Random popup requesting password

I know we are not supposed to be able to get viruses on the IPad but I just started getting a popup window on my IPad 2 in the form of the password required box stating: Enter the password for the CalDAV account "Yahoo!". Not my account nor one I've ever seen. Is this a virus?

Check in Settings>mail, contacts, calendars and look at the accounts you have set up there. If there is a yahoo email set up there than that is what could be causing your issue. I am positive it is not a virus

Outlook 2010, 2013 on new 2010 exchange server get windows security popup for password

We recently migrated exchange 2003 on 2003 server to Server 2008R2 and Exchange 2010 SP3. The installation had multiple problems and we resorted to Microsoft technical support for the server resolution. On the server level it seems to function
as expected. Our problem is with outlook 2010 and 2013. Some of these outlook 2010 installs existed prior to the exchange 2010 upgrade and worked as expected prior to the upgrade
Now with new machines (never been connected to our Domain) and some existing windows 7 machines with outlook 2010 and 2013, we get a windows security popup requesting the password.
We have spent a couple of weeks reading blogs, how two's and guaranteed fixes that don't fix. The best we can do is start outlook, get the folders to sync and shortly thereafter it will request the password. You can enter the password and
it comes right back requesting the password. You can cancel the request and you will get needs password in the area where it shows connected to exchange server and then will not prompt for another password until you need an update from the server
or you try to send and email. The email will not send until provide a password and immediately press send. Once in the outbox it will require the password again to send and then cancel the popup and repeat the process again.
Outlook test, turn off discovery, remove all credentials do not help. Outlook anywhere turned off. So far nothing seems to help.
Does anybody have a solution to my dilemma?

Please check the problematic users' Outlook settings by the following steps:
1. Click File > Account Settings > Account Settings > Change > More settings.
2. In Security tab, make sure "Encrypt data between Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange" option is checked, "Always prompt for logon credentials" is unchecked.
3. Change the logon network security to Negotiate Authentication, and Apply > OK to set it.
Restart Outlook to have a try. If the issue persists, please
re-create Outlook profile to check whether the issue persists.

How do I set a default to never allow access to my contacts and stop the popup requests on every website?

Since last few Nightly updates, I am getting one or more (one site had 5 domains) popup requests similar to "Allow ad.doubleclick.net to access your contacts? [] Don't ask for this site again. Allow access Don't allow access .... This is getting really annoying. If you are going to add this capability to Firefox, please add a default config setting to always deny access and stop the popups.

It is in the process of being disabled. It will likely be some time next week before the code will be reverted.

Unable to log into iCloud because old email pops up requesting password. Password not working and unable to receive reset

I changed the main email on my Appleid a few months back. Everything worked fine until uppgrading to iOS7 on my phone. I am now unable to log into iCloud because the old email pops up and requesting password which is not working. I cannot rest the password because my old email is unvalid as I have changed network provider. The id works fine on Appstore and iTunes so its only iCloud that making trouble.
Any suggestions to remedy this problem?

I've had to reset my password 3 times in the last 3 days.
At first, I couldn't get my email. I sweated it out for 12 hours, reset my password and I was good to go again. 48 hours later, I ran into the same issue. Only problem is, not only do I get the 'Incorrect username or password' on my device, but my iCloud.com login no longer works. so now I can't read my messages on the web OR on my device/computer.
I have went to appleid.apple.com and reset my password there: no luck.

I have restored my device back to factory settings: no luck.

Since the last OS X update when Safari was updated to version 6.1, I am having problems with passwords not being saved from specific sites that request that passwords "not be saved".
Example: Adobe.com
I did not have problem with Safari 5.1.
When I go to Safari Preferences and "click on box" "Allow Autofill even for websites that request passwords not be saved", a pop up box opens and refers me to "SECURITY & PRIVACY" indicating that a "SCREENLOCK" must be engged to allow for this action.
I have my firewall on.
I don't understand what they are requesring me to lock & how to do it.
Anyone who understands what I am being asked to do -or- how I can re-enable password saving, please email me.

Actually, Linc's reply is EXACTLY the answer that is required.
If you go to the setting he mentions and enable the password after screen saver or sleep, then Safari 6.1 will allow you to save all the autofill login information you like, even the stuff for sites that request not to save them.

2 Random contact requests

So I just logged in to skype and found 2 random contact requests from I presume strangers. I have no idea who they are. I stupidly replied to one but got a reply back. So I was wondering was this a potential scammer? I've bot blocked and declined the contact request as well as launching a full computer scan and there is no potential threats found. Was I paranoid or was this a scam.

In your privacy setting there is an option to only allow messages, calls and such from people in your contacts. Just double check to make sure it's all checked properly

A December 2, 2013 Apple FAQ says that you can go to Mavericks:Safari:Preferences:Passwords and select "Allow AutoFill even for websites that request passwords not be saved."
However, this checkbox does not appear.
The features and management of iCloud Keychain are causing concern among users.
I share these. For example, today I chose to let Safari produce a complex password for a Chase credit card site. Yet, when I went back to that site to sign in, I could not. Nor was that password in the list on Safari!
This is not good. For iCloud Keychain to be trusted, it must be very reliable, and we must be allowed to manage it.
I was forced to reset the password for Chase, and had to refuse Safari's offer to use their suggested password (as I would possibly never see it again!)

I login as the main user of my laptop and lately Mail, something called 'macdotcom' and iChat requests password access to Keychain. I type in my password but realize that this is a new behavior (have not upgraded lately) and wondering whether this is a virus or trojan horse program?
Why would I need to provide a password when I've already authenticated as the administrator of the computer?
Is this normal? or should I be worried about a trojan horse? How can I check?

So the whole system is essentially becoming unstable. Any help on how to track down the culprit would be appreciated. Thanks!

Family members with iphones can connect to the wifi automatically and Mac compiuter in home connects to this wifi and this iphone did connect automaticcally until a few weeks ago. Does not request password when try to connect to own wifi..just says "cant access.". Also cant access the Apple apps store to purchase apps but all other function operate normally. Apple store tech says nothing wrong with phone. It connected to their wifi and coud access apps store from their wifi. This iphone belongs to son who is autistic. I am mother trying to resolve this issue and very frustrated. Have reset router but no change.

Based on the symptoms, your phone is fine, and the Router is the problem. Try http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398. Specifically the "forget this network" step. I would also consider resetting the wifi network password. Sometimes that will allow a connection.

HT201303 Random Apple id password resets - how to stop this?

A couple of months ago I started getting emails from Apple titled "How to reset your Apple Id password" and then more worryingly "Your Apple Id password has been reset". This happened several times over the next few days and I know this was not done by accident from me or my family because it was happening during the night UK time. I reported to Apple support and they were no help, in fact they deactivated my account until I told them to reactivate it again!
To me it seems like someone (or some system) is triggering the password reset online when trying to access my account.
After reporting it to Apple it stopped for a couple of months - now it started again! Several random resets during the night and day when I know no-one could be doing this from one of my devices.
Has this happened to anyone else? Any good ideas how to stop it? Any way to disable email authentication on the password reset and restrict to only the personal data questions?

Random Slow Requests that CFTrace Can't Find

Description:
I am troubleshooting some slow loading pages and have been getting some interesting and inconsistent results. I'd like some help on how to better troubleshoot the problem, so that I can fix it. I started by looking at database query times, but have ruled it out. Next, I added numerous trace elements to the page in question to see where the slowness is occurring. To my dismay, the slowness occurs only sometimes and at different points in my traces. I'm confused by the results. What can I do to isolate where the problem is happening?
I've renamed my files and traces for anonymity. There is quite a lot of logic happening in the pages I'm running.
Below is some information about my setup. I've added a "Total DB Time" to the standard CF debugging page to try and prove that this is not a slow running database request. The examples below were taken from my local machine with nothing else running on it. I clicked refresh on the same page several dozen times and copied a few of the more interesting results. In reality, the results are very random in appearance. Sometimes I'll get a dozen refreshes that are under 500ms, and sometimes it seems like every request is over 4000ms. Check out the total db time and the trace times.
Information:
- Coldfusion 9 (all hot fixes and updates applied)
- JRUN
- Default JRE Version
- Windows 7
- Apache
- MySQL
What I have tried without any success:
- Running the code on numerous computers (at least 5 other computers confirming the same results)
- Running it on different java versions
- Running it on Coldfusion 7 MX
- Running CF on JBoss instead of Jrun
- Enabling and disabling all database caching
- Enabling and disabling trusted cache
- Setting a really high or low total cached query value
- Enabling and disabling white space management
- Changing the MySQL JDBC driver
