Random é appears when printing

I have Illustrator 10 and after saving to a PDF and printing from Acrobat, a random 'é' appears at the start of every text line. This is not visible in any view on the computer at all, and I have wasted a lot of time trying to remove it. Please, if anyone has any ideas of how to remove the é from the printed document, your advice would be greatly appreciated. I need to figure this out asap.
Thanks.

Just for clarification...
You don't really mean
random, do you?
It appears
only at the start of each line, and it happens with
every line, right? That would make it anything
but random.
Does this happen with all fonts or only with one or a few?
What happens when you print the document directly out of Illustrator on the same printer?

  • How to change annotation's appearance  when printing the annotation under Adobe Reader?

I'm developping a plugin under SDK 7.0 for Adobe Reader  . I have two problems.
1)I will change annotation's appearance  when printing the annotation. How to do under Adobe Reader?
Uunder Adobe Arobat,I use PDRegisterAnnotHandler to register GetPrintAppearance, but PDRegisterAnnotHandler does not work under Adobe Reader.
2)Under Adobe Reader ,app.execMenuItem doesnt work. How to execute menuItem using JavaScript under Adobe Reader?
Please Help, had better give me sample, thank.

app.execMenuItem most certainly does work with Reader - what problems are you running into trying to use it?
As for developing Reader plug-ins - yes, some of the SDK methods aren't available to Reader.  If you want to change the appearance of an annotation in Reader, you would need to acquire the Cos object of that annotation and modify its appearance dictionary manually.

  • Watermak draft doesn't appear when printing

    Hi everybody,
i'm facing a printing issue with watermark draft, there is my problem: i have made a PO (production order) and i would like to print with the watermak draft on it. When i click on Print Preview i can see it (the watermark) but when i print it nothing appear.
I read the note 1017088 but it's for business one, my configuration is the following one : SAP NetWeaver ECC6 7.0 SP12
Can you please help me on this ?
    Thanks eveybody

I had a similar issue where a print was coming out fine when we used from-end or did a display but when printed out of SAP the format was not right. SAP recommended us to use a different device type rather the th one provided by the vendor.
So I will recommend try changing the device type and see if that might fix the issue.

  • How to make a button on a form that will not appear when printed?

    Hello again!
I have a rather strange request that I got recently from my employeer regarding a form that we are currently working on:
We have a form with a Acrobat created button on it that links to an attachment.  She does not want the button to appear when the document is printed.
    Is this even possible??
    Thanks in advance!
    Best Regards,
    Ashley

You can set the form field to be "Visible but doesn't print" rather than "Visible". This is far easier than the scripting solution.

  • Text box should not appear when printed

Need to create a 4-line text box/form field/comment to give users instructions, but box should not be visible when printed.  A form/text field can be set-up to be visible but not printed, however, it will not allow multiple lines of text in it.
    Any suggestions?

You made my day, week, etc.!
I assumed that feature was to allow users only to enter multiple lines.

  • "transparent" bounding boxes appear when printing from InDesign and Acrobat

Hi. I have encountered a problem with both CS4 and CS5 InDesign and Acrobat 9.0. Mac OS 10.5.8. When I print (artwork flattened before I create PDF with standard "Press Quality" from InDesign or Adobe Illustrator default from Illustrator) lighter areas that are rectangular shaped will appear on the color print. We use a rip and this appears to happen randomly. I have spent considerable time troubleshooting this...I have used every work around I can think of—to no avail.
    1. What is this?
    2. Why is this happening?
    3. Is there technical information out there to help me get rid of it?
    Thanks so much!

Solid areas of lighter color. I am not sure if our rip can handle live transparency. It is a Fiery 8e Release 2. I tried a solution from a previous post that suggested de-selecting the Pantone match option when I print and that did work.
The PDF's are high res. It has even happened on some PDF's that were created through Distiller as high res. I have seen this at the print shop I work at and also at the college where I teach design.
Thanks so much for your quick response.

  • MacOSX (10.9): Print dialogue box does not appear when printing PDF's

    Hi there,
I've been having some troubles with the latest version of Adobe Reader on an intel-based MacBook Pro running MacOSX 10.9 (Mavericks).
    Environment Details:
    Device type: MacBook Pro
    OSX: 10.9 (Mavericks)
    Adobe Reader version: 11.0.06
    Details:
After installing Reader 11.0.06, the print dialogue box does not appear through the print button or through File -> Print... . As a result, I simply cannot print PDF documents when using Adobe Reader.
    - Only 1 MacBook Pro affected
    - The print dialogue box does appear for other application (i.e. Preview, Word, Excel, etc., etc.)
    - Multiple restarts performed
    - Attempted to download older versions with no success
    - Attempted multiple uninstall/reinstalls
    - Reset the CUPS printing system multiple times
    - Validated that the account accessing/using Reader has full administrative privileges to the Adobe Reader application
    - Occurs for multiple PDF's from various sources
      -> Online source
      -> Converted from Word
Additionally (I'm unsure if this is related or not), but after trying to perform an update, I receive the following error:
An unimplemented or obsolete function was called
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers!

  • Strange noise appears when printing

I am running into some issues when trying to print a post card I designed for a client. I created the card in photoshop cs5 with a resolution of 300. After creating it as a psd I exported it as a pdf and then printed it through acroabt x on a xerox 700 digital press using creo rip software. The print looks ok-ish until I look at it under loop. Through the loop I can see alot of digital noise around the text. I printed it again directly from photoshop and removed a background image that was behind the text and that cleaned up some of the noise. Although the text still a little noise. Can any one think of why that might be?

    thanks guys,
Peter, I'll try your suggestions. As you see, everything looks fine on screen with the PDF. These little 'boxes' appear only when I print.
"Also, make sure your transparency blend space matches your backgrounds." How do I do that?
Ken, as you may remember from my previous posts, I'm new at this so forgive my lack of knowledge. Does 'banding in the gradient' mean you are seeing horizontal lines down the image? I don't get these on my prints but the text box holding the "Cello/Celli! A Celebration of the Cello" prints with the background of the box visible against the gradient behind it. I also get a similar effects below the blue box holding the 'time & place' info. both of these elements have a drop shadow applied.
BTW, my PDF does show faint lines oulining the 'CC' logo text boxes. These don't seem to print but I want to be sure. The logo was created by grouping two text boxes and applying a transarency to them. Hey, now that I look at my print problem it seems as if these 'logo' text boxes might also be having 'compatibility' issues with the backgroung gradient?
I don't know nutin. Thanks for the help!

  • "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" box appears when printer cable inserted into USB connection.

When I plugged my printer cable into my MacBook today I received a message "the disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" with options to Ignore or Eject. The printer worked fine yesterday but does not respond today. Additionally there is abox titled "All Messages" appearing on my screen which is producing new messages every minute or so the most common of which is disk1: I/O error and disk1:alignment error, SAM Multimedia: Read or Write failed.
I tried unsuccessfully yeseterday to install a scanner on this MacBook.Everything seemed to progress normally during the install but the Scanner did not show in my applications after my attempt to install.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you in advance

I uninstalled and reinstalled my printer and everything seems to work fine now.

  • Buttons appear when printing

I am designing a fillable PDF form in Form Designer 7.0. When the form first comes up, I have some fields the user fills in and then they hit a "submit" button which hides all the buttons and gives them a read only PDF for printing purposes. So the user now has a PDF form with no buttons on it. When they print the form, the buttons appear on the print out. I really don't understand this because the view of the form on the computer shows no buttons, nor are the button displayed in the print preview.
The buttons presence property is set to "invisible".
    Thanks,
    Dan

I have used the "Visible(but Don't Print)" option.
The result of selecting this option appears to automatically set the -print relevant attribute.
The result is that the buttons print without the text.
Is there a way to make the buttons completely absent from the print?
I have a vague recollection of seeing a comment to this affect in another discussion thread, but I'm having trouble finding it.
If anyone knows the answer me and my colleagues will be happy.
    Thanks.

  • One field is visible in print preview but does not appear when printed

    Hi,
We have a batch job that creates the spool, but one field of the form is visible during print preview of the spool but is NOT visible in the print out.
    How do we solve this?
Is there an error in the printer?
    Thank you!
    Rgds,
    Freishz

    Hi guys,
The catch is, when re-printed, it already appears. But after the batch job has been completed, this does not automatically appear.
This involves, output type of a delivery.
    Thanks for your reply!

  • How to make tiny squares not appear when printing?

I have Adobe Pro X and I am having issues with printing. When I print a pdf document, sometimes the text is replaced by squares.  I have determined that this is caused by certain font.  I know for a fact that the pre set font used in "add text box" is one of those fonts.  I have read that you can embed fonts and that will solve the problem of the squares.
This image is of a sample of the issue. I have to take product documentation for manufacturers and provide these to clients for approval.  So, this issue is not directed at just one manufacturer provided pdf. The squares also appear in the text box at the top.
    Questions:
    1.  How do you change the pre set font in the "add text box"?
    2.  How do you determine the font of a pdf document?
    3.  What is the step by step process to embedd a particular font?

When you use the "Add text box" (also known as the Typewriter tool), you're actually placing an  annotation on the PDF. You can see this if you open the Comments pane and view the Comments List. You can change the font for the annotation by using the Selection tool and then double-clicking on the text. This will bring up the Typewriter tool properties where you can see what font is being used and change it if necessary. In your case, you don't need to embed the font because you're working within an annotation. What you'll need to do instead is to flatten the annotation so that it becomes part of the page content and no longer editable as an annotation. To flatten an annotation you can use the Preflight tool (which is only part of Acrobat Pro. When you open the Preflight tool, twirl open the PDF fixups arrow and select "Flatten annotation and form fields".

  • Print Dialog box wont appear when "Print Pages" from Bookmarks Window

When I use the "print pages" option from the Bookmarks window the pages are sent directly to the default printer with the default settings. How do I get the print dialog window to appear if I select "print pages" from the Bookmarks window so that I may modify the print settings?

I wasn't aware that you could get the print dialog box to appear after dragging a supported file to the alias, regardless of where it resided. I've never seen this happen on 10.4.x or 10.3.9 so I tested the Option key and found it didn't force the dialog box to appear either. Tried a few others keys also but no luck in getting the box to appear.
