Raptor niggles and wish list

Hi,
I've been testing it for a day now and a few of our developers have been testing it out. General comment is that it is a good tool and welcomed.
I have encountered a few niggles:-
- Could do with a handier refresh button to refresh the current window
when you have updated invalid objects. The information is not updated in the
dependencies window straight away, even when you close the window down and reopen it, plus you have to hunt for the refresh button.
- Running sql reports should be as easy as select and run without having to
strip or alter any existing reports that currently work on sqlplus.
- Addition of a "close all connections" option, when closing the interface.
- Stores the password from the last login, should have option to store or not
to store, the default being not to store. This could cause problems if users
share a computer for any reason.
- Can you rollback from a series of insert statements in a session??
- For testing plsql code, it would be better to have the input field in the
parameter list at the top as opposed to having to add it into the raw code.
- When disconnecting from a database connection, it should remove the
named DB connection from the list. As selecting it again automatically restarts the connection. Could be convenient for some users, but I think this may be problematic.
Requirements
============
- Option to clear sql history or default to not storing sql and have an option to store the sql history, if you so require.
- The feature that would make it most usable to our developed especially, is if it contained a Designer esq design editor visualization tool. Something to provide a physical diagrammatic representation of the tables, FK's, sequences etc. Options to reverse engineer the diagram from existing schema's would be nice and a function to save and print the diagrams.
- Running plsql, when selecting the dbms output window, it would be nice if
this window remained open, when the plsql was rerun. Alternatively, if there was a way to pin it open as an option and leave the default action as it is as returning to the results tab that would be great also.

Few more othe annoying issues:
4. When there is a phone in the contacts (e.g. sent by bluetooth) you can't change the tag of what each phone is with one of the presets. You have to type it yourself!!!
5. No setting for the Alarm volume

Missing Features, Bugs, and Wish List for Apple Engineers

I LOVE my iPhone. It is by far the best phone I have ever had. The interface is awesome. Great job Apple, but there are missing features and bugs that all of us want updated or wish were added. I know they were probably already thought of by Apple, but in an effort to make the phone perfect removed to make it more stable. Now that it is out lets make it perfect.
This thread will hopefully give you guys guidance from the early adopters who share your love for the phone (and others who want to chime in). I want to separate the list into a few categories and hope everyone will add to this thread with their ideas:
1) BUGS/CHANGES TO EXISTING APPS:
- Period should be in alphabet keyboard (make space smaller) or when you go to symbol keyboard and hit period it should automatically go back to the alphabet keyboard (unless you double click the symbol button which means stay there like caps lock)
- Individual delete (like Mail) of all lists (eg. call list, bookmarks list, history etc.
- Multiple item in a List delete (see below for how to select). This is also so un-Mac like to not be able to select multiple items to delete. It is all or none for clear/delete on the iPhone.
- Implement double finger slide...in maps double finger tap zooms out so the OS recognizes this, why don't you use a double finger drag to mean "select". There is no way to select some words in a sentence or a group of items. This could be how. eg. In a list (eg Mail) double finger slide over items you want to select (instead of singer finger drag which moves the list) then one finger slide to the right to delete the selected items from the list.
- Copy and paste. Since there are no menus this would require a gesture (ala newton)
- when you tap the battery icon it should bring up a battery status dialog (ala wifi join dialog where the screen dims): present charge, big battery icon (like the charging one), time left. In addition, instead of giving battery usage details only after a full charge, give it at any point.
- Since you know that nights and weekends are at set times (and not variable like it was on Sprint where I came from)...the phone usage details should be broken down into: peak minutes used and N+W minutes used (not hard to figure out since you know the time and dates of calls)
- Be able to change font/background etc in Notes app
- faster way to get to favorites in the killer phone app after turning on phone. Just seems like it takes too many taps to get there to make a call on a phone.
2) WISH LIST FOR NEW APPS (apps that can be added with existing hardware, see #3 for other wishes)
- iChat (obvious and probably almost done)
- VOIP (probably not going to happen, and wouldn't work in Europe where I would need it most gven network speeds there)
- Flight tracker widget
- Exchange support (probably in the works)
- Push email from gmail and .Mac (probably in the works)
- Bluetooth sync
- DUN (probably not going to happen since AT+T does not want it)
- Data/File storage with sync
- TODO APP that syncs to to do in iCal
- Ringtones, definitely from songs from iPod side (obvious and coming soon I am sure)
-Search function like spotlight. Global would be awesome, but even just in contacts
3) FUTURE HARDWARE RELATED WISHES (stuff we wish could be in hardware version 1 but know require a version 2):
- GPS
- 3G
- LED that changes color and/or pulses (like MacBooks sleep light) that indicates things (eg charge status, Voice mail status, roaming status etc) without turning on the phone
- Move camera to front to allow video conferencing (I doubt Steve would allow since it would mess up the clean front look)
Well I could go on and will add to this thread later, but I need to go to work to show everyone (and sell more apple stuff since many of my colleagues have been converted to macs). Now, all you pioneers, start adding things to help our beloved phone become better!

I agree with your post! I'm amazed by the simplicity, the screen, and the apps on the iPhone. They all have worked wonderfully for me, with just a few crashes while surfing or loading big email images. (I heard that shutting down the phone and restarting helps that.)
The single flaw for me is that the phone app itself should be primary, with more options (quicker access, unique ringtones, voicedial?) and ease of use. The other applications are so elegant, but I need my phone to be very accessible and practical too.
My wish list:
1) Make it fewer taps to get to the point where you can make a phone call. How about the main button can be programmed to take you wherever you want. I'd choose to go to Phone Favorites, so I could speed dial right away.
2) Be able to set a preference as to what app you're in when you wake up the phone. I'd choose phone keypad, some might choose iCal, etc.
3) Add the period and comma symbols to the alpha keyboard.
4) Allow different ringtones for specific caller ID's.
5) Copy and paste.
V2) With new hardware, add a "back" button to return to prev. screen. It could be small, on the side near volume?

E71 Feedback and Wish list for future development

Hi Nokia and Nokia Fans.
E71 is a masterpiece but I believe there's much room for improvement. My E71 is indispensable to me. I wish Nokia will strive to thrive the E series and in particular the E71.
Here's my wish list / features to add:
1. A Task Manager for Symbian that's Nokia naively developed is absolutely essential as it's required to manage all aspects of applications, processes and threads, especially the misbehaving ones.
2. Use better GPS Chipset with better sensitivity as the current one is really slackly.
3. High-Speed WiFi connection to access and manage the phone including the mass storage instead of fiddling with wires.
4. Secure zone for creating password-protected notes/memos/etc, previously called "wallet".
5. Add SMS "Listen" feature for sent messages.
6. Add "Timed" Profiles.
My feedback / Issues to fix:
1. "Memory card in use" Error. Despite proper removal of USB connection when using PC Suite or Mass Storage data transfer.
2. Configure to display "Firstname Lastname" format .
3. Configure Date display to American format (Wednesday December 03 2008).
4. Save current "configurations and user preferences" for future deployment after firmware upgrade or maintenance routine.
5. When receiving a Bluetooth message with (.sis or .sisx) attachment, provide save to memory card option rather than launching installtion process.
6. Setting up "WPA2 Only" mode on WLAN Security Settings for a particular Access Point will not allow communication despite the access point router/gateway is configured to work on this particular mode.
7. Camera is another isssue. Fix color fidelity and picture clarity issues.

Nice wishlist, willing to front up the extra cash to have these features? Got to remember that until these feature become more common they will stay as premium items and that you need to pay the extra money or move to a higher priced plan for them. Getting something like device locks would be great though but then what would device locks do for a customer base? and they do have the data encryption built in....
I would like to see a 16:9 aspect ratio in the next version of the phone myself. A holster pouch w/ belt clip rather than looking for and buying an ill fitting pouch cos I really don't like the pouch it comes with and cant find a nice one. The ability to have more than just the plain 6 applications on the screen, it used to scroll if I remember correctly in the older ones. The ability to skip music tracks when pressing volume up or down. 3.5mm audio jack. Time and date or at least time shown on the top strip of the display when going through the menu (there are a number of time I want to know the time and have to program juggle to find out what it is. More symbols on the other keys rather than just on the right hand side, I do have 2 thumbs available to use and fairly dexterous with either hand.
Less "download - **bleep**" in the web menu it takes me to a link with useless stuff on it.....
That GPS chip needs to be replaced, it has me walking down the road or in my neighbours house when I'm just lying in my lounge.
This wish is for all Nokia Symbian devices, I would love to see a Nokia App store. I'm sure it'll come around once they get the symbian foundation off the ground but i'm impatient and a lil lazy and haven't always got the time to find an application for something I have thought up. Blackberry and Apple have got something of a centralised store up and running, C'mon Nokia! Get a move on!

Purchased and wish list is empty

Yesterday I found that on my iPhone 5S, the purchased list & wish list in app store beame empty. I have paid for many apps before and they all disappeared from my list. When I searched for the apps I bought, it shows the price or the "free" icon instead of the cloud icon. I tried logging out and restarted my phone, neither worked. I also tried to buy new apps that I've never purchased before but after a new download, I still can't see the apps I just bought. When I uninstalled them, it didn't show the cloud icon meaning I can't download again. On the other hand, on my 4th gen iPad with same apple ID, I can see my purchased list but can't download the apps.
I'm running iOS 7.1.2 on both my iPhone 5S and 4th gen iPad.
Can somebody help me with this please? Thank you!!

SVG Series chart problems and wish list

Hi,
I've noticed that when I add more than 3 series, the fourth item in the legend is displayed below it, amidst the data, in other words the legend is not resized or the exceeding elements are not accomodated in the spare space available inside the legend's box.
Also, I cannot use dynamic values for series names. This would be very useful when creating charts out of TOP-N queries. The only way around this is to split a chart into N charts, where, at least, I can dynamically assign the chart title.
Likewise, I cannot calculate dinamically the X or Y axis maximum value, which would allow me to round up to the nearest multiple of some value.
It would be great if these requirements could be addressed in a future release of HTML DB.

- The ability to store/swap apps/music/etc. temporarily off-line (because of iDevice storage constraints)
   A backup/offline storage area that is ignored when syncing
- iTunes should respect apps and app folder content and placements
- Allow for multiple iDevices (with different content) on same iTunes account
   I have an iPod, iPad, and iPhone - I want to be able to independently sync them on a single computer

Itunes sync problems (and wish list)

No doubt the iPhone is the most beautiful mobile phone with the greatest (and most consistent user experience). Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for iTunes! This tool (and being forced to use it) is the single greatest frustration in the iPhone experience!
I am sure many may not agree with me, especially considering it works fairly well as long as you don't change computers, want to sync two different iDevices (with same account BUT different content), temporarily remove apps/songs because of storage limitations, use app folders and expect iTunes to respect their content and placement, or try anything else outside iTunes limited scope. In short, iTunes is either incredibly non-inuitive, I am an idiot for not figuring it out, or it is absolutely the worst part about the iDevice family.
My problems began when I changed computers and since then, I have not been able to sync to my new computer. The problem is (or seems) that iTune is insisting on syncing in *one direction only*, with the message, "Are you sure you want to sync apps? All existing apps and their data on the iPhone "xxxxxxx" will be replaced with apps from this iTunes library." This message appears when I attempt to check the Sync Apps check box.
So what do I do? I have already deleted iTunes and reinstalled it.
- Yes, I have right-clicked on DEVICES, and selected BACKUP and SYNC and TRANSFER PURCHASES (why so many options AND what the heck are the differences?)
- If I ignore that dire warning and select Sync Apps, the preview window shows all my apps in a jumbled mess. In stark contrast, my iPhone apps are arranged in my own logical order and placed in organized app folders. I am afraid if I click SYNC, this is the mess that iTunes will send to my iPhone!
All I want to do is start over... I just want to back up (or sync) the contents of my iPhone like I have done for the past two years.
Can someone please tell me how to sync iPhone ---> iTunes?
I love iDevices... if I have to purchase another tool, I am happy to do so.

E65 gripes (and wish-list)

Just finishing my 2nd week of ownership of this phone, and while the pros outweigh the cons by a substantial margin, at the end of the day, there are some features I miss that were brilliant on my old 6230i.
1) No timed profiles - this was a really neat feature I wish they'd put back. Often I'd go into a meeting and just put my phone on timed-silent. Great feature if you constantly forget to change back to general setting.
2) Selective alarms - would be nice to have the alarm only go off on the weekdays. Now, it's all or nothing. I found a 3rd party application (Smartbian) that gives this functionality, but it's got an annoying bug that doesn't shut off the alarm by clicking the stop button.
3) Poor Bluetooth GPS support - I think this could be my own fault for not checking compatibility at first, but you'd expect that this brand-new model would have some forward compatibility with Bluetooth devices, specifically the new chipset GPS units being promoted on ebay.
That's it for now. Like I said, this is a nice phone, but at the end of the day, I think I should've waited a couple of weeks for the 6110 Communicator to be released (with the same plan, nonetheless). For now, I'm going to try to sell the GPS unit and recoup some of my costs.

Bug list and wish list premiere pro cs4

Iam realy interesting someone, sometime work with Premiere pro cs4 from Adobe team ? I gues not!! Some bug might not seen only people who not work on premiere !!! 2 russian video editing forum named premiere cs4 most worst of version premiere. Old bugs not fixed on premiere cs3 adobe make premiere cs4 with new most worst bugs and some options was remove(Fast export to frame\movie) What for ????!!!!! Cuting the clip i must press 2 button - what for ? Cut it most usful operation and adobe make 2 button press to cut. And domenation effects then adding to clip, please try add some effect to clip then add someone again. Why new effects adds not to last posotion ?
And time warp, posterize time work only with neast sequence!!! What for !!!Its make work with premiere faster ????

Wish List, Shopping List in iTunes store?

I want to save items of interest for possible future purchase, but can't find any way to do it in the iTunes store. Amazon has Shopping List and Wish List, as do other sites, but it appears that the iTunes store has nothing like this. I don't think the shopping cart will work, because everything in it gets purchased at once, so you can't really save things for later.
Any tips?

I tried your suggestion, and came up with more problems.
I couldn't drag movies from the store into the new playlist. The only way I can get a list view is to do a power search, and I can then drag movies from the resulting list view to the playlist. However, iTunes treated almost all of them as music; only a few showed up as movies. Also, the search results (all movie rentals) that I got in the list view omitted a lot of rentals that show up on the main store page.
I get the impression that your method is supposed to be easier than this.

Warnings while compiling and something for the wish list

Just now and then when I try to compile one of my packages I get the following warning:
Warning(95,29): PLW-07203: Message 7203 not found; No message file for product=plsql, facility=PLW.
Of course, 95 and 29 are the line and column numbers for me to find the place of the warning. However I'm pretty sure there's something missing in my conf files in order the Raptor can pick the correct message from the files where Oracle store the globalization support (spanish is the language of my machine). Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this?
By the way, something for the wish list: in Data Dictionary Reports I would love to see all the information related to OWI: you know: v$event_name, v$session_wait, v$session_event, v$event_histogram, etc. Maybe some GOOD reports to encourage everyone to study and learn the Wait Interface.

Actaully the message not found is an issue with the DB install. You should look on metalink for how to fix it.

Oracle 11g express --- Wish list --- Match or beat IBM and Microsoft

Oracle's significant competitors IBM and Microsoft have had support for XSLT and XQuery in their express editions for a while. My wish-list for Oracle 11g express is to match it or even beat it. With increasing adoption of XML a lot of innovation is happening. Oracle is a no-show here.
I had to switch to DB2 from Oracle to be able to take advantange of the IBM Db2 express. Along the way, I will end up purchasing their high-end DB2 offering also.

I see Oracle in a dilemma here.
Oracle 11g SE One Processor Perpetual costs $5,800 - dillute this over 3 years and you have a VERY GOOD database for a VERY affordable price. For small shops, this is a no-brainer over Standard Edition.
But alas, suppose 11g XE supports 2 CPUs, 2 GB of RAM and 20 GB of storage!
Let's think about it. A fast, robust, mature, fully-featured database - for FREE. But wait, there's more - APEX is FREE as well.
XE and APEX make a killer combo. XE's hard-coded limits are cumbersome, but creative DBAs/developers manage to create impressive solutions nonetheless. Without Oracle making a single dollar in licenses.
Simply put, I think 11g XE with 2 CPUs, 2GB RAM and 20 GB of storage would take away customers from Oracle - those currently buying Oracle 11g SE One Processor Perpetual. OK, XE comes with no support, but still, $0 is less than $5,800. The difference is even more significant in a scenario of economic downturn.
It will be interesting to see how Oracle handles this.

Wish list is not visible and store searches are blank too

Upgraded to ITunes 11.2.2, the latest, using 10.6.8 OS on an Imac and first I noticed no images in my Wishlist. Just a blank screen, with the ability to sort by name ,etc tab. Now when I do a search for an artist or an album on the store, I get a blank screen also for results, i see the text for showing the options of Aps, Music, Movies, but no images of search results. Very frustrating.

The 'buy all' has, for some reason, been removed from the current version of iTunes - you can try leaving feedback for Apple and maybe it'll be added back in a future update :http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html . Until then you can only buy items individually.
In terms of the 'x' for deleting items from it, other people have posted about that and it's affecting me as well. I assume that there is a bug with the current version of iTunes and/or a problem at Apple's end which they need to fix.

Wish List UK access and longgevity

It could be teething trouble, but here in the UK anyway, I find that the Wish List function works on and off. I hope this gets sorted out.
I'd like to know if anybody can confirm that the tracks/albums I place there will never be removed? I have had some items on my Amazon wish list which have been there for years and are slowly getting the financial treatment - I don't want them to ever be removed.
Anybody know about these questions?

Hmm, seems to be working quite well now. But there's no export :(( I hop my list doesn't disappear anywhere!
