Random Green Wallpaper Screen Appeared While Surfing the Net

So I was reading some news articles on chrome when all of a sudden my desktop wallpaper went a bright green color and all the desktop icons became hidden as well as the other windows I had open from other programs. At first I was *** and instantly went to open a folder to make sure everything I had saved to my desktop still existed. Next, I went googling my problem and after having no luck started shutting down programs. After shutting down vlc my desktop returned to normal and the random green wallpaper disappeared. Not quite sure what happened or what caused it to happen. Wondering if I should be concerned about anything internally on my Imac.

True that adding more RAM gives better performance in OS X.
If you watch the memory usage, either via Apple Activity Monitor (in the Applications Utilities folder) or other utility, you can see how much of your RAM is being used.
The free utility MemoryStick gives a quick summary of total RAM in use, and number of virtual memory swap files. <http://www.tidbits.com/matt/?@@>
I found that when I added more RAM, the number of VM swap files went down, and the waiting or slow responding of some of my applications (when I had many apps open simultaneously) went away.
Though I do not know if there will be much fan behavior changing.
You may want to try some of the reset processes - Resetting the PRAM, PMU (Power Management Unit) or SMU (System Management Unit).

I know the newer 2005 iMacs do a power/system reset by having the power cord unplugged from the back of the iMac, and leave off for 15 seconds, then replug into back. (not from wall, but from back of iMac itself). Not sure if that applies to your 2004 iMac G5 1.6GHz, but it is simple enough to give that a try, along with the usual reset of PRAM and possibly reset of NVRAM.
Looks like the 2004 iMac G5 reset their power with an internal button push. So best to try the PRAM resetting first>> press Command-Option-P-R keys when you start up, just after you hear the statup chime.
Continue to hold those keys until you get two more restarts, and hear two more chimes, then release.
If that doesn't seem to bring the fan revs down, you may need to do the internal PMU/SMU reset. Instructions here <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301283>, step 11. But this involves taking the back cover off, so is a bit more involved.

I am learning the workflow. I have created a test workflow in which there is a user decision step and 2 mail sending steps for the outcomes of the user decision.The workflow is activated properly . When I excute the workflow the screen for "Workflow Template Create" opens everytime. When I go to the Business workpkace a mail is there in my inbox with the title as given in the user decision step. Again when i am trying to execute the work item in the inbox again the same screen for "Workflow Template create " is opening. I am totaly confused with this problem . Pls suggest what might be the reason..?

I think the Wflow Template Creation screen is not opening but your current session is getting closed so the previous session which is Wflow Create one which you have already opened is appearing. Please check your template design and act accordingly.

Fans going nuts while surfing the net??!??

I was just sitting browsing Chelseafc.com via Camino, listening to some music via iTunes, and brought up the Dashboard to check the miniCPU temperature widget and my fans just whirred into action.
When I ran X Resource is showed the CPU fan up at 4775 which seems too high for my liking.
If I installed more RAM in my iMac, would the pressure of running three programs at once stop the fans kicking since I'd be in effect taking some stress off the CPU?
However, even with iTunes open but minimised and not playing, and just the Chelsea website left idle on screen, the CPU fans hit 4700 no problem. Could the amount of animations, scrolling advertisments, etc be making the CPU work harder? The second I close the Chelsea website, the fans slow down and the fan noise disappears.
Or, maybe it's a Liverpool fan and upset at todays result! lol.
PS: no harm meant to any Liverpool fans out there.

TS3274 I have iPad 1 and while surfing the web, checking facebook the scene blacks out then goes to the home screen. Why?

While surfing the web, checking Facebook my screen goes black and the home screen comes up. What is the problem?

The apps are crashing for some reason - maybe an app conflict, a corrupt setting, low memory ....
try a few basic things and see if they help.
Quit all apps completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Keep swiping in the task bar to get to all of the apps. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or try this .... Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This may help as well. Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Try again.

I'm taking the computer to assistance as suggested. Even tho I'm almost 100% sure that this isn't a hardware issue.
Here is why I'm not wasting my time on my affirmative. I'm computer science bacharelor, I know about computer architeture and S.O architeture and also I'm computer developer for more than 10 years now. All behaviors presented have no connection with hardware problems. What I'm trying to say is that I'm not just saying things for saying, I have a logic behind what I say.
For a short example, whenever mouse right click stops working on a specific window/software, if I click on the window top border and drag it around and go back to the window content, the click works again.
Also, my keyboard and mouse work via usb. Usb is working normally. If I plug a usb memory stick it shows that usb is working as it should be.
On windows, right button click is also not working inside any software window, but if I click on start button, icons on desktop, anything on windows epxlorer, it works as it should be. Isnt't there bootcamp underneath windows ?
on top of it, it's a brand new mac, i have it for 5 months.
All these people that have the same problem, do u think all of them have hardware issues? Do you think Apple would keep releasing new computers with hardware problems and they wont have any information/recall for them? and worst, the problems start in a random date ?
This is my first mac and all these problems, being hardware or not, makes me lose all confidence on Apple products.

How can I watch a movie while surfing the web?

I've been trying to figure out if there is any way to anchor the iTunes player so I can watch a movie while surfing the web. I've had no luck, Please tell me there is a way! =)

There are two ways I do this.
1. I set the playback in preferences to play the video in a seperate wind. Then I size the browser window so I can see both at the same time.
2. My prefered method is to play the movie on my extra monitor I use. That way I can run it full screen while working with a full screen browser.

Trouble with incoming calls while surfing the web using EDGE....

I'm aware that while I'm using EDGE to surf the net on my phone, that my calls may go to voicemail. This is fine, but when someone calls me while I'm using EDGE to surf the net, they don't even get a ring tone, or anything to let them know that the call is coming through to my phone. I've tried this myself, and all I get is 30-45 seconds of dead air, then a click that sounds like the call has been disconnected, and THEN my voicemail picks up.
I'm concerned that the caller will think that there's a problem with my phone, instead of waiting the time it takes for the voicemail to pick up. Is there some sort of setting on my phone that I can change that will let the caller hear the rings so they know that the call is actually going through, or is this just a random glitch with my phone or the network?
I'm guessing it's not something that can be changed, but I've got my fingers crossed. Thanks in advance!

There is a couple things you can try on your iPhone. Beyond this you may wish to call AT&T and see if there is a setting they can look at regarding this dead error. Maybe there is a time of dead silence vs sending right to voicemail.
Sometimes you can set a Music tone to be heard instead. But if this is used for business it would not be very professional.
1. Settings- Toggle Airplane Mode ON for 1 min. Then turn off.
2. Retest voicemail call to your phone
3. Reboot iPhone, Hold Home Button down with the Sleep/Wake Button till you see the apple logo. Then let go. Now test your voicemail.
4. Reset Network Settings, Settings-General-Reset- Reset Network Settings- Confirm, Test voicemail.
As a last test before calling AT&T trying performing a basic call to your phone at different times of the day. See if this occurs more in the morning, afternoon, evening. Etc. Might be able to narrow it down to Busy traffic.
Last resort again. Call AT&T have them check some settings on their end. And see if there is any small change they can do so they hear at least 1 ring tone before it hitting mail box.

That's caused by the "Smart zoom" feature of the magic mouse. It's a Double tap with one finger to zoom and repeat to unzoom.
You can turn the feature off if desired in System Preferences > Mouse > Point & Click tab

The quick answer is, hook up the tv to the computer, close the lid, then wake the computer up by clicking the mouse while the lid is closed. Not sure if it'll work while running windows, but I'd bet it does if you have the mac drivers installed on the win os.

Yes, yes, yes... I've gone through all the common sense trouble shoots. Would't be here asking questions if that answers existed on the net. Turning the brightness up as much as possible will help a little. However, as Skydiver notes, screens like those used in tablets and cell phones don't work well in bright sun. That's why I have a Kindle for reading outside. Not to mention, I'd feel a lot less awful if I got sand in a $100 ereader than if I got it in my $700 iPad.

Nokia 770: Can't Surf The Net In Hotels

When trying to connect my Nokia 770 Internet Tablet while in hotels, I find that my success is hit and miss. But I can use a laptop and connect. The difference is the browser on the laptop defaults to a web page from the ISP where I have to agree to some terms before being allowed to surf the net. Well, both really. Sometimes I can open the browser and surf for a while fine, then it hangs. Other times it hangs as soon as I open the browser. I've also noticed that the iTunes visualizer hangs unless it is in full screen mode. It never used to do that. In fact, I used to have trouble getting a full screen visualizer, now it's all I can do. Windows is updated. I suppose I could try sound and video card updates.

Please help me in solving the following error.
I am trying to do project vaibility analysis through pre investment analysis in appropriation request, interm I'm trying to calculate the IRR for the project.
I have created the appropriation request and given all the data in that including the planed values for the project.
In Variants tab of appropriation request, preinv. analysis sub tab, i have clicked the button Calculate preinvestment analysis figures , ( I hvae not mentioned any values in that screen, its picking the plan cost from the planed values of the appropriation request) there I'm getting an error saying

The yield curve for determining the net present value is not completely maintained. Possible causes are:
1. Evaluation type IM01 does not exist (table ATSYC).
2. Yield curve types 9990 (bid) and 9991 (ask) have not been created (table JBD14) for the currency of the controlling area of the appropriation request.
3. Reference interest rates have not been created for the yield curves (tables T056R and JBD15).
4. Interest rates are not maintained for the complete planning time period for the reference interest rates.
5. Under certain circumstances, the standard exchange rate types 'G' and 'B' may be inconsistent.
Procedure
Check your Customizing settings:
1. SAP supplies the evaluation types.
Remember, SAP supplies the evaluation types in client 000. You have to copy them into your working clients. If you do not have them in your system, you can create them in Customizing for the Treasury component (Treasury Management -> Market Risk Management -> Evaluations -> Define Default Settings). Create evaluation type IM01 with bid yield curve type 9990 and ask yield curve type 9991.
2. In Customizing for appropriation requests (under Planning), create a bid yield curve type 9990 and an ask yield curve type for the currency of the controlling area of the appropriation request.
3. Create at least one reference interest rate for each yield curve.
4. Maintain the reference rates, starting at the minimum fron the point at which you you have planned costs or revenue.
5. Check Customizing of the exchange rate types 'G' and 'B' in the IMG under Global Settings -> Currencies.
I have checked all the procedures of the said customization and the values are similar to that of the error message, but still I'm unable to proceed further.
I have goe through the note 160375, but did not succeed on this issue.
Can any one help me out in solving the above error and also can any one explain me the process in SAP to calculate IRR?
Is there any more customization missing or whats wrong going in that process?
