RAR 5.3 - Active Rules 300,000+??

Good day Chaps.
I need to know, how many Rules will be present under
RA&R >
Rules Architect tab >
Rule Library>
Rule level Action for a GRC Access Control 5.3 implementation where GRC is connected to one (1) SAP Production system.
The reason for the question is that I received information, that the number of Rules is dependant on the number of SAP Productions systems connected to GRC.

The number of rules is a function of the number of risks and the systems you're generating system specific rules for.
Usually you'll get around 50.000 rules for the standard R/3 rule set.
If you re-upload the rules for every new system, the number of rules will multiply accordingly.
Usually you'll use a logical system, though, which will keep the number of rules constant as long as you do not require different rules for each system (which will mostly not be necessary).

Hi,
I have a table in db 1(approx 10 columns) and want to copy all the rows(approx. 300,000) from this table with a simple where clause to the same db table in db 2. Both databases are on unix.
I am executing this from a laptop with windows XP remotely connected to my office network.
Could someone let me know what is the best way to do this.

You don't. Create a dblink and copy the data directly from the source to the target:

WHERE ID > 5000);

Notes Multiply alarmingly - from 10 Notes to 300,000

Mail has been really problematic foe me recently (refuses to Quit unless ForceQuit, hogs up all CPU, is sluggish in general and clicking on Notes and ToDos crashes Mail.)
I have tried various remedies (rebuilt Mailboxes, trashed Preferences, stopped syncing Notes) but nothing has helped.
I looked in the ~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/Notes.mbox/Messages directory and found over 300,000 items when I have only about 10 notes. There are multiple copies of these 10 Notes in that folder. And the number of items in that folder increases as long as Mail is running. The size of this folder is now 1.35 GB when each Note is 8KB or less. As soon as I start Mail these begin to multiply.
I am using MobileMe but have turned off Notes Syncing. Even then the Notes seem to multiply on their own.
I have 2 IMAP and one POP folder.

Thanks for your help. I tried the steps you mentioned (deleted the Notes.mbox and plist files, recreated the accounts) but the Notes kept multiplying. Finally, in exaspration I just deleted all the Notes and the multiplying stopped. HOWEVER, despite removing all the Notes, recreating the Mailboxes and unchecking Notes sync, Mail still crashes when I click on Notes.
In addition, even after all those changes (and many many more prior to that) Mail is horribly slow, it periodically consumes all the CPU making my (otherwise very well-behaved) laptop extremely hot with the fans blowing REALLY hard and refuses to Quit unless Force Quit. It may be time for me to go back to Eudora. All of this started happening since 10.5.4 or the MobileMe update.

Active rules in mailboxes

Hi, Community.. I just received some splendid answers to a question I had.
I found that i still have one question..
i have two mail accounts at mac.com.. they are together in my mail account , (separated into two as required in the 'accounts'' tab.)
i applied some rules to my mail ..to detect mail from certain e mail addresses and to direct them to the trash folder of mail.
The way I did this was to set a rule as
coming from ...and then typed in the e mail offending address
and then action taken: move to trash.
I got a pop up box which says
Applying rules to the selected mailboxes may change their contents. Active rules will always be applied to new messages.
i clicked on the "do not apply" button.. was this the right thing to do?..or should I have clicked on "apply"?
i told the last group of repondents
(?) (where is the spell checker?)
to my question that i am a bit dense when it comes to computers and language pertaining to..
what exactly does the line in BOLD TEXT mean above.?.. what does 'selected mailboxes' mean?
i have created the rule above, (about five rules pertaining to five incoming e mail addresses) and i fully expect it to be applied to all the incoming e mails, but i clicked on the "do not apply..button, because i thought that applying rules to selected mailboxes might change their contents>
so confused..as usual

What you did will make the rule apply to incoming messages. If you had clicked apply, it probably would have checked your mailboxes for those addresses and removed any it found that matched the rule.

Script logic record more than 300,000 record

When I run my logic I have error in my formula log:

I check my script it pull out total 422076 records.
Is it meaning I cannot More than 300,000 records??
Is there any where I can set MAX records I can generate for my single script to run??

You should use
*XDIM_MAXMEMBERS dimension = numberOfMembers to be processed at a time
For example
*XDIM_MAXMEMBERS Entity = 50
Figure out wich dimension has the most members, and use it, this sections you script logic.

Using a textfile to store ~300,000 - 1million records of data

Hi all,
I'm making a simple java program that will retrieve information, store it. Then the application would use the stored information.
My thought was -- in order to make the java program work on all platforms, rather than use a database, i would just save the records of information to a txt file.
Imagine a file holding the following information for about 300,000 - 1 million rows.
prop1=value1, value2, value3
prop2=value1a, value2a, value3a
prop3=value1b, value2b, value3b
prop4=value1c, value2c, value3c
prop5=value1d, value2d, value3d
later on the application would load these retrieved records as a property object.
Do you guys think it would work or do you think I'm better off using a database? on the windows platform I would be using access 2000

I would have to go with the database on this.
For the given data, each record is probably 10 to 1000 bytes of data.
Unless you build an index, any search is going to take a bit of time with 10 bytes and significantly more with 1000.
If you try to keep it in memory even for the smallest size it would take (4+4+10)*records plus some overhead, so 5.4 meg (300,000 records). And that is using a packed format and is probably optmistic on the memory usage.
At the upper range it simply won't fit (4+4*1000)*1,000,000 is 1.8 gig. The Sun 1.3.1 JVMs for solaris and windows do not support that much memory.
That isn't to say that you couldn't keep it as a file. But to do so would require a non-trivial amount of code to efficiently access it. And without more information about why the database is not a good solution (or how the app would be used) it is hard to say what the best solution is.

BKPF 6000 records and bsid 300,000 records

300,000 Images in a Catalog?

I am reaching 300,000 images in my catalog. I shoot about 30,000 images a year. yes, MOST are not keepers, but many are, especially if they are of my family/kids.
So what should I do? A catalog a year is quite troublesome when I need to access images from multiple catalogs... Advice?

Don't worry - there are plenty much bigger than that, and separate catalogues have many disadvantages. Just make sure you are backing up your catalogue properly and you optimize it http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/optimize-performance-lightroom.html
Maybe you've also answered the question yourself though. Most are not keepers. So why keep them at all? Perhaps you could be a bit more brutal with culling the non-keepers? But don't let the size of the catralogue drive that decsion.

Order Activity rules and status code protection

Hi
Just a quick question on status code protection settings with regards to order activity rules.
If order activity rules are configured so that certain statusses can be bypassed. ie. (Approval of purchase orders for instance).
Will status code protection when set active, prevent status codes from being bypassed in the order activity rules? In other words the Purchase order must follow the normal status codes as layed out in the order activity rules?
Any reponse will be appreciated.

In any case, you shouldn't be doing any includes in Application.cfc(side note: capital A). The application file is not meant for presenting CFM pages. Translate all such includes into logic involving, for example, cflocation.

300,000 emails?

I installed "Virusbarrier X5" after a friend claimed her machine caught a virus from an email I sent her.
It shows the file name on screen whilst its running as well as progress, viruses etc.
It went really quickly until it started scanning emails (with extension .emlx) and then it took 4 hours to scan over 300,000 of these files.
I checked afterwards and I only have 1500 emails in all my accounts.
So where are the 300,000 files coming from? (I did not have a virus).
Help and advise please?

Thanks for the Virus info Mulder.. I am not worried at all about Viruses but wanted to reassure myself that I hadnt infected my friend (after promoting Macs to her for a long time!).
I found the files though: 276,000 of them.
They were stored in "Notes". Although I had only about ten of them originally, it seems that either Mail or Mobile Me was spawning copies (mostly empty files) on an exponential basis.....
They did not show up in the Mail program but after a bit of clicking in the Library/Mail I found the culprit folder.
I am trying to Trash it right now (seems rather stubborn and likes its warm home on my HD).
Hopefully this will be the solution...but no! Even after trashing the "Notes/Messages" Mail Feedback still says I have 276,000 files...
I wish they would separate "Notes" into its own program (which could sync with iPhone..) and then this type of thing may not happen in the future.
(For people curious about this "Notes" are stored under "Reminders" ... in the Mailbox Pane)

unfortunatly you didnot tell the currency.
If it is a currency with 0 decimals like Yen then the value in table is always stored with 2 decimals according to the domain of the currency field but displayed using the decimlas from the currency table.

SAP format for amounts
In an SAP system, amounts (data type CURR) are always stored in the database using exactly two decimal places. It does not matter how many decimal places are actually allowed for the relevant currency.
However, amounts are displayed on screens as converted in accordance with their number of decimal places. The number of decimal places, and therefore the shift of the decimal point, is stored in the table TCURX.
Example
The currencies JPY (Japanese Yen) and TWD (Taiwanese Dollar) do not have any decimal places. An amount of 123456 JPY is stored on the database as 1234.56 JPY; however, on the screen (for example, in the PSA maintenance, in the query or in the LISTCUBE) it is displayed as 123,456 JPY (when using the comma as the thousand separator).

Also they have announced that the FTTC rollout will reach 66% of UK households by 2014 now a year earlier than expected.
Hopefully the bigger take up of subscribers will mean a further rollout into the final thrid when the inital project is complete.

CC / RAR 5.2 - Multiple Rule Set Question

How does the system handle the use of multiple rule sets in CC / RAR 5.2?
For example, letu2019s say I want to keep a standard SAP rule set in tact to use for testing and comparison in RAR, but I also want to load another one.
I realize that only 1 can be the u201CDEFAULTu201D so what does that mean? I know that a risk analysis is only run against the rule set you set as default. I also know that you can select the rule set to use in processing when you manually run either through Informer or Configuration tab a risk analysis. What I am really concerned with is what happens if you take the results to u201Cmanagement reportsu201D from 2 different rule sets?
First, can you even do it?
Second, if you can, then I think you must have to come up with a different RISKID configuration schema for each rule set otherwise, I do not see how you can differentiate from which rule set the violation is generated. That said, you will also need to export the report information into Excel and make any u201Crule set sortu201D there as I donu2019t see a way to do it directly in RARu2026.maybe a future improvement?
Can anyone confirm the impact of multiple rule sets and how you manage them?

You can maintain the different severity levels for different Rule Sets. For example, in one Rule Set you can keep the "Critical" Risks and in other you can keep "High", "Medium" & "Low". Run your analysis against first Rule Set if you want to know the "Critical" Risks and second Rule set you can use for rest of the severity levels. I hope this way you can manage your multiple Rule Sets in RAR.

Active Rule Bug

I have those 2 conditionnals rules.The first one is working great and for the second one, only the first action is executed. Also, after the partial execution of this second rule, my form is totally bugged and I can't submit it. Have you got any explanations?

Are you sure you want to do this onClick? Why not just onChange?
As for the "totally bugged" behavior, what browser are you using? This may require a TAC case.

Extention set EA-FIN activated rules out the use of FEBA transaction

Hi all,
When Extension set EA-FIN is activated you can no longer call up the standard Bank Statement Processing (FEBA), instead FEBAN is called.
Does anybody know a way to still call FEBA after EA-FIN is activated or provide some insight into why FEBA does now call FEBAN.

Hi Gudmundur,
After eytension has been switched on, the coding of FEBA executes in a different way. Coding has obviously been prepared to do so since Rel 4.7. It checks for the activated extension and jumps to FEBAN. That's it, you do not even get a message about that ...
There is one message you can switch on, to force FEBA to still be FEBA even though extension has been activated:
Maintain table views for messages: SM30
View: V_T100C
Application Area: NEW_FEBA
Message 001 for FEBA instead of FEBAN
Message 002 for FLB1 instead of FEBAN
FEBA will stay FEBA but issue an information to the user. That's it. If you want to, you can certainly start FEBAN at any time you want to ...
