Random apps actually showing-up on my iPhone 4 without any permission whatsoever.

I recently replaced my iPhone 4, and didn't know about this section of Apple's website until now.
Before I replaced my iPhone, I started noticing random apps like a talking cat, police sirens, air-horns, supermodel dress-ups, and many other apps like that which I would NEVER AUTHORIZE.
The only way they might be accidentally downloaded is if I kept hitting the advertisement bar at the bottom of the TextNow app, but I can't imagine a reason why it could railroad my authority.
I simply deleted them and ransacked the settings on the iPhone, but the intrusive apps still showed-up and gave me the innate feeling that someone may be rummaging through my stuff and waiting for my next online purchase. I'm not currently experiencing this on my new iPhone, but I still would like to hear your advice in case it starts again.
What program does this, and how do I kill, strip, or otherwies remove it?

Sounds to me like someone has your apple id password and is using it to purchase apps. If you are in the US and have the settings right, iCould beta would automatically download to your phone if purchased from another device. Do you have a child who knows your password? It sounds to me like those apps you mentioned are aimed at a younger market. (Althought I do like Talking Tom myself)

If you are syncing your contacts from your PC with iCloud, they are not transferred to your phone using iTunes. They are synced to your phone using iCloud, either over wifi or your cellular data network.
First go to icloud.com with your computer browser, sign into your account and open Contacts there to confirm that your contacts appear. If they do, go to Settings>iCloud on your phone, sign into your account and turn Contact on. Assuming your phone is either connected to wifi or your cellular data network, the contacts should then download from iCloud to your phone.

Sorry no, Facebook has taken the older version out of the App Store.

When I downloaded new photos, they showed up as grayed out areas, without any photo there, just the gray spaces shown where a photo should be.

I downloaded a bunch of photos, but instead of them showing in each space, they were all grayed out, NO photos were shown, just blank gray spaces,where each photo should be, this has just started to happen the last month or so.

I've had good results with iPhone Data Recovery - able to recover about 94% of files from undamaged disks with trashed files.
It's $49 but much less than you'd pay for a data recovery service...
But maybe this will be a good lesson to you to ALWAYS maintain one or more backup schemes.

I am using two keithley 6487 through labview to scan the voltage for an
ion beam deflector. recently one of them started showing cmpl on the
front panel ocomp also flashes. all the probes i opened and run it
through frontpanel. still the problem persists. tried to update the
firmware and it failed to complete updating .
can any one give any clue why this happens. the interlock connector is proper.

Hi ranjini,
If your device failed during a firmware update, it probably is not in a operable state. I recommend contacting the manufacture to see if they have methods of recovering from a failed firmware update.
Did you receive an error when the upgrade failed?

Purchased DevonThink To Go 07/31/12.
Since then had to reset iphone & reinstall Mountain Lion.
Now app not showing up in om Iphone as purchased. Others are but NOT Devonthink To Go.
Have done what was suggested but no luck.
Have the email receipt of purchase but no links to DL.

If they were purchased using a different Apple ID than the one your phone is signed in to in Settings>iTunes & App Stores they won't appear until you sign into the other ID. They also won't appear if they are no longer available in the app store.

Id like an app that shows what time your iphone was locked, so you know if anyone has looked at your phone while you've left it, say on a desk at work?

If your location on the map is off press the MENU button (lower left corner of your phone). Then when the next screen appears Touch "my location" and it will move the your blue colored location ICON to your current location.
Also, you can touch the tower ICON to see the tower's SSID, SID, and Received signal strength. WIKI has good definitions for these acronyms. If you go to CELLS (top of screen) you can also see the RSSI and the overview shows the signal strength in %.

How do I synch my podcasts directly from my MacBook with iPhone/iPad (without iCloud)?

I am using an MacBook with iTunes 11.2.2. (3) and an iPhone/iPad with the most recent iOS 7.1.2.
What annoys me is the coud symbole on my iPhone/iPad when I want to listen to my Podcasts. Is there any way to have a direct synchronization of podcasts from my MacBook to my iPhone/iPad? In a nutshell: why do I have to download the same content twice?
Unfortunately, I am sometimes in remote areas without internet/mobile phone coverage. Thus, I would simply get all stuff from my MacBook on my iPhone/iPad without any (unnecessary) detour via the cloud just as in the back old days, when you had to use iTunes for any data transfer to you iPod.

Welcome to the Support Communities! If I'm understanding your question correctly, you want to be able to sync Podcasts directly from your Macbook with your iPhone/iPad. You can still do that via the iTunes software on your Mac and the Podcasts app for your device:

Open iTunes and then click the iTunes menu.
Choose Preferences and then click the Store tab.
Place a checkmark next to "Sync podcast subscriptions and settings."
Details on syncing
Enabling syncing for podcasts syncs subscriptions, stations, and play position. Here are the details on everything that syncs.Subscriptions
Subscribing
Syncing podcast subscriptions will download the newest episode for each podcast you are subscribed to (but not previous episodes for that podcast). If you choose to download other episodes for a subscription on one device, they won't automatically download to your other devices. See the transferring section below for more information.
Unsubscribing
If you unsubscribe from a podcast on one device, all of your other devices will unsubscribe to that podcast. If you re-enable a subscription to a podcast, all of your other devices will subscribe to that podcast again.
Deleting
When you delete a subscription on a device you'll also automatically be unsubscribed to it on all of your devices. If you delete a podcast on your iOS device, iTunes on your computer will show the message "This podcast has been deleted from another device, but has saved episodes."

From iTunes pull-down menu select Preferences

Transferring episodes and playlists

You can't. Because the iPhone 5 is actually a phone as it's name implies you will need a sim card in it to be able to activate it.
You can't activate a phone without a sim card.
