Random photos dropping off line
While working on a sequence, some of the photos dropped off line. Some times I can see the thumbnail on the time line, if I just touch the red "off line" clip. However, if I scroll down the time line (lets just say at 3:00 minutes), then go back to the original thumbnail photo (lets say at 1:30), it goes red again.
None of my photos were moved, and are intact at their same location. Even in "reveal in finder," shows them in the same location.
Why is this happening, and will this effect my final project when I export to a Quicktime movie?
I "right clicked" on the clip, then chose "reveal in finder." Obviously that doesn't reconnect the path.
That's right, this option only tells you where the file is located.
At the bottom of that list is Reconnect Media. You use the options to navigate to the original media then reconnect.
In the cascading menu: File>Reconnect Media is another way to do the same job.

Revolution drops off line every few mins
I know it's an old phone and i'm tired of upgrading for not much better.
Why does the revolution continually lose the internet connection? Every few minutes then it reconnects.
I have other phones in the house and they do not do that, so it's not my router etc.
It happens when I'm not connected to the Wi fi as well as being connected.
Often times I get no bars and no appearance of communications. safari5.1.8 drops off line, but airport stays connected, but window says you are not connected to internet? then a couple minutes later it reconnects. I am on an AT&T wireless.
my mac G4 does not have any problem with this. suspect it is safari, airport never drop off or turn off, just safari

All photos in in my Lightroom 5, appearing off-line with question mark next to all folders. I have over 45,000 photos. How can I get everything to show up again. First time this has ever happened.

After a long period of zero problems I suddenly found that my imac-G5 is randomly dropping offline/out of network. Sometimes when left alone for a short time, other times longer, such as overnight, or going to the gym. Three hours later I come back and I'm offline. Network connection gone, and I have to re-up.
This concerns me as the first time (the next morning) I found a few applications I had left off, now running and the network connection severed. It has since happened several times. Metal, bulletproof glass, and dense paper are a few things that might interfere with your AirPort signal. Here you can learn all about potential sources of interference.
Preventing Interference for Wireless Networking
If an AirPort network is out of range or often interrupted, it may be due to interference.
Interference results in:
• A decrease in the range of contact with the base station.
• A decrease in the rate of data transfer.
Sources of Interference for AirPort
The farther away the interference source, the less likely it is to cause an issue. The following items can cause interference with AirPort communication:
• Microwave ovens: Placing your computer or an AirPort Base Station near a microwave oven that is in use may cause interference.
• Direct Satellite Service (DSS) RF leakage: The coax cable that came with certain types of satellite dishes may cause interference. Obtain newer cables if you suspect RF leakage.
• Certain electrical devices such as power lines, electrical railroad tracks, and power stations.
• 2.4 GHz phones: A cordless telephone that operates in this range may cause interference with AirPort communication when used. There are also other devices that operate in the 2.4 GHz range that could cause interference.
• Metal objects: If possible, move metal objects or change the placement of the Base Station so the path between your AirPort equipped-computer and the Base Station is free from metal objects that may cause interference.
• X-10 video senders (transmitters/receivers) that operate in the 2.4 GHz bandwidth.
• Any other devices that operate in the 2.4 GHz bandwidth (microwaves, cameras, baby monitors, and so on).
Note: Some devices may not overtly state that they operate in the 2.4 Ghz band. The operations manual should indicate whether a particular device makes use of the 2.4 Ghz band. Typically, these will be advertised as "Dual Band" devices.

How to reduce effects of interference
If you experience less than optimum performance due to interference from other devices that operate in the 2.4 GHz bandwidth, you may be able to reduce the effect of interference by changing to a different channel. Less than optimum performance may be characterized by low signal strength in the AirPort menu bar item, slow connection to the Internet, or slow file transfers between wireless computers. Using AirPort Admin Utility, you should try switching away from the channel that is experiencing interference. If you are currently using the default channel of 10, for example, try switching to channel 1.
The location of AirPort Admin Utility is normally /Applications/Utilities/ on Mac OS X computers. For Mac OS 9 computers, use Sherlock or Command-F in the Finder to locate AirPort Admin Utility. If you are using an AirPort Extreme Base Station, you need to click the Show All Settings button after connecting to the base station.
Note: Wireless Internet access requires an Internet service provider (fees may apply) and AirPort (or AirPort-compatible) wireless Ethernet card and base station. Some ISPs are not compatible with AirPort. For more information, see AirPort: Requirements for Wireless Internet Access. -
Mail is dropping off line even though the mailbox menu is set at On-line
I'm having a strange mail issue that just started the other day. I open mail and my new messages are downloaded and I can read them. I'll collapse the mail window and work in other Apps. When I go to check my mail again the actual email message in the lower box is gone and replaced with this message:
"The message from "xxxxx" <[email protected]> concerning “xxxx” has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it."

The mailbox menu says I'm on-line. I have to quit then re-open and I am able to see my email but if I go to another App and come back to mail the same thing happens. Anyone familiar with this?

It looks like you should be able to fix the problem proceeding as the article suggests. Post back with your observations if that’s not the case.
How many mail accounts do you have and what type are they (POP, IMAP, .Mac)? -
Found 0 results for My browser is missing important items, the whole tool bar...., drop down menu to print, copy, work off line, file, save, book mark, history. I just installed latest foxfire on windows xp. Found some instructions but they called for using keys my computer doesn't have ( key in OSX There is no file, edit , history, help, tools, navigation, all the things your directions say to use. Also I always get hung up and the message a scrip is running. I don't know what thises scrips are but I sure don't need them.

I've recently begun to have problems with Safari dropping me off-line on several different web sites. These are nationally recognized web sites (e.g., Food Network, University of Georgia Sports, to name a couple). Sometimes Safari won't even load the site before dumping, at other times it dumps when I use the search function within the site. This is a repeatable problem only at certain sites. Otherwise Safari behaves itself. Any ideas?

There are more and more sites that Safari 1.3.2 for Panther that are no longer functioning with the older version. Later versions of Safari require 10.4.11 or later OS.
You most likely need to switch to either Camino or Firefox. Make sure to use the correct version of either though for Panther 10.3.9. Camino is v.1.6.6 and Firefox is v.2.0.0.20.

iPhoto has one same (random) main photo for everything on top repeatedly with other appropriate photos behind it. How do I get off that one random photo so the real photos appear on top as it should be?
Backup your iPhoto library and hold down the option and command keys while launching iPhoto - hold until the first aid window appears and rebuild thumbnails - it may take a few tries

Email goes off-line randomly??
It seems as if my mail system goes off line from time to time without my encouragement. Personally I'd prefer that option to go off-line not even exist. I fire up my mail system when I need it. I turn it off when I don't. I see no need to go "off-line". Is there some way to lock that option so my mail system doesn't go off line? Any idea what prompts that action in the first place???
If there is a problem communicating with an account's incoming mail server when the account is checked for new mail, you will be prompted to manually enter the account's password or that account will be taken offline only.
It would be preferable for the Mail.app to provide an accurate error message instead when this does occur and there is no way to prevent it that I'm aware of.
What is your time interval setting for automatically checking for new mail? If set to every 1 minute, change it to every 5 or 15 minutes instead. -
Elements dropping off my files when printed from a PDF
Please can anyone help... I am running InDesign CS1, I have recently designed a leaflet which included dotted lines for answers to questions.
To make the dotted lines I used the full stop button (rather than the dotted line option on the line tool). Because the file had an awkward bleed area it was necessary to create a PDF file (using the inDesign PDF export option at High Resolution, no compressions) to lay the document up ready for print.
However when I printed the document to a networked Colour Copier and to the Platemaking system the lines had mysteriously dropped off... Unfortunately I didn't spot that they weren't on the Platemaker Preview because they hadn't appeared on the Colour Copy (which I use to compare the two for errors) and so a 10,000 print run later and the job was rejected. Does anyone know why this has happened?
If I print directly from the original InDesign document they show perfectly. If I print the same PDF layup from InDesign CS2 they don't show. Yet if I print from InDesign CS4 they print perfectly from exactly the same file, so I don't think it can be down to the PDF or the typeface (which is standard Helvetica Light).
I obviously can't afford for this to happen again and it would be good to know if there is something I can do to prevent it... In a perfect world all 3 machines in the office would be running the same version, but in the current financial climate we can't afford to upgrade. I would use CS4 all the time, but for the other two computers which would never be able to open the InDesign files again. It doesn't make sense to me as EVERYTHING was created on the CS1 machine, so I would assume that the machine and software would be able to use it's own programming without issue.

How can I save a previously published web page off-line instead of deleting
I have some web pages with photos I do not want to post anymore on my iWeb site. However, I do not want to "delete" the pages because I spent so much time putting them together. Is there a way to save them off-line somewhere for access later on? I am a Scoutmaster and post photo pages of our hikes and adventures. I prefer to save my "masterpiece" pages somewhere for future reference instead of deleting them, which is the only option, to make room for more pages.

Tables off line/alignment-please help!
I've been working on this problem for a week now and just
can't seem to figure it out. I used a dw template and created a
table with scrolling text in the middle cell. The site looks great
in Firefox and Safari, but i've gotten feedback from people using
IE that the tables are "off line." When I looked for myself, sure
enough, the table seemed to be part of the preceeding paragraph,
and off line, causing part of the table to appear off the page.
What am I doing wrong?
