RAW 8.4 für Lightroom 5.3

Hi
Ich habe die Nikon D4s und kann keine Bilder (RAW8.4) im Lightroom 5.3 bearbeiten. Im Photoshop ist das Raw 8.4 erhätlich.
Wann ist Lightroom wieder auf dem neuesten Stand?
MFG Roger

No one knows when LR will update.
Right now, you have to use the DNG Converter version 8.4 RC to work with your Nikon D4s files in Lightroom.

  • Camera Raw 5.5 VS Adobe Lightroom (color correction)

Hi, does somebody know if discarding the advantage of making layers of Photoshop, is the Adobe Lightroom color correction controls superiors to the CameraRaw PS Interface correction controls ??? I mean for color correction purposes is Adobe Lightroom  better tan PS's  camera raw interface ???? because for me both controls seem to be pretty much the same thing,  does anyone know something about it ??
    Thank you in advance !

Both Camera Raw (most recent version) and Lightroom (most recent version) share the EXACT same processing pipeline...however, there are subtle differences in usability. For example, ACR 5.6 has a Point Curves Editor...Lightroom doesn't. Lightroom has a powerful capability to control output size and resolution which Camera Raw doesn't have...
Bottom line is they are two horses of a different color but each is capable of performing the same tricks...so use whichever app allows you o accomplish what you need to do in the shortest and easiest process...

  • Installing Camera raw 6.7 RC in lightroom 3

Can someone tell me how to install this RC version of camera raw in lightroom please? When I run the download it does not offer the option of installing in lightroom. Many thanks.

Camera RAW is for Photoshop.  Lightroom has the engine built into itself.
You can download LR 4.1RC to have the closest available compatibility.

What are you wanting LR to do that you thought the ACR plugin would help with?

  • From what I understand RAW photos are supposed to open in raw in photoshop CC.  I don't understand why my RAW photos don't open in RAW in photoshop CC or Lightroom 5

From what I understand RAW photos are supposed to open in raw in photoshop CC. I don't understand why my RAW photos don't open in RAW in photoshop CC or Lightroom 5

Has the behavior changed compared to how it used to open ? If so, do you refer to the Camera RAW window similar to this: http://screenshots.en.sftcdn.net/en/scrn/78000/78026/adobe-camera-raw-22.jpg
What is the file extension of your photos ?
In Lightroom, there is no special way of opening a RAW file vs. JPEG. They all open the same. What is the Lightroom behavior ? Can you post a screenshot ?

  • RAW and JPEG cataloging in Lightroom?

I use Lightroom to catalog and develop my RAW files, and then create JPEG's for typical uses. But I don't end up with the JPEG's in my Lightroom catalog, and I think that would be helpful finding the ones I want, the way I do with RAW files.
Is there a way to catalog both my RAW and JEPG files with Lightroom?

For online JPEG's I use Save for web and devices in Photoshop. For large JPEG's for publications, I convert to SRGB and use Save As from Photoshop. For images I am going to print, I also save TIFF's.
Probably due mostly to lack of knowledge on my part, I seem to be able to "milk" better final images if I send them from Lightroom to Photoshop in Adobe ProPhoto format, after initial "developing" in Lightroom. I may be overkill, but I think I can tell a difference doing it that way with my NEC PA301WSV monitor.
I like some of the Photoshop tools better than the Lightroom versions, like the spot removal tool, and the clone stamp. There are also several other tools in Photoshop that I use from time to time. On the other hand, there are some tools in Lightroom that I like better, like the graduated filter and the adjustment brush.
I've also seen several discussions recommending not sharpening the RAW files in Lightroom, and waiting to do the sharpening in Photoshop. I haven't explored that fully to decide if I think that has merit.
My entire workflow may be a screwy abnormal mess, but I'm totally open to suggestions, and I do appreciate any suggestions. I just may not be swurft enough to get my arms around them
Thanks very much for taking the time to reply.

  • Hello,  RAW snaps too dark in Lightroom.

    Hello,
I made a snap with D-Lichting automatic in JPG and in RAW format at the same time.
When I look to the snaps in Photoshop I remark a difference in histogram. Both snaps have the same wave length, not the same frequencies. The red and blue colors’ are a higher in RAW; the green colour is higher in  JPG!
Both pictures look to be the same, lighting seems to be ok.
The same RAW picture opened in Lightroom is dark, under-exposed you should think.
Could I get some advice to get solved this problem?
    Many thanks in advance
    Marianne

    Dear Rob,
ADL is off and I made again some snaps. RAW ( NEF) and JPEG are taken at the SAME time.
When I have a look tot snaps in Lightroom they look ok. When I have imported them in Lightroom they are still too dark = over exposed. What could be happen?
    vriendelijke groet!

    P.A

The D750 was added in Lightroom 5.7. You will either have to purchase a Lightroom upgrade or use DNG converter 8.7 to create DNG copies that you can use with Lightroom 4.4.

  • When will come the new raw version update for Adobe Lightroom 4 with Nikon D750 support?

    Hello Adobe,
When will come the new raw version update for Adobe Lightroom 4 with Nikon D750 support?
    Best regards
    Frank

There won't be an update for Lightroom 4. The only way you can work with your D750 raw files is to use the free standalone DNG converter to create DNG copies. If you want to be able to work on the NEF files then you will have to upgrade to Lightroom 5. Lightroom does not use the Camera Raw plug-in. Everything is part of the Lightroom program. If you want to stay current with Lightroom then you need to follow the update/upgrade path. That means purchasing each new major version of Lightroom or subscribing to the creative cloud plan.

  • I have a new canon d7 mark ii and I can not get the raw picture to download in lightroom 6.  Lightroom says it does not recognize the raw format.  Is there a solution?

Lightroom 6 will not open raw files from my new canon d7 mark II camera.  The program says "The files are not recognized by the raw format supported in Lightroom.  The Lightroom 6 is up to date.  Is there a quick fix to this issue?

  • Problems viewing RAW photos properly in Photoshop/Lightroom/ACR

Hey folks. New here and looking to find some assistance with a  problem I'm having in Photoshop CS4, Lightroom 2 and Adobe Camera Raw  5.7 when attemtping to view RAW photos straight from my Canon 450D. My  computer is a Mac PowerPC G5 running OS X 10.5.8 with a single 1.8Ghz  CPU and 3.5Gb of RAM. Photoshop CS4 is version 11.0.2. Lightroom is  version 2.7. Adobe Camera Raw is version 5.7.
What I am  having problems with is viewing RAW photos from my camera in all of  these applications. No problems are encountered with any other file type  such as PNG or jpg.
I have attached a screen capture of  what I am seeing when I open a .CR2 RAW image in Camera RAW before  opening in Photoshop. As you can see, the software seems to be having a  difficult time rendering the photo properly. I can view these files on  other computers using the Canon software that came with my camera. I get  this same problem if I view the image in Lightroom.
As  far as I know, I can't upgrade to PS CS5 or LR 3 because I am still  running on the PPC architecture, so I need to find how to fix this  without having to buy a Mac Pro and the newest software.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot? If the screenshot is too small, I can provide the full-res version.

I'm well-versed in forum ettiquette, thank you. I do, however, see no problem why posting about this problem once in each forum covering the software involved in my problem would be an issue. If I posted about the problem in only one forum, let's say in the Lightroom forum, and the problem was experience by another person who did not use Lightroom and would not be browsing the Lightroom forum for help, how would they have come across this post? Unless they also looked in the Photoshop forum, they might not have seen this post. So where's the harm in having it viewed by a greater number of individuals?
With that aside, my problem is now resolved. After looking around a bit more on the forums here last night, I came across a thread started by a fellow who was experiencing the same issue as I, except he had newer versions of the software. Someone had replied to his post suggesting that it could have been faulty RAM modules and that they once experienced similar issues which were resovled by replacing the RAM. This was good news to me, since I had just purchased additional RAM for my Mac last week. It arrived today and I installed it and booted the Mac up. I purged any cache files used by these three software titles and then reattempted opening a RAW image in Photoshop. I took my latest RAW images from my camera, exported them to a USB thumb drive, and then from there exported them to my Mac. I tried to open on of the images in Photoshop and it opened successfully with ACR along with a complete and pristine preview of the image. Open the other RAW images in Lightroom, no problems.

  • Canon Camera Raw 5.2 solution for Lightroom 1.4.1

A photographer I work with has Lightroom 1.4.1. He has a Canon 5D Mark II which produces Camera Raw 5.2 files. He cannot view them in his copy of Lightroom. Besides upgrading to version 2 of Lightroom, is there another way such as a plugin to work with? Thanks!

Yes, use the free DNG converter provided by Adobe. Convert the Canon's CR2 files to the DNG format (there is an option to embed the original CR2 file if wanted although it makes the file bigger) and then Lightroom, and in fact Photoshop will be able to open it. Alternatively, make a copy of the CR2 files and convert these to DNG. It has to be said though, that whilst LR1.4.1 was probably the best and most stable of the version 1 series, LR2.3 (the latest) is a lot better and includes camera profiles which version 1 did not. I think your friend would be a lot happier upgrading in the long run.

  • How to access Camera Raw when invoking CS5 from Lightroom 3?

When I invoke CS5 from Lightroom, my NEF files seem to load directly without giving me an opportunity to make adjustments in Camera Raw. If I open the same NEF file from windows Explorer, CS5 presents the Camera Raw adjustment page and I can make adjustments before proceeding.
How can I work around this?
BTW I know I can make camera raw adjustments in Lightroom and then open in CS5, however for an image that I know I will be using CS5 on anyway, I don't want to do anything at all in LR just go direct to CS5 but I can't do this if this bypasses my ability to make adjustments in camera raw!
I must be missing something here, can anyone point me in the right direction?
    [I'm using Camera Raw 6.1, LR3, CS5 12.0.1 x64; Invoking CS5 from LR3 by right-click on image, Edit In > Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS5]

That workaround did work for me so thanks for the helpful reply!
If anyone else has other ways of making this work I'd like to hear about it.
    Thanks,
    Eric

  • Camera raw and Photoshop CS3 from Lightroom

(2.5) If I open a raw image from Windows Explorer or Bridge (which I don't use much), Camera Raw 4.6 opens. It doesn't open if I Edit In Photoshop CS3 from Lightroom, but says "This version of Lightroom may require the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in version 5.5 for full compatibility. Camera Raw version 4.6 is the latest version available for Photoshop CS3".
There are two choices: Render using Lightroom and Open Anyway. If I say the former, it doesn't use the file name, but does something like -2.tif.
I'm not sure what these two choices actually do.
Secondly, if things were working properly, would Lightroom actually open the Camera Raw window? If so, is there anything I can do short of upgrading PS to CS4?
    Thanks.

Just a little history of the profiles being displayed for your camera model. The camera calibration tab only displays the profiles that are specific to your camera and model. The earler profiles were named after the version of ACR that was in use when they were created.
    So.
ACR 4.2 the first profile created for your camera model when support was introduced.
ACR 4.4, Adobe created/ updated new profiles for most of the supported camera models with this release of ACR.
Adobe Standard Beta, updated profile when the Beta of ACR 5.0 and LR 2.0 were introduced.
Adobe Standard, Updated profile for the final release of ACR 5.0 and LR 2.0. This then is the latest profile created for your camera model. I think it should be the closest to your camera standard.
Adobe did not create any other camera matching profiles Vivid, Neutral etc other than for the more popular Nikon and Canon models.  I have an Olympus so I am in the same boat.

  • Can't open RAW file when moved from Lightroom to Photoshop CS4

I have a Canon 6D and recently purchased Lightroom 4.4 so that I could open my Canon RAW files. They do open in Lightroom, but when I move them to PHotoshop CS4 I can't open the files. I get a message telling me I can't open them. Any suggestions?

I don't know Macs so can't give you advice if CS6 will run on your Mac.
But since you have Lr5 you won't need to open Raw images in Photoshop. Lr5 gives you all the Raw editing capabilities that you need. I don't think CS6 will add anything to Raw editing capabilities that Lr5 doesn't have - although I don't know CS6 since I am still working with CS5.
You still can send images from Lr5 to CS4 for editing but you have to select <Render using Lightroom> in the dialog that says that the "Camera raw plug-in 8.1 may be required   ...". BTW: what this means is that the Camera raw plug-in 8.1 is required for Photoshop, not for Lr.
When you select <Render using Lightroom> Lr will create a TIFF / PSD from the Raw image and send it to CS4 for editing.
If you had CS6 Lr would send the Raw image to CS6 but on saving the edits in CS6 a TIFF / PSD would be created.
The only drawback with using CS4 is that the options <Merge to Panorama ...>, <Merge to HDR ...>, and <Open as layers> will be greyed-out and are not available.
If instead of selecting  <Render using Lightroom> in the dialog box you would select <Open anyway>, nothing would happen. CS4 would open but the image would not be displayed in CS4.

At long last, do we now know the true identity of "Yammer"? Keith Nuttall?
Hope so. With all the experience and intelligence shown in Yammer's previous posts it would make total sense.
I for one cannot understand why people do not post under their real names. And I'm not prepared to say why. I'll let you guess.
If it is you Keith, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by letting the community know who you really are. It would give much more weight and authority to your posts for the casual forum participants who have not had a long-standing familiarity with your previous very insightful and helpful contributions.
Just my 2 cents. Don't care tuppence whether or not anyone disagrees with me.
