Random restarts, Software malfunction? Error message.

Hi everyone!
I would like to ask for your help. My MacBook Pro started the have a malfunction about 1 month ago.
It has been randomly restarting by itself. As you can imagine this can be very annoying when you are working on your projects.... (saving every second)
So basically I brought my mbp to an apple store where they ran all the hardware tests. They said it was the Hard Drive so I bought a brand new hdd and replaced it by myself, reinstalled the system (mountain lion) without a problem. BUT A day after, when I fully copied al my documents from the hard drive I had before (wasn't damaged physically) the restarting started again.
I would highly appreciate if anyone could advise me what to do... since I changed the hard drive and apple said there are no hardware problems.
After all the restarts (there were a lot) I always got an error message which is the following:

Hi, thank you. I brought my computer to an apple store genius bar already and they said there is no hardware problem.
They said, they have no personnel to read the kernel panic... I'm in France.
Then you went to a store that does not seem to have qualified personnel.  This is the extract from the kernel panic report that clearly indicates the GPU issue:
Whether your HDD has a problem is a separate issue, but there is no indication here that there is a HDD problem.

While using my Ipod Touch with a Sony Sound dock, it randomly gives me an error message - "incompatible."  It honestly worked perfectly for an hour, then suddenly stopped being compatible?  Any ideas out there? I have:
    started, restarted.
    Plugged, unplugged.
Tried dock with a different ipod- worked fine.
    Help!

It's a Touch, not a phone, so not sure how to answer if it's a 4G... sorry:)
Inspection doesn't yield anything obvious;  I've tried a soft toothbrush and air duster spray, to no avail...
The Ipod touch does work on another device;  I'm still trying to figure out why it worked for several hours this morning, then get the message that "this device is not supported by this Ipod."   Wierd.

  • After software updates - error message-  system extensions are not valid

Every time now after installing SL, when apple update installs new software, an error message comes up - system extensions not valid, reinstall or ask the system administrator. it then goes through each extension that is wrong. it appears a lot of them are from oct 2007. What do I do about this?

here are the extensions: most of them that sya are installed incorrectly

  • "Updater Software Busy" Error message when restoring

    Hello.
My week-old 80GB classic began acting up and asked me to restore with iTunes. When connected, it promptly downloaded the 1.0.2 update. (about which I've heard so many "wonderful" things... ) Anyway, after entering my admin password, it extracts the package and attempts to restore the iPod. After a couple of minutes, however, it displays the error message:
"The iPod "iPod" could not be restored because the updater software is busy"
I've tried all the usual restarting the Mac, booting the iPod in disk mode, and resetting the iPod, but to no avail.
Oh, have just tried downloading the 1.0.1 update (downdate?) and this produces the even more worrying error that the "Firmware could not be found".
I'm sure I'm still covered by the warranty (I am, right?) But, nevertheless, if there is some fix that I haven't tried, I'd greatly appreciate any advice.
    Thanks a lot,
    Adam

I am trying to restore an old iPod, but when I do it says error can not be restored because updater software is busy and then....
What is the exact error message?

  • HP Envy 15 shut down randomly during usage, no error messages, no overheating

    hi,
I bought my HP Envy 15 only in July and 3 days ago it started shutting down randomly! I would be using my computer or the computer would be turned on, then it suddenly would shut down by itself. When I start it back up again I don't get any error messages so I can't figure out what's going on. This has happened 5 times within the past 3 days. The last time it happened, I was browsing a website and then the computer just shut down with a clicking sound! Overheating is not a problem because the computer is barely lukewarm and I'm not running any softwares. PLEASE HELP!!!

    Hi @newhpuser2014 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY 15 and just randomly starting to shut down.
I recommend to do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook. I would suggest a date of just over a week before the issue started.
When performing a System restore please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices as they can cause issues.
    Thanks.

  • Random 200141 and 200019 error messages -

    Hi,
I have a new problem with an old code which is a random failing mid-run stating error 200141 or 200019. The code (in LabView 8.2) calculates engine speed from the pulses of an encoder, and takes pressure readings at each encoder point, with PCI-6143 board and SCB-68 connector block. A few weeks ago this would run fine for 10 minutes plus but has recently started coming up with these error codes mid run more and more frequently. The error messages seem to be related to too samples being processed with not enough time to do so - but does not occur with any relation to the frequency of acquisitions (engine speed), but to occur randomly. I have watched the CPU in task manager as the program runs, but it only uses about 2% of CPU (except for the start which uses about 10%).
Because of the random nature of these errors, and the fact that this program used to work ok (at even higher acquisition rates), I can only think that there must be something wrong with the operating system which is limiting the access of the program to CPU - perhaps a virus that my antivirus software has not picked up. I have already tried re-installing LabView and DAQmax, but to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas as to what else may be causing this - a fault with the encoder perhaps? Or how I would be able to check this? - I am a bit unenthusiastic about wiping and re-installing the whole operating system, especially if it may not help, but I cannot think of any other options at the moment.
Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Henry,
Error -200019 is a hardware error that occurs if two clock edges occur too quickly.  For example, the 6143 has a maximum clock rate of 250 kHz.  As you increase the sample clock rate higher than 250 kHz, you would eventually see this error message.
Assuming your external clock rate is indeed under 250 kHz, the most likely cause of this error would be noise on your input line causing multiple clock edges to be picked up by the board in quick succession during a single transition.  The likely remedy would be to use an external Schmitt Trigger.  I should also point out that later generations of DAQ hardware have digital filtering available on the PFI lines that could also be used to solve the problem--unfortunately the feature is not present on the 6143.
Error -200141 is also a hardware error, indicating that the data is overwritten on the board before it can be transferred to your computer.
What is the rate that you are trying to sample your counter?  It's possible that noise on the clock line could cause this problem as well, especially if the behavior seems to occur randomly.  The other possibility is that your external sample clock is too fast, and a slight delay in the data transfer could cause the value that was previously sampled to be overwritten.  This is a fairly common error for high rate counter measurements on
hardware released before on-board FIFOs were added for counters.  For example, X
Series and 2nd Generation cDAQ both have on-board counter FIFOs.
To summarize, it sounds like you probably need external conditioning to prevent duplicate edges from being detected by the DAQ board.

Lately when I've tried to update the software on my phone, the software will download to my computer and at the very end an error message will pop up saying that the network connecton timed out, even though I was on the internet still.  I have then tried again only to get the same results.  What can I do to stop this from happening?

  • Randomly occurring Disk Insertion error message

Running a mac mini with 10.5.4 I seem to get a randomly occurring error message "Disk Insertion - The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" with choices to "Initialize" or "Eject". The weirdness is that the message seems to pop up at random intervals when I haven't attempted to insert a disk.
Mac mini 10.5.4 with 500GB external hard drive

I got this exact same message with my old Mini. It stopped as soon as I disconnected my iPod Shuffle. Haven't got round to figuring out how to fix it yet.

  • Reload Software 552 Error message work around

I'm desperate.. and climbing out of my skin
The long and the short of it: I have an 8520 and I got an error message of 'Relooad Software 552', but I can't get it to load
I was able to tether the phone and get into the Application Loader, even though the PIN doesn't display on the Desktop Manager (5.0.0.8)
I tried doing it with the Add/Remove Applications and with the Update Software. It gets through the first two phases, then it just hangs up
I tried calling T-Mobile, who put me in touch with BlackBerry... sorry, but I don't have a lot of confidence with the people over the phone. It doesn't help that they try to talk down to me.....
    No matter, it's not working
On my old phone, the BB Pearl 8220, a tecnican was trying to do something back door, where we went into the files on my hard drive and used a Loader there (?).
    Can someone maybe help me?
If I could get the phone to work, I would be willing to keep this handset and not bother with the new handset that BB is sending to me.
I want this to work. I NEED my phone. I'm inconvenienced with a loaner phone (no bells/whistles... yuck)
    Any one?
([email protected]  although I can't see the responses so quickly as there is no email on this loaner phone)

  • HP Officejet J5780 AIO - Software Installation error message with OS Win7

During a Full Version software installation (from HP web site) at the point of "Device Installation" the message "Fatal error " popped up followed by the immediate uninstallation of "unecessary components". The procedure reinstalled data to completion. All desktop icons were present including "HP Support Assistant" and "HP Print and Scan Doctor".
On clicking the icon "HP Solution Center (SC))" to access all features of the software the following message popped up "HP SC cannot run because your  device installation is not complete." This message then directs me to the START button to access a solution via the HP HELP and SUPPORT. I did not find the solution there.
Ironically other laptops in the family can connect to the printer (USB connection) and be able to access the full features of the software.
My laptop had an earlier version of the printer software prior to me attempting to reinstall.
HELP please!!!!! How can I get my laptop to complete installation by configuring the printer device.

    Hi,
I will certainly study and try your suggested solution. Another non-HP "HELP" said that my system has corrupted Registry and Software files that are infectious and suggested that I use their Unlimited Software and Technical Support to clean up my corrupted files. They also advised me not to back up my files on external storage devices as these would, in turn, become infected/corrupted.
I then decided to join the HP Forum as I couldn't access online help direct from HP.
You will hear from me soon.
    Regards

  • Software Update error message

I'm running Panther 10.3.9 and when I did the Security Update this morning, after the restart I got an error message that said: System extension cannot be used. The system extension
"/System/Library/Extensions/dfe530txp.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it or contact the product's vendor for an update.
That's happened almost every time I did the security update for months, but I didn't know what it meant or what to do about it so I've ignored it until now.
However, I have my new Tiger disks and I want to update from Panther to Tiger today and thought if this had to be addressed first I'd better ask about it. Perhaps updating to Tiger will take care of it?
Also should I run disk utility on my 10.3.9 first?
I will ask some questions about actually installing my Tiger in separate questions But should I be asking the update installation questions in the 10.3.9 section or the 10.4.6 section?
I'm no whiz kid and really don't want to goof things up.

Well Cornelius - how I wish I had listened to you. Upshot of a long afternoon, including 2-1/2 hrs on phone with applecare is that I cannot open my OS X. The last thing I did at their suggestion was an archive and install again - but they of course were closing and couldn't stay on the phone until it got thru. They gave me a case number and I'll be calling them again tomorrow because the 2nd install was like the first. It wouldn't open.
What happened is that everything appeared to be going well. The install checked the install disk. It checked my target disk. It did the easy install as I'd said. It got through, the little blue bar was full, it said it would restart in 30 seconds - or some such. I saw the restart button. It was pulsating. The screen went black, came back on with it's bong. But then there was no "ping" that I usually here. Got a gray screen - first with an apple in the center and the little cog wheel under it going round and round. Then the apple changed to a circle with a line thru it. It kept going and going and going - - nowhere - for 15 minutes I kept my fingers crossed.
I gave up and called them. Went from person to person to person (two segments of 15 minutes wait in between the first two). The third person had me:
Turn off the power to the computer. Turn it back on. Nothing different.
Unplug everything from the back of the computer. ethernet cords, usbs, firewire, monitor, hub - everything. Waited a minute and plugged it all back in.
Tried starting with holding down the apple option P R.
Tried starting holding down just the option.
Turned it off again and turned off the power for awhile. Started it again and my gosh - it started up in OS 9! I haven't been in there forever. I went under the apple to control panel to startup disk. The os 9, os X (which did at that point show version 10.4.6), ox X install disk. I selected my OS X and hit restart.
It restarted - and did the same thing.
At one point - don't remember what we did before that, the three icons were up together. Two arrows under them - one kind of in a circle, the other pointing straight to the right. The install icon and os 9 icon were light. The os X had a dark background. Tried to click on it. Nothing. Tried to click on the os x install disk - it turned dark and my x turned light.... until I clicked on it again at which time they reversed.
Shut down again and started up from the install disk holding down the C. He had me pull up the disk utility - was able to highlight my OS X and run repair disk. It came up needing no repair.
That's when he said to try the install again. Went through it all. Everything was the same - got to the restart countdown. It restarted with a bong and then again the gray circle with the line thru it and the cog wheel going round and round and round.
They did give me a case number so I can call back again tomorrow but I really don't know what could be left to do. Pretty scared here.
Also am going to need my new printer hooked up. Planned on hooking it up to my G4 because my macbook can print thru the wireless network. My G4 does not have wireless capabilities so I don't think I'll be able to print from it (assuming I get it running again) if I have the printer hooked up to my macbook - or my netgear router... not really sure where I'm supposed to hook it up if not to my G4.
I did transfer a couple of my applications from my external hd to this one - one of them being my Eudora (which I actually had already installed on this one I think) - just to try it - and you're right it didn't work. Just a little needle wiggling back and forth.
Guess tomorrow's another day.. but if you have any thoughts on anything to try they didn't bring up - would appreciate hearing them. Oh yeah - my install dvd is still in the drive of course. Can't get the door open with the button even when I turn the computer on. The eject key on the keyboard won't work either.
I did notice somewhere along the way that my available GB on my OS X is now down to somewhere under 5, while it was just under 10 GB to begin with. The dang new systen has to be on there just like the Version number said. But it won't open.
You told me something could happen. Wish I'd listened.
Should I be putting this on a new thread?
