Ranking Results for Search not working

We have just installed a trial version of RoboHelp Server 8. I have published 2 test projects in FlashHelp Pro using RH8. When we test the search results feature, the results display in the order the topic is found in the TOC instead of H1, Keywords, H2/H3, etc.
I have looked high and low to find a setting that may be dictating this, but have found none. Is there something I'm missing?
Oh and since I like to eat my cake too, is there a way to display a percentage of the result (i.e., topic one 80% meets search criteria, topic two 65% meets search criteria)?

John -- thank you for your reply. I did read the post that you referred to, but that's not how this is working. Neither Server nor Client side search is ranking the results correctly, well at least I don't think so.
Server Side Search
When I search on Activities I get the following results in this order (all topics are in the TOC)
1. Notepad Overview - word in text only.
2. Empower Main Screen Layout - H3, H4, text
3. Editing Activities - Topic Title, File Name, H1, text
4. Adding Activities - Topic Title, File Name, H1, text
5. Activities Overview - Topic Title, File Name, H1, text
The items above are in the TOC in this order from top to bottom: 2, 1, 5, 4, 3.
Client Side Search
When I search on Activities I get: "No Topics Found".
Other topics I search on seem to display. The results don't display in TOC order, however, they also don't display based on the rank as defined in the Help or the Post you recommended.
Neither search works if I enter keywords in quotes. Nothing happens at all when I use quotes. At the moment, none of the Actitives topics have keywords.
Slight tangent:  I am using, or trying to, FlashHelp Pro. Although the Online Help states I can select substring search and context results, there are no options on the layout screen to select this nor on the Window options. I see this if I setup the FlashHelp layout, but the client really wants the reports and other features that Pro offers so I need to get Pro to work as it should.
RoboHelp Admin Info
When I log into the Administrative side of RoboServer the Settings page displays Database and Search options when setup for Server Side search. When setup for Client Side Search, the Sever option disappears. If we stick with Server Side searching, what does it mean by "rescan search engine"?
Is it possible that something wasn't selected correctly during the RoboServer Install? The IT department sits in a totally different state that I'm in and I don't know what the defaults are during the install process as I'm not there and we are doing this all via email.
PS: Not to throw another wrench into this issue, but....we are not using an Index. This is the first time I have created Online Help without an Index. Is this having some sort of impact on the search functionality that I am unaware of?

    Hi,
    I am facing a strange scenario with search not working on Task Description for a particular task item. This task item has around 18 versions of itself within it.
    I tried replicating the same scenario in our Test environment with following changes in the task item description:
    1. Copied the task list over to Test environment.
    2. Deleted all the versions of this task and put a single line description as.
    3. Initiated full crawl and search results with task description were
    coming up fine.
    4. Made few more versions : 5 Versions and again initiated full craw. Search results are fine.
    5. Made few more versions this time and again a FULL crawl, but now NO results with this task description.
    So, my question here is that is there any limit by MS for multiline text limit or version limit which prevents the task description from coming up in search results. 
    This task description as multiple line text with links to other lists/libraries and user names who created the versions in this task item. We are not using FAST search.

    I found the answer elsewhere on the forum:
    Somehow the main drive was added to the privacy list in Spotlight. Search is working fine now that I've removed it.

  • Archive folder missing from Mail & search not working

    I've been having trouble getting the Archive mailbox to appear in Mail. What's worse, often the search function is broken, and Mail doesn't turn up any search results. I've found some ways to get the Archive folder to reappear, but these only seem to help temporarily. For instance, clicking on the gear at the bottom left and selecting "Get Account Info" then selecting the Archive folder causes it to reappear, but this is only temporary and it disappears after another restart or sometimes after an hour or two. The search not working is the worst, as it sometimes is working and sometimes isn't. I don't have any idea what's causing this, but I am at my wit's end because I NEED Mail to be firing on all cylinders.

    Hello, and welcome to the Discussions.
    What are your selections in Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced for this Gmail account, if using IMAP, regarding keeping message for Offline use? The Mail search can only access the list of messages to search Subject, From, etc, but not the entire message unless copies of all messages are being kept on the computer. This would be true for any IMAP account, btw.

  • Spotlight search not working on ios7

    Spotlight search not working on iPhone 5 updated to ios7. I can access the search bar, but nothing happens when I enter a search term.

    I'm having the same issue with an iPad 2 and iPhone 5. As mentioned by Nick if you reboot it seems to resolve the issue. Note that after a reboot it can take several seconds for spotlight search to return the first results. After this first slow response it seems to be quicker.
    If it helps I have a few hundred apps and about 24K songs so the search has a lot to go through!

  • Mail search not working + Spotlight keeps indexing

    I have an old problem that has resurfaced after creating a new user on my Mac. Mail search brings no results and Spotlight is constantly indexing - day in, day out. It never seems to get there. I tried turning my hard drive to private in Spotlight settings and then taking it out. Previously Spotlight seemed to get bogged down with external drives now it's stuck indexing my Mac.
    Any advice? Is there a way I get unstick this?

    I can't believe that Apple have STILL not sorted this out. I haven't created a new user (so it's nothing to do with that), but Mail.app won't find anything when searching "Entire Message" in the current Mailbox or in "All Mailboxes". This has been ongoing since Leopard was first released, and we are now up to 10.5.8 without this being fixed.

    Please show hidden files and then you will see ProgramData, then try the steps in the link you mentioned.

    i have a problem with knowledge search not working in IC Win Client in CRM version 5.0
    i guess the problem is with the workspace that is IIA for solution search that is assigned against the knowledge search

    Hello ashish,
    I had that problem too. You have to apply note 1002299 to restore missing configurations in SAF.
    Also, if you worked with IIA in previous versions, take a look at note 656321 to check it's evolution (replacement by SAF).

    We are implementing SAP GRC Access Control and we have an issue in Access Request Creation. If we put the user name in “User” field and press intro, the user details are updated, but if we want to make an "Advanced search" the user is not found and the application give us the following message: “No records found for the search criteria entered.”

    Who was the beta tester and where are their test scripts?
    A simple thread with a little bit of everything in it and a windiff against the before & after would detect these things?

  • Skype 6.3 upgrade for Mac not working

    BE WARNED - just because you are being asked to upgrade your Skype, it does not mean it will work on your machine. I am a fairly regular user of Skype and this morning was unable to log-in, being told that I needed to upgrade. I did so to 6.3.0.602 but I was unable to log-in once the software had downloaded. After some research on the forums and finally a text chat with Support, I was told that Skype 6.3.0.602 requires a Mac OSX of 10.9 or above - I have 10.5.8
    "So what can I do", I asked the tech support. The answer is nothing (unless I get new OS X software) - there is no Skype software programme that supports my operating system and no timeframe for when it might be available.
    Huh? That's right. It's just not available. So for now, users with less than OS X 10.9 will be unable to use Skype when they are instructed to upgrade. It really doesn't make sense. But just so you know....

    Please look at the top of the community page, and you will find a box "Search:". Write your problem here "Upgrade not working" and see what crops up. Most likely you will be taken somewher like here: http://community.skype.com/t5/Mac/quot-We-ve-signed-you-out-because-your-using-an-outdated-version/m...  
    Here you will read that the latest versions of Skype will not work on some of the versions of MacOS, and that PPC requires one version, Leopard another, Snow leopard another, Mountain Lion another. They are indoctrinated with a stamp in their forehead to enforce their congregation of true believers to install the latest with all "security fixes" or death is looming. They are not used to software that is 2 years old. 
    So, with Mac, we have different operating systems and different sets of libraries - and things may go belly up if you upgrade - a OS feature is done differently, a libary has been placed inside the OS, and is no longer needed - and if you try to use it, you will be trapped.
    Install the latest version that works for your Mac, and make sure to freeze this. Update the "info.plist" file and tell Skype that you use their latest should they pry. As long as it works, do not change anything!
    And make the change to stop Skype from checking every time you start.

    Has anyone had a problem with their "spotlight search" not working? If I restart the phone it will work for a few days then not work again.

    It's more likely the OP's router.  I have a wifi only iPad 2, yet location services work just fine on my iPad.  If I open maps, my location is found quite nicely.  I have seen that some routers do not provide location services and I suspect the OP has such a router.

    Fixed.  Tried a lot different things but the ones that seems to have worked is going in Preferences>Advanced and hitting the Reset cache button.  Though I'm not sure it is necessary it never hurts to do a restart.

Only when attempting to open through search - does not work.   Have cleared cookes etc, and reset network, have turned oof am back on. Nothing so far has worked.
