Range chart in SPC inspection

Hi Gurus,
How can implement range chart in SPC inspection? I can't find the range chart in the default chart of SAP QM module.My system version is R/3 46c SR2.

U meant iSPCChart Display Template with Range Chart Type? or Wat?
There is one type of Range Chart called <b>XBAR-RANGE</b> in the iSPCChart Display Template available in the 'Chart' DropDown List in General Tab
This type shows two charts,one - upper Chart(an XBAR) another - lower chart(a Range). A range chart plots the range of the characteristic values within the subgroup (Requires a subgroup greater than 1)

Problem in XBAR-RANGE Chart

Hi All,
I had created a XBAR-RANGE Chart which is showing the BAR chart in upper chart and RANGE chart in lower chart correctly. But the problem is that it is always missing a point in the bottom chart.For Ex: If there are 10 points in upper BAR chart, it is missing the 1st point and showing the remaining 9 corresponding points in the Lower RANGE Chart. Please provide the reason for happening so and the necessary modifications to be done.

Number of points plotted would depend on the SubGroup size and the Sample Size you mention in your chart.
Check those parameters.
Then take a look @ the data details of your chart. May be that might give you a clue.
Also look @ note number 1027407 , because if you are on a lower 11.5 version then your issue was fixed with 11.5.3.

Plot all rows on range chart

Hi, I create a range chart and on my axis I have the task and for the values I have starttime with top value starttime and bottom value endtime. It works, but I only see the first row for process file task it 8:00 - 8:15 and for export file its 9:00
- 9:15. I want to plot all the rows for task. Any suggestions?
Task Starttime endtime
Process file 8:00         8:15
Process file 8:30        8:45
Process file 9:30        10:00
Process file 10:30 11:00
Export file 9:00 9:30
Export file 11:15 11:45

Hi LISA86,
According to your description, you want to plot all rows in a range chart.
In your scenario, you could create a range bar chart. Then specify the Top value as starttime and Bottom value as endtime. Then set the Minimums, Maximums, Intervals and Interval Types for Horizontal Axis Properties. Please refer to screenshots below:

Ranged chart

Hey...
I'm making a small application where employees can put there vacation and get a grafical view with a chart.
Thought that a horizontal ranged chart would be usable showing that, with the dates on the x-Axis and the employees along the y-axis.
But I have problemes with my sql and can't find any information wether a ranged chart kan have 2 intervals on the same person in the same view (e.g. a employe having 3 days vacation, comes back for work a day and then have another 3 days vacation) ?
Perhaps ranged chart can't use dates as values because I have this error in my sql (or perhaps its my sql abilities :). In sql below for the horizontal ranged chartquery I have tried to convert the dates to chars and have also tried without convering. None of them seems to work.
select null, ferie_medarb_init, to_char(ferie_periode_start,'dd-mm-yyyy'), to_char(ferie_periode_****, 'dd-mm-yyyy') from ferie_periode
Does anyone have any suggestion on how I can make it either with the ranged chart or in any other way ?

There is no "trick", we're just victims of the limitation that WebI has in portraying XYZ type charts to our better liking. I submitted a request to Business Objects Tech Support in Oct 2006 and became the proud holder of two ADAPTs:
ADAPT00676587 u2013 for the scaling issueADAPT00676609 u2013 for the stacked bar chart, line graph issue
When fully implemented, the scaling for Y and Z should be able to correspond to each other. For instance, max value of Y and max value of Z will set on both scales the same max value. I don't discourage you from submitting a trouble-ticket, perhaps if they get more noise on this situation they'll resolve my (our) ADPAT sooner, but just hoping....

Number Range for '01' type inspection lot

Dear QM gurus,
Inspection lot numebr getting increment by two instead one when doing GR against purchase order, please guide.

It is impossible in SAP standard because the inspeciton lot origin can have one number range only.
You can check why it is impossible in configuration.
Customizing > Quality Management > Quality Inspection > Inspection Lot Creation > Maintain Inspection Lot Origins and Assign Inspection Types

If there are only those three fields in the database, the first question couldn’t be solved as per my understanding. As to other questions, we can use the following method to fix them.
Click the StartDate value in the Values pane, set DrawSideBySide property to False under the CustomAttributes section in the Properties Windows. Then the two ranges in same group can be stay in the same level.
Right-click the StartDate1 value in the Values pane, modify the top and bottom values as below:
Top value: =IIF(Fields!Start_Date.Value=Last(Fields!Start_Date.Value),NOTHING,Last(Fields!Start_Date.Value))
Bottom value: =IIF(Fields!End_Date.Value=LAST(Fields!End_Date.Value),NOTHING,LAST(Fields!End_Date.Value))
Then it can fix the second issue you occurred.
If there is another field named task in the database, then we can refer to the following steps to achieve your all requirement:
Add Start_Date field in the Values pane as below:
Top value: [Start_Date] Bottom value: [End_Date]
Add Name field to Category Groups pane.
Add task field to Category Groups pane.
Click the Start_Date value in the Values pane, set DrawSideBySide property to False under the CustomAttributes section in the Properties Windows.

How to see Control chart for a specific date range in QGC3

Hi
I am developing SPC for my client.I am facing one problem.
I am using one control chart for all inspection lot for a particular MIC.Free inspection point is used in inspection plan.
Control chart is used 516.(XMR chart)
Now when i am calling control chart for MIC executing QGC3,chart is showing results since creation chart date to todays date.
Now if i want to see chart for a particular period or date range,what is the procedure.

Issue with displaying QM control chart for specific date range

Dear All
In our chemical mfg organisation, we just implemented SAP QM solution and things are working fine. I have implemented control chart functionalities as below:
SPC Criteria in Inspection Plan: Task List Charateristics / Material (0020)
Sampling Procedure: Fixed Sample / SPC Inspection (without inspection point)
We use process orders to get the inspection lots for products (material) and record results for the MICs and UD the inspection lots.
Currently all our Control Chart have status 1 (created) and we have not moved any of those charts to status 3 and 5 yet.
Using QGC1 when user trying to run control chart for any particular material in the plant and for a specific date range, report showing all the charts for that material with different MICs as expected. Though the result is NOT restricted to the selection dates either against "Lot Created On" or " Insp. Start Date" ( may be due to SPC criteria????) , its always showing all the result for any particular MIC for that material starting from go live till today.
How to restrict the dispaly of result on the chart for any particular MIC against the Material / Plant within a specific date range ?

SPC Chart step by step procedure

Dear All,
We are implementing SAP in one automobile industry, now they r using SPC for Inprocess Analysis. Suppose If production going for 10 hrs every 2 hrsd once they taking 5 samles and recording in sheet. After that the weighted average of sample and range they ploting in SPC. So every month once they checking Graph.
Now Guide Me how to address this scenerio step by step procedure.
In sampling Procedure what Valuation Mode and Control chart type i hve to use ( Here lot of chart type available)?
In MIC what are all Prerequisites required.?
In Inspection for spc mic which spc criterion i have to choose?
Kindly explain me step by step procedure for this scenerio.
What are all configuration required for SPC Chart in background

Hi,
Here is the step by step procedure.
In MIC in the control indicators activate the indicator SPC characteristic.
in the sampling Procedure use valuation mode as SPC inspection as shown below and then assign the control chart type. What control chart type to be used it depends on the business or client requirement.
Now SPC criteria also depends on the business requirement. accordingly choose the required one in the inspection plan for MIC.
Normally configuration is not required much here.

Create sampling procedure with fixed sample and valuation mode as SPC inspection with free inpection point-tick.
Select suitable control chart type.
In MIC maintain-
lower limit,uper limit,target value,sampling procedure,spc characterictic,single result,fixed scope.
Assign this MiC to inspection plan.
After doing result recording,click control chart.

Control chart tolerance limits lines not shown

As Run chart displays values of Single result, SPC Control charts also Displays these reults with tolerance limit with Showing lines of uper and lower limit Tolerence. I have an issue while showing these lines .when i am doing result recording control charts Some times shows tolerance limit lines and some times not ? Kindly clarify me the SPC control chart process too?but my main question is that why SAP some times shows Results and sometimes not .
More over I already did all settings as below
Sapmling procedure with Fixed samples ,and SPC inspection crieteria,
Inspection plan -Inspection task list cahracterstics
MIC
      Sampling proceudre -active
      SPC - Active
      Required Chrac.-Active

We are using SPC inspection chars, in results recordin it is not calulating the control limits automatically. When i click to calculate the control limits, getting the message Control limits for track 1 could not be calculated.
Can you please let me know
1) The process flow for SPC inspection results recording
2) How to get the control limits automatically for SPC inspection chars.
3) System will require some results to calculate control limts, right? So, till system calculates those control limits, how system will valuate results (will it be with specificaiton limits specified at inspection characteristics level), do we have any option of entering preliminary results so that system can control limits on bases of those results and so from very first inspection lot we have control limits for valuation?

Control Chart Query

Dear Experts
As part of SAP QM Implementation we are implementing control chart functionality to get graphical representation against measured values for pre-defined parameters. I am facing two issues mainly:
1. When I try to calculate control limits (clicking calculator button) getting message "Control limits for track 1 could not be calculated". MICs has the upper limit and lower limit maintained which I can see in QAMV table for the inspection lots.
2. In the attached control chart , I am getting Upper Limit, Lower Limit and the Valuated Result in graphical form, when I try to display the inspection date, for the characteristics against inspection lot, I get lost. System is showing some date 7/14/14 against all the characteristics which I am not sure how to achieve.
Settings I made:
Sampling type: Fixed sample
Valuation mode: SPC inspection
W/O inspection point
Sample size: 5
Chart type:115 Shewhart chart for X bar/USA
MIC Settings:
Quantitative / Lower / Upper Sp. Limit / Sampling Procedure / SPC Characteristics / Summerised Recording / Required Char.
Inspection plan setting is:
SPC criterion : 020 task list char/material
Base qty : 1KG
Control Chart Configurations:
1. Control Chart Type -115
a) Change Control Limit not checked
b) Characteristics Type- Fixed Scope, Record measured values
c) Reference Axis (x-axis) - Time of Creation ( Do I need to change here to "Object Number" or "Time Of Inspection" ?)

For Control limits your chart needs to closed. and offcourse for calculation u need to have more than one inspection lot. then system will calculate the same. UD is also required against lots.

i have checked all the parameters required to maintain control charts. but when i enter data for in process insp. lot and display control chart an error message occur
"track 1 of the control chart does not contain any data"
so please guide me how can i see the control chart and explain me to rectify that fault.

Check the following.
Condition 1:
In sampling valuation mode should be SPC Inspection and Control choose any control chart type.
Condition 2:
In result recording your MIC should be single result entry as well as you have to enter more than one result.
Check and revert.

Control chart limit calculation not being done

I have maintained MIC, sampling procedure and Insp plan for a char and have made two lots with them. Though charts are being displayed correctly, control limit calculation is not being possible. Msg is "Control limits for track 1 could not be calculated".
What customization should be made for this?
And in QGC1/2/3, only one insp lot is there, what went wrong?

I tried with status 3. When i remove lot created start date, it shows me the fist lot with which we statred SPC in SAP. But If i put any specified start date, it returns no value. Does that mean with status 3 it will show the very 1st lot with which SPC usage started? Then what are the cases for status 1 and 5?
