Rarcrack - how long for the file with 400 MB ?

Hi everyone
I'm trying to get the password in the encrypted file with 400 MB. It's more time I thought.
If someone have used the program, rarcrack, can you tell me know that get the password with special characters ?
For example:
The encrypted file with 400MB + the passwords "?_123_123_abc_@theworld".
How long for that ?
Thank you very much.

Does rarcrack know how long the pass-phrase is or not?
Also, are you using a dictionary/removing obvious choices of pass-phrase to help speed up the process OR are you brute-forcing every single pass-phrase from the ASCII alpha-numeric alphabet + punctuation?
TL;DR: Assuming I've done the Maths correctly, a damn sight longer that you might have thought
Since you haven't said, I'm going to assume YES to the first question and I'm assuming you're brute forcing, to make the maths simpler.
For one character position you're looking at about 26 lower case + 26 upper case + 10 digits + 10 punctuation marks of some sort. So that's 72 characters. You've got 22 characters in the passphrase, so that's a potential of 72^22 = 7.26632672153 x 10^40 pass-phrase combinations.
Now let's assume you're doing this on modern hardware, with an SSD on a single machine which can process something at the rate of 200MB/s. That's two seconds a pass. That'll take you about 2.01842408931 x 10^37 hours.
Disclaimer: I'm working off the assumption that encryption has been used, and that rarcrack would decrypt the whole file on each attempt (pass-phrase protection and encryption are different things...). I don't actually know how it works, but for those that do know how it does, you can probably work out the time from the number of pass-phrase combinations.

  • How to delete the file with space in name

    Hi

    i run the following command in command prompt.i can delete the file successfully.
    /bin/rm -f /mnt/"test ex.txt"
    I want to run the command from java.So i am using the following code
    String cmd = "/bin/rm -f /mnt/\"test ex.txt\"";
         Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
    process = rt.exec(cmd);
    The file was not deleted.
    How to delete the file with space in name?
    Help me

    Use the form of exec that takes an array of command + args.
    arr[0] = "/bin/rm"
    arr[1] = "-f"
    arr[2] = "/home/me/some directory with spaces";Or use ProcessBuilder, which is the preferred replacement for Runtime.exec, and which Runtime.exec calls.

    Yes, the installer will launch automatically and wait for you when you wake up to proceed with the Lion installation.
    Good Luck, and remember to back up your data always before installing operating systems or OS patches.

  • How long for the full speed to kick in.

    So the wonderful BT man left a few hours ago. Very polite and proffessional, he came in and seemed grateful that I had a diagram showing him what needed to be done to due socket and power arangements.
    Anyways, it has immediately synced up and speedtest is reporting Aprox 27 down and 5 up, which was somewhere in the ballpark of what we were expecting for infinity 1.
    http://www.speedtest.net/result/1993735692.png
    As we signed up to infinity 2, how low will it be before the new profile kicks in for the real speeds ?
    Thankie.

    Hi,
    You should already be on Infinity 2. Infinity 2 refers to "VDSL 17a Profile" which means the signal bandwidth used to delivery your broadband is 17mhz (double what it used to be).
    I have recently had my Infinity installed and was straight onto the 17a profile.
    I think your speed is probably the maximum you will get at the moment.
    Cheers,
    Richard
    Would find that strange as I was previously able to get ~10-12mb on ADSL2+ and expected around 27-28 on btinfinity 1 when the option was finally enabled for my road (we got left off the list until a mod here intervened).
    Im thinking potentially Ive run into the same problem again, as if I enter the telephone number of the house next to mine (a different street, but same cabling for telephone lines) it comes back with

  • How long for the DVD

    I was wondering if anyone has a feel for how long it takes for the free DVD installation disks for Oracle Linux takes to arrive. I signed up for the delivery almost 2 weeks ago and it still hasn't arrived. The link to the DVD's is
    http://www.oracle.com/go/?&Src=5129481&Act=119

    Hi, Beilswh:
    I guess you are an Oracle customer and not an Oracle employee:
    "I am a developer for a company that spends over one million dollars a year on Oracle licenses. I have ordered the free DVD's for Oracle Linux and I am planning to install it on My personal computer at home......."
    Please correct me if I am wrong.
    For the time being, There is no free Oracle Enterprise Linux installation discs delivery for outside customer, it only for Oracle Employee.
    As an alternative option, I recommend you to download its ISO image from eDelivery:

    Let me know your concerns please.

    Log in to your account, and move all your files to your home folder. No other users should be able to access them there and they won't show up with a Spotlight search.
    Make sure your kids' account(s) do not have admin privileges.

    Yes, sharing a TM disk is a bad idea, and disks are cheap enough so that you don't need to.
    Now
    Have you tried to repair the disk yet

    As I wrote Apple will diagnose an Apple product even if it is out of warranty for free. That should be your first step to find out if the problem is the battery or something else.
    Once you have Apple telling you a 7 month old battery is defective (if that turns out to be the case)  then it becomes a game of horse trading. You'll need to speak to the tech and when he tells you there is nothing he can do you will need to speak to the tech manager and when she says most likely there is nothing they can do you go to the store manager, etc.  It is unlikely (though possible) that they will give in easily you need to be firm, polite and let on that you're willing to accept a partial reimbursement.
    So again the first step is to find out what is wrong.
    good luck

    Hello.
    I believe this is a Windows related issue, since it's the windows Save File manager we're talking about here (right?). You should contact Microsoft for help on that one, I believe. You'd expect to be able to delete the entries by simply tapping ''Delete'' on your keyboard when they are focused (that's how it goes for deleting specific form autocomplete entries in Firefox), but I haven't tried that.
    I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

    While we have no idea within this Community Forum how long you would have to wait for your iPhone 6 Case, I can tell you that there would not be a "general" answer of value.  Like any product that is available in different materials and colors, the inventory varies based on what you have specifically ordered.  For example, I visited an Apple Store on the day after the iPhone 6 became available and was interested in the "Midnight Blue" Leather"  Apple iPhone 6 Case.  The store had plenty of all the other colors, but that specific case and color had sold out that morning.

  • How long does the IPhone5c battery last for without hardly any usage with about 2/3 to 3/4 left?

    How long does the IPhone5c battery last for without hardly any usage with about 2/3 to 3/4 left?
    Has the side affect of charging, where the battery's life gradually decreases overall with each charge, been fixed ?

    Eric,
    They did say 12-14 hours, but as is always the case with such estimates, they invariably quote the 'best possible scenario' and almost never mirror 'real world' conditions.
    If, from a fully charged position, you simply switch on your nano, and set it to continuously play through a long set of songs, with EQ off, backlight off, modest volume (50%) don't touch it during playback, then you might just get somewhere near this figure - and if you don't then it's either not been conditioned properly or it's faulty.
    If you use it like me, daily for a couple of hours, with 2 secs backlight and switch songs regularly, using fairly high volumes then 6-8 hours is more likely. It'll even drain when it's not in use, even in sleep mode, albeit very slowly. They also tend to drain more quickly before they've been through their first few charge cycles (the conditioning period).
    Personally I haven't got a problem with this though I can understand why some people have. It's not very impressive in this respect. Apple should be able to come up with something much better - maybe they should talk to Sony

  • How long would the battery last if you were usinng it for...

    How long would the battery last if you were usinng it for wireless msn around the house..
    Thanks,
    Andrew

    I never get less than 3 1/2 hours and generally get a bit over 4 hours on a fully charged battery. Before unplugging I make sure BlueTooth and sound is off, the backlight is set as low as I can stand it, I have no disc in the drive, and all the applications and files I intend to use are running and loaded. The three biggest juice eaters are the display's backlight, the hard drive and optical drive so I minimize the use of all three while unplugged.
    Are Mac notebooks tough? A couple quick stories: I dropped my G3 iBook off my desk and it hit the concrete floor on its corner breaking off a large piece of plastic. I fashioned a fiberglass bandage and used the computer for 3 months before finding a functional used shell. A customer came in with a horrifically bent PowerBook last summer - it fell out of his motorcycle sidebag while he was driving (35 MPH) and was run over by at least 1 car. It booted up and the display while bent by the mangled case still worked. I actually used Migration Assistent to move his stuff to the new computer. A student brought me his MacBook which he'd dropped down half a flight of stairs at the college. It had been in a lightly padded sleeve. It looked banged up - there were some fractures to the bottom case and the hinge squealed terribly as I opened it. But the computer woke up and it checked out okay. AppleCare basically replaced everything but the innards - the guy's home insurance covered all but the deductible which was a good thing - that is an expensive repair! Would the typical PC survive these accidents? Well, I know from experience the cheap plastic Dell and HP models wouldn't.
