Random music that I did not add

I opened up iTunes today and found a heading called "Steve's Limewire Tunes" under the Shared tab. Before today I had never had anything in a Shared tab, and certainly not this. I don't know where this came from, but my computer would not let me open the file. How can I delete it and why is it here?

It's a cool feature of iTunes - if you are in an office or dorm with other iTunes users, you can play their music.
If you don't like it, turn it off: itunes > edit > preferences > sharing
Make sure all the checkboxes are claer.

  • Since my software update none of my music that I did not purchase through itunes work on my iphone? It sees the songs but none play.  How do I resolve this issue?

    Hello,
Since I updated my iphone none of my music that I did not purchase through itunes no longer works on my iphone.  It is weird, the music is on the iphone but in gray and the iphone does not recognize it.  The only songs that I could play are my songs that I downloaded on my phone that were purchased through itunes.
Another error: When I purchase a new song on itunes it doesn't put the song in my purchased playlist like it used too.  In order for me to play that song I just purchased I have to go back to the itunes store and play it directly from the place I purchased it from which is super annoying.
Frankly I am really disappointed with the constant errors from upgrades that should be "Up grades" Not "down grades".  Not sure why is going on but not seems to work the same anymore.  Does anyone have any idea what is wrong with my iphone music?
    Thank you,
    Dago

You will probably lose the music.
Why is it not on your computer?
Have you failed to maintain a backup copy?

  • My calendar has a daily recurring event that I did not add.  Having problems deleting it.

I just purchased the iPhone 4 thourgh Verizon.  I was adding an event to my calendar and noticed that every Monday @ 6AM there is a recurring event already on the calendar.  I did not add this.  It goes on indefinitely.  I selected the event and clicked 'delete all future events'.  It worked...but only for a second, then they were all back on the calendar.  I find that if i delete the events individually they stay deleted.  But, as you can imagine, this becomes quite tedious.
Any suggestions as to how this is on my calendar and how to delete all at once?

Please note that Firefox doesn't install Babylon, it's a malware like program that we are actively working on banning.

  • Is anybody out there have iTunes Match problems? Such as: trades your music that you did not purchase from iTunes into edited versions of a song.

This is very annoying and utterly frustrating

At the moment, you have two options as far as I know.
    1. Just live with the issue until Apple resolve it.
    2. Turn off iTunes Match. You can just turn it off on specific devices and sync in the old way via USB.
I'm afraid that is it really.

  • Why are there songs in my iTunes that I did not put there?

I just checked on my iTunes music library and there are songs on it that I did not add?  I am the ONLY one that uses this computer.  I downloaded one U2 song from YouTube on 8/17/2014 and put it in my iTunes and now I seem to have an entire album from U2 in my library as of 9/6--Other than downloading that one song I did not attempt to do anything associated with U2 (searching for them in iTunes store, etc).  It also has the little cloud next to the songs.  I am sure I did not purchase anything from iTunes.  I still have only 16 cents (as I have for over a year) on my iTunes account and have no credit card on file.  Where would they come from?

If they have the cloud icon then they are in the cloud, not on your iPod. You can turn off the showing of iCloud music via Settings > iTunes & App Store > Music (under 'show all' heading) 'off'.
But if you have never bought/downloaded those songs then they shouldn't show in the cloud for streaming/redownloading - the U2 album was an exception, Apple automatically added that to everyone's account whether they wanted it or not. It's your account that shows as being logged in in Settings > iTunes & App Store ?

  • HT4436 Since installing Ios7 280 music tunes out of a total of 360 will now only play when I'm within range of WiFi. How can I get them back on my Iphone 4s and scrap this stupid icloud that I did not want or ask for in the first place.

Since installing Ios7   280 music tunes out of a total of 360 will now only play when I'm within range of WiFi. The remainder now appear with the stupid Icloud logo beside them. How can I get them back on my Iphone 4s and scrap this stupid icloud that I did not want or ask for in the first place. Why can't rotten apple ask if you want the dam icloud rather than just stealing everything without permission and then you can only have access to it through wifi.

Wow, just posting and it seems that there is a solution that is working for me...
What I've did is I turned off iTunes Match on my iPhone, then turned in on again. Now in my iTunes library on my mac I can get the duplicates to be matched or uploaded to iCloud with a right-click, add to iCloud. iTunes Match starts to check the songs and everything is done correctly. Pretty nice!

Contact the iTunes Music Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of this web page and explain the problem to them. They should then issue a credit to your account.
And you might want to change your password to your iTMS account, just in case someone has indeed gotten access to your account.

there is a bunch of music in my library under "purchased" that I did not purchase. where does this come from?

It is possible you accidently added these songs to it. Even though the Purchased playlist is kind of a smart playlist you can still drag and drop songs from your library into it.

  • How do I delete music from the cloud that I did not purchase

I have several songs on my iTunes library that I did not purchase. how do I delete these? There are some songs that are objectionable. Thanks

    Hi there fredfromclearwater,
You can accomplish this by hiding your purchases in the iTunes Store. The article below has more information.

If the song was uploaded via iTunes Match, this next article outlines how to remove it.

  • How do I find a contact that I texted but did not add to contacts?

I upgraded from the 4 to the 6 and a person I had texted, but did not add their number to contacts, is not listed. Am I still able to find them?

If you restored your device from a backup of the iPhone 4, it should be in the Messages app, unless you deleted the message. If you deleted the message, then it is gone.

Thank you for your inquiry and the suggestions from our valued community members. Adding to what was stated, anyone who upgrades to the iPhone would need to activate it via iTunes. The upgrading line's voice mail box will be deleted and then needs to set up a new voice mail box.  The saving of the information of the voice mail prior to upgrading to the iPhone is suggested unless it is not needed. When doing an upgrade on a line, it will have the new 2 year agreement regardless of giving it away.
The one who wants the iPhone on their line will repeat the process with activating it via iTunes with their voice mail box being deleted and re set up just like the first line that upgraded performed. However, once the voice mail box process has been completed on both lines, one after the other during the activation process it does not need to be done again on either line. As far as the warranty, when giving selling your phone to another, the warranty is voided and is not able to be transferred.

  • How can I get an album to play in order on Itunes?  The songs keep skipping all around to other albums that I did not want to listen to at that time?

How can I get an album to play in order on Itunes?  The songs keep skipping all around to other albums that I did not want to listen to at that time?

It sounds like you might have the shuffle button at the bottom left of the iTunes (the button with the squiggly lines).
If that's not the case, then maybe you just need to sort your library by album by clicking the album tab at the top.
Is your music in a playlist, or are you trying to play it from the entire library?

  • I got an Itunes card and when I loaded it itunes downloaded an album that I did not order; so my question is how did this happen and how do I find out how much this album costs cause I would like to get my money back.

My wife got me an iTunes card today and as soon as I redeemed it a music album that I did not order downloaded and deducted the cost from my iTunes card. I did this happen and how can I get my money back? I do not listen to the type of music that was downloaded and feel like I was robbed in a way cause the only way things are suppose to download is if I click on them and enter my password. Please let me know if there is anything I can do and am I the only person this has happened to?
    Thank you

    Thank you Niel,
My wife loaded her ITunes card right after I loaded mine and the album did not and still has not loaded onto her phone so we think it could be in my settings we are going to check into that but I did have money removed my account so thank you for the link to the form.

  • I see charges on my iTunes account that I did not make.

Hello, I'm showing over 200 dollars of charges I did not make. In fact, my computer was being shipped back to me for school since the 17 of Feb. When I got it all up and running I open my email to see multiple charges of music on the 1st of March that I did not purchase. I consider myself a safe surfer and always keep windows and firefox updated, I also run noscript. I ran various anti trojan programs and spybot s&d in safemode and came up clean. I was in a rush to get to class so I was unable to call apple today before they closed.
What is apple's policy on something like this where multiple purchases were made on someone's account without them knowing about it? I plan on calling them in the morning but I would like some input on if this has happened to anyone else and what they did to rectify the situation.

Remove your CC info from your iTunes account, change your password and immediately notify your credit card company and dispute the charges.

Same as any other retailer with bogus charges. Your credit card company authorized the charges so it's up to you to dispute the charges with the credit card company and your CC company to contact Apple.

Don't waste your time. They will tell you to notify your CC company as would any other retailer.
