Random zooming

ID CS6 on my new iMac with OSX 10.8.2 randomly zooms out while applying styles or sometimes when I use an InDeisg shortcut. Sometimes the screen suddenly zooms out to 75%, sometimes something like 15%... I seems to happen completely at random. Anyone knows what may be causing this? I checked all shortcut settings, also for other programs and the shortcuts from the system (which I all disabled) but the random zoom cahnges keep on coming...
Anyone has idea what's up...?

I am having the same after installing Lion OS 10.7.2 two days ago. Am not very happy with it till now.
Another thing is that i cannot control playoing /stopping of iTunes when the screensaver is displaying.
And the q in the skia font is missing.

  • Ken Burns default is "Zoom In" so why does it randomly "Zoom Out?"

I first noticed that the default zoom in was inexplicably and randomly reversing when I applied KB in one go to a bunch of selected stills.
Thinking that applying it to multiple images at once may be the cause, I tested it on a series of single photos.
    The results were similar.
Sometimes the first 3 or 4 would be OK and then random slides would start zooming out. Occasionally the zoom direction would reverse on alternate pictures.
Just in case there was something peculiar about the different clips, I duplicated one several times but still got the random zoom when I applied KB.
I use 2 ways of applying the KB effect to still images but they both give random zoom directions:-
The first method is to select KB using the Crop tool in the Viewer.
This image shows the correct default but the next 3 I selected were all reversed even though I did not touch the "Reverse" button at the top.
The other method is to select KB in the Inspector.
Could some of you try to replicate my random results by testing on at least 6 photos?
More importantly, can you give a reason or suggest a cure (other than telling me to manually adjust each image).

  • Safari randomly zooming in

Hi All. Since updating to Yosemite, Safari has been randomly zooming way in without me doing anything. Just now, I clicked on Google and the page opened in the zoom. I disabled smart zoom for the touch pad in case that was it. Nope and the random zoom is much greater. Was happening frequently last week and then stopped for a few days. Now its back. Curious if anyone else has had this issue. Not a big problem, just annoying. I have a late 2013 Macbook Pro.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

Since updating to ios7 my ipad freezes, randomly zooms in and out, black pages that take forever to load and battery charge doesn't last very long. It's very frustrating, is there anything I can do it seems to have a mind of its own

    (A) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
    (B) Reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings will be reset.

  • Random zooming and scrolling

My system will randomly zoom and or scroll. This is not in Safari – it happens in Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects. Zooming seems totally unpredicatable. Scrolling – that is suddenly I'm being scrolled to somewhere way off to the side of my page, happens mostly when I'm dragging items around – usually when also holding shift or otherwise using smart guides for precise placement. Also often when I release them these items will suddenly jump to somewhere else. I use a Magic Mouse – Every single mouse click / scroll / zoom / swipe / click-somewhere-you-never-thought-of-on-the-mouse / swipe-with-11-fingers feature I can lay my hands on has been turned off. It's annoying, frustrating and really just downright crappy. I expect better from my Apple products. Does anyone have any suggestions / fixes ? (ideally not 'get a corded mouse' ). Thanks.

Try another Mouse, even a cheap USB mouse... as a test.

  • Magic Mouse - random zooming

Does anyone have a random zooming in and out on the Magic Mouse? Not as in the Control+Scroll zoom, but like if you pinch and drag on something.
Occasionally my mouse decides to do this, which a)would be great if I could actually pinch and zoom and b) is really distracting when it happens by itself.
    Any ideas?

Magic mouse activates the 'scroll wheel zoom' when you touch the mouse almost anywhere. I found it too annoying. Apple needs to update the software to recognize scrolling as a gesture. I hope Apple does an update, because right now I'm stuck with using a clunky but reliable Dell mouse, as my Mighty Mouse is also unreliable.

  • Pages Randomly Zoom to Random Levels

Just now it happened again: I switched to the next page in the document and the zoom level switched from zoom level Fit to Window (cmd-0) to 25% automatically. Another document which I set to 82% Zoom manually so that the design represents the 960 pixel wide design to be accurate on my screen – is switching regulary to 75% or 67,...%.
    Anyone experienced this?
    Mac OS X 10.8.2
    ID 8.0.1

It could but it is not configured to do so. I am not toching the
    touch/scroll wheel on the tablet.
I switch from page to page using the keyboard with Alt-Page Up/Down so at
that time the pen in my hand is too far away from the tablet to be able to
interact and I am not touching anything else but the keyboard. The buttons
    on the pen are disabled.
I'll downgrade the Wacom driver tomorrow, see if it helps. I will also try
to work with a mouse for a while to see if that helps.

  • Safari View Mode Problems - Zooms in and out randomly

My view mode in Safari 5.1.3 seems to zoom in or zoom out on its own. I have Mac OSX 10.7.3.
As I look at the tool bar on Safari now there is a white dot to the left of the word "View"
Has anyone else had this issue?
Any suggestions on how to prevent the random zooming?
    Many thanks

Do you have a Magic Mouse?
It could be you are just tapping that without realizing it, enabling the Zoom feature to go off and on.

  • A 1 pixel gap appears on webpage on the ipad or when zoomed on a Mac with Firefox 4

I'm having an issue with a website having a 1 pixel gap under various OS's and browsers.
    http://www.coffeeandcream.ca/
When viewed on an iPad it shows a 1 pixel gap on the right side of the link icons.  When you zoom on the iPad, the gap disappears and reappears at random zoom factors.
When viewed on my Mac Pro under Firefox (version 4) it is fine to start, but when zoomed, random images have the 1 pixel gap sometimes above and below or to the left or right or sometimes both above/below and left/right.
I'm not over worried about the behaviour of Firefox...since it is only when the page is zoomed.
When I view it on my Windows PC, I have no issue with the gap under Firefox 3 or 4, or IE.
Any thoughts on what is going on?
    Thanks in advance,

Have you thought of entering the following code at the very top of your CSS file?
                    margin: 0;
                    padding: 0;
                    border: 0;
This should reset the browser of your iPad and FF in Mac.  I use neither so I can't test it at my end.  the above code is not likely to affect any other standards compliant browsers.

  • Chrome zooms when scrolling

Don't know if anyone else has this problem, but scrolling down pages in chrome results in random zooming unless I'm using the very tip of my finger. Is there a fix for this?

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately it didn't work. Anyone else have this problem?

  • Smart Zoom Problem? Safari keeps zooming OUT.

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion, I've had a problem with Smart Zoom. Using a Magic Mouse, I'm aware that it's a double tap to zoom in and another to zoom out. I actually like this feature and use it frequently enough that I don't want to have to turn it off to solve my problem.
The issue is that pages seemingly randomly zoom OUT and the text becomes very small. I do not know what gesture is doing this and it happens ALL the time. If I double tap, it zooms in, but it is the enlarged zoom in, as if I had done it from the normal text size. I have to hit cmd+0 to get it back to normal. It's become very annoying and I can't seem to find any info on it; everything out there is about zooming in, not out.
    Thanks.
    Safari 6.0
    OS X 10.8.0

This is a definitely a problem and I've now not only noticed it happen on 2 macs but actually waited and monitored until I finally observed it happening WITHOUT ANY MOUSE CONTACT. Having now witnessed it in two different locations with two macs and two mice, it certainly isn't absent-minded tapping!!
I wonder if the mice have a static problem or are just oversensitive even to something coming near.
And btw this only started when I on one occasion upgraded to and on another bought Mountain Lion. It's quite random.

  • My iPad is zoomed in

Occasionally, an app will get very zoomed in and I cannot make it unzoom. At times, the regular screens are zoomed and I can't access any apps on the sides.  I do a hard reset and that usually makes it normal again, but not always.  Sometimes I have to do the hard reset once more to resolve the random zoom.
I do not have any of the accessibility features turned on, including zoom.   I do not have the gestures turned on either.
It seems to happen when I'm playing a game and I tap the screen. does anyone else have this issue?  How can I prevent this?

It is ok now. I double tapped with three fingers.  Zoom was on for some odd reason.  I had checked, and it was off.  I don't know how it got turned on.

  • Safari Zooms in for no reason

    Hello Internet,
I have a problem with my safari. For some reason, it randomly zooms in to the page. When you try to zoom out using the "pinch" gesture it will jump into the eagle view and shows everything that is open. You can further zoom in but can't zoom out to the actual size. You have to manually go to view --> actual size to zoom out. My friend has the same problem and we don't know what to do.
    Information:
I have Safari version 8.0 (10600.1.25) installed on Macbook pro which has a OS X Yosemite Version 10.10

Press the key combination option-command-8 to disable Zoom. If you're using an Apple wireless mouse, open the  Mouse pane in System Preferences and uncheck the box marked Smart zoom.

  • I'm running OX 10.8 and my screen spontaneously jumps to a large zoomed in picture.

I'm running OX 10.8 and quite often the view on my screen spontaneously jumps to a large zoomed in picture.  I don't know why it happens or how to get it back to normal.  It's not the "View - Zoom In/Out" that's the problem.  Might be in the mouse?

    You're welcome.
    "They both do it"
    Both exhibit this random zoom?
Can you log into another user account on either machine and test this.

  • 6710 browser constant zooming

i have a 6710 navigator phone. great specs but a lot of problems. i bought it at gsmweb.nl, never buy anything there! they sent me 3 broken phones in a row, i specifically pointed out the problems but they just kept sending me broken phones.
i'm stuck with a broken 6710 now, i refuse to keep sending phones and waiting for a month and receiving another broken phone.
Nokia, when will there be a firmware update that solves these problems:
    - keys not responding
    - random zooming
    - internet browser random zooming making it unusable

you will need to keep an eye on nokia software updater or subscribe to a service that notifies you of an update have you tried this already
another thing is your phone sim free as software updates can take longer if the phone is locked to a network
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.
