RAW CR2 NOT LOADING IN REVIEW LION 10.7.3 MAC PRO

After upgrading to Lion 10.7.3, Adobe, Canon RAW CR2 files are not previewable. I don't use iPhoto and if I did, apaerantly I'd have to buy that upgrade (NOT INCLUDED IN LION?) from ver. 7 to ver.11? I'm pretty much done with spending money pointlessly. Apple needs to get there sh*t together and and get with the upgrades too! It ****** me off and I just may go back to PC God forbid!
Anyone got any answers for this "previewing from Apple desktop the RAW CR2 files"?
No?
I thought not!
For 25 years I've been an apple customer and now... the last straw is bending! UGH!

If you can't upgrade your software, consider running it in Snow Leopard installed in Parallels 7 in Lion:

  • Can't install my Mountain Lion again on my Mac Pro -- help please.

I can't install Mountain Lion again on my Mac Pro: got this message: This copy of the Install OS X Mountain Lion application can't be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading. Delete this copy of the application, and go to apple store ...

Well, the hard disk has been replaced and the Apple people replaced but innstalled the older OS (
X Lion 10.7)! So I tried to reinstall the newer OS which from App Store under Purchases but I had the problem I stated earlier:  This copy of the Install OS X Mountain Lion application can't be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading. Delete this copy of the application, and go to apple store ... Hopefully, I can get this fixed! thanks!

  • HT4628 I can not use the internal wireless card with my Mac pro 2012, I don't know if it is broken

I can not use the internal wireless card with my Mac pro 2012, I don't know if it is broken. The problem is happen recently, I have to use an independent wireless card now. Thanks!

When you enable Internet Sharing in OS X, you are creating a separate sub-net.
There is no option to allow this to be a simple pass-through from Ethernet to AirPort (or the other way).
The problem is easily solved by getting an inexpensive wireless router. You can replace your current router OR disable the DHCP server on the wireless router and allow the wireless clients to get an IP address from the current router.

  • I paid for lion because my 2006 mac pro will not run anything newer (arbitrary decision by apple). Downloaded it, but nothing happened. App Store now says i've already downloaded it, so I can't try again. App store also says lion isn't available in usa.

I found out that an 06 mac pro cannot be updated to anything more recent than lion. They guys at the local shop told me this after they tried to update it for me so I could run logic pro 9 in 64 bit mode. I bought lion. Waited two days for the emails. Spent hours following the instructions which sounded so simple until you try them. Finally I found the "redeem" button that was hidden because the size of my safari window was too small to show it and there was no bar at the bottom to scroll over. Without googling "how do you find the app store" and "how do you find quick links" I never would have figured it out. I only mention this so that others may learn from my mistakes. Finally I downloaded lion, supposedly, but nothing happened. There is no indication that anything downloaded, other than the fact that when I try to download it again, it says it's already been downloaded. I spent four hundred bucks at the shop updating, plus whatever they charged me for lion, and I've still got snow leopard and logic pro running at 32 bits. I'm pretty sure nobody can help me, but could you please arrange for the return of my time?

You can go to "Purchases" tab and check again.
If OS X Lion is still not downloading, try at a different network environment.
By the way, Mac Pro (2006) with a newer graphics card runs Mavericks perfectly with modifications in the installer.
It's not allowed to be discussed here, but you can simply google how to do it.

  • Appworld will not load latest version of paid app (Restart Me Pro)

    Torch 9850 OS 7.1.0.402
Back on July 17, I purchased Restart Me Pro from s4bb via appworld.  Before this, I had been using the free version (v2.1).  After I purchased the paid version, Appworld updated the app to v2.1.1
After I upgraded, I got a list of apps to upgrade, one being Appworld to the latest version and Restart Me Pro to v3.0.18
I upgraded Appworld and then have been trying to load Restart Me.  Here is what I go through:
Appworld shows 1 upgrade available. (Restart Me Pro from V2.1.1 to V3.0.18)
I upgrade, the file downloads, installs, and then the phone reboots
After reboot, I check, version 2.1.1 is installed.
I go into Appworld, 1 upgrade shows.
I upgrade, the file downloads, installs, and then the phone reboots
After reboot, I check, version 2.1.1 is installed.
I go into Appworld, 1 upgrade shows.
I upgrade, the file downloads, installs, and then the phone reboots
After reboot, I check, version 2.1.1 is installed.
    (you get the idea)
I have tried uninstalling Restart Me Pro AND Appworld.  Neither one helps.  No matter what I do, the only version that will load is v2.1.1 of Restart me Pro.

    Hello!
You seem to be doing everything correctly...but I might suggest a modified approach:
With the current AW installed, clear the AW App Cache:
    1. Open App World
    2. Go to My World
    3. Follow one (and only one!) of these steps:
3a. For keyboard-based BB's -- Hold down the ALT key and then press, in sequence R, then S, then T
3b. For Touch Screen Only BBs -- Hold the num-lock (!?123) button so it locks and then press, in sequence 3, then 4, then (
    3c. For newer (e,g., OS6 and 7) BB's, see this KB:
KB24714 How to clear the BlackBerry App World cache
    4. AppWorld should close.
    5. Perform a battery pull reboot
If step (4) does not happen as listed, then the clear cache did not work. At this point, DO NOT re-enter AW.
Remove the app (Restart...) from your BB:
KB10040 How to view or remove installed applications on a BlackBerry smartphone
    Perform another Batt-pull reboot.
    Remove AW from your BB:
    1) Remove AppWorld from your BB
KB10040 How to view or remove installed applications on a BlackBerry smartphone
If it requests that you reboot the BB, do so
    2) Do a Batt-Pull reboot (power on, remove battery, wait, insert battery, wait), even if redundant to the one you did in step 1.
Use either your PC (via Mass Storage Mode) or your BB (via Media > > Explore) and find any references (folders, files) to the app. Delete whatever you find. Search both your Device Memory as well as your Media Card.
    Do another Batt-pull reboot
Install (on your BB) a fresh copy of AppWorld
    http://blackberry.com/appworld/download
Again, if it requests to reboot, do so.
    Do not (yet) launch AW
    Do another Batt-Pull reboot
Now launch AW, and it should take a moment to repopulate the Installed Apps list. Try again, from the uninstalled list, to install the app (Restart...) and see if perhaps now it will obtain the proper version for you.
If not, then you will need to escalate to s4bb support.
    Good luck!

  • Why does most of the "system preferences" not load due to having an intel based mac?

I used to be able to access ALL of the items in "system preferences". Since the upgrade to Mavericks, which the Apple Store did for me, I cannot use most of them. It won't load my printer information. I cannot access security and privacy, users and accouts, parental controls, etc. Sometimes a window pops up and says "Preference Error" could not load.....pane. Or it will say "Preference Error" (and something like) cannot load ....... because it's an intel based mac.  What the heck does that mean and why does it say that when I used to be able to access everything in the "System Preferences"? Please help! I'm sooooo frustrated and confused right now.

    Since the upgrade to Mavericks
In order to get the correct troubleshooting suggestions, please, please pretty please, correct/update your system profile.  Thank you

  • HT1338 Has anyone successfully installed Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC software inside Windows 7 Pro inside Parallels 8 inside Mountain Lion running on a Mac Pro built in 2013?

I wanted to ask if anyone using a Mac Pro running Mountain Lion, Parallels 8, and Windows 7 Pro could run XP Mode?
My experience has not been encouraging in that I progress to the end of the final mile, that is configuring XP Mode for first use, then an error message appears saying I should try again, that is I should attempt to configure XP Mode again for the first time use.  An endless loop, with no visibility into the nature of my configuration failure.
I understand my problem is a narrowly focused, microsoft-centric issue, however, I would imagine this XP behavioral Mode running inside Windows 7 Pro is a common goal for many users, so I thought this question was reasonable to ask our group.
    Please advise, and thank you.

    Hello FatMac,
I wanted to let you know that your "requires a patch" feedback looked--at first--like the piece of the puzzle I was missing.  Turned out, however, when I downloaded the 64 bit version of the patch, then attempted to install it under Windows 7 Pro, my installation was first searched, then my patch installation returned a message saying this patch was not applicable to my system. (BTW:my Windows 7 install is 64 bit) This failure to install surprised me because, based on an earlier evaluation for hardware virturalization support, my MacPro does not have virturalization hardware support.  I mean, based on this no hardware support feedback, and based on the nature of this patch, it looked as if the patch should install and set my problem right.
Nevertheless, the patch won't install, and I don't know a way to query or coerce it.  I'm approaching the point of diminishing returns with this problem.  I have two applications (Adobe Illustrator 10 and Framemaker 7.0) which will run, but they don't behave properly, under Windows 7.  BTW: I did make somewhat extensive use of the Windows compatibility tool early on, but nevertheless, FrameMaker 7 simply quits at the worst possible moment, and Illustrator 10 graphics are very often blank black areas where pallettes should be.
Thanks again for your thoughts and help.  I believed we were heading down the right track, but for reasons not visible to me, (the user), the patch that should fix this problem will not install...
If there is any saving grace to this situation, my problem is repeatable.  I mean, it's not on-again/off-again.  When I attempt to configure XP Mode for its first use, the progress bar turns red at the final second, then complains that it could not complete its setup.  Please Try Again recouts its final advice.  (Famous words marking the beginning of an endless loop:-)
Were it not for Illustrator and FrameMaker, I would not have taken us down this dark road.
So long for now, and hope to talk to you all again soon...

  • Mountain Lion Very Slow on Mac Pro 3,1 (2008 model)

The Mac Pro 3,1 is supposed to support Mountain Lion, but when I run it, the GPU (ATI Radeon HD 2600 that came with it) makes a constant, loud fan noise as if it is working hard, and all of the graphics lag badly. I've installed all of the updates. Is there some driver problem between the Radeon HD 2600 and Mountain Lion? People on MacRumors said that it works fine on a Mac Pro 3,1 except for one guy who said it was really slow. Snow Leopard runs great on my machine.

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
    Reset the System Management Controller.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
Boot into Recovery mode, launch Disk Utility, and run Repair Disk.
Otherwise, take the steps below when you notice the problem.
    Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the icon grid.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Next, select the Disk Activity tab. Post the approximate values shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec (not Reads in and Writes out.)
    Step 2
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. That should be easy to do if your extract is not too long.

Do you think its possible to get Mountain Lion working with this computer or am I much better off upgrading completely to a new Mac,
    Really appreciate all help,

You have the original Mac Pro. Just look at your chart for the production line dats and when yours was produced. It is not an early 2008 Mac Pro.

  • Is it possible to downgrade to Mountain Lion on the 2013 Mac Pros?

While that is typically the case, I've noticed the new MacBook Air and Mac Mini will allow you to install Mountain Lion
That is because both models were released before Mavericks was available. Mountain Lion is their original OS.
The 2013 Mac Pro can not run anything lower than the custom build version of 10.9 it shipped with.

  • Why is mountain lion incompatible with my mac pro?

The app store says that Mountain Lion is incompatible.  Not sure why. I have 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual Core Intel Xeon processors.  I have 8 GB of memory free and over 800 GB of storage free.  Can someone explain?

If you're running Lion, it should, where my iMac shows it's an early 2009 design:

  • Lion install bricked my Mac Pro (2006 model)!

    Hello,
I apologize for the inflamatory title but I figured the problem I have is real and Apple engineers are more likely to notice the issue with this title.  My apologies if you already noticed my other post.
My Mac Pro 2006 (first Intel model - dual Xeon 2.66GHZ 8GB) was running fine under 10.6.7 and 10.6.8.
On the first reboot after the Lion install starts I get the boot screen with the Apple logo and the spinning wheel.  After a while the spinning stops.  The screen stays this way.  Disk IO continues for a little longer but then stops (mostly).  I can ping the machine (DHCP server providing a fixed IP address for the Mac PROs MAC Address) so I know it is somewhat functional.  On another Mac the Lion install went fine.  On that Mac the first thing that happens after the spinning wheel stops is the screen goes into GUI mode.  So I surmise my problem has something to do with graphics.
When I power cycle and boot with verbose mode I notices a few items of interest:
    1) 64 bit kernel (I thought Apple only supports a 32 bit kernel on this vintage of machine)
    2) A couple of unrecognized device line items.  (I took out a Sonnet expansion Firewire/USB PCIe card and one of the messages went away on a subsequent try.)
    3) The last message I see says something about macosx_swapon (or something close to that).  After that no more screen messages even though disk IO continues.
I rebooted the machine with an external firewire drive running Snow Leopard.  Everything worked fine.  I went into system profiler and retrieved the info on the video card.
    NVidia GeForce 8800 GT
    Vendor: 0xde
    Device ID:  0x0600
    Revision ID: 0x00a2
    Rom Revision: 3233
While the Lion specs do not call out specific supported video cards/chipsets, they do mention this card is supported for openCL under Lion so it sounds like the card is supported.
What I request is a patched Lion installer kit.  I can run this from said external drive after copying the patched installer from my functional Mac.  I'd also strongly suggest the installer thoroughly interrogate the hardware to determine if there are any incompatibilities before the installer triggers the reboot.
Is there a way I can determine more diagnostic information to subsequently post in this discussion?  Maybe there is a command I can issue in single user mode?
    Thanks in advance!

Seems I'm not the only one having this issue. I installed a GeForce 8800GT in my 2006 MacPro 1,1 (2 x 2.00Ghz Xeon Dual Core) that I got off eBay recently and I've also had the same issues (freezes on Apple screen, spinning logo). I actually installed Lion before I put the card in (old card GeForce 7300GT, came with the system) and it worked OK. But when I put in the card, the problems started.
But I did get an eBay message from the seller who sold me the card, and it turns out at this stage that the Lion drivers have a problem for some reason for 8800GT.
Here's the info from the system profiler if this helps:
    NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
    Vendor:          NVIDIA (0x10de)
    Device ID:          0x0611
    Revision ID:          0x00a2
    ROM Revision:          3233
Seems to be a widespread issue at the moment....
