Random Turning Off
Currently, I am running a Mac OS X, Version 10.5.8
I got this Mac in August, 2009. Before now, it hasn't had any problems. However, in the past 2 days, it has randomly shut off twice. The battery will be around (or over) 60%, and has no reason to shut off. To turn the computer back on, I have to plug it into a power source and click the power button. When loaded, the battery percent is at 0.
I don't know what's going on, but it only recently started. Any help is appreciated.

Cycle count: 288
Condition: Check Battery
This means hardware failure. You full capacity is at less than half of what it should be, and the "check battery" is another clue. Call AppleCare or visit a Genius Bar and they should replace your battery for free under warranty.
Also: 288 cycles is a lot of cycles for 10 months of ownership--almost one full discharge-recharge cycle per day. You will get much better long-term performance from your battery if you stay plugged in as often as possible. Your battery is clearly defective--heavy use shouldn't cause the kind of bad numbers you have posted here--but be aware of your usage once you have a new one.

Thread title pretty much says it all.
Shortly after upgrading to iOS 5.1, my 1st gen iPad started randomly turning off when I wasn't using it.
-This has been occuring for over a month now.
-It has not yet turned off while I'm actually using it, only after I've left it along for awhile
-If I leave it plugged in, it doesn't turn off
-I have trouble turning it back on after this occurs. (I have to press/hold the button several times before it will finally turn on)
-I've noticed that a lot of the time when I turn it back on, it will initially (for a second or two) show a battery % that is lower than what it actually is (ex. it will show 72% when I turn it on but then jump up to 90% after a second or two)
Seems to me like it's something related to iOS 5.1 that my iPad doesn't like, likely a batter issue. Although having trouble turning it back on would lead me to believe it might be something more. It is an iPad 1 so maybe it's just getting up there in mileage.
Any suggestions on what to do? I neglected to take any backups. Unless someone gives me other input, I'm planning on taking a backup of my current iPad and then restoring to factory settings just to see if that will solve this issue. Although that's going to be a pain in the butt to get all my apps and everything back. If I restore to factory settings, is there any way I can "upgrade" the to iOS 5.0 (or anything below the latest)?No, you haven't lost anything. Simply sign into your iTunes account on the computer.

4 hours ago my iphone randomly turned off and now i cant get it to turn back on. Ive tried everything, trying to reset it, charging it but nothing works! the charging symbol doesnt even come up when i plugged in the charger. Please help!

Verify that the outlet being used is working.
Try another USB power adapter if available.
If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.
iPhone or iPod touch displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive
If you see the image below, charge the iPhone or iPod touch with USB power adapter for at least 15 minutes.
You should see this image when iPhone or iPod touch begins to charge:
If the screen still displays the low-battery icon, try turning the iPhone or iPod touch off and then on again.
If the issue persists, follow these troubleshooting steps.

My iphone randomly turned off out of nowhere. I was getting dressed, my phone was working one minute then literally the next it syopped now it wont charge i cant turn it on however the phone is on cause i called it and it rang. What to do? help please. I tried putting it in DFU mode but my lock button doesnt work and my phone wont charge so i cant connect to itunes
There is no reason to put it in DFU mode, a reset should work. Although, without a working power button it is not possible to reset the device.
Sounds like it is time to replace the damaged device. -
30 GB ipod randomly turns off.
I received a 30 GB ipod as a Christmas gift. At first it worked fine but a couple days ago it began to randomly turn off. I can turn it back on again but it continues to turn off on its own. Any suggestions ?
My 30 GB did this after I had added some music that I didn't purchase from the iTunes Store. Is this the case for you? Do you notice the iPod turning off when your listening to music that wasn't purchased from iTunes? If so, I just deleted the songs from the playlist and it never happened again. ~.~

I was on the phone last night and my phone randomly turned off. It will not come back on even when I have tried to hold the home button and the power button at the same time, while being plugged into the computer? What do I do?
Plug it into power for at least 15 minutes. If it doesn't automatically come on, try a reset... press the home and sleep (on/off) buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

my iphone 4 just randomly turned off whilst I was playing music. It wont turn back on. Ive plugged it into the computer and tried to charge it but nothing is happening. I have also tried this rest thing and it's not working. but I'm wondering if i was doing it right.. I was holding the power button at the top of my phone whilst pressing the home button (???) Only way is to bring it to the Apple Store and use the warranty if it hasn't expired

My iPhone randomly turns off by itself with battery remaining. I can turn it on the by hard restart. But sometimes it turns on at fifth, sixth, or more try. did anyone have this problem? and how can I fix it?
When my phone was off it wouldn't connect to iTunes, i got it working now though. I just had to hold my lock button and my home button down long enough. Thanks anyways though!

Toshiba Qosmio x775 Randomly Turns off and on itself.. PLEASE HELP!
Whenever I turn on my Laptop Toshiba Qosmio x775..it randomly turns off then turns on itself..sometimes for just 20-30mins or sometimes less than or sometimes in can run the for many hours..the problem is not with the Adapter because i try to put the battery and unplug the adapter and still it happens randomly..dunno whats the problem with this..
Mostly i researched..they said it's overheating..they said to check if the fan is full of dust something like that..but none of it works..I downloaded a program CoreTemp to check the Temperature for overheating issues..and it's only on 45-50 degrees..and that program has overheating protection to shutdown if it reaches 90 degrees..but in my case in does not reach that degree and still shuts down..hayy..need help badly..SO FAR SO GOOD FIX GUIDE-
If you own a Toshiba Qosmio laptop and you are having problems with it powering down for no reason, try this.
1) Unplug all the wires and remove battery
2) Hold down power button for 30 seconds
3) Plug everything back in and start it up
4) Hold F2 to enter boot menu
5) Go to the Advance Tab
6) Set Execute Disable Bit to Not Available
7) F10 to save and exit

My Mac book is randomly turning off.
Hi my Mac book is randomly turning off usually at a little bit under half battery. The computer is about two to three years old and I use it a lot. Why is it doing this and what should I do? I am taking it in to the apple store tomorrow. Around how much will it cost to get in.
An examination at the Apple store will not cost you anything. Be sure to make a reservation so you don't have to wait too long at the Genius Bar. If there is a repair required there may be a cost for that.
Have you tried resetting the System Management Controller? That would be the first step I would try for most power related issues.

My iPhone 3gs just randomly turned off and won't turn back on
I was just using my phone, and nothing happened. As of lately picture mail, and videos have been sending as a text message to other iPhone users even while connected to wifi. My phone just randomly turned off and won't turn back on. I just got it in July so its not very old and I have the hard protection case on it. Is there any way that I can reset it or something?

Tactic 3d Wrath wireless gaming headset randomly turns off
My headset recently turns off randomly for anywhere between a few seconds to a few minutes before turning itself back on. I have downloaded all the most recent drivers from support. I have tried disabling the headset and re-enabling the headset in my audio devices. i have tried disconecting the usb from my computer. Nothing i do seems to have any effect in anywhere on my device. It appears to be randomly turning off and on for various lengths of time.
*Upon further investigation, i have discovered that the problem is that my headset will not stay paired with the usb device. They randomly de-sync and start flashing before synching up again. I do not know how to make them stay paired.Any fix found ?
I know i have to keep plugging it back in multiple times and eventually it stays paired longer ... LOL

Iphone screen randomly turned off???
Hi, my iphone 4 randomly turned off a few hours ago, it is not being recognised on itunes and it won't charge at all. To make matters worse, the home button has been broken for several months. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
You're going to need a functioning home button in order to fix this. Take it to an Apple Store.

We have a PowerPC G5 which works perfectly fine (or was). We moved it to a different part of the office to be used by somebody else.
At the old location it was hooked up to 2 CRT LaCie monitors. At the new location it's hooked up to 2 LCD monitors.
While the editor is working, the monitors will randomly turn off for a few seconds, and then turn back on! There has been no system changes since the move, nor any new software installed (to my knowledge). On his old mac (a slower PowerPC G5), his 2 LCD monitors worked perfectly fine. Any idea what's going on?cheak your graphics card. I think I reading post that the ATI has overheating issues, expecially when dusty. I have a 2008 Mac Pro with the 2600, and have similar problems.

Samsung Gusto randomly turns off
I just bought a Samsung Gusto a couple weeks ago and it's randomly turning off by itself. I can't figure out any pattern...sometimes when i get it out or open it to see if i've gotten any messages it's turned off. This is really causing problems as I'm missing some important calls and messages - it's been very unreliable and it's driving me crazy. Has anyone else had this problem? If i go into a verizon store will they give me a replacement or are they all having this problem? Thanks.

Wow! No the Gusto shouldn't be shutting off like you described. I can't imagine how frustrating that situation would be for you. We definitely want to get this corrected immediately.
I've contacted Samsung and this is not a known issue with the Gusto. Is there any physical or water damage to the device? Please remove the battery and see is there any corrosion or buildup where the battery connects to the phone. Is the battery loose in the back compartment?
Please let me know so we can get this resolved promptly.
