Rating tracks locks up

If I double click select on my iPod and rate a track it seems to lock up in ratings mode. I can rate one track but then any other track I visit, I'm locked into ratings mode and using the wheel does nothing. I just see blank stars. Do I need to press something to get out of rating mode? Does anyone know. Thought it was a crash and reset, but it still happens. Can anyone please help?

  • Mono track locks iPod issue gotten worse?

So I've followed the long-running "mono track locks iPod" problem...you know, the one where a mono track (I think AAC, but I can't remember) is paused, the iPod turns off, and won't turn back on without a reset. Well, I just had it happen...while either at the very end or very beginning of a track that I ripped myself into 192 stereo AAC. I'm not sure of exactly where I paused it; I wasn't looking. I suppose this could be a random occurrence, but has anyone else had this happen when the track wasn't Mono?
General specs: iPod Photo 60; Firmware 1.2 (the one with the busted smart playlists). The tracks in question (if they matter) were tracks 4 and 5 of American Idiot ("Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and "Are We the Waiting"). Any ideas? I tried to recreate it, but no-go.

I am having the same problem. It doesn't matter what podcast I am in. I usuall play a game (Sudoku - downloaded from itunes) while listening and the two of them running at the same time is impossible now. When I am holding it, it also seems as if I am feeling (and I do hear) the HD spinning. I am wondering if there is a bad spot in it. Can you reformat the HD in the ipod? I've done everything else the site suggests!

  • Logic Control Track Lock

I do not want the Logic control to follow selections in the arrange when I select tracks in Logic. The manual says that if I turn Track Lock on, then track selections in logic will not effect the logic control, but it makes no difference when I turn it on. Is this a bug or am I missing something. I have 3 xts and I want them all to never change fader groups.

But LC does not relate to the Environment audio mixer, it relates to the Track Mixer. If you want your audio mixer in the environment to relate to LC, you''ll have to arrange the objects to match the track mixer.
BTW an easy way to make sure the track order matches the order in your environment is, when you set up the song, select and drag all the audio objects in the environment into the tracklist. (drop them on Track 1)
Generally this is only a good idea at the start, before you have any regions in place in the arrange tracks, as, if you do it when you have content, the audio in the tracks will be assigned to different audio objects to what they were originally. (Although, you can get around this, by cutting all the track content then changing the order, as I described, then doing: 'paste at original position' and select 'keep Inst.' in the dialog which follows.)

  • With track locking why does it take longer to --

1.) With track locking, why does it say so much longer to "Save As" and to create bakcup copies of songs?
2.) If after I lock tracks to improve performance can I unlock them for the purpose of faster "Save As" and copies?

I found from my experience that if one deletes the freeze files to save space but does not unlock the tracks GB will not search for the files upon opening but rather will recreate the locked tracks after you click "Play".
I just wanted to clarify that. I didn't want anyone to think GB will open a tune and then begin a search right away. It won't happen until you click play.
Heres my reasoning for leaving the tracks locked and deleting the freeze tracks and not unlocking them before hand.
If I leave the tracks locked and then delete the files I don't have to remember later which tracks I wanted locked and which ones I did not want locked. All I need to do is open the file and click play. Its actually more convenient. If you unlock the tracks first then delete the files you have to go back later and relock the ones you wanted. TO me thats a much easier way to remember things.
I agree with you whole heartily when it comes to "Save As Archive". Its the only way to save.
"Save" And "Save As" only creates a pointer to your files in and from the "Project Data" file. They do not add AIFF files taken from GB browser to the "Media" folder. Only a recorded instrument (vocal or instrument) or a file dropped into time line are saved in the media folder using "Save" or "Save As". Or in other words anything from "Outside" the GB browser.
MIDI instruments recorded into GB are not kept in the Media folder after a "Save" or Save As" or unfortunately "Save As Archive".
"Save as Archive" saves all the files you currently have in the GB timeline (except MIDI data) in the Media Folder. A nice, safe, sure way to know all your intended files will be there when you open your tune or burn it to a disc and return it in the future. This is why I always use it. It does of course make you .band file much larger.
Recently I have tested the .band files for operator usefulness and error to try to alleviate the somewhat unfounded fears placed upon opening the file with the "Show Package Contents" function.
Sure thing can go wrong if your careless when you open the .band file but its not as is clicking any of the audio file will hurt anything.
You can play many of these files saved under "Save as Archive" with the finder.
I have found that if you ACCIDENTLY toss out any AIFF files that were taken from the GB browser and placed into the timeline that this will not hinder your .band file from opening. GB will still open and play your file as it normally would and when you "Save As Archive " again those browser files will be replaced in the media folder. Even if you have looped them, cut them, shortened them.
If you ACCIDENTLY toss out a file added to the timeline or a recorded instrument or vocal then your in trouble because it is gone but the GB file will still open. GB will tell you it can't find the file and ask if you want to search for it.
Now if you Toss out your "Project FIle" then your screwed. The .band file will not open and the game is over.
Why do I even mention all this? Not to annoy anyone or go to battle over the subject but simply to mention that I have tested every scenario and that opening the .band file and clicking around will not harm a thing. Clicking around will not harm anything or damage your file. Just leave the "Project Data" file alone.

  • Audio tracks: lock vs disconnect?

Hi, all. I'm new to iMac and FCE Express. I'm not sure I understand the functional difference between locking the audio tracks versus disconnecting them. Don't both functions do the same thing?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

Yes, I guess I'm referring to the patch panel.
So you're saying that if I UNpatch, say, an audio track, and I have a clip in the Viewer that has both video AND audio, moving it to the timeline with the UNpatched audio track will move the video portion only, and not the new clip's audio?
I'm sorry, I don't mean to be an idiot about all this. I think I understand the concept of LOCKING and UNLOCKING the tracks in the timeline. I'm just not getting the whole thing of PATCHING and UNPATCHING tracks, and when patching and unpatching is to be used instead of locking and unlocking. It's a mental block of some sort??
    Thanks,
    Jeff

  • NWDI - Track locked for editing in another session

While editing Track Data in the CMS Landscape Configurator my browser session died unexpectedly.  I logged back in, but now when I try to enter Change mode on the Track Data tab, I get a message saying the "Track is locked for editing by (me) in another session".  How do I unlock the track?  I have searched Help documents, SAP Notes, and this forum but have not found any details.
    Version is NetWeaver 2004s SP13
Edited by: Ray Erdelyan on Jan 14, 2008 8:08 PM
A co-worker helped me figure it out.  We went to the visual administrator and killed the session.  That released the lock.

    Hi,
Usually the browser session will get unlocked on its own after some particular time. Incase this is not so in your case, a restart of the CMS server might help.

  • Track locked! Help!!!

I can't get a chunk of a guitar solo unlocked. It says the track is locked but the "protect button" is not engaged. I can hear the sample play when I open it in the "sample editor window" but it is greyed out in the "Arrange window". What can I do?
    Message was edited by: TheAndyManCan

Thanks Jaap for the attempted resolution...however as you can see (on the screenshot), that has already been done. The "lock" is open and grey (not closed and highlighted in green)...I already went through that one by myself. It's as if there's a software conflict...because everything I've looked up so far has pointed me to something I've already tried...having read through the user manual. I'm still hoping someone points out something simple I may have overlooked...any of you Apple Pro's out there watching? HELP????!!!!!!!! --Andy

  • Audio tracks locked yet the track still gets bumped out

I'm editing a music video. I put the audio track for the song onto the first/second line of the timeline and locked the tracks. Then I added a video clip and the audio for that bumped the locked audio out of the other lines! It's never done that for me before, how do I get it to QUIT?

    Hi,
Assuming that you really locked the audio track (see the diagonal lines running all along the locked track):
you might be experiencing some bizarre behavior, which [trashing the preferences|http://www.digitalrebellion.com/pref_man.htm] could fix.
    Try that,

  • Turn off Track lock slanted shade effect?

Is there any way to turn off the slanted line shading effect that happens everytime you lock tracks? It makes the time look way too busy and obstructs clip names.

    Not that I've ever found...

  • Status and Tracking: Lock Function overide due to status change?

    Hello experts,
Does anybody know whether it is standard functionality that a user with only R_STS_PT authorisation can unlock his/her planning by changing the status to "in process"?
Should it not be the case that I higher hierarchy node or someone with R_STS_SUP authorisation must first unlock the plannig before for somone with only R_STS_PT authorasation can perform any status change? I am currently unsure whether what we are observing is a feature or a bug which we had previously not noticed.
    Thanks in advance,
    Will

    Hi William,
Persons responsible for executing the planning process i.e. the User (Auth: R_STS_PT) are assigned to an area of responsibility (hierarchy node) within a subplan. They are either assigned to their own area of responsibility directly or are assigned as a substitute. The person responsible uses the STS, firstly to jump to his or her planning application, secondly to set the status of his or her own planning, and thirdly to monitor and set the status of any people who may be assigned under them.
For example, the person responsible for node 11 of the subplan u201Ccost center planningu201C  logs on to planning session 1 in the STS. In this way he or she can obtain the detailed view for his or her cost center.
Auth: R_STS_SUP is for Planning Coordinators for monitoring the entire planning process and thus have special access rights. So R_STS_PT & R_STS_SUP are the same, except that you are only allowed to set certain statuses of a task on the basis of the hierarchy levelto which you are assigned (this means, whether you are executing (R_STS_PT) or supervising a particular planning task (R_STS_SUP))

  • Locked track problem

I have a locked track in a project in the new Garageband that I cannot unlock. Anyone else had this experience. If so, any solutions?

. I think there's a bug in the project because another of my tracks reduces its volume as the piece of music plays. It's bizarre, watching the volume slider move to the left of its own will!
The volume slider usually only moves on its own will, if there is a volume automation added to the track. Have you checked the automation curves on the track? Even with the track locked, you should be able to disable the automation.

  • On garageband 10.0.1 i locked the tracks, bur now can't open them . what to do?

On garageband  10.0.1 i locked the tracks on a project and now can't unlcok them. What to do?

Does the track lock show in the Track heads? If not, use the Track manu to show the Track locks. in the Track header
Tracks > Track header > Show track locks.
When the locks are showing in te Track headers, press them to disable them.

If you have not enabled Find My iPad, you cannot track, lock or wipe your iPad.
