RAW Adjustments resets automatically

There is a problem with the adjustments I make in the Camera Raw Converter of Photoshop. When I make adjustments "The Exposure +0.8" it will automatically go back to the "0.0" when I click on the Contrast or another adjustment bar.
I tried to install everything again (Adobe cc) but the problem is still there.

OS X YOSEMITE V10.10.1
RAW V8.7.1.311
I See the Photoshop (Photoshop 2014 CC) version is 2014.2.2. The not updated version on my Macbook Air is 2014.2.1. Can this be the problem, maybe a bug in the new version?

  • Bridge does not show my Camera Raw Adjustments in previews or thumbnails.

Bridge CS6 on my Mac is not showing my Camera Raw adjustments in a preview pane or thumbnail.
Here's how it worked until recently:
    I open a .CR2
    I make some adjustments
    I click "Done"
The thumbnail and the preview show the adjustments I made
    Now, it works like this:
    Open a .CR2
    Make adjustments
    Click "Done"
The preview and thumbnail don't show all the adjustments. I can't see the results of noise removal, but I can see a drastic change in Exposure
If I double-click the CR2 file, it opens in Camera Raw, and I see all my adjustments, including noise removal.
Here's what I've tried, but saw  no difference (I restarted Bridge every time):
    Purge Cache
    Purge Cache for Selection
Replaced Camera Raw plug-in as described here: Camera Raw 8.4 | No metadata or Camera Raw edit
(Doing so made Camera Raw disappear in Bridge, so I restored the original file)
    Reset Preferences
    Reset Standard Workspaces
All the above fixes were inspired by this thread: Re: Bridge CS6 not showing Camera Raw adjustments
Why don't I see the noise removal effect in the previews? I am sure I saw it a few weeks ago. I rely on that, to help me sort and cull photos.
    I'm hoping there's a preference toggle that I accidentally changed. It's definitely a puzzle. (Version: Bridge CS6 5.0.1.21 5.0.2.4)
Message was edited by: moonatwork after updating Bridge version. I tried all the above fixes again, after updating Bridge. It actually got worse. I tried replacing the Camera Raw plugin, which failed as before. I then restored the previous plugin, as before, but Bridge now fails to honor the preference, "Double-Click Edits Camera Raw Settings in Bridge" and instead always opens Photoshop.

Thanks, Omke. I tried updating, then applying all the same fixes to the updated version. No change.
I can attach a screenshot, but I must block out names and faces. All you'll see is my Bridge interface, not the faces in the portraits. Hope that helps.

XMP files remain with NEF files in my folder.  Camera Raw suddenly reset leaving my edits gone.  Will XMP files enable me to resume with those lost edits?

I never tried this, but I'm pretty sure that with DNG files, Lightroom will ignore xmp files, even when you instruct Lightroom to "Read Metadata from File". Lightroom expects all the metadata to be in the DNG file, not in the xmp file.
Pick flags, as far as I know, are never written to xmp file; nor are they written to DNG files.
If you're going to make this transfer procedure work, you need to do it by either (a) embedding the metadata in the DNG file and send those back and forth; or (b) use RAW and xmp and then sending the xmp files back and forth (plus I guess you have to transfer the original RAW once to your editor)

  • Some CS4 Raw adjustments lost after save to jpg or tiff

I've been running Photoshop CS4 under Windows XP 64 bit  (with 8Gb RAM) with no problems whatsoever (including use of GPU feature) since November 2008.
Very recently, with a difficult  event photosession I have a bunch of photos that have are overexposed/blown out highlights which were easily fixed with RAW adjustments in Bridge CS4 with the generous use of the RECOVERY slider as well as EXPOSURE.
After converting to JPEG (quality 12) or Tiff (as a test) the initially overexposed photos which were fixed and look fine in both Bridge and in Photshop show up overexposed -as if the RAW adjustments have never been made.  In other words the jpg or tiff version appears with blown highlights right next to the corrected RAW version (Canon CR2 files).   I need to emphasize that when the adjusted RAW is opened in Photoshop it looks fine -with all of the adjustments perfect. But once it is saved in Photoshop, the saved file does not look the same, it now has blown out highlights.
In other words something in the workflow whether Photoshop or RAW is simply not working the way it should and the way it used to work.
I have downloaded and installed the latest  RAW  5.5. It has not helped at all.  I can't pinpoint the time when this problem first showed up because I normally hardly ever have images with blown highlights. This last  event shoot was very poorly lit and it took a bit of time to figure out how to correct the exposure setting on the spot.
Have any of you experienced this problem?  I can't get Adobe Tech support telephone support without paying for the privilege, in spite of the fact that I suspect that this is a program bug.
Any suggestions will be greatly  appreciated and welcome.
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Some additional findings:
When I looked at the JPEGs which had blown highlights in Bridge, with ACDsee,  they looked fine! So I also tested with Windows Fax Viewer and they're fine again.  Conclusion -Bridge is showing unedited exposure.
Then in response to posting this same problem on Dpreview I got the solution from Walter Wollert:
    wwollert wrote:
" Do you have tif and jpg edit options enabled in RAW(ACR)? There was something I ran into that caused the problem like you have. I turned these options off and it cleared up. Why? Ur guess is as good as mine.
Again, I could be in error, since it happened a while ago and I sometimes have rolling blackouts.
    Walter
    Hey Walter,
Your suggestion solved my problem. Who would have expected that disabling JPEG editing in RAW would solve this problem?  I have been told to make sure this feature was enabled and in fact I always had this enabled because on occassion I find it very useful to use RAW tools to fix problems in some old JPGs.
I've been terribly annoyed and depressed about this problem and it just about completely stopped my editing for over 2 weeks, so you can be sure I am extremely thankful for your HEADS ON solution.
Someone at Adobe should have their head dunked in toilet bowl perhaps?
I don't ever remember seeing this problem in the past, even though I had the JPEG & TIFF editing enabled, and therefore I thought this "bug" crept in with one of the program updates.
    Thanks a MILLION!!!,
    Dan"
So that's the answer to the problem!

  • Bridge CC RAW adjustments

    Hi There,
I am using the latest version of Photoshop / Bridge CC. The software has been working perfectly but for some reason today i am having a big problem with my RAW adjustments to DNG files appearing in the bridge browser after i saved them. For example - I open a file from bridge and open in Camera Raw 8.4.1 make adjustments and select done. When i then view the adjusted images in bridge in any of the views  ESSENTIALS FILMSTRIP etc the files are not updating. I have tried purging the cache / compacting the cache with no change.
I am using a new 27 inch iMac. The only thing i have changed in my system is that i installed a  new workspace in PS but don't think would have any relation to my bridge problems.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this issue has ruined my workflow.
    Thanks

Yes i am am on Mavericks. Embarrassingly it was just a simple selection mistake on my behalf....just a matter of selecting the chequerboard  icons, top right.
    Thanks for the help.

  • Is it possible to transfer PSE11 camera raw adjustments?

I found a thread where it says it's not possible to open multiple images in PSE-11's Camera Raw.  But I would like to transfer the adjustments I make for one image in camera raw to another image.  Is that possible?
    Thanks,
    Skyzoomer

You can open multiple camera raw files into pse 11's camera raw (7.4), but i gather from your other post in the camera raw forum
your wanting to open multiple jpeg files into pse 11's camera raw.
One way i can think of offhand is to open your first jpeg, then on jpegs that follow use Previous Conversion from the flyout menu in camera raw.
    Hi R_Kelly,
Very observant.  Yes, I was wanting to open multiple jpeg files into PSE 11's camera raw.  But I also wanted to open multiple raw files in PSE 11's camera raw and didn't know how to do that.
My problem in not knowing how to open multiple "raw" files in PSE 11's camera raw was that I only knew how to open "any" file in camera raw by opening PSE 11 and then opening the file using FILE > OPEN AS > SELECT FILE TYPE AS CAMERA RAW and then clicking on an image file (jpeg or raw).
After reading your post, I experimented and discovered that if I select multiple "raw" files in PSE 11's organizer, I can then open all of the selected "raw" files in PSE 11's camera raw by clicking "Photo Editor" in the bottom toolbar.  Then I can indeed apply the same adjustments to multiple raw files at once in camera raw.
But as you pointed out, I can only open one "jpg" image at a time in camera raw but I can apply the adjustments to multiple jpg images (one at a time) by using the fly out menu's "Previous Conversion".
This answered all of my questions in applying PSE 11's camera raw adjustments to muliple images (raw and jpg).
Too bad there's no way to open multiple jpg images in PSE 11's camera raw.  Out of curiosity, would you happen to know whether it's possible to open multiple jpg images in CS6's camera raw?
    Thanks much for your help,

  • Raw adjustments made in Photoshop CS file browser are not transferring to Lightroom 4.

I have thousands of images all on external hard drives with raw adjustments made in Photoshop CS file browser.  When I import these raw files from the external drive into Lightroom 4 the original raw adjustments are not transferring or at least the preview of those adjustments are not showing up the way they do in file browser.  Why? Please help.

    Hi JGJenson,
Were the images already imported into iPhoto when you edited them in PS?
If they were then in order for the edit to be reflected within iPhoto you have to save with the same name.
So you need to navigate the iPhoto Library in the Finder and drag out the images that you saved back into the library with the different names. Drag them to the desktop, then import them from there.
If you are using PS as an external editor that you set up within iPhoto's preferences then the images must be saved with the same name and be flattened for the edits to be reflected within iPhoto.
If you want to save them with a different name, they must not be saved into the iPhoto Library. They need to be saved to the desktop and then imported into iPhoto.

  • TR TO Number Ranges getting reset automatically

    Hi All,
Can someone please help me to understand why the number range of WM objects - TR, TO, PCN, etc is getting reset automatically. Meaning even when I have 10 Trs or TOs created, when I see the current number range in OMLW it shows zero (that is initial).
I am doing configuration in development system & while testing all of a sudden I start getting error messages when posting the material documents in IM.
Initially I was shocked but after than I understood this. But most strangest thing is it is happening again & again. I discussed this ABAP team, but they are not able to understand.
    Thanks

    Thank You very much Juergan,
I contacted SAP as- this appeared to be risk for Project Go-live, and below is the answer... However I was am not able to get the find the Object & Subobject for Warehouse numbers
    Hello Hiren,
Are you resetting the number range buffers in SM56 after the imports?
You get to the buffers using transaction SM56. Chosse there in the
menu - goto - entries. Enter in the popup the client and the object
number - then <enter>. The system will then display you all current
    buffers on all application servers.
In the menu under number range buffer you should reset all the buffers
if they also show ranges that are still below any existing
    quants/transfer orders/transfer requirements/etc.
If you need any further help from me, just let me know.

  • InDesign handling RAW adjustments?

I'm glad about the new mini-bridge in InDesign CS5, but when I place an image in my document, it ignores the adjustments I've done on the image in CameraRAW. Can InDesign register these settings, or am I forced to save adjusted images as new files, before placing them in InDesign?

I think you already figured that one out.
Camera Raw adjustments, if I understand correctly, are a sort of non-destructive sidecar file. ID does not read them.

  • Lift and Stamp only RAW adjustments by default

I would to be able to lift and stamp my raw adjustments from image to image without having to deselect each of the other metadata properties from the lift and stamp hud each time I restart Aperture. My exclusion of other metadata remains until I close Aperture. The next time I open it I am forced to once again open the hud and deselect unwanted metadata. Is there a way to set my desired lift and stamp method as a default?
    Thanks,
    Christoph

I would to be able to lift and stamp my raw
adjustments from image to image without having to
deselect each of the other metadata properties from
the lift and stamp hud each time I restart Aperture.
My exclusion of other metadata remains until I close
Aperture. The next time I open it I am forced to once
again open the hud and deselect unwanted metadata. Is
there a way to set my desired lift and stamp method
    as a default?
    Thanks,
    Christoph
Currently not... any time you life you are always going to get the full set of metadata from an image, so even making a template image without the metadata that always gets included would not help much I think.

  • Newbie question on raw adjustments in LR

I am just trying to get a handle on how lightroom works. If I make adjustments in the Develop module are the adjustments made to the RAW file itself or are the adjustments written as instructions within LR. When I use ACR in bridge I notice that I can then open lightroom and SEE the ACR adjustments. Is the same thing happening in LR
I am asking this because I started using Aperture but did not like the fact that I could only see my adjustments from within Aperture. Is lightroom better at handling this??
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    >>You don't NEED to output to jpeg or tiff...
Don't follow you. You don't output the file? You just view it?
    >>You could edit, have those edits written as metadata to file... and print all in LR... then go back to same exact file and reset it to its exact original state.
The edits are applied to the original data while the data is sent to the printer.
    >>plus these edits are all virtual... you can edit the crap out of a jpeg (without exporting)
Yes, and that's very useful and a reason why metadata edits are so cool. Of course, one could say you could do the same thing using adjustment layers on a JPEG. There's just a much larger overhead for each and every layer.
    >>the old Save As method required multiple copies of the same image eating up hard drive space, and cluttering folders.
Yup although again, with layer sets, you could build a dozen different renderings and turn them on and off in any combo to see any set of corrections. Laborious compared to metadata editing. None of this of course is non destructive to the final data.
Now things get interesting with DNG if and when one can build multiple rendering instructions inside this format. Far more useful for raw but hopefully where we'll go in the foreseeable future. Embed multiple rendering sets ala Layer Sets inside the DNG but without the massive overhead.
