Random music pausing and voice control starting

when i am listening music in my itunes (ipod 4) it is paused and continue randomly.suddenly voice over system is starting.i updated software.how can i solve the problem ?

I think the other responder may be on to something. The Voice Control Prompt will come up if you press & hold the play/pause button on the Apple headset (or any compatible headset). If you are sweating a significant amount, it is possible that is getting into the control n the headset (or on the iPod itself) causing it to short out that button connection. If you have access to just a standard headphones (without that third connector on the plug) you could try those, or possibly even a stereo bluetooth headset removing the wires from the picture all together.

I have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue.

    Back up all data.
Quit Facetime and  Messages if either is running.
    Step 1
Hold down the option key and select
    Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Move the following item from the Library folder to the Trash (either may not exist):
    Caches/com.apple.imfoundation.IMRemoteURLConnectionAgent
Leave the Library folder open. Log out and log back in. Try the applications again. If they work now, stop here. Close the Library folder.
    Step 2
If you still have problems, quit again. In the Preferences subfolder, there may be several files having names that begin with any of the following strings:
    com.apple.imdsmsrecordstore
    com.apple.imservice
Move them all to the Trash. There may also be a file with the name "com.apple.imagent.plist". Move that to the Trash too.
Also in the Preferences folder, there's a subfolder named "ByHost". Open it and do the same thing.
Log out and log back in. Test again.

  • Lost compass and voice control apps

I upgraded from a 3g to a 3GS and when I plugged into iTunes I told it to restore the new phones settings from backup of the 3G. All was good until I realized that this wiped out the native 3GS apps- compass, maps, and voice control. Any ideas how to get them back without restoring to factory settings?

Those apps probably cannot be "wiped out" since they are built into the phone.
Try a reset of the phone: Hold the button on top and the Home button together.
Also look and see if your icons have moved to a different screen.

  • Hello. Whenever I plug in my headphones, the music speeds up, changes, and stops by itself. And then Voice Control starts for no reason. I put back Siri to see if that was the problem and the same thing happened with Siri. How do I fix this?

When I plug in my headphones the music starts to soeed up and stop ayi g by itself. Another issue is when it does stop, Voice Control is on when I don't hold on the home button. I turned on Siri because this is what started my problem (taking off Siri) and it didn't help, instead of Voice Control, Siri started to turn on. I didn't want Siri, so I put Voice Control and disabled it. I did so, and the problem still kept on going. Any ideas on how yo fix it?

I'd guess that the problem is due to a short in your earphones. Try another set.

  • Why are my headphones activating siri and voice control?

This just started happening the other day after I updated it.  When I plug my headphones in, it activates siri, and if siri is off it turns on voice control.  Is there anyway to fix this?  I like being able to switch the songs on my headset and not have to pull my phone out everytime. And the voice contol thing is pretty annoying, how do i turn it off?

    Hello xlKamikazeelx,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Are you using the included Ear Pods with remote that came with your iPhone?  Please follow the steps below to see if the center button could be stuck, causing this to occur.
The stereo headset buttons are not functioning properly
Verify the headset being used is compatible with the iPhone.
Verify there is no debris in the headset jack.
Insert the stereo headset and play audio using the Music app. Verify both left and right channels are functioning.
Press the center button to see if it can pause and resume audio.
Make a phone call and see if the microphone is working.
If the issue persists, try another headset.
If the issue persists with another headset, have the iPhone serviced.

  • TS2634 Ear phones and mic and voice control always coming on

I am having trouble when listening to music and using the earphones  ... Voice control keeps coming on

I have a similar problem but I don't know if it's localized just to using voice control because I have not used the headphones much. But similarly I was exploring my new iphone 3gs one day and tried voice control to play a song and no audio came out. I unplugged the headphones and still did not get any audio. I turned it off and back on again and it finally started working. This has since happened to me. So twice this has happened in a brief period. Not sure if this is a software or a hardware issue.

  • Applescript and voice control without SpeecchRecognitionServer

Hi, I want to make a voice controled applescript, but without SpeechRecognitionServer. What should I do?

I have been running Siri on my apple iPhone with Verizon I got in April 2011.
    It has been GREAT!
Just about a few days ago, this program "Siri" has added the following text that shows up as soon as you start the program...
"I've been replaced! The new Siri is even smarter and better-looking than me, and waiting for you on iPhone 4s. I'll be leaving for home on Oct 15th."
"Until then... how can I help you?"
    My question is...
How can Apple take away my current program on my current iPhone BEFORE the iPhone 4s.
I am NOT going to buy the new iPhone, since I have had my current iPhone for less than a year!
I will REALLY get MAD at Apple if my current iPhone will lose the original Siri!

  • When unplugged my MBP randomly shuts down and won't start up again

When my MBP is unplugged it randomly shuts off and won't restart. To get it to boot up again I have to plug it in.
Today I was using my computer for about 15 minutes unplugged and it just shut down by itself. I was right in the middle of typing something and it just cut out. The other weird thing is I don't get a low battery warning, nothing, it just shuts down.
Then I press the power button to restart and I get nothing. Even when I pull the battery out and put it back in nothing. I pressed the battery level button and it blinked rapidly on the lowest 2 lights. Keep in mind I was using my computer unplugged for only 15 minutes immediately after unplugging it from the wall after it had been charing for 15+ hours.
This makes no sense. Please help me.
    -Jacob

Sounds like a bad battery and/or problem with the PMU (power management unit) and/or memory.
"Half the start up sound" is a bad sign as it means it's failing the normal start up tests (I'd guess a Memory problem)
Reset the PMU and run the Hardware tests from Install DVD1 (hold down d at startup) and see what it reports.

  • HT4993 Siri and Voice Control autostarting

All of a sudden while watching Hulu on my phone Siri started up on her own every 5-10 seconds. I turned off Siri, now the voice control keeps popping up. This doesn't matter if I am watching something or not. Is there something wrong with my phone? What can I do to fix this?

    Settings > General > Siri = "Off"

  • Siri and Voice Control Tone/Sound/Beep/Ding

I have my iPhone on SILENT for a reason.  It's because I want the phone SILENT.  Why do you have a Silent feature if it doesn't make the device silent?
Please God, anyone, tell me how to turn this IDIOTIC feature off?!?!?!?!?!?!

    From the iPhone User Manual:
Voice Control for the Music app is always on, but you can prevent voice dialing when iPhone is locked. Prevent voice dialing when iPhone is locked: Go to Settings > General > Passcode Lock, then turn off Voice Dial (available only when Siri is turned off in Settings > General > Siri). To use voice dialing, you must first unlock iPhone.

  • ITunes not saving music, playlists and apps on start up

Using iTunes 10.5.2 on Win 7 OS.  Everytime I open itunes all my music, playlists and apps are gone.  I can find and reload all my files and then all works well until I close iTunes and shut down computer.  When I reopen iTunes after shut down, everything is missing again.  iTunes will not keep my files in the software and I have to relaod everything again.  A real pain....

  • Music pauses and needs double click at the remote to go on

I walk my dog 3 times a day, and I always do it whilst listening to music on my Iphone 3GS.
At the beggining I did not have this problem, but all of the sudden it started to happen.
The first time I play music once I'm on the street (specially if there was a restart before) it's fine, but if I manually pause the music with the clicker, after I unpause it begins to do random pauses in the music. It could take 5-20 seconds or even more than a minute to do so. And to unpause it, I have to click once, I hear music for about 0.2 sec, it gets paused again, and only with the second click it gets really unpaused.
After this happens 2 or 3 times in the same walk, the next unpause makes the music start to sound all cracked up and I have to disconnect the jack and put it back on. That solves it momentarily. If I pause manually again, it all re starts.
But the crazy thing compared to everyone else having issues with music randomly stopping, is that I always need to press the clicker twice to playback.
Note: I pause the music manually many times because I cross other people's dogs and I start chatting with them.
    Music never skips, only pauses.
I have changed headphones without any luck.
I went from a 3.x firmware (don't remember which one I had) to 4.3.1 with the same results.
I have tried listening to music with no applications at all loaded into memory except the ipod.
Shake to shuffle is of course off.
I have tried another application to play the music with the same results (but I think these apps really use the ipod app to actually play music).
I have cleaned the jack with q-tips, air etc.
I'll aprreciate if anyone can shed some light to this problem.
    Cheers!

Restore your iPhone and sync the music onto it again. Because it's jailbroken, there is no other way to isolate the problem.
Post if the issue persists after the iPhone has been restored.
