Raw 4.6 "unable to support further adjustments"

In the readme file for Camera Raw 4.6 it says "...at this time Camera Raw 4.6 is unable to support further adjustments to the following settings or tools: Clone/Heal Opacity Post Crop Vignette Graduated Filter Adjustment Local Adjustment Brush"
It then continues to say "the controls currently available...will continue to function normally..."
Bottom line is I am not really sure what is being said here. When I clone an area in LR and reduce the opacity of the clone and open it with LR Adjustments it shows properly as does a Post Crop Vignette.
The Read Me also talks about LR adjustments that are not available in Camera Raw 4.6 and clearing them by choosing "Clear Imported Settings". Should this be done for all my thousands of images?
Anyone that can give clarification to all of this ?

Based on past Camera Raw releases and current CS4 documentation ...
Camera Raw 4.x operates in Photoshop CS3. The latest version (4.6) can read and render the new Lr 2 adjustments but cannot make any further adjustments.
Camera Raw 5.x - available only in Photoshop CS4 - will be able to make identical adjustments - with a different UI - as in Lr 2. Camera Raw 5.x will not function in Photoshop CS3.

I suspect this will remove any adjustments that cannot be created in 4.6. No need to remove them unless you want or need to.

Camera Raw 3.7 no longer supports per slider auto adjustments

Nobody else resent this "improvement"?
Now the only way to have the image properly scaled (while not affecting everyting else by the automatic guesswork) is to have the settings in custom non-automatic default and then one has to use the Exposure slider manually with the aid of the Highlights Clipping Warning, for each and every image.
Compared to the 3.6 where this is fully automatic and works very very well.

sorry for the confusion, it is indeed shift double click and double click to change from auto to standard.
If you use your own created standard setting both automatic and standard on top of the sliders are blue colored and visible. Using auto does gray out the auto setting and using standard does gray out this option which is logical because you have to click on the highlighted option to change.
So this is the way to see in what mode you are.

Important Notes Regarding Camera Raw 3.7
There are several significant changes to Camera Raw 3.7 in how it handles auto and default settings:
Applying auto settings by default is no longer controlled on a model by model basis, but instead there is a single global preference checkbox Apply auto tone adjustments that controls this adjustment for all camera models at once.
Camera Raw 3.7 no longer supports per slider auto adjustments. One Auto control at the top of the panel now sets the Exposure, Shadows, Brightness, and Contrast sliders to their auto values. The Default control at the top of the panel sets these same four sliders to their default values. The keyboard shortcut for the Auto control is CMD/CTRL-U.
The keyboard shortcut for the Default control is CMD/CTRL-R.
Double clicking on a slider to set that single slider to its default value.
Shift double clicking on a slider to set that single slider to its auto value.
Previously, default image settings could only be applied per camera model. Camera Raw 3.7 can now:
-Apply default image settings specific to a camera serial number
-Apply default image settings specific to a camera ISO setting
The additional criteria are located in the Camera Raw preferences.
The default settings (including the global auto preference) are now shared with the DNG Converter.
The DNG Converter requires OS X 10.3.9 as a minimum operating system.

I have photoshop CS4 with the newest update. I'm a photographer and just purchased the new canon 7d mk II. Today, I shot some photos on raw but am unable to pull them up in photoshop. A window pops up saying "photoshop cannot recognize this type of file.

Adobe Camera Raw 5.7 is the latest for Photoshop CS4 Adobe - Photoshop : For Windows
The problem is that your new camera is supported by ACR 8.7 and only Photoshop CS6 and up supports this version.
So if you do not want to buy CS6 or subscribe to the $10/month Photography Program, you have to convert the CR2 files to DNG to work on them. Your original CR2s are untouched in the process, you just can't directly edit them in CS4, only the DNGs.
Maybe Canon offers editing software for their CR2s, but CS4 is not going to be updated and there is no way around that.
It's not what you want to hear, but that's the situation so far.
Maybe Elements or Lightroom has updated raw support for your camera, so I encourage you to visit those forums and ask.

Will there be a RAW plugin for Elements 12 supporting the Canon EOS 7D MkII - or when will the DNG converter for this be available?

I've just bought a Canon EOS 7D MkII but cannot open the RAW files in Elements 12. I also can't use the latest DNG Converter to convert them - will either option become available and if yes how long is it likely to take please?

Hi,
The Canon 7D Mk II is currently not supported by any version of camera raw.
It is expected that Camera raw 8.7 will include support and we are hoping that it will be released soon.
PSE 12 has ceased to be updated - you will either need to update to PSE 13 or use the DNG 8.7 converter (when it becomes available) to convert the CR2 files to DNG files - PSE 12 will then beable to use the DNG files.

Camera RAW and Photoshop won't support RAW photos from my new Panasonic Lumix FZ70

I have a new camera, Panasonic Lumix FZ70. When I try to open RAW images on my compupter or in Photoshop CS5.1, I get a message that says Camera Raw and Photoshop don't support RAW images from this camera. What can I do to fix this? Thank you!

Support is available with ACR 8.2 release which works with PS CS6 and CC.

Conference Me "CDEP: Unable to degrade further"

Hi all,
One of our customer says that the quality of video sent from MCU4220 via Conference Me is very low.
They tried some bandwidth between the PC and the MCU, but results were same.
On the diagnostics of Conference Me of the PC, we can see "CDEP: unable to degrade further".
Does this message mean the PC requires more low quality video but the MCU can't degrade video quality any more?

At that time we had no MCU4200 so we used ConferenceMe 1.0(1.2) downloaded from MCU4510 3.1(2.13) instead and it worked fine.
Now I compared Confence Me version 1.0(1.2) to Confence Me version 1.2(1.4) downloaded from MCU4501 4.4(3.49).
Starangely Conference Me 1.0(1.2) can receive larger video than 1.2(1.4)

Printer says "Unable to support AUTH_INFO_REQUIRED"

I've got a new iMac running Mountain Lion 10.8.5 with a Xerox Phaser 6700DN attached via USB and shared. Other macs can send one print job. After that, there's an error "Unable to support AUTH_INFO_REQUIRED" until they remove and re-add the printer. Googling that literal phrase turned up nothing, which surprised me.

I figured out a way to fix this with my new Apple TV!
After trying EVERYTHING!...(Trust me, I had tried EVERYTHING!) including restoring Apple TV to the original factory settings....reconiguring in every-which possible way.....
Here's what I did to make it work.
I happened to be in the "Settings" app of my iPhone, where I did something with the calendar settings for iCloud.
There, it prompted me to read the new "Terms & Conditions". I agreed to them and then went directly to my Apple TV and it immediately worked.
This was after WEEKS of trying EVERYTHING!
So the key is to get an Apple device to prompt you with the new "Terms & Conditions". Once you've agreed to it, you should find that Apple TV will let your PhotoStream work again!

ClicktoFlash or similar is the easiest way to do that. You can then normally right-click on a list of video resolutions & treat it just as any other file.
Newer Safari's don't have the same Activity window, although enabling the Develop menu from Safari - Preferences - Advanced gives access to various Web Inspector functions which include listing the page resources, albeit differently from the old way.

How do I fix the problem of unable to create local adjustments in raw

It used to work when I first installed Cs5 and now gradients and gradient brus just comes up with the error that All local adjustment controls are set to have no effect on the image. How do I fix this problem?

Try changing the values of the sliders in the panel to the right first. I think it's telling you they're all just set (e.g., center scale) so that you won't see any results from the tool.

Fujifilm S5 Pro RAW-Files: Aperture unable to recover the R-Pixel values ?

I have some overexposed S5 Pro RAW files. With Adobe ACR it is easily possible to recover the hightlight areas - ACR also takes the R-Pixel into account and recovers a photo with a huge dynamic range.
Prior buying i am currently using Apple Aperture. Aperture seems unable to take the R-Pixel into account and seems using only the S-Pixel. I am unable to revover the whole dynamic range in the same photos with Aperture. Sky areas are mostly clipped and clouds can not be recovered. But with Adobe ACR its easy and not a problem.
Maybe Aperture uses only the basic S-Pixel and not the R-Pixel, maybe Apple has forgotten this important feature of the Fujifilm S5 Pro.
Its also possible that i am overlooking some small checkerboxes to invoke this extra feature ?
Does someone has any ideas ?

I have the same problem using the RAW-Files of the S5 pro with Aperture. I really would use this greate Apple-Software but I switched to Adobe Lightroom. In Lightroom my Camera is fully supported.

Why are my RAW format files no longer supported?

Using a Mac OS X 10.5.8 with versions of Adobe Photoshop CS5, Adobe Bridge CS5 and Camera Raw Plug-in.
Shot .CR2 raw format photos on my Canon EOS 450D (Same as Rebel XSi)
Have always been able to open them successfully in Camera Raw and Photoshop. Now says that the files and/or my camera model/make is not supported by the Camera Raw Plug-in nor by my Photoshop.
Tried converting to DNG first with Adobe DNG Converter 7.1 and even that says that the source folder does not contain any supported camera raw files.
Previous raw files taken with the same camera on the same computer with the same (or even earlier) versions of all these programs have always worked. I can still open those successfully too. However just these new ones I cannot. Nothing has changed about my camera in that time...
What can I do and why is it that these files are no longer supported?

ACR 6.7 and ACR 7.1 RC can open XSi CR2 files at least on Windows 7. I just checked.
However, on Windows, at least, the DNGC 7.1 RC has a quirk in that when you want to convert a folder of CR2s to DNGs, you have to click the Select button when the folder is highlighted in the file selection dialog and the folder listed in the location area of the file selection dialog. You cannot click INTO the folder and then click Select, which sounds like what you are doing. If you do click into the folder and click Select it’ll say there are no compatible files that exist. I think previous versions of the DNGC would recover properly if you clicked into the folder before clicking Select.
Since your files cannot be opened in ACR, either, then perhaps they are corrupted. You might post a download link to one of them in a message here so others can have a look. If you don’t have a large file hosting service, then set up a free account on www.dropbox.com or www.yousendit.com or similar, upload your file, there, then post the public download link, here, in a reply.

Adobe Camera Raw 5.3 does not support Canon EOS 500D

Hi,
I just bought a new Canon EOS 500D and it seems that Adobe Raw 5.3 (i.e. LR2 and CS4) do not support the new (or better changed) Canon RAW format (CR2).
Does anyone know when this camera model / RAW format will be supported?
Any ideas for workarounds?

If the camera allows it, shoot raw+JPEG, that way, you can still use/work with the JPEG version, until the CR2 of the 500D will be supported.
You can also contact Canon and suggest them to take a competitive edge over Nikon by embracing the DNG format, that would have allowed support at release date, in many raw converters programs, like Pentax and others are doing.

Camera Raw in PSE11 does not support Nikon D610 NEF; all software updates done accomplished - which Camera Raw version to download and where to find?

Just bought a new camera (Nikon D610) and found out that Camera Raw in Photoshop Elements 11 does not support the RAW (NEF) files. Works fine with the Nikon D5200. PSE11 states that it's up to date. Support documents on Adope Website do not help at all. Some say the D610 is supported other say it's not. If I have to update Camera Raw, which version do I have to use for PSE11? Where can I find the download file?
I find it somehow strange, that it's not possible to contact the support in a common way, but have to use this Adobe Community. Anyway, if it works... :-)
Would be great, if someone could give me a hint, how to solve the problem.

Just got the new PSE12 and found out that Camera Raw 8.4 plug in can not be installed, if the system runs on Vista!
So I got a new Nikon camera, new software (which can not be send back) and it looks like that I will need new system software and probably a new PC... :-(
