Random-non-apple-question ADOBE LIGHT ROOM?

...a random question for anyone that uses adobe light room... when i go to import cannon raw files it imports as colour and then after they 'render preview' they turn black and white...
i's so fustrating!
no presets are on and i reset the settings...
no other format of picture does this.
it dosent matter how i import the files, it still turns black and white.
if anyone could help that would be awsome

Have creative cloud for teams. Using Win7 32bit Directx 11 Have latest AAM on desktop. Lightroom does not appear. Trying to install light room. I download from website but it is a trial and asks for serial number.

Thanks for the response. I have now figured out the issue. Even though I am the team admin for our licenses I had not responded to my own CC team invite. Once I did that all of the tryouts became downloads and the missing apps from AAM showed up and allowed me to install.,,

How to defocus/blur certain areas using adobe light room

I need to make certain things blur or defoucs in the photo. For Eg: in the below link apart from the face rest of the background should be defoucsed. Is there any filter or setting to make only background as defocused?

To add to what Rikk said..
Local Sharpness = -1 will mask .5% of global sharpening
Local Sharpness = -50 will mask 100% of global sharpening (without blurring) - I still use this setting along with noise reduction to clean up sky etc.
Local Sharpness = -51 will blur a tiny bit.
Local Sharpness = -100 will blur as much as possible.
Summary:
========
local sharpness has 3 distinct ranges:
positive: add to global sharpening
negative (-1 to -50): mask global sharpening
more negative (-51 to -100): blur
In my opinion, it's worthwhile knowing where the cut-off is, exactly, since an inadvertent blur when you don't want blurring is a real bummer, and if you think you'll be blurring a little at -50, you won't be.
Beware: overlapping pins are additive, so if you have two pins at -50, overlapping strokes will blur, whereas non-overlapping strokes will not..

2 options
Preparation - do you keep all your presets with the catalog or not? If not, you will need to copy them from the old computer to the new one
assuming you are using time machine to move everything from one to another, then use time machine and copy everything QED
assuming you are doing a new install.
copy your lightroom catalog to a separate hard drive / flash drive ensuring that you've made a backup 1st
install LR4.#fail on your new computer
copy your catalog from 1. to your new computer and
click click the catalog on your new computer.
That should do the trick

Airplay Problems using Adobe Light room

I have recently purchased Adobe Lightroom and have completed my first slide show. When I try to send this to view on my TV by way of Airplay the show plays for about 20 minutes and the times out requiring me to tap the mouse and hit play again. It does pick up where it left off but this is very annoying. I have gone into settings and changed energy saver to computer sleep and display sleep to never. Additionally removing check marks on the statements below these to graphs.........What am I missing and how should I rectify this problem.

I have a new imac with intel i7 quad core 4. I have purchased online download for Adobe Light Room 5. I received it but it shows two vesions with no help on which to select. I see the option to choose a 32 bit or 64 bit version. I do not understand which is appropriate for me to select.

Getting Light Room 4 Serial Number logged in to start

I purchase Adobe Light Room 4 several months ago and loaded the software on my iMac. I just tried to get started and was unable to get acceptance of my serial number. My serial number is an 18 character string. My serial number has a bar code under it. There is also an ID PN and is followed by 8 numbers. I also tried submitting that ID and still didn't get the next button to light up. I noticed that the serial number format for Adobe LightRoom4 for signing in was 24 characters. What am I doing wrong?

Restore iPad to Factory Default; do not restore from backup. It may be the cause of the problem.
Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

I am having trouble with Light Room 4... Why is it so slow at random Times??

Problem being that at random when I am going along selecting images or editing, Light Room decides to slow right now and pauses on a picture saying LOADING for a good minute until finally loaded. Light Room is up to date. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled it. I'm not sure why you would upgrade to 10.4.3 when the OS X Update Combo 10.4.6 (PPC) is available. Especially if you're ever run third-party program installers that asked for an administrative password, be sure to run Disk Utility> Repair Permissions on the hard drive after the computer restarts.
If you normally shut down an OS X Mac overnight or leave it in system sleep, the cron maintenance tasks cannot run in their nominal 3 am timeframe. (Display-only sleep allows the maintenance tasks to run). Tiger 10.4.2 and later will force the maintenance tasks to run after sufficient time has elapsed. Otherwise, you can leave the Mac in display-only sleep a weekend or two a month; you can manually Force Background Maintenance; or you can use a third-party utility such as OnyX to run the maintenance. Note that any system utility you use must be compatible with the OS version (e.g., use the Tiger version of OnyX with 10.4.x).

I have successfully installed Flash Player on All Winner Android 4.4.2 100.1" Tablet. You have to use the following link to Archive Flash Player Archived Flash Player versions and download Flash Player 11.1 for Android 4.0 (11.1.115.81). It has to be used in conjunction with UC Browser, Dolphin Browser, Boat Browser or any other which supports Flash player & make some changes to settings. It worked for me.

Have down loaded Yosemite over Mountain Lion. Indesign CS 5 is not working and requests Java script CE6. Apple stated Java 10 , but it still does not operate although Bridge works so as Light room and Photo Elements. How do I solve this problem

Indesign CS5 does not operate although Bridge, Light room and also Photoshop elements operate OK A sub menu from Indesign request Java SE 6, after a long play with Apple I end up with Java 10 How can I solve this problem rapidly. It isn't Apple's job to ensure third party software works with a new OS. But Java 6 is here:

In light room 5 under camera calibration the only option I have is adobe standard. Nothing else.

I have seen the tutorial that shows different models of cameras coming up under camera calibration in light room 5. The only option I get for my sony cameras is Adobe standard. Is there some setup procedure that I have missed

There may be only one profile depending on which camera you have. Multiple profiles are only available on some camera.
