Ranguvar, send me an email please... Sorry, I had no other way to get ahold of you, and if your forum email was the archlinux.us one, obviously that wasn't going to work ...

eh...he asked for password resets and i obligied, before i realized that he hadn't given me a way to get that information to him ... obviously he can't login to his .us email now to get the email i sent him, hence, the need for another email from him so i have a way to get him that information

AUR registration rejecting valid email address

Apparently the pattern that's supposed to match email addresses for AUR registration doesn't match email addresses with '+' in the username portion. I'd appreciate if this could be fixed.
edit: it should be as simple as replacing
web/lib/aur.inc:125
return eregi("^[a-z0-9\._-]+@+[a-z0-9\._-]+\.+[a-z]{2,4}$", $addy);
with
return preg_match('/([\w-+]+(?:\.[\w-+]+)*@(?:[\w-]+\.)+[a-zA-Z]{2,7})/', $addy);
which will match a wider variety of email addresses

I will be deleting these ArchLinux.us emails -- Never Logged In

I will be deleting the following 36 emails that have never logged into the archlinux.us email I setup for them, if your on this list, and want to keep your email, you have to do 2 things...
1. Email me and tell me you want to keep it. You MUST email me if your on the list and want to keep your email address.
2. Login to the email. This sets the last login date, and it won't get flagged next time as Never Logged In.
If you don't email me, your outta luck.... I'm not doing another search to see if you logged in.
This is the only notice I'm going to give, if it gets dropped, don't come whining to me, I gave you plenty of time to login one time.
Since google will only give out the 500 emails, I am clearing out the system of those that haven't logged in, to make room for those who want to use it.
Seems only fair to me.
Next on the hit list........ users that haven't logged in since 2008 ....... I'll be checking those after these are deleted.
A quick summary glance showed about 100 users hadn't logged in since 2008, this means we have roughly 300 active users.
So, if your one of those that hasn't logged in since 2008, and want to keep your email, I suggest you log in again. I will run another grep for 2008 in a week or so, and post that list here as well.

Email address change--how does this affect laptop and nook?

I use my Adobe ID only to authorize my laptop and Nook. I need to change my email address which seems easy on the FAQs, but how do I then reauthorize my laptop and Nook? And, if I do this, are all my existing library books unreadable since they were downloaded by what the Nook thinks is a different user? I'm almost sure I won't be able to return any books in ADE on my laptop, but I can live with that if I can still read the books on the Nook.

You can edit keyboard shortcuts in Settings>General>Keyboard>Shortcuts>Edit.

I am trying to use eprint and when I login it says my email address isnt registered

I would guess this is an AIM valid Screen Name such as an Apple issued @mac.com account.
I would also guess you travel to other countries.
There have been several posts about @mac.com names and people who travel and use their Screen Name elsewhere having the name Suspended.
Can you Log in here https://settings.aim.com/ ?
Is this where you saw the Suspended message ?
For AIM issued name the answer is to change your Password as this tends to prove you own the account.
This does not work for Apple IDs used as AIM Valid Screen Names as AIM can't tell when the password is changed (They can only see it when you log in)
AIM's Suspended Account page has an email ([email protected]) on it to contact if your account remains Suspended.
However you need to be very clear that you have an Apple Issued Name and that you know that resetting the password that works for AIM Names and that you would like them to reset the account.
More recently this has been a sticking point. It seems the Contact you get does not always know about the agreement that AIM recognises Apple Issued IDs as Valid Screen Names and that the AIM servers can only view the passwords at specific times (or at least confirm them) so you changing it will make no difference and that they have to step in manually.

I am trying to change or add the email address which is attached to my itunes account. I keep getting a notice saying email address is already verified for another Apple ID. Im sure its one of my devices. How can I get my current email address added?

My itunes account is attached to an email account that I no longer have and cannot retrieve. I have been having trouble with purchases made to my itunes account and want to view my purchases. The support center said that they would email me the purchase history. However, I don't have that email address. When I go to change my email address to my current one, I get a message in red saying that "the email address is already verified for another Apple I.D." I'm sure it is one of my devices as we have 4 ipods and 2 iphones. How can I get my account to use my current email address? If one of my devices was registered using my current email address as it apparently was, do I need to figure out which device that is and remove the email address from that account? I'm so confused. I just want ALL my devices to use my current email address. I need to replace the old email address with my current one. How do I do that?

Your best bet would be to try resetting the password to the account that you would like to use via iForgot
Once you log in to that account change the email address to anything, it can even be fake its just a placeholder
After you do that you will be free to change your old email address on your appleID to the new one that is now free to be used as it is no longer attached to the other account.

In Thunderbird, I cannot send email. I am asked to enter an email address in Mail and Newsgroup Account settings but when I click on this option, nothing opens.

I can connect to Thunderbird and receive email. However, I cannot send emails. When I press send (either from replying to an email or entering an email address manually) I get the following error message:
Sending of message failed.
No sender specified. Please fill in your email address in the Mail & Newsgroup Account settings.
When I click on the menu option within the email message Tools/Mail & Newsgroup, the message minimises and the programme returns me to my inbox. There is no Mail & Newsgroup setting on the mail programme.

You can have a different receiving email in the Messages app on each device : Settings > Messages > Receive At . I'm not sure that there is a different way to have the message only go to one device.

Depending on what you're asking...
There is no means to merge Apple IDs. You can change the mail address assocaited with your Apple ID, so you might switch to using and purchasing from one email address, and using the second as a backup. (There's no means to merge the purchases, and related baggage.)
While I'm guessing this was about Apple IDs, for completeness... Combining the mail messages involving multiple email addresses is separate from the Apple ID; that is usually done with some combination of notifying the senders or with the forwarding of messages from one mail server to the preferred server. Or running multiple mail accounts in parallel, depending on what you are up to.

Help. My old @us.army.mil email address was terminated by the army. I used that address to register my first apple id account on my iPad. I can't remember my original Apple ID number and if I ask to reset my password, Apple sends the reset link to my old non-working email address. I have a new gmail address and a new Apple ID number associated with that address. How do I get my iPad to use my new gmail address and new apple ID number? Remember, I can't log out of my old account because I can't remember the password. Amd Apple will only reset the password by sending a link to my old, non functioning army email account. You can't do this, and you can't transfer purchases between accounts. There is no conflict about using one ID for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match (the ID you've been using for iTunes) and using the other ID for iCloud.

On my PC I simply have a master return email address and use a POP for the secondary address. Both are through the one exchange account without a problem. I need to be able to do the same on my Ipad.

Ah, I should have made that clear. My domain didn't come from google. It was purchased at and is hosted at dreamhost, but I haven't used their email servers in years - I just route everything through gmail. I actually have a bunch of domains (with websites).
Gmail has an option that lets someone with custom domains send (and receive) email through gmail using the custom domain once Google confirms proper ownership of the domain (to prevent spammers and such). Gmail has a setting for "send email as" which allows gmail to be sent using a custom domain as the sender. I'm pretty sure Apple's old mobileme had this feature too, but I didn't use it.
