Random Numbers Appearing at Top of 5800

Hello there.
Two days ago, I purchased a Nokia 5800. I think it is an excellent phone, but I'm quite irked that I've already encountered a problem.
When I access the Menu, a random number fluctuates at the top right-hand corner of the screen somewhere between 0.7 and 16.38.
After doing some independent research, I have concluded that it is the doing of a faulty application. However, I have not downloaded an application that has not been endorced by the Ovi Store/does not have a license and is not trusted. Just in case, I have uninstalled a few applications that I find useless, so here are the applications that remain on my 5800:

Blackboard (downloaded from Ovi)
Client Platform
eBuddy (licensed and trusted by many people)
Elements (downloaded from Ovi: my sister is a Chemistry teacher, therefore she needs it)

Help would be very much appreciated; it is not helping my confidence in Nokia (seeing as I usually buy Sony Ericsson) that they are possibly endorcing faulty apps through their heavily-boasted store.

The soft reset did the job. I was trying to do a soft reset beforehand after reading a different thread, but they said that it was *#7370*, not *#7370#. Nokia should definitely release a sheet of these codes, especially as I had to use one to get the MAC Address of the phone for my router.

Can you describe some of the numbers and where they appear on the LCD screen? (ex. in one of the corners or on the sides)
Do the numbers appear after every image that is taken?

Have the developers considered randomizing the numbers for the passcode? It is easy to watch the pattern when someone enters their passcode. However, if the numbers appeared is a random order each time, it would enhance the security feature even more.

He slightly beat you Meg, and I'm in the same boat with you. If I used a passcode I believe I would go with the feature to use a longer alphanumeric passcode rather than a 4 digit number even with the random code entry.
And of course if Apple did put this feature in they need to make it an option or we'll see lots of posts wanting to know how to get rid of it.

Backup your iPhoto library and hold down the option and command keys while launching iPhoto - hold until the first aid window appears and rebuild thumbnails - it may take a few tries

I upgraded my 3rd generation ipad to ios 6.0.1 and now am experiencing various issues. Neither Pages or Numbers will open. I just see a gray screen that says Pages or Numbers at the top and all of my documents are gone.

1- Neither Pages or Numbers will open. I just see a gray screen that says Pages or Numbers at the top and all of my documents are gone. The icon that allows me to create a new document also does not appear. I went to icloud.com to see whether my documents still existed, which brings me to the 2nd problem.
2- It appears that all of my Pages documents are still on icloud, but all of my Numbers documents are gone. There were only about 10, but I access 2 of them nearly every day, so this is a big issue for me.
I went into Settings and all of the icloud information is correct and it "Documents & Data" is on. When I look at the storage, I see the Pages documents but not the Numbers ones. The next thing I did was turn my ipad off and back on, but this didn't fix anything. Since my Pages documents are still on icloud, I then tried to delete the Pages app from the ipad so that I could reinstall it, which resulted in the 3rd problem.
3- I cannot delete any apps. I can get all of the icons to shake and the small x IS available, but everything freezes when I click it. I can't do anything at that point except reset the ipad or wait until it eventually restarts itself. I've tried this with Pages as well as multiple other apps, all with the same result. I've also tried downloading a new app (which worked fine) and then deleting that one, but I got the same result.
3a- A small related issue to this that I am far less concerned about is that when the ipad restarts itself, it comes back on and the screen is really dark and I can barely make out what appears on the screen. If I enter my password right away, it stays that way until I go into Settings - Brightness & Wallpaper and touch the brightness setting (although I'm not actually changing the setting because it already shows that the brightness is turned up a little over halfway). If I don't enter my password right away and let it go completely dark, then click the home button, the brightness is fine.
So now I'm stuck. My guess is that I will need to restore it, but wanted to check before I take that step. Unfortunately, my laptop is on its deathbed so I haven't been synching my ipad to it and I fear my Numbers documents are gone forever. I'd like to try everything I can to fix these issues before doing the restore in hopes that I can get the Numbers documents back.
Any suggestions for any or all of these problems?

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

.swf inside HtmlLoader appears on top of other air content

When there is an HtmlLoader with a .swf wmode window the .swf file appears over top of everything!
I understand that .swf should appear above everything inside the HtmlLoader, but I don't think it should appear over top of anything outside of the HtmlLoader.
A simple example of this would be:

Even placing a second HtmlLoader with an .swf wmode window over top produces random results with the top .swf sometimes on top and other times below the lower .swf

As you have discovered, two elements on the surface of a <div> cannot occupy the same space. The solution lies in getting one of the elements to "lie down," either by getting it totally off the surface and making it a background of it or by actually "levitating" one above the other.
Apply a unique id to each div in which an image now lies.
Place each image in the background of its div, defining it in your CSS.
You will not then be able to use the image as a button, and you may want to add something else to click on.
OR (this second way is probably better)
Change the .FilmStill definition by adding position: relative;
Change the .SlantedWritingFilms definition by adding position: absolute; and positioning attributes (left: 0; top: 0; for instance)
Change each .SlantedWritingFilms <span> into a <div> within <div class="FilmStill">.

How do you generate multiple random numbers between 1 and 49

I am new at mac programming and I want to make an iPhone app with the free SDK. What I would like to try is a random number generator. I imagine it as when the user clicks a button 6 random numbers from 1 to 49 would appear in a label or another control. If someone could please give me the code that would place these randomized numbers in a label I would greatly appreciate it. I know how to link all the controls together, I just need the code. Thank-you to anyone that can help!

My iphone 4 is calling random numbers

My iPhone 4 is dialling random numbers on its own.
I looked down at my phone when i thought it was locked + it was dialling this random number and then stopped.
The number appeared in my recent calls list and it is a completely random number; not from my contacts or even similar to any unsaved numbers in my recent calls.
In addition, this follows a couple of recent cases of possible pocket dialling of my contacts. Which I thought would be impossible cause i keep my phone locked with a passcode.
How did this happen?

Okay, I have no idea how to delete this, but if this ever happens to someone else, don't share your apple ID with younger siblings. Turns out I was watching their conversations... bit creepy lol

Senser in middle top of 5800?

I've just purchased nokia 5800 few days ago and updated firmware to nokia care from 11.0.008 to 20.0.012.
my friend has also purchased nokia 5800 yesterday and he noticed while he receives any call and his phone is in cover provided by nokia, his 5800 doesnt show lights but as soon as he put out his 5800 out of cover it's lighting..
he hasnt updated his firmware yet..
i've checked his phone and came to know there is a senser in the middle top of 5800 and if i close it even when it's out of cover, light will be off while someone is calling.
i checked similar thing in my phone, but my phone doesnt show such sensor..???it doesnt off lights when i cover sensor or my 5800 is in cover.
though i dont think it's due to firmware update, i just mentioned as it cld be..i dont know..
any one know this?

if it's due to newer firmware in my phone, nokia shdnt remove such good feeatures in newer updates.

one more bug i found after update to V20:
after capturing image form camara, if i click on delete, it deletes image but doesnt remove that photo from screen, so we assume it's not deleted and we have to click on exit.

Have you tried the standard fixes:
- Reset
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restoring from backup
- Restoring to factory defaults/new iPod
Are you using the headphone/mic? If so sometimes sweat/moisture in the controls can make the iPod do strange things.
What number are you looking for?
If les than a year old, the Apple warranty still covers it.

Bips and random numbers while making calls

When talking on the phone (iPhone 4 with iOS 6) I get beeping noises and random numbers generated at the top of the screen. Has anyone else encountered this? HELP!

I'm having the same issue and it has just started after the recent OS update. I have a 5S. Hope there is a fix, as it is terribly annoying.

Photo Screen Saver weird random images appear

When the photo screen saver runs, I get random icons pictures appear on top of good photos. Pictures of Country flags, tiki masks, guitars, and other iconic like pictures show up on hi-res photos. It randomly happens, and I do not have these other pictures stored anywhere on the mac... I know it sounds a little crazy, but does anybody else have this problem?

This is not isolated to Leopard 10.5.X only.
I had the same weirdness with 10.4.X.
The Pictures folder inside your home directory is the root of all your iPhoto pictures database, iChat icons and what ever pictures you put in there.
If in Screen Saver you chose your Pictures folder then Screen Saver has access to every single picture within that folder. That includes iChat icons and your iPhoto folder.
Some of the weird pictures I saw came from the iChat icon folder. The pixelated and vertical pictures that you see comes from the iPhoto folder. The pixelated ones are the cashed iPhoto icons and the vertical ones are the original unmodified iPhoto photos. Yes rotating a picture is a modified one.
Before iPhoto 2008 the contents of the iPhoto folder was viewable by anyone. With iPhoto 2008 the folder looks like a single file. That was most likely to stop inexperienced users from wrecking havoc to there iPhoto database and then complaining about iPhoto.
I do not remember if the database of iPhoto 2006 is closed or opened and I do not know Screen Saver will have access to the contents of the now closed iPhoto 2008 data file.
You might still have weird iChat icons, that look like flags, if you chose the Pictures folder.. if default link iChat icons is still there.
I do not personally use the Screen Saver but I am pretty sure that by choosing an iPhoto folder will fix the weirdness permanently.

I'm working from a chapter in Gary Rosenzweig's
ActionScript 3.0 Game Programming University. In this
example 36 random cards are created and placed on the stage. I
understand most of the code except for this line:
thisCard.cardFace = cardList[r]; The line above the one I
just mentioned assigns a random value to r and I don't understand
how the computer knows it's not assigning a value to cardFace that
already exists? Since this function is iterating several times
wouldn't it be possible for one of the random numbers to be
repeated?

yes, one card is deleted. that card is thisCard.cardFace.
it's just like dealing cards. when you deal an ace of clubs
to someone, that card is removed from the deck. any card dealt
after that is randomly selected from the remaining cards.
the code above is more akin to organizing a deck of cards
with the ace of clubs on top, king of clubs beneath, queen of
clubs,...,2clubs,ace of diamonds,...,2diamonds,...,2spades. then
pick a random number between 1 and 52, select that card number and
remove it from the deck. now pic a random number between 1 and 51
and remove that from the dect. etc.

3G S dialing random numbers

I searched and searched and can't find a conclusive answer to the issue I am having.
Every two weeks or so, my 3G S gets busy...
There are two symptoms:
1. When I dial out a number, a second, random number is dialled (and registered as an outgoing call) and a phone, somewhere rings. I can talk to the person I actually dialled, the other person just hears a quiet hum.
2. While off, it dials random numbers in quick succession. Usually it picks two numbers from the "Recent" list and rings them. Yesterday it rang a friend of mine 3 times. After the first call was hung up by my friend, his phone rang instantly - he refused this time just to have the phone ring again (which he answered). Another person had 3 phone calls from me at around 20 minutes intervals.
A few days ago, I pulled my phone from my pocket, turned it on, just to see the green bar up top saying "... to return to the call..." - the phone was happily recording a voice message on my work colleague answering service.
And yes, the phone is turned off after every use, not rattled about in my pockets while on etc.
I did a reset, a reset with data deleted, restore, everything I could think of.
Any thoughts (on the subject) would be appreciated.

I've seen this behavior before, & the only time I could successfully trace the cause, was to a bluetooth headset, still turned on & placed in a purse where the movement was randomly pressing the last number dialed button, thus causing the phone of course to place a call. If you don't have any active bluetooth headsets in the vicinity & bluetooth is in fact turned OFF on your phone, the only thing I can suggest is to restore your phone as a "new" device in itunes & then re-sync your itunes content. If the issue persists after doing that, an appointment at an Apple store for a replacement would be in order.

I am trying to generate an array of 30 random numbers. after every 5 readings a new vi should open and tell the user that 5 readings has been completed. and again carry on with the generation of array.

since i do not have a transducer now, i am currently generating an array of 30 random numbers. after every 5 readings a warning should be given to the user that 5 readngs are complete. this cycle should repeat. the array size is 30.
please help me out, waiting for reply asap.
once i have the transducer, i will be taking 30 analog samples and then after every 5 smaples that wraning will be displaye din a new VI

Use a while loop with a time delay representing your sampling period.
Use the count terminal to check if equals 4, so 4th iteration=5th sample.
Use a case structure. The true case will only be executed on the 4th iteration.
In the true case place a subVI with your desired message in the front panel. Go to the VI properties window and set "open front panel when called".
The closing condition of the warnign is not giving in your description.
Consider that rather than usign a subvi for this, you could use the "One/Two/Three button dialog" or "display message" vis at the "dialog and user interface" pallete.
Please give it a try and send your own VI. Do not expect us to provide a working solution.
