The raw files from my Canon power shot S95 is not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom. What can I do ?

Thank you for responding. So I essentially will never be able to use that button in lightroom 5? do I need to get LR 6? Will there ever be an update for LR 5 that will enable me to use it?
Does DNG Converter work within LR or do I have to upload pictures to my computer and then make a second copy in DNG format. and then go into LR and use them?

My lightroom 4 will not import my files from my compact flash card . It has been working for years with out fail but now there is no import previews and it says the files are not recognized by raw format support in LR

I have lightroom 4 I've had it for years and it has imported my raw files from my CF card without issue . Now when I plug in my CF card to import new files it says import operations not performed and there are no image previews . When I continue by hitting "import" I get a pop up window that states "the files are not recognized by raw format support in Light Room"

Don't feel too bad. If the D4S has as many menus and custom functions as my Canon 5D Mark iii its easy to get messed up.
If you downloaded from the link I gave you it will be Lr 5.4. The link was just to show you when the D4S was supported. The newest version is 5.7.1 and can be downloaded here. Don't know your OS so you will have to pick Windows or Mac. Product updates
On my Mac I just run the downloaded installer program (its a full version and not an small update) and it installs the new version and erases the old version. If you are on Windows you will have to get help from a windows person.

Based on previous experience, I expect the final versions of LR, ACR and DNGC to be released simultaneously. We have so far seen Release Candidates of ACR and DNGC but not LR.
Unless there needs to be a second ACR/DNGC Release Candidate which happens once every few years for special circumstances, which I don't see any of at the moment.

I assume you mean the Nikon D810 because D800/800E support has been there since Lightroom 4.1
Currently, because it is a new camera (D810) the only support is in a RC of ACR 8.6 for Photoshop CS6 and CC, as the RC runs out on 31 August it is expected support will be there in the next dot release of Lightroom.
Current limitations are that only full sized NEF is supported.
If you wish to import to Lightroom 5.5. you will need to download the DNG Converter v8.6RC and convert the NEF files (full size RAW ony) to DNG then import into Lightroom 5.5

Each camera must be supported explicity and your LR version is years older than your camera.
According to Adobe's Camera-support page, you need at least LR 5.3 to work with your D610 NEFs in LR:

If you don't want to upgrade to LR 5, or can't due to your OS being too old, then it might work to use the latest DNG Converter and create DNGs from your NEFs, which should open in LR 4.x. You can find the DNG Converter here: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates

Is the Nikon D5300 raw format supported in Elements 12?

I purchased a D5300 and I am not able to open RAW format photos. I want to know if Elements 12 will open them.

According to Adobe’s ACR App Compatibility list, PSE12 ships with ACR 8.1 and can be updated to ACR 8.3 although the list does not include ACR 8.4 which is the current version of plug-in, perhaps because ACR 8.4 is only compatible with Windows 7+ and OSX 10.7.5+, which is newer than the minimum requirements of some of the applications that host it:

Digital camera RAW formats supported - Canon EOS 7D

Does anyone know if and when Canon's 7D RAW images will be supported by Aperture 2.1? I just got the 7D and Aperture is not recognizing the RAW images. What is the typical lag time for Apple to add new camera model RAW files?

How about whining about their still not having issued a RAW update to handle the Olympus E-620. That was released the first of May.
I realize there aren't the number of buyers as some of the Nikons and Canons, but come on...can adding a RAW format to the library be that big a task? I'm sure that most of Aperture's customers buy new cameras with some regularity (since the technology is changing so fast). Why routinely aggravate them by taking a long time to add the new cameras?
I getting REALLY tired of exporting jpgs and then reimporting them just so I can see more than a thumbnail (I have the camera save jpgs and RAWs simultaneously, but Aperture won't show the jpegs if there is a RAW version as well).

I got a new digital camera; RICOH GR Digital, which can save images in RAW format, however, when I try to import the photos from Aperture, the DNG files will be downloaded but can't be opened! Why is that?

Lightroom 4 cannot read the RAW photos from a Sony A7
You would have to download and install the FREE Adobe DNG Converter version 8.5 and then convert your RAW to DNG, and then import the DNGs into Lightroom 4
You could also purchase Lightroom 5.5, which will have the capability to read the RAWs directly.

ILCE-QX1 Raw Format Support

Hello,
I import successfully raw file (arw v2.3) from my brand new Sony Smart Lens ILCE-QX1. But when I open it, the preview disappeared and the classic black "file format not supported" panel appears in place.
I have Aperture 3.6, RAW Pack 10.2 (I try all the previous version from 5.05).
Is it an Issue of Aperture or is this 6 month old camera not supported by Raw Pack ?

The preview you see is actually the JPG preview generated by the camera and embedded into the Raw file. It is the same image you see in the camera's display. Aperture uses it to display an image while it is decoding the raw data. Once the raw data is decoded the image generated by it is displayed. If the raw file is not supported you of course get the message you are seeing.
The raw file is not 'standard' each camera in a manufacturers line generates a unique raw file even if the file extension is the same. So there is no Aperture issue it is simply that the raw file generated by that camera is not supported by OS X.

D7000 Raw Format Support

I have just bought a Nikon D7000 and I realize that PSE 8.0 does not support its NEF format.
Does anyone have an idea as to when PSE will support ?
Alternately, what other photo processing software would support ?

When the camera raw 6.3 plugin comes out of beta (anytime now), pse9 will be supported for sure.
As to whether pse8 will be able to use the 6.3 camera raw plugin, maybe not.
If it turns out pse8 won't support the 6.3 camera plugin, you can use the 6.3 dng converter
on your D7000 files.
You can use the DNG 6.3 converter right now if you like (make sure you download the
dng converter and not the 6.3 camera raw plugin)

I get this error message every time I try to upload raw files to lightroom 4 on my mac. I have a nikon d600, So the camera is supported by lightroom. Furthermore, I have downloaded these same files, with no problem, on my desktop in lightroom.

If you are downloading straight from the camera it is fraught with problems.
Numerous different cameras from different manufacturers don't play nicely with Lightroom (it may be the other way around too).
If you have been trying to use a card reader ignore this post.

How can I get Aperture 3.4 to support Sony NEX-5N RAW format photos?

I've upgraded all software and my camera -- Sony NEX-5N -- is on the Aperture list for RAW format support, but it continues to show images shot in RAW as a black square with FORMAT NOT SUPPORTED! in the middle. Is there a setting I'm overlooking or what?

What is your Aperture version? Perhaps you need to reinstall Aperture from the original installation media and then upgrade to include the 3.9 update. Or try to install the raw upgrade directly.
