Random sound files play

Recently, when changing tabs on Firefox, random sound files play. They sounded like PCH sound files so I contacted them. Their support team confirmed that this is a known bug and "would be fixed soon". I can find nothing on the web but few people would associate random Firefox sound files playing with a PCH infection anyway. I want to get rid of them now. Any solutions?
Windows 8.1, HP Pavilion laptop using Firefox.

PCH installed the file in FlashPlayer.
Clearing Flash Cache killed the file and the problem.
Here are the directions for doing that:
If you are using a Windows machine running Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari:
Click the "Start" button located in the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
Windows 8 means a treasure hunt, or Cursor to top right corner, Settings, Control Panel
Click on "Control Panel" (or depending on your system setup, "Settings" and then "Control Panel").
Click on "Flash Player" (or "System and Security" and then "Flash Player").
Click on the "Advanced" tab located along the top of the "Flash Player Settings Manager".
Ensure the latest version of flash player is installed (click "check now" to verify which version you have installed).
Click the "Delete All..." button located at the top of the "Advanced" section of the "Flash Player Settings Manager".
Ensure that there is a checkmark beside the "Delete All Site Data And Settings" option.
(IMPORTANT: leave the "Delete All Audio and Video License Files" option UNCHECKED).
Next, click the "Delete Data" button located in the bottom right hand corner of this window.
Close the "Flash Player Settings Manager".
Close the "Control Panel".
Restart your browser
If you are using Google Chrome please follow the below instructions:
Click on the following link to navigate to Adobe's online Flash Player Settings Manager.
Click on the "Delete all sites" button.
Restart your browser.
To clear the Flash Player cache on a Mac, please follow these steps:
Close your web browser.
Click on the Apple logo in the upper, right-hand corner of your screen and choose "System Preferences"
Click on the "Flash Player" icon near the bottom of the System Preferences window.
Under the "Storage" tab, click on the "Delete All" button.
On the next window, make sure the "Delete All Site Data and Settings" option is selected and unselect the "Delete All Audio and Video License Files" option.
Click the "Delete Data" button.
Close the System Preferences window.

  • Random audio file playing

Hi!  I've been having random audio files playing on my RAZR.  It sounds like a video that automatically starts playing on websites.  However, I'm not on the browser, have windows open, or even using the phone.  I unlock the phone and there's nothing in the notification bar.  No apps are open on the home screen.
My Alarm Clock Plus app will sometimes play an alarm after I've turned it off.  Because there's nothing in the notification bar to stop the music, I have to shut down my phone to stop it.  This may be an app bug but has anyone had random audio files playing?

        Hi Es80
It sounds like that phone is possessed! Let's get this fixed! It sounds like it may be an application error. Please power the device on in safe mode and retest. Here's how:http://bit.ly/QfA8MZ
Please let me know if the issues persists.

  • Sound file plays automatically...

    Hello,
Can someone please direct me on how to prevent my sound file from playing when the page it's on is loaded?
I dragged a sound file from my finder into my keynote. It appears as an icon that looks like a speaker. It's fully functional, everything works great. However, the problem is that the audio file starts playing the moment the page is loaded.
I want to be able to play the audio file manually after I have verbally presented the page.
Help would be incredibly appreciated. This is my first presentation, ever, with Keynote. It's the only kink I've experienced, so far.
    Thank you so much,
    YahYah

Select your first audio clip you want to play and then in the Inspector>Build Tab (third tab from left) under Build In>Effect, select Start Audio. Click the button on the bottom that says More Options make sure the Start Build is set to On Click (this is the default, so you shouldn't have to worry about that). Now your first clip won't start until you click.
Then to make sure that they don't all play at once. Select your first clip again and add a Build Out that happens Automatically after build 1 to Stop Audio and set the delay so that it is the length of the clip. +This is where things can get a little tricky as you can only add a delay of 60 seconds. So if you clip is 90 seconds, you need to add a transparent shape or empty text box that you can add builds and actions to to makeup the extra 30 seconds.+ Finally select your second clip and add a Build In to Start Audio Automatically with build 2.
If you have multiple audio clips that you want to play back to back, it may be easiest to importing them into GarageBand and making one audio clip out of them.
    Hope this helps

  • Streaming Sound File Playing Early

I'm creating a presentation in Flash v8. It's the very same
presentation I created in v5 last month but now I'm recreating it
from scratch in v8 and something's happening now that didn't happen
    then.
It's a simple Flash document with multiple scenes and no
Actionscript. I'm starting a new .wav sound file (narration) at the
start of each scene. When I play each scene individually in the
Flash environment, the sound synchs fine with the events in the
presentation. But when I run the presentation as a .swf or .exe,
the sound file on scene 2 begins playing before scene 1 has
finished playing. The sound file from scene 3 begins playing before
scene 2 has finished, etc. This didn't happen in the same
presenation I created in v5. Is there something new that I haven't
    figured out yet?

Its doing this to me too....
Same thing - a series of scenes - each with sound streamed on
    its own layer.
as soon as one sound ends, the next scene's sounds starts -
The sounds are synched correctly in edit mode - its just when
    I play the SWFs.
I'm publishing a MENU movie as a projector - this menu calls
    the other SWFs.

  • Why won't my sound files play in preview?

I have created a Keynote slideshow for a new course on an iMac, and I am trying to preview it in iTunes U on an iPad. For each slide of the show I imported a sound file of my lecture, which I recorded in Garageband. When I open iTunes U on my iPad, I find the course just fine. Then I find the new POSTS and click on one of them. The slide show opens nicely on the iPad, but there is no sound and no sound on-off button.
Where did my sound files go? How do I access them on iTunes U?
    Thanks for the help.

Nobody has a clue about this?
If not, does anybody know where I can get an answer?
    Thanks,

  • Random Sound Files

    Hi,
From time to time I run into a problem: A given slide will
use the audio from another slide. As an example, here is what I ran
into last night. When I played the soundtrack for Slide Two in the
edit mode, all was well. When I previewed it (F12), I got the sound
    from slide 8.
    I then tried the following:
    1) Deleted the sound track from Slide 2, saved, then F6'd the
sound track for Slide 2 back in. This time when I ran the preview,
it pulled the sound from Slide 11.
    2) I then deleted the sound track from Slide 2, duplicated
the slide, deleted the original slide and F6'ed the soundtrack back
in. This time when I ran the preview it pulled the sound track from
    slide 44.
    3) I deleted the slide completely, rebuilt it from scratch
and F6'ed the sound. This time it worked fine.
I have run into this problem before and #3 always works.
Unfortunately the slide last night was a son of a gun to rebuild.
Does anyone know how to prevent this problem or fix it in another
    way than deleting the slide?
    BTW, I am using Captivate 3 w/ Flash 10.
    Thanks!
    Gary

Those are sounds that come bundled with the iLife suite (iMovie, Garageband, etc.) They're nothing to worry about.

  • Xperia T2 Music/Sound file player pause randomly

I had posted about this problem a couple of weeks ago and thought it was fixed by factory reset. But the problem came back within a few days. The issue I am having is that sound files played throught the headphones would pause randomly then restart within a few seconds (regardless of which app I am using to play the music/podcast sound file).  The problem began after updating to Lollipop, never had problem with KitKat. I have wiped the SD card, factory reset the phone and use the repair option on PC Companion multiple times, same problem.

I've been having the same problem here, except it's worse. Never had any trouble before with KitKat / Walkman player. After updating to Lollipop / Music, music started to randomly pause, then resume after about 3 seconds. This pause is not shown as pause/play by the player, it seems as it never stopped playing, only the progress bar stops moving. Also even worse than this, I've been experiencing sound distortion, like if my music was extremely low quality, sound stuttering and all. It happens randomly, and gets better and worse over time. Normally it stops for a while when I reset the device. I've tried Sony Music player and also a 3rd party Neutron player, which offers a lot of features to improve playback. Sure enough, it improves sound quality noticeably, but unfortunately after a while the same problem appears. I may be mistaken, but when using the Neutron player, it seems sound quality degrades continuously up to a point where playback stops, then when it resumes, sound quality seems back to normal. This problem seemed to happen only with earphones plugged, but lately I've been noticing distortion of ringtones to, could be just my imagination, though. I've also done a factory reset last week, through the Sony PC Companion on my PC, but it didn't solve the issue. I haven't yet tried to format my SD card, maybe I'll try that as a last resort. The earphones are the same from before Lollipop, a pair of decent shure monitors. All media being played is stored in the exact same location and exact same SD card, which is a sandisk ultra 32 GB class 10 / HC1. All of this seem to point at some kind of software problem related to Lollipop...

  • How do I lower sound file volume during video play?

I have a Flash CS4 project with sound that starts to play in the first scene, set to event/loop so that it plays all through the entire time.
But I have a piece of video with audio in another scene and I would like to have the sound file playing at a lower volume while the video is playing, then get it to return to normal volume when the video is over.
I have no actionscript at this point. Just timeline animations, etc.
Anyone  have an idea how I could accomplish this?
    Thanks!

Thank you for this, but unfortunately, I don't think this quite does what I am aiming for.
    1) Now the file is in AS3.
    2) I have one audio file making background music throughout the entire file.
    3) The video comes in at a later scene.
    4) I want to lower the volume of the background music file while the video is playing, then get it to normal volume after the video.
    Thanks for your help.

  • After import to iTunes 11.1, audio file plays -6db quieter - sound check off

when importing any .aiff into my MBP running 10.8.5,  any sound file plays correctly when played via Quicktime Pro or using the 10.8 (spacebar) preview function.
When imported into the new iTunes 11.1 application, sounds play (I would roughly estimate) -6db quieter than when not played via this app.
Sound Check / Sound Enhancer functions are NOT on....
Anybody else experience this glitch / know the reason why ?

I'm having the same exact experience.  It worked fine up until the 11.1 update, and then it just ceased to work.
I used to get a pop up window saying initializing or something of that sort, then if the video wasn't the right encoding, it would stop.  If it was the right encoding, the video would then move to the top center of ribbon with a progress bar for the import.  I've tried drag and drop, and also going to File -> Add File to Library.  Neither methods work.  I've even tried adding an entire folder to the library, and still nothing.
Is this an intentional act on behalf of Apple or a bug?

  • How can I use a sound file on one slide, which fades to another sound file on the next?

I am trying to make a slide show that begins with a certain sound file, which then I hope to fade out to the second slide which uses a different sound file, I've followed Apple's online tutorials, but what happens is I get two sound files playing simultaneously. Also, I'd like to add sounds files to different individual slides throughout the presentation, which I want to play independently from the entire slide show's sound track. I have programmed the slides to change automatically. Is there any way I can have multiple sound files on multiple slides all playing independently, without playing over the top of the previous sound file? I imagine this is a simply task, so my apologies if this is the case. Thanks in advance for any help!
    kind regards,

Getting sound to work right in Keynote requires a basic understanding that:
    1. Sound played during slide transitions (from one slide to the next) must be placed in the Document Inspector > Audio > Soundtrack Well - there can only be one audio file and it plays across all slides
    2. Additional sounds files can be placed on individual slides as sound objects - each object can have build-in and build-out assignments, but sound files need at least a Build-In > Start Audio (done in the Build Inspector) - each object, wether a shape, image, sound or movie can have discrete start timing such that the start of one sound object can be delayed X seconds after the previous event. This can be used to avoid overlapping starts or playing. If you know the length of each sound file object, you can adjust the start to occur after the end of a previous sound using the Build Inspector. Click on the More Options Button to display the event build-order list and click on the event to reveal how the build starts and add any delays to start there.
    3. Keynote does not have a Fade Feature - any fade-in or fade-out (sound up/sound down) of audio files must be done to the sound file using third party applications and then brought into Keynote. If you'd like to join the crowd wishing Apple might add this feature in the future, you can provide feedback to Apple here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
    4. If you need an audio file to play across a few slides and another audio file to play across another few slides, break the presentation into seperate documents, place the audio in the soundtrack well for each document and then add a hyperlink object to connect to the next Keynote document in the series. Note: all files must be "opened" in the background and ready to play or else the next file will attempt to start but stall just when you don't need it to.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I "join" an mp4 sound file and a 'photo that I can upload  to YouTube?

    Thanks.

Drag the photo to your project timeline. Now drag the sound file directly onto the photo thumbnails - a green bar will appear under the thumbnails. You can drag this bar back and forwards to correctly position it.
Double-click on the photo to open the Inspector and change the duration to the length of your sound file. Finally, drag the end of the sound file to the end of the photo thumbnails, so that the full sound file plays in the project. Change the photo duration again if necessary.
If you click on the icon to the left of the Project thumbnail slider, the sound file waveforms will appear within the green bar. You can drag fade markers inwards at either end of the waveforms to create a fade in or fade out effect.

NOTE: I'm assuming that you are using iMovie '11, although similar procedures apply to iMovie '08 and '09 (with the main exception being waveforms).

  • Random sound ext

is there an extension that will load random sound files on
    page load?

Well I have one more suggestion:? I almost hear congestion or crackling in your recording. So here is something else for you to try:
if you go to device manager and then right click on your hard dri've, and choose properties, and policies, can you try to vary your "cache: settings? if you relax this setting by unchecking it, perhaps your hard dri've will not "read ahead" and then you will have smoother playback.
    Cheers,

  • Can sounds be played randomly?

    Hi All,
Is there a way to play sounds randomly when mail arrives, versus choosing only one sound? I have a bunch of hilarious alerts.
    Thanks,
    Dave

Not in Mail. Mail only plays one user-selected sound - the new mail sound. Mail only has three other sounds and they are embedded in the Mail application's Resources folder. You can physically replace these four sounds: New Mail, No Mail, Mail Sent, and Mail Fetch Error. They are all .aiff sound files. You can substitute your own four sounds by renaming them to the same names used in Mail, but you cannot have random sounds played.
Use whatever four sound files you want to be, respectively, New Mail.aiff, No Mail.aiff, Mail Sent.aiff, and Mail Fetch Error.aiff. Quit Mail if it's open. Select the Mail application and right-Click or CTRL-Click to display the contextual menu. Select "Show Package Contents" from the contextual menu. A window will open with q single folder named "Contents." Double-click to open Contents, then locate the folder named "Resources." Copy your custom sound files into the Resources folder. A dialog will appear asking if you want to Replace the existing files. Answer Replace to each. Close the window. Mail will now use your custom sounds in place of the default ones.
Note that if Mail is updated by any future system upgrade your custom sounds will be replaced by the originals, and you'll have to customize all over again. So don't lose your custom sound files.
