Rave reviews about v7... unbelievable!

Just thought I'd do a search on google for iTunes 7 reviews. There's not one mention about the sound bugs in any of them. Just goes to show that so-called-reviewers are any but, and the reviews are probably based on previews instead. Otherwise they would have quickly picked up on the sound problems. That, or they decided to leave out this - obviously insignicant - detail.
About s/w companies releasing software that's obviously not ready is becoming more and more prevalent it appears. Even a beta is supposed to be workable with no known problems but lately - not just Apple - they seem to think it's ok to release paid for s\w in an alpha state.
I'm sure they are working hard for a fix. Has anyone emailed Apple directly yet and recieved an acknowledgement about the sound problem?

Why would they lock a thread for a genuine complaint.
Most likely because it was ONLY a complaint with no one stating any specific problems except that iTunes needs to be fixed.

How do we know why you can't submit a review if we don't know what you have tried?
Tap on Ratings and Review, then tap on Write A Review and a window pops up asking for your Apple ID password. Once the password is verified another window pops up in which you can tap on the "star" rating that you want to give and you can type your review and submit it. What isn't working for you?

Was going to buy Numbers until I read reviews about full screen

There's a lot of complaints about the latest version of Numbers on iTunes, mostly about Fullscreen not working...?

Depends on what your looking to do. The full screen mode allowed you to hide all th controls and just display the info on the screen. The other thing that I really liked was the ability to highlight a random data Nd see some common calc results like sum and average displayed in a floating window.
If you do not hav the app yet, and we're not used ot the feature, I cannot see how it would be a serious issue, as you wouldn't have it in your processes yet.
If you were hoping to have the functionality and cannot use the entire app due to that ommition, then I would say don't buy it.

I paid for and downloaded an iPhone app. I've also sent the app as gifts. Yet, the system keeps telling me I can't write a review unless I've either paid or downloaded. I tried to review from both my laptop (where the app resides in ITunes) AND my iPhone (where the app also appears.)

If your Mac can run the System, buy the System at the AppStore. Mt. Lion will be directly available. For Lion visit an Apple Store and buy a thumbs drive installer.

Some small review about N93

To start i would like to say that nokia is an excelent enterprise, and its mobile phones are among the best in the market, but i think that i have found some problems, and with this i would like to know if it hapes with others as well.
The problems first, the phone just keeps on crashing, for no aparently reason it shuts down and there you are taking off the batery and turning it on again, its a bit boring and sometimes gets on your nerves as you are sending an email ou something. after that is the anoying optical zoom noise, associated with an below expectations image quality. another problem is a constant service message saying that i have no more memory to recieve messages although i have a few bites filled in my phone memory and in the memory card that i use to recieve messages. another problem that i find is a certain lack of hardness on the flip/rotation sistem of the display, it shakes a lot, i dont know about you others that have purchased the n93. for now i think thats all in terms of problems.
But this phone as excelent things too, the excelent video quality, grafics and productivity software. I'd be pleased to hear if you have the same problems and others that might be found. and if you know how to configure a sitecom router to acess to internet over the phone say something.

Open letter to HTC and VZW

I'm a die hard VZW fan. I have been with them for over 5 years. Never had any problems with their network, no dropped calls, excellent signal, and quality hardware from its makers. I even "converted" a couple of my friends over to the VZW network from one of their competitors. My initial android device was Motorola Droid. Yes the first droid. Finally VZW offered a third choice to my phone selection, the other being Microsoft and Apple. I love the network and heard rave reviews about HTC devices and how open they were. Great battery life and the rest.
When time came about for me to upgrade to a new phone. My Moto Droid still works but was dying for the latest and greatest. I jumped right on over to the HTC thunderbolt. At the time, there wasn't any other choice for me. It didn't make sense to me to jump to another 3g phone since in two years time all phone will probably be on 4g. I ordered the Thunderbolt the second week it came out. I was stoked. I knew that I couldn't use 4g yet. I live in Portage, MI but I travel to Grand Rapids, MI every weekend. So I knew sometime in 2011 I could use 4g.
A couple weeks ago I went on vacation and the very first city I used 4g in was Denver. I was stoked at how fast it was. I switched it between using 4g to 3g cause I noticed my battery draining very fast. But wow. . . even the 3g was faster in Denver than it was where I live. I loved the thunderbolt except for the battery life.
I knew that a OTA would come out and was checking for a software update every now and then during my vacation. I was hoping this would fix the battery issue. It kinda did but. . . . now I'm suffering from random reboots. Im looking on forum sites and saw an article on Engadget about the reboots.
The camel's back is slowly breaking here. I got home and went back to work. I noticed that my phone would reboot about 8 times all before noon. The first day it has done that I went to the local verizon store. The rep told me that VZW is working with HTC for a fix and it wouldn't be 3 to 4 months out either.   It would be sooner than that.
So what is happening now withe my thunderbolt? I cannot do data from my home from whence I could get a 3g data signal. Sometimes its 1x, sometimes its 3g but unable to do any data transfers. I'm unable to do data while I'm on the phone. My calls drop because my phone will reboot during a call from time to time. And just this last weekend, my phone got stuck in a reboot cycle, HTC white screen, the thunderbolt animation, the cloud screen and then poof, back to the HTC white screen. I ended up calling Verizon tech support, for help. I took out my battery and put it back in. Ok I'm back to the homescreen and it seems to be responsive. And then I was told by the VZW tech support person that no one else is having reboot issues. My jaw dropped.
Service and quality of software (firmware included) have been quite subpar from what I am used to. I know that implementing a new technology takes lots of testing yet some how I don't think enough testing was done. Even from the design aspect, the thunderbolt seems to have its pit falls. For instance: the inability to charge the Thunderbolt while using the kickstand.   I know not every device is going to be perfect.
I some how feel that VZW or HTC owes Thunderbolt users something. No I don't want a refurbished phone. I would like a brand new HTC thunderbolt with the ability to: 1. not have reboots 2. no dropped calls 3. Ability to do data and voice at the same time (hence why there are two radios inside)   4. Have network reliability back
Or offer me the 2 year discounted price to jump over to another HTC 4g device or even another 4g phone. My confidence is waning with HTC and VZW. I'm also seriously considering paying the amount to break my contract if you don't break it for me when you go to tiered data. I'd even be happy with you offering to pay one month's bill or a portion of it to hold me over for the next month or so til we have a fix OTA update.

How to move my itunes library from my PC to my iMac

Hi, I need to move my iTunes library off an old Windows laptop and on to my new iMac. The library is approx 100Gb in size. I searched and searched and can't believe Apple don't have an app for this. I found a third party app called CopyTrans TuneSwift which i read rave reviews about so paid my $15 USD for it and gave it a go. The backup worked well. Then came the part of downloading the Mac restore file. Once I tried to run this on the iMac, I recieved an error saying that the developer is not registered with Apple and could be a dangerous file.
I paid $4000 US for this iMac and yes I don't want to screw up the op system on day one. I can hold down the Control key and clicking to run the CopyTrans App to bypass the Apple security but I never want to do things like this... I want to keep the iMac clean and stable.
What to do now.
How can I move the iTunes library safely from my Windows laptop to my iMac.
Can anyone help.

In Need of a good Notes App for taking Notes in Mathematics.

I am a college student and do everything on my iPad now. I take notes on my iPad, but in math I need to draw my notes. Anyone else take math notes on their iPad 2? What app works best for you? I've bought three different apps and they are difficult to use. I use a stylus to draw math notes as well.

Connecting macbook pro to HP all in one?

Like many of you, I bought the airport express to print wireless. having spent hours trying to set this up after reading rave reviews about this product Im ready to return it and buy a wireless printer. The yellow light is constantly flashing on the express unite. Ive set up step by step and manually and still doesnt work. I cant tell you the order ive tried because ive tired every combination there is. Once I was able to get the light to turn green but it wouldnt print still. I hooked the printer up to my macbook and it worked just fine wired. But all im getting with wireless is aggrivation. Is there any solution for this problem? The description of the Unite says its ment to print wireless but so many people are having issues. I only bought this from all the possitive reviews if read from the big electronic stores. Everyone said instalation was easy. Where are those people to come to our rescue? haha. If it makes a difference my printer is a HP PCS2355. Thanks.

Just to be clear, your HP model number starts with PSC not PCS. I'm only pointing that out in case someone wants to Google a PCS which doesn't exist. The HP PSC 2355 is not a wireless printer so I hope you're connecting it via USB to the Airport Express.

It seems as if your AX isn't getting an IP address. Are you using a wireless network now? If so, what kind of wireless router do you have - an Apple Airport, or something else?
Even if you had a wireless printer, it would have to get an IP address from somewhere. Since that's not happening with your AX, we have to solve that problem first.

Unable to view AdobeTV tutorials on Lightroom

I recently purchased LR 3 since I kept hearing rave reviews about it being more useful than PS. However, I seem to have a stumbling block about getting started using it.
I was able to watch several of the PS CS4 tutorials, but have only been able to get a couple of the LR videos to actually work. Most of the time they just hang with the three lights blinkling forever. I am using WinXP SP3 with IE8 and 4 MB RAM. I have the latest version of Flash (10.2) and have upgraded my Intel WiFi driver. My download speed is about 1 Mb/s.
Is there anything else I can check or do to make Flash Player work consistently?

I'm afraid that AdobeTV is the only place where I'm facing this restriction. I can watch streaming Netflix videos and YouTube most of the time altho there may occasionally be some buffering.
The odd thing is that I can watch some of the tutorials, e.g. PS4, and others, especially Lightroom, hang consistently. Could the Adobe server not be providing enough bandwidth?
I'm not sure on the bandwidth, since I'm not familiar with LR. There is something about AdobeTV that other users have trouble with. I'll see if I have anything on it.

Converting .wmv to .dv?

Hi All,
I'm sorry, I know this is a boring topic and probably comes up all the time but I am yet to find the answer.
The short version of my story goes as follows:
My dear father has volunteered me to create a fun video for his work's 75th anniversary, and they've asked people from all over the place to send in their little congratulations video for me to include. They're coming in, in all sorts of formats and I'm slowly finding ways to convert them into files that iMovie can read. I've just been hit with my biggest challenge so far, the dreaded .wmv code.
So can anyone help me out here? I can't afford to spend much money but if it's going to take me buying something to get this file in iMovie then I'll just have to do it. This of course is all assuming that it is best to convert files to .dv to be played in iMovie...if that's not the best way to go, then what should I convert them to, and how?!

This will be an interesting search, which I started myself as a long time Money user a while ago. Until now have not found a decent replacement, but maybe it's because I'm using some advanced features in Money like tracking employee stock options and complex split transactions. Just like you, I don't care about connectivity to banks, but I do care a lot about getting daily updated exchange rates and stock quotes, also from markets outside the US.
Some recommendations:
Everybody has different requirements: don't look too much to the reviews, but try the app out yourself, as most apps offer a trial version. It's you who has to decide if you're comfortable with the features and the user interface, not a reviewer or us on this forum. I read rave reviews about many packages, but in the end they couldn't do what I wanted them to do, or they they didn't do it in a way I could live with.
In case you intend to bring over your existing Money data, look and also try the import capabilities, either the original Money format or QIF and CSV, which Money can export.
Take also into account how active the developer is in terms of upgrading their app: you don't want to be stuck with 10 years of financial data in an app that won't run on the next version of OS X. In this context I can recommend you to be very hesitant moving to Quicken: you'll find tons of posts on these forums about this subject.
Apart from Moneydance, which has already been recommended before, two other apps you might want to look at are See Finance and iBank. I both consider them worthy successors to Money, but in my case they just miss some of the advanced features I need.
As an alternative you can always run Money under Windows in a virtual machine using Parallels, VM Fusion or VirtualBox. This is what I actually do, with my Money file in a Mac OS X Shared Folder, nicely backed up by Time Machine every hour. Not ideal, but until it will do for the moment.

Creative PlayDock Z500 loud audible speaker hi

I ordered a Creative PlayDock Z500 Portable speaker system from Amazon and the unit has come from Avides Media AG in Germany.
Unfortunately there seems to be a fault with the Z500, because there is a loud audible hiss coming from the speakers.
The hiss is the same despite the Vision M player in the docking station playing music or if there is no player docked.
If you play music and turn up the volume, then the hiss is drowned out by the music which is fine for rocking tunes. But for the more chilled songs with quiet parts the hiss is very noticeable.
The other strange feature about the hiss, is when the you turn the volume up with no music playing (or no player docked) the hissing gets quieter. As you wind the volume down the hissing gets louder, until you reach the minimum volume point then the speakers just go silent. Then just one small rotation clockwise then brings the speaker hiss back again.
I have read plenty of rave reviews about the sound quality of Z500, and I can't believe that this hiss is present on all units.
Has anyone else experienced this problem, and better still successfully had their unit replaced?
I have started the ball rolling by sending an email to Avides to see if they will replace my unit.
