Rattling sound when computer starts

Hi, I've been using HP 430 notebook and currently have Windows 8.1 pro (32 bit) installed. Recently I am having an issue and it concerns me a lot. When it starts up it makes a rattling sound for a couple of seconds and then its all gone. After start up everything is fine again. It doesn't happen evey time though. I've been using my pc for about 3 years and never needed any servicing or anything of that sort. Should I be worried (if not already!)? What might cause this and what needs to be done now?

No one is going to know this problem like that on here. You need to take it to a shop and have them see if first hand to know what might be the cause.

  • Buzzing sound when computer starts or wakes up

    Hi Guys,
completed my first build a couple weeks ago and everything going well so far.
There is a small annoyance however.  Whenever the computer boots up or wakes up, there is a static sound coming from my speakers plugged into the case headphones ...

You can make your own recovery media, it wont be the same as the original from MSI, but all you would need to do is download the drivers and utilities.

  • Why do I get an interminable siren sound when I start FF?

I'm using FF 3.6.3. I get an interminable siren sound when FF Starts. I can't get it to stop unless I go to Control Panel and turn sound to MUTE. This is unacceptable behavior for FF. Is there anything I can do to get it to stop?

  • Diskdrive buzzes when computer starts

When I start up my macbook, the disk drive makes an awful rattling/buzzing sound as if it is trying to start up a disk. ( Which I do not believe exists in the drive)

  • How to turn off sound when iMac starts up

how to turn off or turn down sound when my imac starts up

    debrafromusa,
This would be an extremely bad idea, the start up tone is there for a reason. It tells you when your system is attempting to  boot, it is also necessary in the even resets like a PRAM reset are done. There is software to mask the sound however as stated it is a very poor idea.
Also, why turn it off. Why not simply put the display to sleep when the machine is not in use. You can easily do that in System Preferences - Energy Saver

  • Rattling sound when using Shake to Shuffle

When I shake my ipod to shuffle songs there's a rattling sound which sounds like somethings loose inside my ipod is this normal?

No. Have you ever dropped the iPod Nano? You can always have it checked out at an Apple Store if worried.

  • Can Lion be set so iCal will open and display calendar when computer starts

I have Lion and the new iCal on a MacBook Air purchased a few weeks ago.  I set iCal as one of the applications that opens when I login in the Users & Groups in System Preferences.  So iCal opens when I start the computer (automatic login to the single user I have set up) but it doesn't open the calendar page.  I would like to have the calendar page open up when I start up the computer without having a lot of other applications and windows open as well.
    Any suggestions?  Thanks

Rysz - thanks that was the problem - I missed that Hide was checked.

  • Problem when computer starts

when i start my computer , i see an error message ie "cannot find script file " and it gives the location of the file which is C/users/hanumanji/appdata/ roaming/adobe32/invis.vbs

Yes, that suspected malware (invis.vbs) is already gone from your computer; that's why you get that error during startup.
There are several ways programs can be called during the startup.  If you don't know which method is used to call that file, use a program like CCleaner to delete startup items.  There are a number of other programs that can do the same.

  • How does one get huey pro to start up when computer starts in morning

Huey Pro is a sensor that measures and monitors the light in the room so that colors are rendered as acccurately as possible.  Once I calibrated the screen and device, it should fire up when I restart the computer but it dos not.  the icon in the system folder when clicked, says that the system preference folder needs to restart, the it will fire up.
So How does one get this to start early.
    Robert

    Hi Robert
I am not sure that you can make the Huey Pro work correctly.Worked fine on windows but it was the one programme for me that I have never had success with on the Mac.
I have checked the Huey web site for info but the support seems to have stopped.
So the only way I can do it is to wait until the Icon is in the top right section of the screen, note that a white cross is in it and then click on the Icon in the dock open up the programme until the Start bit occurs then just click the close button. That fixes it for me.

  • IPhoto 6 launching when computer starts

Hi, it seems out of the blue that my iPhoto 6 program is launching automatically as soon as my computer is finished starting up. Is there any way I can keep the program from opening automatically?
    Take Care,
    Jess

    Jess,
Unless you have a camera or a card reader with a card in it connected to your computer at all times, you might want to see if iPhoto was accidentally set to open at login. If it's in your Dock, hold down on the iPhoto icon to get a menu. If "Open at Login" has a check mark in it, then you need to select that item again to remove the check mark.
Alternatively, in System Preferences, go to Accounts, click on your account, and then the Login Items tab. If iPhoto is listed there, select it, and click the minus to remove it from the list.

  • Zipping sound when booting/starting/waking up on rMBP 13"

    Hi,
Whenever I boot my retina macbook 13 inch up from sleep mode, or from when its completely turned off, there is a zipping sound in the upper right corner of the body of the machine. The sound comes from right underneath the power button.
This is actually my third replacement macbook pro, and I've never heard this sound on either of the two from before.
The sound is quite similar to the optical disk drive revving up for operation on a non-retina macbook pro, but obviously there is no optical drive on the rMBP. It is very similar to the sound of zipping up a sweater very quickly, or the sound of zipping up the fly of a pair of pants (for us guys )
Could someone please tell me if this is normal? In all honesty, I don't want to go for a fourth macbook... I just want this to not affect how the machine will operate in the future.
    Thank you

I figure it may be the fan revving up for use. But I don't know why it would make this kind of noise.
This is the sound that I'm hearing:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/mrsxs8n23whywlh/Voice00002.3gp
(It is the sound at 5~6 seconds)
Could I get some thoughts from everyone? Thanks!

  • Laptop speakers make a squeeky sound when it starts playing audio

Whenever my laptops makes a sound and it hasn't made a sound in a while i hear a little squeek before the audio start, I'm using a DV6-3020ED. I think i read before about this problem but i cant find anymore information at the moment. Please help...

    > Is the file normalized correctly?
Please don't tell me that any form of "normalization" was used at all!!
    Such a bad idea.
    Things to look for.
1 - Why the 448 bitrate? You're legal as far as it goes, but I would like to know why.
2 - What Dolby Digital Encoder did you use - it wasn't Encore. Was it a properly licensed one?
3 - What is the peak level of the original PCM file? Should *not* be more than -6dB at the hottest (depending on destination)
4 - If the file was close to 0dBFS peak, was the RF overmodulation protection set to ON or OFF?
5 - Where in the file is this click? Beginning? End? In the middle?
If at the beginning, have you made certain that the 2 second audioblack is there? Is the file faded in properly? Slow decoders can cause a click by taking time locking down on a stream.
