Random Mozilla Proxy Authentication (Mozilla Firefox 30.0)

Hi All,
We are experiencing an issue with random intermittent Mozilla Proxy Authentication prompts. We are running Mozilla firefox in a Windows domain and using a clearswift proxy server. I've tried a large number of configuration changes with Firefox but still get these annoying prompts. This obviously looks bad to our user base. We do not suffer the same issues with IE11 or Google Chrome.
Please can anyone help before we look to remove this software and go for an alternative browser?
Many Thanks,
Kirk

I've called in the big guys in to help you.
What is your current Firefox and computer system?
Have you had any other issues?
While you are waiting, please check these out;
Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause

updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow
Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
* Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
* Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

While you are in safe mode;
Type '''about:preferences#advanced'''<Enter> in the address bar.
Under '''Advanced,''' Select '''General.'''
Look for and turn off '''Use Hardware Acceleration'''.
Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?
Then restart.

  • Web proxy settings not getting affected for Mozilla Firefox

I have an ISA Server setup as a web proxy in our domain environment . I have changed the proxy settings to the address of the new web proxy server for all the users in the domain by using group policy . Even the connection tab on the internet options have been disabled so that users wont be able to view the settings thereby preventing them from changing the proxy settings . It has been completed successfully . But when we tested the settings with various browsers by trying to access the blocked sites in our environment such as Facebook and other social networking sites , IE , Safari and Chrome seems to be detecting the proxy in the network and was blocking it but Mozilla Firefox and Opera does not seem to be affected by the change and users could have unrestricted access to the web . Please help me with how to configure mozilla firefox proxy settings using group policy edit .

I am facing a similar issue with the flash content on my website (appnina.com). Any flash content is not displayed on my website.
The problem is because of using flash plugin in Mozilla Firefox (21.0 - updated). The flash plugin does not get activated by default. That is whenever opening the site, the flash content is not displayed. It asks to click the activate button. This activation should be one time, however it always asks to do so whenever opening the site.
I just checked and found that this flash problem is not specific to my website but in general (youtube as well).
Let me put the screen shot of the same.
Any permanent solution to this. Let me check if I can delete the old plguin and download it again to solve this issue.
The problem seems to be because of compatibility problem of firefox with flash.

  • I get error messages when I try to visit certain websites using Mozilla Firefox but not when I use other browsers

About two days ago I noticed that when I tried to access certain websites using Firefox I always got this error message; "The connection was reset". I initially thought it was a problem with my isp before noticing that the network was fine on my phone and iPad. I then attempted opening the same links that brought up the error message on the TorBrowser and it worked perfectly.
Basically the only website that works on my Firefox browser right now is Google but if I do a search on Google and then click on any link that comes up as a result I get the same error message, "The connection was reset". I can also log into my gmail account but I cannot access any other website including Feedly, Tumblr, Twitter, Yahoo, Wordpress, Blogspot, even though they work fine on my other browser.
I cleared my cache and cookies, wiped out all the browsing history but the problem persisted so I uninstalled Mozilla Firefox and reinstalled it. The problem is still there. I checked the proxy settings, I went through all the solutions on this page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can?esab=a&as=aaq and still nothing. I am not sure what the problem is here but any solution will be much appreciated. I have used Firefox for years now and I am not really comfortable using another browser.
I use a Macbook OS X Version 10.9.4 and the latest Firefox 32.0.1

My first guess would be because Firefox disabled insecure TLS fallback in 37.
We have disabled insecure TLS version fallback. If a secure site isn’t working, you can try setting the “security.tls.version.fallback-limit” preference in about:config to 1 and see if it works then.
Weblogic out of the box does not use the newest protocols and is version intolerant.  I would need detailed config info to say for sure why PORTAL might still be working.  Are they running different Java versions for Weblogic?  Is there a mix of Certicom and JSSE being used for SSL?  Check out this analysis for more details.

  • Failed to load backgroud images after upgrade to 4.1.1 in Mozilla Firefox

    Hi,
I have recently upgraded our test APEX environment from 3.2.1 to 4.1.1.00.23. Everything went smoothly - I have only one small but annoying problem. In both administration and administration services some background graphics are not displayed. This issue occurs only under Mozilla Firefox (in MS IE it OK). The application frontend is OK in both browsers.
Under Firefox, I inspected the sourcecode in Firebug and the relative links to images. e.g.
    background: url("../apex/builder/bg-region-darkblue-r.gif") no-repeat scroll
show message "Failed to load the given URL".
I suppose that the issue might be somehow related to the fact that our application is accessed via apache proxy. Because when I open the administration and/or administration services page in FF directly on the server, it displays correctly (incl. images).
But the network (Apache proxy) configuration is exactly the same as in the previous version of APEX where we had no problem. Something must have changed in the sourcecode of the new version...
Does anybody know how to tackle such an issue? I'd like to have it solved before upgrading the production environment.
    Thank you.
    Zdenek

I forgot to mention that we use EPG instead of Apache HTTPD.
And, of course, I updated images following instructions in http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21673/otn_install.htm#BHAJIGDA
    >
    As you have mentioned earlier
Because when I open the administration and/or administration services page in FF directly on the server, it displays correctly (incl. images).Which means the images are uploaded correctly in EPG.
Maybe there is a virtual directory, or some other setup, on you Apache proxy that is still pointing to a folder has does not have the latest images.
As you have rightly concluded earlier this is most probably something to do with your proxy setup. Not Apex.
    So, check you httpd file.
    Cheers,

  • Where are Mozilla Firefox's Network Preferences saved?

    Hey everyone,
I am wanting to know where Mozilla Firefox saves it's network preferences.
For examples, I have to go into options --> advances --> network --> settings and change the proxy every time I change to a new work computer. Are these settings saved into a local file/into the registry so that I could just run a .bat file to change these settings in 1 click?
    Hope this makes sense :)
    Thanks in advance,
    Dominic Fichera

  • If I uninstall and reinstall Mozilla/firefox, why do ALL the previous setting return? I want a clean and fresh setup

    All previous setting appear.

Are you sure you want to get rid of everything? To set up a clean folder ''in parallel'' to your current settings folder you can:
    '''Create a new Firefox profile'''
''This is in addition to and does not replace your existing settings.''
A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should come with completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run) -- type or paste the following and press Enter:
    firefox.exe -P
    ''Don't delete anything here.''
Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
Click the Create Profile button, assign a name like March27, and ignore the option to change the folder location. Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
You can use the Library dialog (Ctrl+Shift+b or "Show All Bookmarks") to access the Restore feature. The trick is knowing where to find your bookmark backups in your regular profile. After clicking Choose File... you can paste this into the file name space and press Enter to drill down to your profile folders:
    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
The semi-randomly-named folder that has your last backup is usually the one ending with "default". Click into that one, then into the '''bookmarkbackups''' folder. Here you can pick the most recently updated file to restore.
Important: a Restore wipes any bookmarks currently in your active Firefox profile and replaces it with the contents of the restored backup.

  • Mozilla Firefox crashes more often than a Ford in the winter. What's with this?

I have been using Mozilla Firefox for quite some time now, until about 2 months ago when it started having random crashes. I shrugged it off as a coincidence, until it began happening anywhere from 5-30 times per session. I had to switch to Google Chrome because it crashed 11 times just going through the support pages to get to this one. Doing anything with the browser has become impossible. I get a pop-up afterwards asking me to send a bug report, which I have done 50+ times. I then have Mozilla restore my pages, only to have it crash again before the page has a chance to reload. I used to use Internet Explorer until it became unbearable, followed by Google Chrome until it began crashing regularly. I was very satisfied with Mozilla for about 4 years until this began. Is there any way to fix this, or should I be searching for a new browser yet again?

View this web page to try and solve the problem
    Hope this helps,

We just got a Cisco Ironport S160 Web Security device setup and it's blocking us from downloading Mozilla Firefox. If we go to Mozilla.org and click on Free Firefox download, it redirects to http://download.cdn.mozilla.net and says it blocked because it's malware. I tried adding download.cdn.mozilla.net to the Bypass Settings > Sources/Destinations to Bypass Proxy: Allow list and to the L4 Allow list and it's still being blocked.
