Rated song in my iphone/ipad does not show in itune

hello
i had rated som song as one star in my iphone, so when i connect to itunes, the rating should show, [when i select the music of my iphone in itunes]
i used to have it in old release but now i dont know why does not show .
i even made smart list when all music with one star will go to the list
but i can see the list in iphone but not in itunes when i connect it, [smart List is empty].
can please someone tell me why ??!!!
i manage my music manually, i dont like to sync. [it work before so am sure there is a way]
so please tell me how to get the rating when i connect my iphone .

Thank you for the suggestion. I managed to find the iPhone device on the iMac under "shared" rather than "devices". It works great.

Not trying to start any argument here, but if you would have checked the requirements for using an iPad with iTunes on a computer, you would have seen that Windows 8 is not supported.

It may have something to do with a conflict with any antivirus or security software that you may be running. I don't know if you've read this, but here is Apple's support article for Windows. You say you keep fixing the problem - I assume you mean by reinstalling iTunes?

I've followed all instructions and the troubleshooter and my Iphone 3GS still does not show in Itunes 10.5 on my Macbook Pro with Lion installed. Any suggestions?

I tried a different cable and the iphone now shows up so I believe my cable had failed. Hope this is help to others troubleshooting a similar problem.

The question that I want to ask can you try device on other computer? Best choise to isolate issue is with iPhone or computer/os.

Everytime I send an email on my iphone using my gmail account the sent message does not show up on my macbook pro mail program. How do I syncronize all my email accounts.

Make sure you have the Find My Iphone app installed on your iPhone and that you are signed in on the app with the same Apple ID that you are on your other devices.

IPhone 4 does not show in iTunes on Windows

Complicated one here for everyone, I got my sister a Windows XP Pro on a Dell laptop (here in refered to as Dell) for Christmas. She wants to use Dell to sync her iPhone 4 running 4.2.8 but when she plugs it in it is only detected as an image device, but not in iTunes. Here are some details about what has been done so far.
Computers in use and short names:
my computer: MacBook Pro X.7.3.11D36 Dev (Macbook)
iTunes 10.5.2 (MacTunes)
attached to my itunes account
running as admin
her computer: Windows XP Pro on Dell (Dell)
Started with iTunes 10.4.? updated to:
iTunes 10.5.1 (downloaded this evening)(DellTunes)
attached to sister's itunes account
running as admin
When given to sister, could not import itunes libary from old windows xp computer to this one, so libary is fresh, music from the old itunes music folder
family computer: iMac X.7.3.? (FamilyMac)
iTunes 10.5.? (familyTunes)
attached to sister's itunes account
running as limited w/parental controls
Device info and short names:
her cell: iPhone 4 Verizon running 4.2.8 (here in called 4)initiallized and formated from FamilyMac
my current cell: iPhone 4s Verizon running 5.0.1 (4s)initilized and formated on Macbook
my old cell: iPhone 3g ATT running 4.2.1 or 2 (3g)initilized and formated on Macbook
Who works where:
4,4s,3g all initialized and last synced on FamilyMac, Macbook, Macbook respectivly
4,4s,3g all detect as normal on MacTunes
4,4s do NOT detect as normal on DellTunesDoes appear as an image device on Dell. software built into XP, much like image capture on Mac
3g DOES detect as and has been backed up to DellTunes
Following attempts have been tried and failed
plugged in 4 into Dell
disabled auto launch of image device software on Dell for 4
replugged in 4
plugged 4 into Macbook, showed up as normally expected
plugged 4s into Dell, does not show in DellTunes, does auto open image device software
downloaded and installed latest iTunes for Windows XP
plugged 4 and 4s into Dell, same results as before (steps 1,2,5)
ran itunes diagnostics, all settings reported fine except for detecting plugged in ipod/iphone
manually disabled and reabled ipod support service as stated in the help document linked to in 8
replugged 4 into Dell, same results as before
set msconfig to all off except for anything itunes related. applyed to both services and startup programs
repeat steps 7-10
plugged 3g into Dell, shows in Delltunes as normally expected
backed up 3g to Delltunes to conferm data would transpher. backup susessful.
removed 3g and replugged 4 into Dell, 4 gave same results as before (steps 1,2,5)
set msconfig to normal mode
replugged 3g into Dell, looked in device manager, shows under image devices and USB devices. Under USB devices shows as Apple moble device
switched to 4, looked again in device manager, only shows under image devices
gave up for the night and posted this
*note many times steps would be repeated a few times under both sister's account and admin's account on Dell, as well as a few reboots.
The confusing part is that the 3g works fine but not 4 or 4s. I would understand if itunes was older than that cellphone version but iTunes is as recent as possible. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong and what would fix it?

I tried to upgrade my ipad from 4.3.3 t o6.0 and now my ipad only shows anusb cable with an arrow to the itunes logo and my device does not appear in itunes when I connect it.

IPhone 6 does not show in iTunes when using WiFi

My iPhone 6+ shows up in iTunes when connected via USB. But if I disconnect the cable and turn off iTunes and then come back later it does not show up like my iPhone 5 did using OS 7.
I have the option selected in iTunes to "automatically connect using WiFi".
I have tried turning off my phone and restarting iTunes but it does not help.
Any suggestions?

It sounds as though you are attempting to sync with iTunes via WiFi, and are running into some complications. After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice concerning iTunes WiFi sync:
Sync using Wi-Fi
Open iTunes
To set up Wi-Fi syncing, connect your iOS device to your computer with the included USB cable.
Click the Device button in the upper-right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button first.) If you don't see your device, choose View > Hide Sidebar.
In the Summary tab, select "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi."
When the computer and the iOS device are on the same network, the iOS device will appear in iTunes, and you can sync it. The iOS device will sync automatically when the following conditions are true:
The iOS device is charging.
iTunes is open on the computer.
The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
While the iOS device is in the left-hand column of iTunes, you can select the content tabs and configure sync options.
Click Apply or Sync to sync the iOS device.
If the iOS device doesn't appear in the Devices section or you can't sync, please try these steps.

Iphone 3gs does not show in itunes

Recently my iphone 3gs intermittently (mostly not) shows under devices in itunes (10.4) on my imac (10.6.8). I tried restart on computer and iphone, different USB, removing then reinstalling itunes. Sometimes it shows up then disappears in the middle of synch, mostly doesn't show up at all with connection.

I tried a different cable and the iphone now shows up so I believe my cable had failed. Hope this is help to others troubleshooting a similar problem.

IPad does not show in iTunes devices

I wanted to install iOS 4.2 but cannot get my iPad recognized on iTunes.
When I plugged the iPad into the MBP I get an OK tone as usual.
It has been connected successfully in the past.
I have restarted both my MacBook Pro and iTunes in different orders.
My AppleTV shows up on devices every time.

I have tried everything and still iTunes will not recognize the iPad. From the other complaints it seems this is a big problem for many of us.
My problems started when the iTunes v10 was introduced. I still use 9.2.1. I am waiting because I have an AppleTV1 and wanted to see how it effects others with the first version. I really like my older AppleTV and have many items loaded.

After the last iTunes update my iPad and touch would not be recognized anymore in iTunes. I have tried all recommendations suggested. Not sure what happened? The only other thing I noticed was that neither the iPad or the touch were able to update the last time. This was before I updated iTunes.

Two very generic fixes/thoughts ..
Reboot your computer and reboot both devices and try again.
Disable antivirus software and try again.

Music on iPhone 5 does not show in iTunes

I want to take all of the music off my iPhone 5 and put different music on, but in iTunes there is nothing listed when I select the music tab on the phone. I know there is music on there so I'm not sure why the list is empty.
Also, I have loads of music on my mac, some of which is not mine, how do I stop music downloading to my phone via iCloud? My boyfriend has horrible taste in music and his stuff keeps playing on my phone when it is in shuffle!

Try the iTunes "Transfer Purchases" menu item. This will transfer music purchased through iTunes on your iPhone to your computer.
