundles"; o=$(find /u*/{,*/}lib -type f -exec sh -c 'file -b "$1" | grep -qw shared && ! codesign -v "$1"' {} {} \; -print); PR "Unsigned shared libraries"; for d in {,/}L*/{La,Priv,Sta}* L*/Fonts; do o=$(ls -A "$d"); PR "$d"; done; } 2> /dev/null | pbcopy; echo $'\nStep 1 done'
    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Then click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
    The command may take up to a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. Wait for the line "Step 1 done" to appear below what you entered. The output of the command will be automatically copied to the Clipboard. If the command produced no output, the Clipboard will be empty. Paste into a reply to this message. No typing is involved in this step.
    Step 2
    Remember that you must be logged in as an administrator for this step. Do as in Step 1 with this line:
    PR () { [[ "$o" ]] && printf '\n%s:\n\n%s\n\n' "$1" "$o"; }; { o=$(sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix\.cron)|org\.(amav|apac|calendarse|cups|dove|isc|ntp|post[fg]|x)/{print $3}'); PR "Loaded extrinsic daemons"; o=$(sudo defaults read com.apple.loginwindow LoginHook); PR "Login hook"; o=$(sudo crontab -l); PR "Root cron tasks"; o=$(syslog -k Sender kernel -k Message CReq 'error|GPU |hfs: Ru|I/O e|find tok|n Cause: -|NVDA\(|pagin|timed? ?o' | tail -n25 | awk '/:/{$4=""; print}'); PR "Log check"; } 2> /dev/null | pbcopy; echo $'\nStep 2 done'
    This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Heed that warning, but don't post it. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
    You can then quit Terminal.
    To prevent confusion, I'll repeat: When you type your password in the Terminal window, you won't see what you're typing.
    Note: If you don’t have a login password, set one before taking Step 2. If that’s not possible, skip the step.
    Important: If any personal information, such as your name or email address, appears in the output of these commands, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    Remember, Steps 1 and 2 are all copy-and-paste — type only your password. Also remember to post the output.

  • How an Admin user log into a lock out standard user account?

    I remember that I was able to override the access to the standard account user when the standard user has the screen lock out. This appear to be missing in Lion. Has anyone knows how to do this in Lion? Thanks.

    From my personal experience I can say that at times, four folders (i guess Assets is one of them) somehow get left in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 11 Organizer folder.
    I delete them and restart my system.. and reinstallation works fine. If that's the case with you, you can try it.
    CS Cleaner tool might also help.

    Spicework Team,Wanted to know some thoughts on when an employee leaves the company. We have a employee termination sheet that we go through when someone leaves the company. My question is we recently had somebody from our IT department leave who has been here 14 years, so of course there are many more things added to that termination sheet that need to be addressed. I have been making an entirely different sheet up if they are a member of the IT department. I have gotten just about everything we can think of, but the one question I have is there an easy way to see if an admin account is being used for authentication etc? My issue is we have to change the domain admin account now, and I have been going through some of our servers (SharePoint being one of them) and sorting the services by log on and found a bunch of services that are...

    To prevent guests from using my iMac I frequently "log out" and created a guest account. However when I log out and shut down, my iMac turns on

    Try rebooting into Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. It is possible one (or more) is corrupt. To reboot in Safe Model when you hear the startup tone hold down the Shift Key until you see a progress bar appearing.

  • Help, Out of User accounts?!?!

    After purchasing 3 Ipod (40gig, shuffle, nano) products (all under the same account name) and now on my second computer, I have used up all of my 5 user licenses.
    Recently my PC crashed and needed to be re-built. Now when I try to sync my Ipod to the PC Itunes tells me I am not authorized to play the downloaded songs that I have bought.
    Can I do anything? Please help.

  • Runtime.exec() under a specific user account ???

    Hi there,
    I cann't figure out how to run a script on Unix under a specific user account using the Runtime.exec(). Currently whoever run the java program, the script is ran under that user account.
    The code is like:
    public class javarun {
    public static void main(String[] arg) {
    String str = "myunixscript";
    // check the arg[1] to decide the appropriate environment.
    Runtime r = Runtime.getRuntime();
    try {
    Process pr = r.exec(str);
    pr.waitFor();
    int exitstatus = pr.exitValue();
    } catch (...) {...}
    We have two user accounts: unixusr1 and unixusr2. Now I need to have unixusr1 run the java program ( ie. unixusr1$ java javarun), while the "myunixscript" be executed under unixusr2. One further step is to the unix account name as a parameter so the unixscript could be run under different account.
    Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
    Edward.

    I'm not sure if I have a solution, but here are some questions:
    a) have you tried writing additional input to the OutputStream of the process? Although I have not tried it, I would imagine that Process.getOutputStream() exists for commands that require the invoking resource to send additional input to the process- like an su command that requires a password check.
    b) can you just write a shell script that takes the needed information as an argument. That is, write a shell script that takes the username and password as an argument and then you can use Runtime like,
    Runtime.exec("myScript", new String[] { "hisId", "hisPasswd" });Obviously, you would need to think through the security concerns of such a script, but, if it complies with the security structure of your environment, it might allow you to avoid the problem by using the shell script to invoke the destination command with the proper UID and password, rather then using the JVM to invoke it. Basically, the script becomes a proxy for the JVM to invoke that command.

  • Best way to manage media (photos/music/videos) across user accounts in Lion?

    Yesterday I clean installed Lion. I copied only that what I need from my TimeMachine backup. The apps were reinstalled as well. Now, I've set up iPhoto to link to my library in the Users>shared folder so that its available across all user accounts shared with my family members. Same is the case with iTunes library. But with integration with iCloud and @me.com or @mac.com accounts, I'm not sure how each one of us can have out own accounts configured in these libraries while they are shared. Keeping this in mind, what is the best way to share music, videos and photos across user accounts and yet have the apps... iTunes, iPhoto, etc, know our individual settings in out respective user accounts?
    For iTunes should I just create a referenced library? Will that let me sync my photos and videos to my iPhone 4? If so, how?
    For iPhoto I guess i''ll have to create separate libraries for each user account and then have one common for our shared photos. But thats just plain complicated for users who aren't tech savvy in my family.
    Please advice before I create a mess with my media again!

    Thanks for the idea, but that strategy introduces problems of its own. Now I have two iPods (a 5G and a touch) that sync with one library and an iPhone that syncs with another. This makes my life workable on the road, but at home, it means I have to change iTunes libraries when I sync different devices. It also means that, when I download new content, if I want to take it with me on my MBP, I have to synchronize it between two libraries. That sounds like an ugly situation.

    have somebody has any idea how can i do itWe can't help you much because you are using many other classes.... but there is glaring error which I would like to point to, i.e.:
                 arguments = new ArrayList();
    arguments.remove(id = 1);Just after initializing the ArrayList you are removing the second element, that would surely throw Exception.
    I think instead of arguments.remove(1) you have to use:
    arguments.add(id = 1);
    //OR
    arguments.remove(String.valueOf(id=1));But I can't say, I don't know what 'callUpdateProcedure' expects.
    Thanks!

  • Activation--multiple User Accounts--same PC

    After setting up a second user account on the same Windows 7 PC, I'm being asked by Adobe to activate LR3 for the new user account. It was already activated on the same PC upon installation, before this user account was created in Win7.
    I don't want to have to use up both activations for two users on one PC. I don't understand why all user accounts on one PC shouldn't have access to one program.  Or does re-entering the license key on the same PC not count as a second activation?
    I suspect this is happening because I (perhaps erroneously) installed LR3 on the Administrators' account, instead of on a Standard user account. I really want to use it within standard user accounts. Is the request to activate related to Windows 7 ownership and permissions?
    http://www.blogsdna.com/2159/how-to-take-ownership-grant-permissions-to-access-files-folde r-in-windows-7.htm
    Can I reset ownership and permissions, as discussed in the above link, to fix this?
    It seems one fix would be to uninstall LR3 from the PC and then reinstall it in the user account, but that's kind of a nuisance, and I wonder then if any additional new user accounts that still wanted to use LR3 would be asked to activate again..
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I'm trying to figure out this user account vs. administrator account stuff for the first time and kind of bungling my way through it.

    Thanks, Hal.
    I activated Lightroom under the user account and then tested this theory by setting up a dummy user account to see if Lightroom 3 asked for and rejected a third activation.  It didn't.  It was satisfied with the second activation you suggested.
    I also have Photoshop CS5, and ironically, it did not ask for reactivation under my user or administrator account, but it's possible that I installed PS CS5 under the user account or after the user account was created, and that made the difference.  Dunno.
    I also searched this question on the Photoshop forum and I couldn't find  any discussion of it, but a similar question was answered unofficially  by another user who suggested that Adobe recognizes this situation from  the identical hardware profile of the PC being activated a second time and doesn't  count it as a second activation.
    I gather many people don't bother with user accounts in Vista or Win 7 as long as they're the only user on the PC.  Using a user account, rather than the administrator account for everyday use, is still recommended by Microsoft to protect the system files from malware. But it's a little confusing and awkward to set them up for users like me who are new to them.

  • License Adobe before or after settingup user accounts?

    Aloha all!
    I've just purchased 25 device licenses for CC.  They are going to be used in, you guessed it, as 25 seat lab (Macs).  However, each machine has multiple user accounts.  Will it be less of a headache if I license adobe on an administrative account before setting up the other user accounts, or am I going to end up having to license it for each account regardless?
    In the event I have to license it for each account, could I shortcut the process by doing that on one machine, then using Migration Assistant to copy the accounts to other machines?
    I expect that I'll have to physically sit at each machine in turn, logging into and out of user accounts, and authorizing each time.  And I further expect that Adobe will force me to do this several times a year.  Boy, would I be thrilled to be wrong!

    You cannot use the migration assistant due to the specifics of the activation system. For the rest you may want to have a look at the Enterprise Deployment Guides and CC for Teams help files... The licensing is per user, not per machine, so all that matters is the Adobe ID provided on sign in regardless of who the actual user is as a real person.

Boy, would I be thrilled to be wrong!
    mahalo!

  • DPM Agent - attaching agent user account question

    Hi there,
    I have a question concerning the attachment of User Agents.
    During the wizard you get asked to fill in a user account which is domain user and local admin. I am working in a big organization and we use service accounts as much as we can. I found out the user account I am to use has insufficient rights, I have
    found out my own AD user account works for the attachment. It is alot of work to have another department in the organisation change the rights of the service account(s).
    I was wondering what purpose does the account you fill in serve. I have seen that the service runs under local system and I can't really find any information about what the user account actually does(right at that moment or later on, doesn't matter).
    I am asking this since I could use my own AD account if its just for authorization during the attachment but not if the account I fill in gets used in a later sitatuation.
    Can anyone clear this up for me?

    Hi,
    The User Account is only used for Installing and attaching the Agent on the remote Server/Client, so best will be to use a Domain Admin user.
    The Agent willalways run unter System Account, so no Special Service Account will be needed.
