Random Files

Hello all,
I have been going through my MacBook Pro and deleting stuff I really don't need and I went into documents and found
over 1000 random files lurking in their. I'm not sure how it got there and why it's there.
I clicked on one of the files and it went into Safari and displayed this:Anyway, when I read what was in the address bar, I noticed that this was coming from the program I have called 'Manga Studio 5'. The questions I have here are:
1) Is there is any way to delete these files without having to select 6 at a time?
2) Is there a reason as to why they are there? (MAYBE a question for anyone who has used Manga Studio before)
3) Is there any way to stop this from happening with future usage or will it continue doing this?
4) If I can't stop this from happening within the program, is there a way to stop it with the Mac?
This is becoming a bit of a problem for me as my MacBook is becoming slower than before. I purchased this MacBook in late April this year and so far, so good. I haven't experienced this problem from other applications that would have needed to download, so I'm guessing something's up with this one.
Thank you in advance

Can't you select all of them at the same time and then move to trash all at once?
If you get out of the thumbnail view and go into list view you can select all of them.
What they are seems to be catalogs of your work created by the program. why there are som many I have no idea as I don't use that program.
You might want to post this question over in the programs user forums. Also check for updates to the program.

  • My Photoshop CS6 keeps crashing on random file formats...How do I find the cause within the crash report?

One of our users is experiencing crashes when opening random files. They range from regular Photoshop to JPEG files. The same errors is occasionally happening with Illustrator but it is predominate on Photoshop. The following are two crash reports that appeared after the crashes. How would I troubleshoot and figure out the cause by reading these reports?

I know i have a G5 in my profile but as i said in my first post of this thread im using my macbookpro dual 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM so the apogee has nothing to do with this computer.
I ran rember last night and i woke up after 12 hours and it was still running.
I put loops onto maximum and RAM allocation to maximum to get full testing.
Any ideas on why its taking this long or is it normal?
    Cheers, Benji

  • How to get random file name?

Hi everyone,my problem is that I want to get the random file ,namely,I create a new file called "test***.jpg" everytime, how can I get it?how can I use wild character? Thanks in advanece.

    Can I use wild
character to achieve my goal?I don't understand what you mean by 'wild character'! If you mean the '*' char then what ould this do for you? When applicable, it is used for selecting a group of files, not generating a file!
Generate a random number (using java.util.Random?) between 0 and 999 and then format it to 3 decimal places. Something along the lines of
                Random random = new Random();
                int v = random.nextInt(1000);
                String sv = "000" + Integer.toString(v);
                File tempFile = new File("test" + sv.substring(sv.length()-3) +".jpg");
                tempFile.deleteOnExit();

    Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
So what are they? If you select one of those and invoke the Finder menu option File > Get Info, what value do you see for "Kind"?

  • Random file name for xml output

    Hi:
You know how when you're in design mode and select PDF preview, then click an email submit XML data button it assigns a random number as the XML file name? How can I set that same thing up when a user clicks the submit button from the web site? The default it assigns is the name of the pdf form.
    Many thanks for any suggestions,
    Ginger

    Virginia,
The email submit button can only do what you described in your message.
    - The random file name generated in PDF preview is because you are in the design mode (not everyone has the working xpd file saved when he/she does a PDF preview. This results in a random file _x3432gd4343.xml is generated. It could have been called untitle1.xml if the product developers decide to do so).
    - When you open a PDF file (which has a name) in acrobat, the PDF filename is being used for the email attachment.

  • Picking up Random files with ODI

I have a directory into which an application dumps random files, The file might be randomly named but they have the same format. I need to be able to read the file and check if its the same schema, if so then load it into a common table...
How do i go about doing this?
I have created a file schema and manually reverse engineered one file in teh directory and had it as a part fo the interface to load it into my target
My problem is however when we have might have different file names for the same file, eg:
    FlatFile.dat
    FlatFile 10-12-08.dat
    FlatFile 11-12-08.dat
How do i pick up all the newly generated files automatically as a part of the ETL process and load?

That is not a problem too... hehheehhe
Put a ODI variable at your resource name BUT, in this case you will need to "know" the name to set the variable.
    I usually do that like:
    1) Create a procedure
    2) at first step buid an OS command that generate a file with the name of all files that you need, at windows will be something like:
    cmd.exe /c dir c:/temp/sample_dir /b /a:-d > c:/temp/sample_dir/file_list.txt
Now you have a fixed named file that contains all file name
    4) Using the Logical Schema to this directory, create a datastore (model table, I will call it, file_of_files! hehehe) what points to the "file of files" with just one column (col_file_name as example)
    5) create a new step at the procedure where, at source tab, File Technology and the correct Logical Schema write:
    select col_file_name from file_of_file
    6) At target tab, using Sunopsis API technology call a package scenario.
    To create this package do:
6.a) Drag and drop the variable you're using at resource name and set it as "Declare"
6.b) Drag and drop the interface that use the dynamic file as source.
    6.c) generate the scenario
the command at target will be something like:
    OdiStartScen "-SCEN_NAME=abc" "-SCEN_VERSION=001" "-LOG_LEVEL=5" "-ODI_VARIABLE_NAME=#col_file_name"
In this way you can have your source dynamically!!!
Does it make sense to you? (and help??)

  • Random files appearing in file system

I have random files appearing in my webroot.  I am not sure if it is caused by dreamweaver cs3 or something else.  I keep deleting them but they reappear.  They are named random characters without any extension.  Here is a screenshot.
    imgur: the simple image sharer

Dreamweaver isn't doing it. When you open one in notepad, what do you see?

  • Random files in timeline suddenly showing up as red "placeholder" graphic

Everything was fine in the timeline until one time I reopened a project I had been working on and random
files are seen as that red placeholder graphic. If I right click on those files in the timeline I can "reveal in project" but
"link media" is greyed out when I try to reassociate those files.
All the files on in the same project folder on the same drive.  I'm using CS3 with the latest patch.
Is this some kind of bug in Premiere?

I haven't had any Windows' Delayed Write errors or any error messages. In the Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Event Manager>System I checked for warnings related to the F:\ drive but only saw the occasional C:\ hard drive warning.
I never installed any drivers for the drives.
The bizarre thing is that I can move the "placeholder" files to a higher or lower track and it will show right up but after I save the project and reopen it the problem is back. Same thing with unabling then enabling "placeholder" files...the files immediately show back up but saving doesn't make the project open back up without the placeholders. All other changes can be saved, however.
Since this project file is a 2 minute portion of an 18 minute movie I'm working on(post-production effects) I'll work on another
project file containing other aspects of the movie for the time being(as long as that project file doesn't end up having this same problem).
Ultimately, I have to believe that transfering the entire 500GB worth of project files, etc... to the C:\ Drive of a new workstation(in a couple months)
    will solve everything.

  • SCEP - Stuck on random files during scan

    Hello,
I am getting stuck on figuring out why SCEP is stopping on random files on a few computers. At the moment it is only a few because that is what has been brought to me. In the case of the current system it stopped once on some temp files, so we removed them
and restarted the scan and now it is stuck on a different file:
Wondering if anyone has some thoughts.

    Hi,
Could you scan only the stuck file? (Right click the file, click "Scan with System Center Endpoint Protection..."

  • Modified Files on FCPX... Random files in event folder(that I used to make a multicam clip) become modified and unusable. Is there anything i can do to prevent this?

Since I upgraded to Mavericks, every time I create a multicam clip on FCPX, random files(that were used to make the multicam clip) become modified and unusable(in High Quality). Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
I've tried transcoding, creating proxy media, creating optimized media, plus I've tried none of the above. Thing is, no matter what I do, it still happens(to random files) "after" I make the multicam clip. Is there a setting or something that was accidentally enabled by me or the upgrade?
BTW: Everything seems to work fine when 'playback' is set to proxy. The problem is when I'm ready to export and switch 'playback' to High Quality.

I had this same issue! But fixed it by going into the finder, finding the event, and delted the files out of the "High Quality Media." My project then refreshed to normal and no red modified file slides. The cool part: I din't even shut fcpx down to mess with the files in the finder. It all worked like a charm.
    Good luck!

Try to save what?  The entire email message?  Somthing that is embedded in the email message?
Anyway, why would you use Safari to access your email instead of Apple's Mail application?

  • Loosing random files

My itunes seems to loose tunes. But if I search for the file the finder, it will find the file. If I click in the finder it will then appear under the lost file in itunes and play! Any idea what's going on?

    Hi,
Not sure what's causing the loss of random files, but there's information at this link for recreating your iTunes library if necessary.

  • Open Random File in Random Folder

I am trying to make an Applescript to pick a song at random, being dependent on how many files are in a folder. To simplify my example: I have 2 folders labeled "Rock" and "Country", Rock includes 99 songs and Country has 1. If I write the following script:
to application finder to open some file in some folder "harddrive:user:me:music"
Using this, there is a 50% chance that 1 country song will play, because the script is choosing between "Rock" or "Country" THEN the files inside. Is there any way that I can re-write the script so that it accounts for the number of files inside the folder?
I only have a beginners level of writing script, so if you can dumb any complicated answers down for me that would be great
Eventually I want to expand this for more than two folders, but I'm sure if I get 2 down I can extrapolate to more!

Whoops, sorry: didn't notice that it returned a list of lists which need to be concatenated.  This version works correctly:
    set musicFiles to {}
    tell application "System Events"
set musicFolders to every file of (every folder of folder "/Users/tedwrigley/Test area") whose visible is true
              repeat with thisItem in musicFolders
set musicFiles to musicFiles & thisItem
              end repeat
    end tell
set theChosenFile to some item of musicFiles

  • Newbie, Help! iTunes won't play or import random files - no error message

Have a large library of MP3 files created with Real Audio. All played well in Real Audio or Windows Player. I did a complete unintall of Real Audio, installed ITunes, and while it accepts some of the songs(files), it doesn't accept others. It seems utterly random. There are no differences between the files. All are legit. I do not get an error message, but NOTHING happens no matter what method I employ to play or import the song/file. Have compared file attributes via properties and there is no difference. Itunes is the default player, and I have not reinstalled Real Audio. I just listen to the songs on computer while working, but thought I would try Itunes and get an IPod. Not off to a very good start.

I suppose Real Audio was used, though for sometime I used Iomega to store them on zip disks. It has been a long time. For the CD's that I have on hand, I have been doing what you suggested. This is not easy, as the old files were just all together in one file, and while I thought I had changed settings so that iTunes would do the same (after learning that iTunes puts things in lots of different folders - especially confusing for me with soundtracks with different artists)the last one I did was put in folders entitled unknown/unknown with only track numbers. And if I change anything using explorer, I have to find each file for iTunes again. I'm still struggling, not understanding how these mp3 files are different in some way. Some are from the same CD's. At any rate, now that I am (found your term) ripping these CD's again, is there a way to avoid all the folders and layers of folders? Thank you for your patience. Obviously when my daughters were here to help, me being green was not a problem@
